Infinity Crisis: Multiverse Warriors

The Multiverse. It is a vast expanse of infinite universes each different in their fundamental characteristics such as technology and the status quo. The cosmic being known as Mar Novu tried to see the beginning of time and created the Multiverse as a result along with another yet frightening creation, the Anti-Monitor. Mar Novu took on the responsibility of watching these infinite universes as the Monitor. Next to Mar Novu were Uatu and the Watchers who were present to watch every development in these universes but vowed not to interfere in such matters.

Since the beginning of time, these universes have persisted for centuries and developed distinct individuals, norms, and terminology from each other, some more than others. To ensure that the Multiverse itself would not collapse, dimensional barriers were created to keep the universes apart from each other. Up until recently, inter-dimensional travel between universes was non-existent except for beings with cosmic power.

Then the Snap came from the alien overlord Thanos of Earth-1999999. One snap. A snap of a gauntlet bristling with primordial power. A snap more potent than anything prior. A snap that tore apart dimensional barriers, and wiped away half of all life across every universe. Everywhere chaos unfolded, millions watching as people, animals, and plants dissipated from existence. Apart from the Paris of Earth-101915, no realm or area in the Multiverse was unscathed and some were worse off than others. Thankfully, the heroes of Earths 199999, 1, 38, and 51 banded together to defeat Thanos and his army for good and reverse the Snap, restoring the life wiped away by him. However, the defeat of Thanos was not the end of evil in the Multiverse. As the Multiverse was recovering from the Snap and more people could travel between universes, villains continued their plans as usual and were unfazed by Thanos's actions. Fortunately for the denizens of these universes, heroes or anti-heroes in some cases were here to take down these villains and ensure they would not fall. That said, some of these villains were so powerful that they were considered to be the Greatest Threats to the Multiverse by a small group of people higher than even them, the Monitor, or Uatu and the Watchers: The Monks of the Multiverse, consisting of Michael Weyer, L1701E, Batguy01, The Pighead, Movie-Brat, Ben2Darthmouth, SentinelofStories and me. We are a group of dedicated authors who take inspiration from others to craft new stories in this Multiverse. More often than not, we are involved in the matters of these universes to observe or help others in small and big ways. We can look through the shards of every universe and know what is happening or pose as different people. I was present in some universes including Earth-67, the home of Arsene Lupin, Patrick Bateman, and others, as an office worker and police officer. I look for as many universes as I can and learn what they are.

Speaking of the Greatest Threats to the Multiverse, one has emerged in another world: Dio Brando or, more accurately, Heaven Ascension DIO to us. This scornful, abused son of an abusive Italian-English thief and rival to the Joestar family already existed in Earth-186, a world where some humans and animals can harness a special power known as "Stands," including the Joestars themselves, reminiscent of the Personas of Earth-1996. However, this Dio is not the same as the one from Earth-186 but instead an alternate version from the world of Earth-8915. In this world, DIO succeeded in wiping out the Joestar bloodline and their allies. He then gathered the souls of 36 Sinners to become so powerful he could rewrite Earth-8915 itself, where everyone worshipped him as God and was unchallenged. As with so many universes, the Snap changed both Earth-187 and Earth-8915 as half of all life was gone and the status quo was upended. On Earth-187, the wrongly convicted Jolyne Kujo and her friends were able to escape the Green Dolphin Prison in the U.S. state of Florida and track down prison chaplin Enrico Pucci alongside Jolyne's father Jotaro Kujo, amidst the chaos and instability. On Earth-8915, things were just as chaotic as they were in the other universe, which made Heaven Ascension DIO less than pleased, to put it mildly. It was here that Heaven Ascension DIO became aware of the Multiverse and learned of not the Joestars from Earth-186 but other worlds. He conceived of a plan to conquer other universes and eliminate the Joestars to ensure that his position of dominance remained unchallenged no matter how many lives he would need to destroy including other villains.

Unbeknownst to Heaven Ascension DIO, The Pighead and I were organizing a team of heroes pulled across different universes in the Multiverse for the purpose of safeguarding it from further harm. This team of heroes would come to be known as the Multiverse Warriors, named in reference to the Stardust Crusaders of Earth-187. The Multiverse Warriors were the next dedicated to protecting almost every world in existence from one of the greatest threats ever known after the Defenders of the Multiverse for the Daleks and it was far from the last. This new team was modeled after the Avengers and Justice League of various realities. Its membership would change over time but the team would endure.

This is the story of how the Pighead and I organized the Multiverse Warriors.

Earth-1984

1985

The Ark

Mount St. Hilary, Oregon, United States of America (outskirts of Portland). Five Days After the Visit by the Pilot and the Meddler

The Autobots, core members of GI Joe, Spike Witwicky, and Carly Anderson were gathered inside the Ark for a special meeting in the afternoon. The special meeting in question was on the Decepticon-Cobra's presence and plans in the Pacific Ocean, partially revealed through last week's surprise attack on one of their convoys in Oregon. Though all parties knew the Decepticons and Cobra were up to something, they were not aware of the true extent of their plans since the Decepticon convoy leader revealed nothing else apart from the Pacific. More importantly, no one knew that Megatron and the Cobra Commander possessed a cube of enormous power that would ensure the world of Earth-1984 was never the same as Michael Weyer put it. But for now, no one else knew the specifics of the plans.

Optimus Prime addressed everyone in the Ark in the special meeting and shared his thoughts in the familiar voice of Peter Cullen.

"As you all know, the Decepticons and Cobra are hiding a nefarious secret weapon within the Pacific Ocean from the rest of the world," said Optimus. "Whatever this nefarious secret is, we must act quickly before they unleash this upon the entire world."

"Quick question: How exactly are we going to find the secret weapon of the Decepticons and Cobra in the Pacific Ocean?" asked Jazz.

"We don't have full intel on the activities of the Decepticons and Cobra even with Bumblebee's reconnaissance operations on Decepticons and Cobra operatives in Oregon. Even those operations didn't reveal much about what exactly this secret weapon is," said Duke. "So, how do you propose uncovering this secret weapon?"

Optimus explained the specifics of the plan to everyone.

"We will perform a thorough investigation into the activities of the Decepticons and Cobra in the Pacific and uncover their secret weapon."

"I hope this investigation goes well for us of course," Duke remarked.

"It will as long as we have faith in our efforts," Optimus told all Autobots and GI Joe operatives in the Ark.

"Understood. Let's hope we can uncover this secret weapon before it's too late," said Duke.

"I declare this meeting to be adjourned until further notice," Optimus informed the others.

The GI Joe operatives heeded the Autobot leader's words and left the Ark. As for the Autobots themselves, they stayed put in their headquarters, apart from Bumblebee, who took it upon himself to send Spike and Carly back home as usual and informed Optimus about this.

"Since the meeting is over, I'll give Spike and Carly a safe ride home," said Bumblebee.

"Very well then," Optimus told Bumblebee.

Bumblebee transformed into his vehicle mode and opened a door for Spike and Carly to get in.

"Thanks, Bumblebee," said Spike.

Spike and Carly went inside Bumblebee, who drove them back home to ensure their safety. During the drive, Spike spoke to Carly about the conversation the Pighead and I had with Optimus a week ago.

"Remember when our co-worker spoke about how other worlds needed Optimus Prime?" asked Spike.

"Eh, not much," Carly told his boyfriend.

"Maybe he must be a science geek or something. Still, this is the same guy we haven't in a while. I don't know where he or his French co-worker has gone to."

"Perhaps they got stuff beyond work or something," said Carly.

"Probably," Spike told Carly.

Eventually, Spike and Carly reached their destination. The couple exited the car, and Spike's father and younger brother were there to greet them.

