I sit here, on my porch, sitting on my swing, staring into the dark. Not really thinking of anything specific, just in a relaxed daze waiting for Eric to return from a meeting.

Suddenly, I blink and standing in my line of sight is the last person I thought I would ever see here at my home, so I blink again. Nope, still there.

"So, you are the human that MY Eric added another 100 years to our marriage contract for. Thank you by the way! I am sure in short time, he will love being my consort, and by the time the contract ends you will be a faded memory. If that!"

Then she laughs like she told the greatest joke ever!

Huh, why would a vampire Queen feel the need to taunt a soon to be ex-wife, a human, soon to be ex-wife…in her mind anyway. Insecurity? Jealousy? Immaturity? Bitchyness? Hmmm…

"Why are you here?" I finally speak.

"I am a queen, I do not have to answer a human's question!"

"Why are you here?" I repeat.

"I wanted to meet the human my Eric seems so attached to and tell you he is MINE!"

"He isn't and never will be yours, even if he does become you consort. And if you had half a brain, you would know and understand that", I response softly.

"YOU KNOW NOTHING HUMAN!"

"I know Eric."

Suddenly I stand, dressed in my pink sundress, barefoot, with my fuchsia colored nails, my hair in a French braid (thank you Eric), wearing my engagement ring and ruby eternity wedding band, that Eric gave me a few months ago.

"YOU KNOW NOTHING!" she rages, again.

"I know Eric, MY husband cannot be bought, blackmailed, or forced to love someone. I know Eric", I respond as I walk down the porch stairs towards her.

"He WILL love me! Especially if you are dead! she screams at me."

I stop a few feet from her. In her rage, she is reckless. She doesn't notice her surroundings; she only wants to prove her point right. No wonder she needs Eric. I am surprised she has lasted this long as a vampire, much less a Queen. Must suck to be her.

"He will never love you", I say softly.

"YES, HE WILL!" she screams in my face.

Before she finishes, I have hit her with my fae light.

"No, he won't," I whisper as I watch the shock on her face fade to ashes.

As I stand, watching the remains of the Oklahoma Queen fade away on the evening breeze, Eric floats down in front of me.

"Lover, it seems you have been busy tonight".

I look up slowly and smile at the love of my life, shrugging my shoulders.

"Just taking out the trash honey, no biggy," I smirk as I jump over the pile of clothing between myself and Eric straight into his arms.

"Thank you, my lover, my heart, my eternity, my wife, my Fae Warrior Princess."

"You are welcome, my lover, my heart, my eternity, my husband, my Viking King."

And that was how I spent my Saturday night.

Later that evening, Eric texts Pam, "You were right, Sookie took care of the trash problem- Enjoy shopping!"
