The Diamonds took Tasque and locked them in a dark empty room. Tasque tried to escape by summoning their shield and bashing the shield against the door, but it didn't work. When the shield hit the door, it broke and Tasque was knocked back against the wall, separating back into Tammo and Pasque.

"Hmm, not getting out that way," Tammo said. "Are you okay?"

Pasque nodded. "Mm-hm."

Tammo slumped against the wall. "Wot was I even thinking, coming here?"

"Well, you were thinking that if you came to Homeworld and talked t' White Diamond, maybe you could save all the corrupted Gems on Earth."

"And look where it got us!"

"Well, we knew it wouldn't be easy."

Tammo sighed. "Yeah, but I didn't think I'd get every Crystal Gem poofed at the same time. Pearl was right; we should never have come!"

Pasque had never seen Tammo so depressed. "We can't give up," she urged him. "We'll think of something."

But they couldn't think of anything. They were trapped, and there was nobeast coming to save them this time. All their friends were either poofed or back home on Earth.

They'd been locked up in there for about 24 hours when the door finally opened and Blue Diamond came in. She immediately began to berate Tammo.

"I cannot believe you, Pink! Making a scene like that!"

"We didn't mean any harm!" Pasque shot back at her. "I asked Tammo to dance; he wasn't trying to cause trouble, wot wot!"

"Blue, ya can't keep us locked up in here forever," Tammo appealed. "At least, bring us some flippin' scoff!"

"Scoff?" Blue Diamond repeated, never having heard the word before.

"Yes, you know. Scoff? Grub? Vittles?" She just kept staring at him until he finally clarified, "Food."

"Since when do Gems need to eat?" Blue said.

"Maybe you don't need to eat," said Tammo. "But I'm not like other Gems. I'm half-Gem, half-hare. And Pasque isn't a Gem at all! If you don't let us out of here, we're gonna starve!"

"You're not leaving this tower until you apologize for fusing at the ball," Blue told him.

Tammo looked down, considering his options for a moment, and looked back up. "No," he said.

Blue Diamond gasped in shock. So did Pasque. "Wot?" said Tammo. "I'm not sorry."

Blue's hands shivered as tears welled up in her eyes. "We finally have you back… and you're worse than ever!"

Tammo remained calm. "Blue, Pasque and I fuse all the time. It's totally normal and fine."

Blue grasped her face in her hands. "Agh! In what universe could that possibly be fine?"

"This universe!" Tammo said. "The other Crystal Gems fuse with each other all the time too. Ruby and Sapphire make Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst make Opal, Garnet and Pearl make Sardonyx, Garnet and Amethyst make Sugelite, and when Garnel, Amethyst, and Pearl are all fused together at once, they form Alexandrite!"

"Ooohh! Pink!" Blue moaned. "Your time on Earth has warped your sense of right and wrong!"

"Yeah, maybe it has," said Tammo. "Mebbe Pink thought you were right to lock her up in here when she messed stuff up. But I know wot it's like to have a loving family. And we don't do stuff like this to each other."

"Pink…" Blue began, but Tammo interrupted.

"That's another thing! I'm sick of you callin' me Pink! Maybe I was Pink Diamond once, but now my flippin' name is Tammo Quartz Tussock, wot wot! The Crystal Gems understand that I'm Tammo, and they support me and Pasque. And you fellows poofed 'em for sticking up for me. That isn't normal!"

"That's enough!" Blue Diamond summoned a concentrated burst of energy that knocked Tammo back across the room.

But he got back up. "Is this what ye did to my mother whenever she did something you didn't like?" he asked. "How many times did you lock her in here? How many times did you make her cry?"

Suddenly, Blue realized the horror she had put Pink through over the years. Tammo was right. It wasn't normal. "And I'm doing it again, aren't I? And that's why you left."

She began crying harder. Tammo began to cry too, but this time it wasn't because of Blue's power. It was because of his own emotions.

After a long while, Blue calmed down and wiped the tears from her face. She looked away from Tammo and Pasque, contemplating for a long moment before speaking.

"You were right to leave," she finally said. "I always thought that you were failing this world. But if you were happier on Earth, maybe this world was failing you." She turned her gaze back on Tammo and managed a weak smile. "We never should have brought you back here. Let's get you back home."