"Welcome home, Spike!" said Sparkplug.

Spike hugged his father in gratitude and turned around to face Bumblebee.

"Thanks for the ride, Bumblebee!"

Spike and Carly waved goodbye to Bumblebee as he drove back to the Ark for further instructions.

Cobra Island, Pacific Ocean

The island appeared quiet and serene at first glance but the situation was far from it as it was a heavily fortified and isolated island run by Cobra. After the disastrous battle with the Autobots and Decepticons, the Decepticons and Cobra were on high alert for a forthcoming operation against their archenemies and the entire world. Cobra Island was filled with the rank-and-file of various Decepticons and Cobra soldiers, including the Constructions and Insecticons along with top-grade military equipment. The "secret weapon" possessed by the nefarious organizations was none other than the Allspark, the ancient source of all life on Cybertron prior to its eventual decay and abandonment. The Allspark itself came into the possession of Cobra thanks to the presence of a spy in the secretive Area 51 in the U.S. state of Nevada. The true presence of the Cybertronian cube on Earth was known only to Cobra until their eventual alliance with the Decepticons who took an interest in the very thing that brought them to life. Cobra agreed to share the Allspark with the Decepticons on the condition that the two of them would create an oppressive empire spanning the Earth and the entire universe together. It was as Michael Weyer put it, two forces of pure malevolence forging a dark pact that ensured the world of Earth-1984 would never be the same. With this agreement, Cobra got to work on testing the Allspark with Decepticon assistance as they knew the specifics of the cube. For several days, Cobra tested the Allspark, including its properties, to ensure it would be used as a secret weapon against the entire world. The reason why the tests on the cube lasted for two weeks was that the Cobra scientist Mindbender wanted to put it inside a box-like device codenamed "The Cosmic Cube" and test its properties to ensure it would be put to good use in their eyes in addition to building up their forces for the eventual attack. After the testing, the Decepticons utilized the Allspark as the "secret weapon," with Megatron ready to unleash havoc and chaos upon his world.

Megatron, Cobra Commander and the top-ranking members of both organizations were looking over the Allspark inside the base of Cobra Island. Among the top-ranking members standing with Megatron and the Cobra Commander were Starscream, Soundwave, the Baroness, Destro, and Storm Shadow. They were all here for a common goal, a destructive goal that would bring ruin to the world if kept unchecked and saw the Allspark as their best chance to destroy their opposition. Everything was set for the attack as Megatron spoke.

"The tests on the Allspark have yielded fruitful results," said the Decepticon leader.

"Indeed," the leader of Cobra told his Cybertronian counterpart. "Mindbender has tested the properties of the Allspark inside the Cosmic Cube and was able to extract them for our use."

"This alien cube will lead us to victory!" the Baroness boasted.

"Hopefully, the Allspark will help us crush those accursed Autobots and their meat puppets," said Starscream.

"The probability of success has increased with the possession of the Allspark," Soundwave noted in his usual emotionless and cold manner.

"For centuries, we believed that the Allspark was lost forever until we were able to recover this sacred artifact before the Autobots or anyone else could get their filthy hands on this. With the power of the Allspark, there will be no one to stop us from reaching glory!" Megatron confidently assured his fellow Decepticons and allies.

"Not even GI Joe will be able to comprehend the power of the Allspark in battle!," boasted the Cobra Commander.

"Of course," Megatron calmly reminded him. "The attack is proceeding as planned for us and with the Allspark in our possession, no one will stand in our way. I intend to use the Allspark myself and create an army of machines that will take over this planet."

"The time is right and the attack shall commence by the dawn of a new day."

"Affirmative," the Cobra Commander told Megatron.

"Now is the time for a roll call for our forces in tomorrow's attack," Megatron announced.

"It shall be done," the commander said. The Cobra Commander walked away from his cohorts and Decepticon allies to make an announcement on Cobra Island's loudspeakers.

"Attention: All Cobra and Decepticon personnel must report inside the base for a special message," the Cobra Commander informed his colleagues.

As soon as the Commander's voice came through the loudspeakers, every Cobra soldier and Decepticon reported to the base for further orders from their superiors. All were able to get inside to listen to what the Cobra Commander and Megatron had to say in another room.

"To all loyal followers of us and the Decepticons, tomorrow will mark an important day for the entire world: The day that we will rise and claim this world as our own," the Cobra Commander told every Cobra soldier and Decepticon. "Though our efforts have faced their fair share of troubles, we are still thriving and ready to claim our destiny. It is our destiny to create an empire that will last for eternity by obliterating our enemies from the face of the Earth!"

"In our possession is the Allspark, the most important artifact in Cybertronian history with the ability to create mechanical life throughout the cosmos. With this artifact, we will create a million-bot strong army able to conquer the Earth and crush our enemies once and for all. The Autobots and GI Joe stand no chance against us!" Megatron gloated.

"Tomorrow, we shall user in the dawn of a new age for this world: The age of Cobra and the Decepticons!"

The crowd applauded the short but effective speeches by the Cobra Commander and Megatron. Chants of "All Hail Megatron!" and "All Hail Cobra!" were heard from the mouths of every Cobra soldier and Decepticon present at an extremely high volume.

The Decepticons and Cobra were confident and smug in their chances of world conquest on Earth-1984. After all, the Allspark was in their possession. Megatron would use the most important artifact in Cybertronian history to create an unstoppable army that would overwhelm the Autobots, GI Joe and world governments. It was one of the most powerful objects in this universe and simple possession meant that the user could create anything they wanted from every piece of technology in 1985. The world would be in for a rude awakening that changed the history of Earth-1984 forever.

The Next Day

Mount St. Hilary, Oregon, United States of America (outskirts of Portland).

It was a bright morning over Oregon and every human, animal, or sentient being that resided in the Beaver State. For the Autobots, there weren't any real signs of Decepticon and Cobra presence so far, and thus the situation seemed rather normal. The Autobots themselves were engaged in a training session outside of the Ark in the forests of Oregon itself in the event of a possible attack with the core members of the organization such as Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Additionally, the Dinobots were present to play the Autobots or Decepticons. The session consisted of the Autobots and Decepticons with the latter played by other Autobots of course. Optimus Prime and Ratchet led the Autobots while Bumblebee and Wheeljack led the so-called Decepticons in the training session. The main objective of the session was to "eliminate" the other team until only one was left standing. Optimus oversaw the training session as the leader of the Autobots. Throughout the training session, the Autobot team fought as hard as they could to fend off the "Decepticons" but were outfought by them, with Bumblebee as the last bot standing with his teammates "down." Optimus was proud of how Bumblebee's team was determined and brave in the session even if they lost. Still, it was nothing compared to what the Decepticons did.

"You and your team fought bravely against us even if you had to fall," Optimus admired Bumblebee.

"I did as best as I could."

"Still, you are a brave soldier Bumblebee," Optimus told him. "The session is over and we must come inside."

Bumblebee, Optimus Prime, and the other Autobots went inside the Ark after the training session ended.

While inside, Optimus asked Wheeljack about recent Decepticon activity.

"Wheeljack, do you know of any Decepticon activity?"

"Nothing so far though I'll try to check through Teletraan-I. It can pick up radio and television signals across the world after all."

Wheeljack would operate Teletraan-I to find any signals of possible Decepticon activity. To his surprise, news reports of a Decepticon-Cobra attack were coming in. The attack in question took place in San Francisco as evidenced by the network's location name and the Golden Gate Bridge as the background with a female reporter describing the onslaught, fearful of the Decepticons and Cobra attacking her as the panicking cries and screams of other reporters. The news report then displayed a helicopter following the path of destruction and conquest created by the Decepticons and Cobra with scenes of burning buildings and terrified civilians along with an army of Decepticons ravaging the streets. Unsurprisingly, the attack disgusted the Autobots, who saw this as an example of pure Decepticon evil.

