Prologue

Our story begins at the house of the McAllister Family, where a young boy named Kevin and his mom Kate were walking back inside. They had just returned from the airport.

"I can't believe we missed our flight." Kate said as they put their coats on the rack.

"Yeah, and Buzz didn't make it better by taunting about it." Kevin said.

"Well, at least this time, you're not left alone." Kate said with a smile.

"Yeah." Kevin said.

"So, while the rest of the family is off doing their shopping in New York, we can make our own Christmas celebration here. What do you say we bake some cookies, Kevin?" Kate asked.

Kevin smiled, "Yeah!"

Once in the kitchen, they got to work making cookies. Kate got the cookie cutters while Kevin messed with the dough. They cut several shapes, including Christmas trees, snowflakes, Santa, ornaments, and more before putting them in the oven.

While they waited for the cookies to be done, Kate turned to Kevin and asked, "Kevin, how did you react when you found out you were home alone?"

"Well, at first, I was freaked out. In fact, I screamed like this." Kevin said before he did his famous scream.

Kate laughed, "I almost had the same reaction." she said before she screamed like him, only hers was a little louder.

"Is that a challenge?" Kevin asked before he did it louder.

Kate then did hers with a more horrified expression. Kevin did it louder with a more horrified expression. This went on for a while until Kevin sniffed the air.

"Is something about to burn?" he asked before they realized the smell was coming from the kitchen. They both did the scream before they rushed and got the cookies out of the oven. Thankfully, they weren't burnt.

"That was close." Kate said.

Once they put the cookies out to cool, they started decorating the Christmas tree. They decorated it with ornaments, both traditional and humorous, such as a Tom and Jerry ornament, a Bob the Builder ornament, a Scooby-Doo ornament, and more.

Once they finished, they set up more decorations before settling down on the couch to watch TV while eating their cookies. Later, though, they heard a loud THUMP!

"What was that?!" Kate asked. She used her phone to check the ADT security system and saw a trip of burglars at the back door. Kevin saw it as well and smirked.

"Mom, I have an idea." he said.

After a few minutes, the burglars opened the back door and snuck in. As they snuck into the living room, looking for something to steal, one of them suddenly leapt into the air, yelling in pain. His friends turned and saw both his feet caught in mousetraps.

"Hey, shut up!" one said, hitting him on the head.

"We're up here, you morons!" Kevin called from upstairs. The burglars ran to the stairs, only to trigger a tripwire that opened the attic door, and out rolled an old barrel. The burglars ran for it, but got slammed into the wall by the barrel. They then decided to split up, but one of them was knocked out when he pulled a string that sent a cinder block into his face. The second one found himself hit in the head by a hammer when he kept grabbing strings before he eventually got knocked out by a block being dropped on his head from above.

By now, the third burglar was getting really nervous. He wandered around a corner and looked behind him quickly, seeing nothing. Then, when he turned another corner he was hit in the back by Kevin with a baseball bat, stumbling into a frying pan held by Kate. He kept stumbling back and forth, being hit repeatedly, like something out of a Tom and Jerry cartoon. They repeated this until the burglar was knocked out.

Later, after the police came and arrested the burglars, Kevin and Kate enjoyed their TV and cookies again.

"This was a great day, Mom." Kevin said.

Kate smiled and hugged him, "It was, Kevin." she said.

"Hey, Mom, can we spend time together more?" Kevin asked.

"Of course we can." Kate said with a smile.
