Pulling the door of the church open, the six entered slowly. Using their cellphones for light they moved farther into the room, "It's gone," Kie stated as they all looked at the spot where the cross had been only hours prior.

"Damn it!"

"What do we do now?" Sarah questioned.

"You want a plan? I have a plan," JJ answered agitated, "We go grab some kerosene tanks from the Chat, then we go to my dad's shop and get some dynamite. We go down to Charleston and tell this lady who she's messing with! Because this is some bullshit!"

"JJ, we can't blow someone up," Coral told him.

"You have something better, Babygirl?"

"I'm thinking," John B spoke up, "She's right we can't just blow shit up."

Looking between the twins, JJ sighed before turning around to Pope who was standing by the altar looking around the church, "I'm sorry, Pope."

Turning around Pope looked out at his friends, "Denmark would've stood right here preaching to everyone he set free. A slave, the sole survivor of the Royal Merchant, he got the gold and the cross, and he brought them to shore and he used it to free every person who walked through these doors," he told them pointing around the church.

"He made a church, a family, a congregation," he paused, "A home. And the Limbrey's took everything from him. They sicced dogs on his wife and his kids and when he tried to get her remains, they hung him. Well, I'm done. I'm tired of this shit. That is not how this is gonna end," he declared moving back towards the doors of the church.

"We need a freaking win, guys. I'm going to get my family's cross," he told them, opening the doors of the church, "You guys coming?" he asked before heading back out into the night.

"Well, when he puts it like that," John B smiled looking around at the others.

"Hell, yeah, we're coming Pope!" JJ yelled, taking Coral's hand and following after the boy.

Climbing into the Twinkie, they'd left behind earlier when rushing Pope back to town for medical attention, John B started the van and drove them towards town. Driving down the stretch of road they'd just walked, John B swore as he came around a bend and saw the flashing lights up ahead, "Uh, I think they found the truck," he told them as he began to slow down as he approached.

"Shit!" Kie swore ducking down behind the passenger seat as John B came to a stop.

"Evening Officer," he greeted.

"That's Sheriff," Shoupe responded as John B nodded.

"Of course, Sheriff," he replied as Shoupe shined his flashlight into the Twinkie, "Speed kill, huh," he commented, gesturing towards the wrecked truck.

"I pulled the tags, and I know whose truck it is," Shoupe told them, "You gonna pretend she ain't in there?" he questioned John B before shining the flashlight into the back, "Hey, Kie. You drop your weed pen back there?" he asked, sarcastically.

Grimacing, Kie lifted her head, "Found it, thanks," she responded.

"Sheriff, I just want to say that this is all my fault," Pope spoke up leaning forward behind the driver's seat, "She had nothing to do with this. I take one hundred percent responsibility."

"Nothing to do with it? Uh-huh. You wanna try that again?" Shoupe questioned, "Your parents reported the truck missing four hours ago, and the keys were missing from the house. I'm taking you home," he told Kie, "Or I can pull you all in for leaving the scene of an accident."

"Okay," Kie responded, holding her hands up in surrender.

"Good. Plumb," he called, gesturing for his officer to open the back of the van.

"Alright," Kie said, getting out of the van, "Hit me up later and make sure I'm still alive," she told them before Plumb slid the door shut and led Kie to a waiting police cruiser.

"Do you think we'll ever see her again?"

"Her parents are talking boarding school," Coral answered Sarah, "So, probably not."

Pulling up to Tannyhill a few minutes later John B parked the van on the side of the road. Moving to the wall separating the front yard from the road they could see the truck that Rafe had been driving sitting in the driveway near the front of the house.

"He's got the truck."

"Stay low!"

"How much do you wanna bet that Rafe has the cross inside that truck right now?" Pope questioned.

"There's only one way to find out," Sarah told them before walking towards the front gate of Tannyhill.

"Hey, hey, wait," John B whispered, hurrying to catch up with her.

"Is he really doing this right now?" Coral muttered as they listened to John B beg forgiveness from the girl. Rolling his eyes, JJ shook his head, "Apparently," he replied as John B pulled the piece of bandana that was Sarah's from his pocket.

"I want you to have this back," John B told her, holding the bandana, "Will you take it?"

"Oh, they're making me nauseous," JJ whispered when Sarah reached up and kissed John B.