"By Primus," Optimus uttered. "We must stop such evil from spreading any further throughout the Earth."

"We're with you, Optimus!" said Bumblebee, representing the opinions of every Autobot in the room.

"Ready the team, we will arrive in San Francisco to stop the Decepticons and Cobra with the assistance of GI Joe," Optimus told the others. "Wheeljack, contact GI Joe."

"Already on it," Wheeljack noted as he operated Teletraan I to speak with GI Joe.

"Grimlock's on your side for the Autobot cause!" said Grimlock himself.

Teletraan I's extensive communication abilities ensured that the Autobot call for help against the Decepticons and Cobra in San Francisco was heard by the core members of GI Joe who were stationed at a special base elsewhere in Oregon with Slade Wilson and Huntress. The call was heard by everyone in the base including GI Joe themselves.

"What is this?" asked Shana.

"It's an Autobot signal for help!" Duke noted. "We must come to their aid!"

"On it!" said Tunnel Rat.

"The Decepticons are attacking this world again," Slade Wilson told Huntress. "We must act now or we shall perish."

Back at the Ark, Optimus said a familiar choice of words for his comrades.

"Autobots, roll out!"

The Autobots transformed into their vehicle modes and saved this Earth from the onslaught of the Decepticons and Cobra. The Dinobots did the same albeit as prehistoric animals. Likewise, GI Joe was out to assist their allies with military-grade vehicles such as tanks or jeeps alongside helicopters and aircraft alongside the United States Armed Forces in Oregon. The federal government ordered a naval fleet stationed in Washington State to move to San Francisco. Unbeknownst to the Autobots, GI Joe or the U.S. government, the Decepticons and Cobra were using the Allspark to create a new army with Megatron possessing the artifact.

San Francisco, California, United States of America

The scene was filled with the destroyed and charred remnants of buildings big and small, with smoke emanating over the afternoon skies of the Golden City and the Bay Area from the onslaught of the Decepticon-Cobra attack. The Decepticons and Cobra had the entire city secure with the denizens of San Francisco and other cities or towns across the Bay trapped inside as prisoners. Those who did not stay in line faced a most unfortunate fate. Decepticons and Cobra soldiers patrolled the streets to arrest or eliminate any dissidents and parts of the city were filled with hastily plastered Cobra propaganda posters urging anyone to join the organization willingly or not. These posters contained slogans like "Cobra Commander Wants You!" or "Join Cobra Today." The Constructions and Insecticons were present to ensure the city was under Decepticon and Cobra control as usual. The conquest of San Francisco and the Bay Area was complete and the Decepticons, alongside Cobra, were ready to move on to the next town or city throughout the world with the Bay Area as the first step. The bulk of the Decepticon-Cobra army was in San Francisco with some spread across other cities and towns of the Bay Area. The new army of Decepticon machines created by the recovered Allspark had done wonders for them and Cobra as their abilities and sudden appearance quickly overwhelmed the local authorities, who lacked the resources and technology to defend the Bay Area. Every Decepticon and Cobra soldier or leader was confident in their plans and felt no one could stop them, not even the Autobots or GI Joe, since they possessed the ever-important Allspark.

A special message was playing across every television in San Francisco and the Bay Area, announcing the start of the Decepticon-Cobra World Conquest of 1985. This message was found across state-of-the-art television at the time inside storefronts and homes. It was omnipresent and played for every hour to remind the terrified human population of this city and the world about their true overlords. The message was delivered by Megatron and the Cobra Commander as heard on an electronic store and a terrified man.

"To the people of Earth, a new age has arrived!," Megatron proudly announced to the world. "Your pathetic world governments may have beaten us back with their Autobot and GI Joe lackeys but it does not compare to our true strength. It is through this strength that we have crushed the puny rabble-rousers of this forsaken city and established our rule. Even as you desperately try to stop our march to greatness, our numbers have grown. By the end, we will claim this world for us and there is nothing you can do to prevent the inevitable!"

"Today marks the glorious and triumphant conquest of the Earth," the Cobra Commander confidently predicted. "For too long, the Earth has fallen into decay and ruin by the careless and destructive elite that stole the life of my brother and countless others. Now, they shall pay for their crimes starting with the grand conquest of San Francisco. When the dust is settled, we will be the rulers of this broken planet!"

"All Hail Megatron!" "All Hail Cobra!" chanted a Decepticon and Cobra soldier respectively.

Elsewhere, Megatron and the Cobra Commander were standing near San Francisco City Hall, which was spared from the damage thanks to the Mayor's surrender. Megatron was holding the Allspark on his left arm while his right arm stood still next to the Commander. They were discussing future plans for the world when Starscream came in to deliver his report on the situation.

"Lord Megatron and Commander of Cobra," said Soundwave.

"Yes? What do you wish to speak about?" Megatron inquired.

"Laserbeak and I report that all trouble-makers and rabble-rousers in this city are cleared," the Decepticon noted before returning to "inspect" the city.

"Good work, Soundwave," Megatron complimented his treacherous second-in-command. "The Bay Area is ours and so is this world."

"The Allspark has been advantageous to us in our goal of world conquest. No one will be left to stand against us by the time we're finished," said the Cobra Commander.

"Of course. We will share the spoils of war and glory with you," Megatron told him. "You and Cobra have been our most reliable allies."

San Francisco remained under the thrall of the Decepticons and Cobra, with no one able to oppose their rule for the time being.

Interstate 5, California, United States of America

The Autobots and GI Joe were in a race against time to reach San Francisco and stop the Decepticon-Cobra world conquest for good before it could spread elsewhere as the sun was setting and the skies were turning to night. The team was in northern California on the highway Interstate 5. They were coming closer to reaching the Bay Area to provide much-needed relief to not just the city but the entire world from something far worse. The Autobots and GI Joe went as fast as they could to arrive in the Golden City before it was too late though even they had their limitations for their modes of transportation as did their archenemies.

Spike and Carly were with Bumblebee and knew about the events in San Francisco. They wanted to hear the most recent news.

"Let's tune in and see what the news is saying about San Francisco," Spike told Carly.

"Yeah."

He turned on Bumblebee's radio to listen to special reports on what became known as the San Francisco Incident on Earth-1984. The first was from the government-run National Public Radio.

"The recent attack on San Francisco by the extraterrestrial Decepticons and the terrorist organization Cobra has put the entire world on the edge as officials and world governments are trying to get a grasp of the evolving situation and warned civilians to stay inside or remain hidden for their safety," said a female reporter.

Spike then turned the radio to listen to other reports on San Francisco.

"More dire news from the Bay Area, the region is under full occupation by Cobra and the Decepticons after the San Francisco," said the male host of a local radio station from Oregon. "I encourage everyone including myself to avoid detection by Cobra or the Decepticons."

"San Francisco y toda al Area de la Bahia no son seguros para nadie dentro o fuera del lugar," said another from a Spanish-language radio station from California.

Finally, Spike tuned Bumblebee's radio again to hear an excerpt of a special address delivered by none other than President Ronald Reagan inside the White House from Washington DC, addressing not just the United States but the entire world.

