Donuts

Hitch Dreyse looked as though she was about to fall asleep. Hitch was happy that being a member of the Military Police afforded her a better chance of safety from the Titans, but she was also annoyed at how boring the job could be sometimes. All Hitch ever seemed to do was walk around the Trost District and the city inside Wall Sheena, and it was boring as sin for her. Marlowe Freudenberg, her boyfriend, would have made this shift a lot more interesting, but he was moved to another part of the map for the day, leaving Hitch all alone.

While Hitch was mumbling in annoyance about her predicament, her nose caught a whiff of something sweet. Hitch's mouth began to water as she followed the scent for the next block, hoping to get a bite of whatever she was smelling. After another minute, Hitch found the source of the smell; a box of donuts that was sitting on a table. Hitch licked her lips as she looked at the glazed, chocolate frosted, and vanilla frosted donuts in full display on the table. Hitch looked around her, not seeing anyone near the donuts, and decided to reach in and grab a vanilla frosted donut, but the second she made a move for one, a blur came flying by, kicking her hand away with enough force to send her twisting away from the table.

"Ow! Who the hell did that!?" Hitch said, darting her head in all directions while holding her hand in pain. However, when she focused, Hitch saw her kind-of friend Annie Leonhart eating one of the donuts while staring a hole through Hitch.

"Don't touch my donuts."

"What the—you have all those donuts, and you can't share!?"

"Bertholdt got me these donuts. Emphasis on 'me'," Annie said, her mouth still full of the donut she was eating.

"You have all those donuts, and you can't share!?" Hitch exclaimed in disbelief, as she pointed to the box of donuts, which was still full of donuts. Annie looked at Hitch unmoved, swallowing the donut that she had eaten before closing the donut box and putting it underneath her armpit.

"Get Marlowe to get you donuts if you want them so bad," Annie replied before walking away, keeping the box of donuts close to her body just in case Hitch tried something. Hitch glared at Annie's disappearing frame before walking away, mumbling something about hoping that Marlowe had some spare change to get them some donuts.