"Please, there is no one worse then you two," Pope said, giving them all a disgusted look, "Hey! Do you want me to perform your vows while you're at it?" he questioned sarcastically as John B practically skipped back to them.

"Seriously, Romeo, could you take any longer? We're kind of on a time crunch," Coral reminded him as he gave her the finger.

"Oh, shit, what is she doing?" JJ asked, turning their attention to Sarah who was climbing onto the truck to look into the passenger side window.

Watching as she jumped down and then started gesturing to the house they all started frantically waving, "No, don't go inside!" Coral whisper shouted.

"She's going inside," JJ stated.

"Thank you Captain Obvious!"

"Screw this I'm going over," John B decided as he began to climb the wall.

"Yeah, let's go," JJ agreed as he cupped his hands to help boost Coral up.

Pausing at the sound of a horn being honked they turned to see a man approaching in a golf cart, "Are you fucking kidding?" Coral muttered.

"Uh, excuse me," the man called as he stopped the golf cart, "Can I help you?"

"No," Coral stated as John B and Pope sat on top of the wall afraid to move.

Laughing, the man stood from the golf cart holding a gun, "I got double aught bucks in this thing, so, uh, I can't miss," he threatened, "So, everyone off the wall."

Holding his hands up as John B and Pope jumped back down to the ground, JJ stepped towards the man, "Sir, it's not what it seems."

"You telling me you four don't belong on the other side of the island?"

"That was rude and condescending," Coral muttered as JJ shushed her.

"I think I'm gonna have to call the police."

"You don't have to do that, sir," JJ said, keeping his hands in the air, "Could I maybe talk with you? Just to explain."

"JJ," John B hissed.

"No, I got this," he whispered before approaching the man slowly, "Sir, I know you think we're just derelict kids from the Cut, but we weren't that to Mr. Cameron."

"Sure weren't" John B chimed in.

"We were his yard workers, sir, and she was young Miss Wheezie's nanny," he said, pointing to Coral, "And we were just waiting for our yard associate….uh."

"Tommy," John B hissed.

"Tommy, yeah, Tommy to get back from planting a row of flowers for Mr Cameron's memorial," JJ explained.

"Keep talking," the man responded.

"Mr. Cameron, he was knighted this summer," JJ went on, "It was a truly spectacular ceremony at Midsummers. We were all there," he said motioning to the others, "We had tears the whole night for the accomplishments Mr. Cameron has, well, had achieved in life. The Knight of the Rhododendron lives on in here," he told the man touching his heart.

Coughing to cover her laugh, Coral elbowed Pope who snorted from next to her as JJ continued on, "That's why we planted those flowers."

"Yep!" John B agreed as Coral and Pope nodded.

"You smell that right?"

"What is that, night blooming Jasmine?" the man asked.

"No, that's a uh, um, like, a natural Viagra, Sir," JJ made up.

"Oh God," Coral mumbled, unable to keep from rolling her eyes any longer.

"Really?" the man questioned, sounding intrigued.

"Yep! Just on sniff and bam it's hammer time! You know what I'm saying?"

"Okay, okay, our associate, Tommy, should be out here any time," Pope cut in.

"Yeah, so we'll be quiet, and we'll finish up here, and we're sorry we bothered you," JJ told the man as he led him back to his golf cart.

"You see that you do," the man replied, "I've got to get some of those flowers," he muttered as he climbed into the golf cart.

"Have a good night, Sir," John B called as the man finally drove away.

"You are so ridiculous!" Coral said as they rushed back to the wall and JJ boosted her up while John B and Pope jumped up themselves.

"You mean I'm a Jedi master bull shitter," he responded, climbing up and over the wall.

"What do we do? I don't see Sarah," Coral whispered as they crouched behind a row of hedges.

"Wait, shit, there's Rafe," JJ whispered as they watched him come out of the house and get into the truck.

"He's getting away!"

"We need the element of surprise. He might have a gun."

"Well how do we do that?"

"Throw something in front of the truck," JJ suggested as the truck drove closer to them.

"Like what? A fucking tree branch?" Coral quipped.

"He's got my cross," Pope muttered before taking off running.

"Pope!" all three exclaimed as the boy ran after the truck and jumped on the back of it as Rafe drove away.

"What was that shit?" John B questioned bewildered.

"Should we go after them?"