"My fellow Americans, the recent attack on the great American city of San Francisco by the nefarious Cobra and the Decepticons is the most catastrophic event in our nation's history. At early dawn, a force strong enough to take an entire area overwhelmed our brave men and women in blue and brutally subjugated the fair people of San Francisco and the Bay Area. Not long after this attack, a declaration of war was delivered by the extraterrestrial overlord known as Megatron and the Cobra Commander intent on spreading this subjugation to the entire world. This event, the San Francisco Incident, is a tragedy. The present crisis is dire for everyone apart from Cobra and the Decepticons and we will continue to monitor the crisis until..."

Spike turned off the radio having known everything about the reactions to the Incident. Carly then turned her head a bit to speak with Spike.

"This whole incident is just utterly shocking," Carly nervously remarked. "I mean, none of us ever expected the Decepticons and Cobra to lay siege to San Francisco. What's next, Portland?"

"I hope that Portland and the entire world isn't subjugated by those lunatics," Spike told Carly.

Inside a helicopter, Duke stood and held binoculars, observing the scene of cars driving away from the Bay Area on another side of Interstate 5 to avoid the onslaughter as best as they could, with some even crowded. The panic was prevalent and ever-trembling to the civilians fleeing from the Decepticons and Cobra. This entire crowd of civilians might even be eliminated if the conquest were to happen elsewhere.

"It's like President Reagan said, the situation is truly dire," Duke remarked. "And it will become even more dire if we don't arrive in the nick of time."

"Yeah," Tunnel Rat noted.

"If only this Spaceknight were here to protect us," said Shana.

The Autobots and GI Joe pushed forward on Interstate 5 to reach the Bay Area and confront their mortal enemies.

Oakland, California, United States of America

Night fell across the Pacific Ocean of Earth-1984 in as the fate of this world, including San Francisco, lay in the balance as the Decepticon-Cobra force took all of the Bay Area and was ready to spread elsewhere, bringing destruction and annihilation wherever they went. The attack badly damaged San Francisco itself with the non-Cobra human population living in absolute fear and panic about what will happen next. The storefronts were still playing the message from Megatron and the Cobra Commander with no other program allowed to be shown to the public. The situation was dire and bleak, and the world could do little to stop the onslaughter.

However, help was on the way in the form of the Autobots, GI Joe, Deathstroke and Huntress who drove from Mount St. Hilary to the Bay Area to stop the onslaught in time, starting with San Francisco. The drive took 9 hours, given the distance between the two locations and a separate route from Interstate 5. The Autobots and GI Joe were now in the Bay Area, ready to liberate the city from Decepticon and Cobra control with the assistance of the U.S. military which included the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force. Both entered the East Bay and confronted a squadron of Decepticon and Cobra soldiers including newly-created Decepticon machines in downtown Oakland.

"Oh no, it's the Autobots!" shouted a sports car Decepticon squadron leader.

Optimus transformed to fight the Decepticons and Cobra on the ground alongside Grimlock, Ratchet, Slug, Ironhide, and Hot Rod in addition to the Army while Jetfire and Swoop fought in the air alongside GI Joe and the Air Force. Optimus led the others in battle and fired the cannon stored inside his trailer, which doubled as a weapons armory. The others unleashed their weapons on the battlefields of Oakland. Grimlock swished at his foes with an Energon blade. Ratchet pulled dual laser pistols to use against the Decepticons and Cobra. Slug blazed through his foes with a flamethrower. Ironhide blasted Decepticons with two pulse cannons and Hot Rod used his Photo Lasers. Like their benefactors, the Army and Cobra used laser weapons in battle. As for Bumblebee, he chose to remain in his vehicle mode to protect Spike and Carly from the Decepticons and Cobra strolling the streets of Oakland. Nevertheless, he would participate in the fight against the Decepticons with his Autobot and GI Joe partners by firing two small guns attached to the front of his vehicle.

During the fight, Hot Rod noticed the appearance of Decepticons never seen before and in unusual forms such as video game arcades, televisions and even toasters or vending machines. He looked over to his commander.

"Optimus, there is something strange I've discovered about the Decepticon-Cobra army. They're not the typical vehicles but household appliances used by humans."

"I see. They are very much still Decepticons but nothing we've seen before."

"GRIMLOCK'S GOING TO CRUSH YOU!" shouted the Dinobot in combat.

GI Joe, Slade, and Huntress continued to assist Jetfire and Swoop against the aerial forces of the Decepticons and Cobra. Duke and the other GI Joe operatives fired at their enemies with laser guns while keeping a safe distance from them so as not to die. Jetfire blasted fire from his two six-barrel cannons while Swoop knocked down some Decepticons if he wasn't engaged in hand-to-hand fighting with them. Duke looked down to see Optimus and others fighting off the Decepticons and Cobra goons to see how his Autobot and Dinobot allies were faring. They were doing not too terribly against this force of Decepticons and Cobra soldiers even if the former wasn't like the force from prior.

"Our friends are doing well enough against Cobra and the Decepticons," Duke reported to his colleagues. "The Decepticons in Oakland don't seem anything like the ones before so far."

"What do you mean these Decepticons are nothing like the ones before?," asked Shana.

"Well, they seem to be household appliances and other things like vending machines,"

"Seriously? What's next a toy Decepticon!" Shana wondered.

"Either way, we have to free the Bay Area from Cobra and Decepticon tyranny," Duke reminded his teammates. "I mean, we're lucky to have a dozen or so military bases to refuel our helicopters and aircraft for the next battle."

The Autobots and Dinobots continued to fight off the existing and new Decepticons and Cobra soldiers. The numbers for the Decepticons were larger than the convoy before bolstered by the Allspark's ability to create life and it wasn't easy for the Autobots to fend off these new threats. Nonetheless, both took down the Decepticon-Cobra squadron in Oakland with the leader at the mercy of Optimus and the others as he saw it.

"Wait, don't kill me. I'll reveal anything to you," begged the Decepticon leader.

"We're not here to kill. We already know your plans for this world and we're here to stop this," Optimus reminded the leader. "You're under arrest for crimes against the people of this world." The leader and the remaining Decepticons were now under arrest by the Autobots, GI Joe and U.S. authorities for violence and harm against humanity. The surviving inhabitants were grateful for the end of Decepticon and Cobra tyranny with the defeat of the squadron and subsequent liberation. The faces of the human civilians were one of relief and joy as the Decepticons would no longer keep them under their thrall. For now, they were finally free. The Autobots, GI Joe, and the military walked slowly to the nearest television to announce the liberation of Oakland and the Bay Area to the entire world.

While walking, Optimus looked out at the night skies of Oakland and the Bay Area, pleased to see an entire people free from Lord Megatron and his goons alongside Bumblebee, Spike, and Carly.

"Optimus."

"Yes, Bumblebee?"

"You know, the show of force from the Decepticons and Cobra was much stronger than last time. I just have a feeling we might face something much worse when we get into San Francisco what with all the Decepticons and Cobra members there," Bumblebee remarked.

"Regardless of the situation, we are united together in the cause of freedom to all sentient beings across every planet in the universe including the Earth," Optimus said. "Whatever the cost, whatever the risks, we will not go quietly."

"Agreed."

The Autobots, GI Joe and the U.S. Army arrived at a local Oakland television station to deliver an important announcement: The liberation of the Bay Area. Thanks to a populace grateful for their efforts in ending Decepticon and Cobra tyranny, they were able to make a broadcast to not just the Bay Area itself but the entire world on this liberation and beyond. Optimus stood near the television station given his size where he would deliver the speech in an inspiring and uplifting tone as he always did.

"Citizens of San Francisco and the Bay Area, you are not alone," Optimus announced."We have successfully freed the city of Oakland from the shackles of Decepticon and Cobra oppression. A squadron of Decepticons and Cobra soldiers were recently routed by us as the first step in the ultimate liberation of the fair and noble people of San Francisco after the destructive incident prior. Do not fear for we are present to assist in your liberation. Join us as we will end this wretched and depraved tyranny for good. TILL ALL ARE ONE!"

Optimus' speech was heard not just in Oakland but other parts of the United States and the world, from Moscow to Berlin to Tokyo to Beijing to Sydney accompanied by the obtrusive voice-over translation of their respective countries. It was a call to arms against the tyranny of the Decepticons and Cobra. Everyone was now watching what would happen next in San Francisco.

Not long afterward, the Autobots, GI Joe, Deathstroke, Huntress and the Dinobots set out to liberate San Francisco once and for all as they moved from Oakland.

On a storefront television in San Francisco, Megatron whizzed the device with his cannon arm after the speech from his mortal enemy was broadcast to much of the world. He was less than pleased that the Autobots, GI Joe and the U.S. military were here to liberate San Francisco from him, the Decepticons and Cobra. Still, he had the Allspark in his possession and could create more Decepticons to serve him and his cadre. The re-capture of Oakland was barely a dent in his plans as the Allspark could create more machines to conquer the world.

Standing by Megatron were Starscream, Soundwave, and the Cobra Commander, all of whom watched the report and expressed similar thoughts to the Decepticon overlord. They were here with him to observe the occupied San Francisco and provide commentary on the recent events.

"The mere presence of those pesky Autobots and GI Joe backed by their lackeys in the U.S. government was to be expected," the Cobra Commander said. "Still, we have the Allspark and the ability to create an army powerful enough to overwhelm our enemies."

"Correct. The Allspark has done plenty of wonders for us and the garrison in Oakland is nothing compared to the army fielded here," Megatron said. "The recent defeat in Oakland is barely harmful to our plans. By the time these fools reach the city, they will stand no chance against us. After all, we can create more to serve in our army with the Allspark," Megatron nefariously said.

"Oh, the Autobots and GI Joe will be surprised by what we will show them," Starscream bragged. "And they will soon meet their demise!" with Starscream letting out hyena-like laughter.

Golden Gate Bridge, California, United States of America

The Golden City was in a state of lockdown after the incident, with everyone trapped inside and help from the outside world was cut off by the occupying Decepticon and Cobra forces. Not helping matters was the retaking of Oakland by the Autobots, GI Joe, Deathstroke, Huntress, and the U.S. military. Furthermore, the military itself sent a Navy fleet from Washington State to assist all three parties in liberating the city. Much of the Decepticon-Cobra force was garrisoned in the Golden City, ready to repel any opposition and the recent liberation of Oakland made it even more vital than before. Everyone was on high alert and the inevitable confrontation in San Francisco would change everything.

The Constructicons Bonecrusher and Long Haul were "guarding" the Golden Gate Bridge to ensure that no one would leave or trespass on their territory while the others inspected the city. Both were generally displeased with their jobs as they wanted to join their brothers in terrorizing the populace but did nonetheless at the behest of Megatron and the Cobra Commander to ensure that the city was secure from everyone but themselves. The job wasn't the most exciting in this world but hey it was necessary at the very least. The two Constructicons were near the bridge entrance and briefly discussed the job.

"Hey, this job is kinda boring but necessary," Bonecrusher remarked.

"I mean, we should have been with our brothers teaching the puny humans a lesson but Lord Megatron and the Cobra Commander think we should be just standing near the entrance doing almost nothing," said Long Haul.

"Still, the Golden Gate Bridge is where people go in and out of the Golden City itself and we can't let those humans get away," Bonecrusher pointed out. "If it means ushering in a new age for this useless world, I'm up for that."

"I see."

"Well, you better keep your eyes out for...Wait, what is that?"

A convoy of vehicles in different shapes and sizes quickly approached the Golden Gate Bridge. From the sight of a familiar red and blue trailer truck, it was the accursed Autobots assisted by GI Joe and the military.

"It's the Autobots!" Long Haul exclaimed.

"Not these fools again," a frustrated Bonecrusher uttered. "We need to act quickly and crush the Autobots once and for all."

Bonecrusher and Long Haul sprung into action against the Autobots and rushed to confront their mortal enemies. However, Optimus and Bumblebee transformed in time to put up a good fight against the two Constructicons. Needless to say, Bonecrusher and Long Haul were unable to put up much of a fight against Optimus and Bumblebee coupled with support from Duke and GI Joe. Both were incapacitated and the Autobots, GI Joe and the military entered the Golden Gate Bridge. Optimus and the others were now finally inside San Francisco itself.

San Francisco, California, United States of America

Across the bay, an American naval fleet engaged with Cobra forces to assist the Autobots and GI Joe in liberating the city of San Francisco covered in propaganda posters and banners of Cobra itself. Both were now in the city itself and ready to free the inhabitants from Decepticon and Cobra oppression. The two teams of heroes made their way into the city and initiated combat with the Decepticons and Cobras with the Autobots transforming and jumping into action while GI Joe manned the guns. The fight for the liberation of the Golden City was finally here.

Soundwave sent his pet Laserbeak to report the presence of Autobots and GI Joe in San Francisco to Megatron and the Cobra Commander by recording a specific message for him to carry while he fought the two with the other Decepticons.

Laserbeak flew as fast as possible to reach his superiors and report the Autobots and GI Joe. With his master having plenty of new Decepticons at his disposal, Laserbeak was able to arrive in time to deliver vital information to Megatron and the Cobra Commander. He played Soundwave's message in front of them.

"The Autobots and GI Joe have arrived. Engage."

"I knew that Optimus and his lackeys would come here," Megatron sighed. "However, we shall unleash a surprise the likes of which they have never seen!"

"How delightful," said Starscream.

Megatron, Starscream, and the Cobra Commander made off to join up with the other Decepticons and Cobra soldiers in blocking the Autobots and GI Joe from liberating the city.

San Francisco was fully engulfed in the fighting with both sides bringing out their best weapons in combat, Autobot or Decepticon, GI Joe or Cobra, and Human or Cybertronian. Every civilian in the city hid themselves to avoid getting injured or worse as the Decepticons and Cobra had anyone in the crosshairs if they weren't sufficiently loyal enough. Optimus and Duke led the Autobots and GI Joe in battle and Soundwave led the Decepticons alongside Storm Shadow before his overlords arrived.

As for Spike and Carly, both stayed with the military to remain safe as they assisted the Autobots and GI Joe against the invaders with Bumblebee in his normal mode.

"At least the military will provide us some cover against these Decepticons and Cobra lunatics," Spike said, standing behind a soldier.

The battle raged on with both sides seeking to gain the upper hand and expel the other from San Francisco and the Bay Area. Optimus and Bumblebee traded blows with Soundwave and his minions, some of whom resembled the unusual machines discovered in Oakland. In fact, more of these unusual machines were present to assist the Decepticons and Cobra and made up a bulk of the latter's forces. Optimus was the first to notice the strange machines were far more frequent in San Francisco than Oakland.

"These machines...They are more numerous in the Golden City than Oakland," noted Optimus.

"Yeah, we're seeing these more of these things!" Bumblebee told him. "We're dealing with ordinary things that are out to destroy us like toasters, televisions, video game arcades and vending machines. And they're all Decepticons!"

"Stay focused and remain confident in yourself! We'll eventually beat back the evil forces of the Decepticons including their strange machines." Optimus reminded him.

But things took a turn for the worst for not just humanity but the Autobots and GI Joe as Megatron, the Cobra Commander, and Starscream finally arrived to lead the Decepticons and Cobra above Soundwave. The fighting stopped for a while as everyone knew that the very presence of Megatron, the Cobra Commander, and Starscream was important. Optimus noticed that Megatron held a cube that seemed familiar. Unfortunately for Optimus and his friends, this cube was no ordinary object.