"We need to find Sarah," John B reminded them.

"Well, Rafe's gone so we could, like, storm the fort," JJ suggested just as the door opened again and Rose and Wheezie came out practically dragging Sarah between them.

"What did they do to her?"

"It looks like they drugged her or something," Coral responded as they placed Sarah in the backseat of the car.

"Yo, come on!" John B yelled, running after the car as Rose began driving down the driveway.

Running after the car with John B and JJ Coral could see Sarah laying across the backseat barely conscious, "Wheeze, open the door," she yelled banging on Wheezie's window. Once Rose stepped on the gas the three of them were unable to keep up with the car and they watched helplessly as she drove off.

"Come on, get to the Twinkie! We can't lose them!"

Jumping into the Twinkie John B took off after them following Rose from a distance, "You know the amount of cardio I've put in just today should excuse me from gym class for the rest of my high school career," Coral gasped out laying across the floor of the Twinkie as she attempted to catch her breath.

"You know you are severely out of shape," JJ commented, smirking at her as she raised her hand and flipped him off.

"They're going to the wharf," John B realized as they continued to follow Rose. Pulling off to the side of the road outside the gates the three jumped out of the Twinkie.

"Now what?"

"Now, we stay low. Follow this truck in from the other side. That gate over there is open and we can get in that way," JJ answered, taking her hand as they ran up behind the truck entering through the gates. Keeping pace with it they snuck through the gates while security was checking the truck on the other side.

Taking off they weaved through shipping containers until they found where Rose had gone. From where they hid they could see one of the workers helping Sarah out of the back of the car and leading her up onto one of the ships.

"The Coastal Venture," JJ read the side of the boat, "I know that ship. My dad did legs on her last summer. It's a total tramp steamer. I worked on her in port," he told them.

"Look, there's the cross," John B pointed out as they watched a large wooden box being lifted into the air by a crane as Rafe looked on.

"God, I hate that guy," JJ muttered, watching Rafe.

"JJ, we gotta come up with a plan."

"I know. I'm working on it," he replied, "Okay, so maybe if we get over to that barge. We'll have to get into the water, though," he said, pointing.

"Water? I ain't getting in no water."

"Yeah, you are," John B retorted, glaring at his sister.

"Howdy!"

Jumping, all three turned to find Kie and Pope behind them, "Good God don't do that!" Coral exclaimed.

"Seriously, I was about to stab your eyes out!" JJ added.

"You looked scared as shit," Kie laughed.

"How did you find us?"

"I geo-located JJ's phone," Kie replied as Coral nodded.

"Smart," she complimented.

"Pope, are you okay? What happened?" John B asked the mud splattered boy.

"Rafe, round three," he responded.

"Are you fucking kidding me? Again?"

"This time it was a tie," Pope replied to JJ's question as he looked out towards the ship where the cross was loaded onto.

"They're holding Sarah hostage."

"We need to get onto that ship," Kie stated.

"They were working on a plan when you scared the shit out of us," Coral told her, "It involved getting into the water," she continued, wrinkling her nose.

"I have an idea," Pope spoke up, "I'll be back," he told them, running off.

"Why does he keep running off!" John B exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air.

Minutes later an explosion rocked the shipyard.

"What in the hell was that?"

"Was that Pope?" Coral questioned as they watched the men working the shipyard take off running towards the explosion.

Seconds later she got her answer when Pope came running back towards them, "Come on!" he whispered motioning to the shipment container that the men had been preparing to put onto the Coastal Venture.

"What's your plan?"

"This container is going on the ship," he answered John B, "We can get in this way."

"You're a freaking genius," John B said as he climbed up into the container with Pope behind him.

"Woah, woah, did you think this through?" JJ questioned looking up at them from the ground.

"Yeah, this is the plan," Pope replied.

"Pope, JB, that's a trap right there," Coral pointed out.

"Exactly, we can't get out once we get in," JJ added.

"I know! Look, you guys don't have to come," John B told them, "But I have to get Sarah."

"And I'm going after my cross," Pope stated, "I understand if you three stay," he said looking down at Kie, Coral, and JJ.

Sighing, Coral looked at both JJ and Kie before rolling her eyes, "We go where you go. Pogues for life," she responded, taking her brother's outstretched hand as he helped her up into the shipping container.