"Optimus..." Megatron said ominously.

"Megatron, what is this cube? Is this the Allspark?" Optimus said.

"Yes..." Megatron boasted. "We have the most important object in Cybertronian history in the palm of our hands."

"But how?" asked Optimus.

"We discovered that the U.S. government stored the Allspark and Cobra sent a spy to retrieve it," Megatron explained. "Once we obtained possession of the Allspark, we tested the artifact in the Cosmic Cube and were able to use it to create an army that will conquer this pathetic world. With this new army at our disposal, you and your lackeys can do nothing to stop us!"

Optimus was disheartened and disgusted that Megatron possessed the life-creating Allspark and was using the artifact for a nefarious purpose. Nonetheless, his resolve to liberate San Francisco from tyrants.

"No, we will not give in to your underhanded tricks and methods. We will unite to put a stop to this tyranny. TILL ALL ARE ONE!."

"Very well then. The Golden City shall be your grave," said Megatron.

"Decepticons, attack!"

The fighting resumed as Megatron led the Decepticon and Cobra forces against Optimus Prime's Autobots, Grimlock's Dinobots, Duke's GI Joe and the U.S. military. Megatron used the Allspark to create even more machines with some televisions from nearby homes leaping out the window to join the Decepticon-Cobra army. As the battle went on, the tide was turning in favor of the Decepticons and Cobra as their numbers were far too much for the Autobots and their allies to handle. They were barely able to keep up with this large army of Decepticons and Cobra soldiers with some struggling to fend them off.

"There's far too many Decepticons!" Jetfire yelled as he fought Decepticons, only to get grabbed and restrained by two of them.

Likewise, Duke and GI Joe were hounded by Decepticons with two helicopters taken down and others jumping to safety. For Duke and the others, it was utter pain as they tried to fend them off with Jetfire restrained.

"Arrrrgggghhh..These Decepticons are really getting on our nerves," Duke uttered. "They're even worse than Cobra!"

"Yeah, no kiddin'," Scarlett declared.

Slade Wilson and Huntress held off the Decepticons as best as they could on Earth-1984 but even they recognized their skills weren't enough to counter the Decepticon strength in numbers and technology.

"These Decepticons are far more numerous and powerful than before," Slade remarked as he fired a laser gun at one Decepticon aboard a helicopter.

"We have to find a safe spot if the Decepticons and Cobra win," Huntress noted.

Some Decepticons and Cobra soldiers wrecked some tanks and forcibly pulled out the men operating them, while others focused on eliminating Optimus and Duke. At this point, the battle was firmly in favor of the Decepticons and Cobra and there was nothing that the Autobots and GI Joe could do to stop the swarm of Decepticons as they pushed them back.

Megatron laughed with sadistic glee on his face as his enemies struggled to prevent his new army. "You're finished, Optimus! You and your puny lackeys cannot withstand the might of our army!" boasted Megatron. Even the steadfast and faithful Optimus was disheartened by these developments and was ready to accept defeat even if he had to perish.

Unbeknownst to Megatron, the Cobra Commander and their respective factions, the Pighead and I observed Earth-1984 after our visit and I could see through time to know the result given my vast collection of shards taken from different realities. The result, of course, was disastrous with the world being a hellish dystopia for humans with scenes of burned out and scorched buildings, human slave labor and defaced monuments and memorials around the world like the Statue of Liberty and the Great Buddha. It was pretty terrifying to say the least.

We knew any Decepticon and Cobra victory on Earth-1984 would be utterly disastrous for this world and the Multiverse Warriors. Optimus Prime was an inspiring, great leader to the Autobots and there was no doubt that he would be the right man or robot alien to lead this team. Being the ever-powerful Multiverse Monks that we are, we decided to intervene and give the Autobots and GI Joe a happy ending of sorts unlike Uatu and the Watchers.

"Pighead, the Autobots and GI Joe are going to lose if we don't do anything."

"Yeah, we really need Optimus for the Multiverse Warriors to stop Heaven Ascension DIO from killing us and taking over the Multiverse itself!" Pighead noted.

"Precisely! I know what to do: We must alter the course of reality to ensure that Optimus lives and this world is saved."

"Yup!"

So without further ado, I used my Author Avatar powers to alter the course of Earth-1984 by causing every newly-created Decepticon machine to revert to their normal forms and the Allspark to poof away from Megatron and given to Optimus Prime. As we were Author Avatars with plenty of power, no one really knew the cause of all this but it didn't as the Decepticons and Cobra no longer had the advantage over the Autobots and GI Joe.

"What? How did this happen?" a bewildered Megatron said.

"We don't know for sure," Optimus told his archnemesis. "Either way, you are no longer in control and your tyranny shall end."

"Autobots and GI Joe, let's roll out!" shouted Optimus.

What followed was a complete curb stomping of the Decepticons and Cobra by the Autobots, GI Joe and the U.S. military, as the former side could not count on their sheer numbers to crush their arch-enemies. During the curb-stomping, Megatron was knocked unconscious, which left him to be put under arrest by the authorities. With the robotic overlord knocked out and their enemies with the upper hand, Starscream, the Cobra Commander and other Decepticons or Cobra members retreated from San Francisco as fast as they could. The leadership and most members were able to make it out while others were left unconscious for them to be arrested. By then, what was known as the Battle of San Francisco was over and the Decepticon-Cobra threat was neutralized for a while. The battle alongside the San Francisco Incident changed the course of Earth-1984's history.

Inside San Francisco itself was a beautiful blonde man with a muscle mass on par with 80s action heroes witnessing these events with sunglasses. The man took off his sunglasses to reveal a sinister appearance.

As we sifted through every moment and scene on Earth-1984, we saw a collection of different headlines on the Battle of San Francisco in different languages from The New York Times to Pravda and the Asahi Shimbun. Every headline reported on the damage and impact the Battle of San Francisco had on not just the city itself but the entire world with calls for solidarity and resistance against Cobra and the Decepticons from just about every world government. It was an overwhelming and rare showing of global unity in the polarized and ideologically driven Cold War circa 1985. My decision to intervene saved the world and kept Optimus alive to join the Multiverse Warriors.

In one of the moments on Earth-1984 we shared, Optimus spoke with Duke inside a secret government facility in Arizona where Megatron was now forcibly put in stasis.

"This was the most difficult and stressful battle since our arrival on Earth with only the mysterious cataclysm claiming half of all life coming close," Optimus told Duke. "The Decepticons and Cobra possessed the sacred Allspark and were using it to create an army that was much bigger than we anticipated. But through some strange miracle, the Allspark was handed back to me and the new machines were no longer Decepticons. Still, we are grateful for this sudden turn of events."

"Cobra stealing the Allspark for the Decepticons was the biggest theft in our nation's history. We had this strange and unusual object stored at Area 51 when it was discovered and none of us could have anticipated that a faction of crazy robots would get their hands on this just to subjugate the entire world. We were incredibly lucky that the Allspark fell into your hands and the Decepticon-Cobra army was weakened somehow," said Duke.

"The Allspark is safe with us and is now kept at the Ark. As for Megatron, I know that you're keeping him where he belongs."

"This is a strictly confidential facility in which new technologies are tested and secrets too dangerous are kept for the safety of this world," Duke explained. "Gi Joe has official access to this facility as we have the full trust of the U.S. government just as the Action Force has access to similar such facilities in Europe"

"Megatron will remain in stasis forever. He won't be able to escape and rejoin his Decepticon buddies."

"One less robotic overlord is better for this world," said Optimus.

"And we will do everything to preserve it as such."

For the time being, Megatron was kept in stasis and the Autobots alongside GI Joe and the world was safe from the Decepticon-Cobra threat for now.

In the deepest recesses of the Internet, the Pighead and I were discussing Earth-1984 including the San Francisco Incident and how the results were almost disastrous for this world.

"That was almost close to something catastrophic," said myself. "Had I not personally intervened to help this world, the Autobots and GI Joe would have lost and there would be no one else to stop the Decepticons and Cobra. They're pretty lucky to have Multiverse Monks like us."

"Yeah. You're the guy who started the whole Multiverse Warriors in the first place," said the Pighead. "I mean, the Multiverse has so many threats from different worlds that teams like ours or The Spy's Defenders of the Multiverse are needed. Who knows, the next Thanos might just crop up in another world and unleash a Snap-like catastrophe that requires our involvement and not just heroes from specific worlds."

Alongside Earth-1984, the two continued the discussion on the Multiverse and the importance of forming entire teams of heroes from different realities to stop big threats to the Multiverse itself.

"Well, if and when the next Thanos appears to threaten the Multiverse and cause another Snap or something much worse, we'll be asking The Spy and his Defenders of the Multiverse to help us out."

"Speaking of our team, I know that Ezio Auditore is canonically fated to have a long-lasting and fulfilling life during and after the Italian Renaissance. We're going to do our best to preserve that and give him a happy ending. As such, I've got an ideal choice to fill Ezio's spot: Sora of Earth-2002. I've checked up his current whereabouts by glancing into this reality and discovering that he's doing just fine. Sora will grow up but he's still young enough to become a member of the Multiverse Warriors or similar such teams. Once Heaven Ascension DIO is defeated, we will visit this world and meet Sora."

"I guess."

"Good," I told the Pighead.

"As for Optimus, he's pretty much not the only Prime in the Infinity Crisis Multiverse and we'll have him meet the Council of Primes."

"Of course," the Pighead acknowledged.

"With Earth-1984 dealt with, our next world to review is Earth-84B," my Monk self told him. "We didn't get to meet Son Goku when we first came here but with the newfound knowledge on Zamasu provided to Shin and Beerus, we will be able to get him on our side eventually."

"Yup."

"And with all said and done, let's get to Optimus Prime himself."

"Of course," the Pighead repeated.

Megatron Coliseum

At a regular meeting of the Council of Megatrons, the organization saw the Earth-1984 Megatron now in cryostasis much like his variant from the Bayformers films. Everyone inside was disheartened by the results.

"Accursed Autobots!," said a female variant of Megatron. "They are degrading our glorious brother!"

"Indeed," said the Megatron of the Aligned Universe.

"They shall pay for their insolence!" yelled Predacon Megatron.

"Do not despair, my brethren," reminded War Monger Megatron. "We shall free our brother from human captivity and bring him to us. He shall know the Multiverse itself and lead us to glory!"

As before, every Megatron variant present cheered and roared with applause. Every variant was eager to free the Earth-1984 Megatron from GI Joe and conquer this world. One variant fired his arm cannon while another grinned with delight and malice.

2 Weeks Later

Optimus Prime was outside the Ark for the purpose of meditation and calm in the pristine and beautiful mountains of Oregon like a monk. No Autobot was allowed to come with him as he wanted to focus on everything in his life so far and without any distractions.

However, Optimus was met with a surprise that he had not expected. That surprise was from us.

Optimus saw his right hand struck with something unusual. It was as if his right hand was dissipating from existence and he was shocked.

"What is happening!?" Optimus wondered.

Optimus was being brought into the Internet by us though he did not know this yet as he believed he was going to die.

"I...cannot...escape this unfortunate fate. I shall accept my natural death." Optimus disappeared from Earth-1984 and faded from the mountains of Oregon with no one but animals to witness.

As for Optimus himself, he was now in a clean, white room with furniture and other appliances. The Autobot leader was confused at this sight and was unaware of it's true purpose until we showed up in monk clothing no less. He began to ask why.

"Who are you? What is this?"

"Hello, Optimus Prime!" I said.

"How did you know my name?" asked the red-and-blue Autobot.

"We know your name because we are part of a sacred organization known as the Monks of the Multiverse." Optimus himself was confused at the mere mention of our organization and the Multiverse.

"What are these Monks of the Multiverse? What is the Multiverse?"

"Long story short, the Monks of the Multiverse are us as in the people who observe just about every reality in the vast and infinite expanse known as the Multiverse."

"So, this Multiverse is a collection of different realities," Optimus noted. "What are these realities?"

"A reality is essentially a world with distinct characteristics, organizations, and individuals. You are part of one designated Earth-1984."

"As in my world?"

"Yes."

"Why did you bring me here? What are your names?"

"We brought you here because there are threats far more dangerous than your arch-nemesis, the Decepticons or Cobra," the Pighead explained. "As for our names, they are Ficboy2001 and The Pighead but call us The Pilot and the Meddler, please."

"Furthermore, these threats will obliterate now just your world but other worlds in the Multiverse."

"What are these threats you speak of?" Optimus asked the pig-mask wearing woman from France.

"You'll find out soon. Oh, and we were also the two construction workers that met you last time before the San Francisco Incident and the Battle of San Francisco."

Optimus was surprised at this revelation.

"You were Spike's friends?"

"Not exactly. We just used disguises and reality-warping powers to integrate ourselves into Earth-1984 and avoid suspicion. It's also not the first time you've met people from other universes either."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, Slade Wilson and Helena Bertinelli from another Earth came into your world and met with GI Joe during a previous battle with the Decepticons and Cobra. We know this from our boss of the Monks of the Multiverse," said the Pighead.

"But anyway, let's get to the whole Multiverse threats we're talking about." The Pighead grabbed a little shard from my bag to show Optimus a vision of Earth-8915. The shard showed scenes of Heaven Ascension DIO slaughtering the Joestar Group and maniacally laughing before using the souls of 36 sinners with Enrico Pucci to achieve his version of "Heaven" in which he became a God and ruled over everyone with an iron fist.

"Now, I have become a God over my puny subjects! AHAHAHAHAHA!"

Optimus was shocked to see evil triumph in one universe given his dedication to justice and freedom and clenched his right hand into a fist. Though he wasn't too familiar with this universe, Optimus knew what happened and recognized what we warned him about. He was ready to fight Heaven Ascension DIO.

"This evil is despicable. I will put a stop to this."

"You can't do it alone, Optimus," said me.

"Heaven Ascension DIO is a literal god," said the Pighead. "You'll get crushed if you try to fight him. What you should do is band together with other heroes across the Multiverse. They will be of great assistance."

"What are those heroes?"

The Pighead pulled a few more shards from my bags and showed visions of these heroes: Son Goku of Earth-84B, Ren Amamiya and Ann Takamaki from Earth-1996, Eren Yeager from Earth-0913, Ezio Auditore from Earth-2007, Shinji Ikari from Earth-95 and Jolyne Kujo from Earth-186. Every vision showed the hero in action against evil: Goku fighting Frieza, Ren and Ann pulling off a heist against Kamoshida, Eren facing the Colossal Titan with his Omni-Directional Gear, Ezio Auditore fighting the corrupt Borgias in Renaissance-era Italy, Shinji Ikari facing off against Sahaquiel and Jolyne escaping Green Dolphin Street Prison. Optimus was impressed with the heroes for the Multiverse Warriors and offered his services as leader to us.

"Shall I lead this band of brave men and women against evil?"

"Of course! In fact, you will be the leader and founding member of the Multiverse Warriors! The next team of multiversal heroes after the Defenders of the Multiverse!" Optimus accepted our offer the moment it was made and officially came on board as the leader of this new team though he had one more question regarding the Defenders of the Multiverse.

"What are the Defenders of the Multiverse, Pilot?"

"They are the first team of multiverse heroes formed by The Spy aka Movie-Brat to counter Freddy Krueger. We're doing the same thing against Heaven Ascension DIO and we will combine the two teams into a larger force after all is said and done."

"I shall take command of the Multiverse Warriors," Optimus told us.

Finally, our goal was accomplished: We got Optimus on board to join and lead the Multiverse Warriors. It was the first step but a significant one nonetheless and we were glad for this to happen. Having attained our goal, we decided to send Optimus back to Earth-1984 with the promise of leading a larger team of multiverse heroes.

"Well, it's time for you to return home. Don't forget that you will lead the larger team of multiverse heroes after we take care of DIO," I explained.

"Farewell, Monks. We will meet in another time."

With our Author Avatar powers, we sent Optimus back to Earth-1984 at the very same mountains where he was meditating. We were proud of our achievement and were (mostly) prepared for what came next. Unbeknownst to us, Heaven Ascension DIO was already visiting these worlds and had a plan of his own.

And that was the first chapter of Infinity Crisis: Multiverse Warriors. This story differs from the others in that characters from multiple franchises are involved, such as the eponymous team and the antagonist. Furthermore, it's a followup to Infinity Crisis: The Multiverse Files in which my Author Avatar and The Pighead visit multiple realities in search of greater knowledge and heroes to recruit from the Hasbroverse to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. The first chapter is also a followup and resolution to Michael Weyer's Counterpart Conferences like Multiverse Warriors in that it explores the world of Earth-1984 after Deathstroke and Huntress came here. Regarding the chronological timeframe, Multiverse Warriors Chapter 1 happens five days after the fifth chapter of Counterpart Conferences. Like a chapter of Infinity Crisis: Neon Genesis Evangelion, it took a while for this story to come out due to personal stuff, Writer's Block and admitted laziness in addition to this chapter taking much longer than I expected but it's here. Furthermore, I wish to avoid such behavior in the near-future not to mention that doing a multi-chapter story is tough but I still want to follow up on my promises.

Speaking of Infinity Crisis: Neon Genesis Evangelion, the first chapter of Multiverse Warriors alone is the longest I've ever done for a story surpassing the third chapter of the former story (A Brave New World, 10,795 words). It's impressive that I was able to write up such a chapter of this length considering my newcomer status but I was able to nonetheless. I can't imagine that I wrote a chapter as long as The Multiverse Files and the latter was a one-shot for crying out loud. I put as much effort into this possible and I am proud of releasing this story to this very website.

The story's title is a reference to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders which was referenced in The Multiverse Files when the Pighead and I visited Earth-186 to meet with Jolyne Kujo. Jolyne herself will be an important part of the story alongside the penultimate antagonist Heaven Ascension DIO and Earth-186 itself.

Speaking of The Multiverse Files, the specifics of our visits are covered in Infinity Crisis: The Pilot and the Meddler Hit the Road, so be sure to check out that story after reading Multiverse Warriors.

The excerpt "and it was far from the last" is a reference to the Defenders of the Multiverse from Movie-Brat's Cult of Daleks. I learned about the team's existence through a conversation with him. Because of this, I added said reference to this team beyond just the Multiverse Warriors and the Multiverse Squad. The in-universe explanation of course is that the Monks of the Multiverse have different realities and priorities leading to teams of their own to combat specific threats (i.e. Heaven Ascension DIO or the Daleks).

Multiverse Warriors has been in the back for a while as I always wanted to do a crossover story with multiple heroes fighting a greater evil after I did The Multiverse Files, a one-shot similar to the Glimpses duology and Another Side of the Glimpses. Now, it's coming to fruition and it will take nine or so chapters to finish so stick around for the ride.

As far as villains were concerned, this aspect changed the most while writing this story. Originally, it was supposed to be Randall Flag from the Stephen King Multiverse story The Stand, thanks to Weyer's Cleaning Duties. However, since some humans on Earth-66609 have superpowers to challenge Flagg, doing such a story with him felt pointless. The next was Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street, given his dream-based powers and status as a spirit but given the teaser of 2024 and his spread to other realities of the IC Multiverse, I scrapped him as well. Then I thought of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and my familiarity with the franchise. I knew of Heaven Ascension DIO, an alternate version of Dio Brando who won in Stardust Crusaders and given his godlike power I decided to make him the main villain as teased in The Multiverse Files, where he was given enough clues to hint at his true identity to observant readers when my Author Avatar and the Pighead encountered him on Earth-1996 (The Personaverse), Earth-2007 (Ubisoftverse) and of course Earth-187 (The JoJoVerse).

Some of the prologue references the original Infinity Crisis story and Sentinel of Stories' Miraculous: Aftermath.

Another reference albeit outside of Infinity Crisis itself is Marvel Studios' What If...? Season 1 in the closely-connected anthology stories format and the formation of a multiversal team of heroes. Now, I'm no fan of the current MCU post-Endgame given the drop in quality when compared to other films or television shows prior and What If...? had it's writing issues. That said, the format of the show's first season was appealing enough for me to adapt into Multiverse Warriors. There are key differences between the two, however. For starters, my Author Avatar and The Pighead are far more involved in the day-to-day matters of these realities and I do affect the story's course in each of them far more than Uatu the Watcher. Also, I meet a character from each reality and inform them about the Multiverse Warriors or other such details. The Monks of the Multiverse are essentially a more active version of the Watchers and that includes myself so expect me to affect these realities in some shape or form.

Megatron and Cobra Commander using the Allspark to transform every appliance available into a Decepticon circa 1985 is a reference to 2007's Transformers in which something similar happened during the Battle of Mission City. Speaking of Mission City, the San Francisco Incident is based on that event even if the circumstances are different. While I'm no fan of the Bayformers films, especially Revenge of the Fallen and other installments barring Dark of the Moon, the first one does hold a place in my heart as the way in which I was exposed to Transformers and in fairness the plot as well as the characters are better than the other installments. Similarly, Megatron's plane mode is taken from the Bayformers films since having him as a gun is a bit silly.

For the San Francisco Incident itself, the impact on the world of Earth-1985 is immense akin to 9/11 or the assassination of John F. Kennedy. The destruction and loss of life in a major city would be shocking to everyone and lead to massive retaliation against the Decepticons and Cobra. The same goes for the Battle of San Francisco.

In terms of overall tone, I wanted this chapter to be in line with G1 Transformers (pre-Movie) and GI Joe: A Real American Hero so you don't see violence that's too graphic or constant discussions of death even if they are present in some shape or form.

The scene at the Megatron Coliseum references Movie-Brat's Infinity Crisis Addendum: The Council of Megatrons in which multiple variants of Megatron across the Multiverse met and discussed their plans. Earth-1984 Megatron was mentioned to have not met the others so far. This will change of course with the Council ready to "rescue" him. Like the final portion of my previous story Infinity Crisis: Neon Genesis Evangelion, this was not planned initially but the publication of the story was perfect for me to write up a connection to another. In this case, Multiverse Warriors is using the Transformers including Megatron and so this reference was perfect.

The usage of Spanish is to be expected from a state with a large Hispanic population like California (my home state). The italicization of the Spanish in Multiverse Warriors is similar to the use of Japanese in Neon Genesis Evangelion.

And so with this chapter, the Pighead and I will leave our mark on the Infinity Crisis Multiverse by defending it from one of the greatest threats known in the Multiverse. Stick around for the ride and see how this plays out along with its wider ramifications.
