After stopping at the leasing office to pay her rent, Sasha found herself in yet another waiting room accompanied by her girlfriend and the adrenaline running throughout her body.

A woman about a decade older appeared from the other side of the door in front of them. "Sasha?"

"Yep, that's me." Her and Marcy stood up from their seats.

"It's very nice to meet you Sasha! I'm Dr. Remington but you can call me Kate."

"Hi there, I'm Marcy!"

"It's a pleasure Marcy." They shake hands then follow her to a separate room.

"Thanks for welcoming me and my girlfriend into your beautiful office," Sasha said while looking around.

"Please take a seat, make yourselves comfortable. Help yourselves to some snacks and water over there if you'd like." Kate gestures to the small table with a mini-fridge at one end of her desk.

After getting settled in, Sasha got her new therapist up to speed with the gist of everything that happened between meeting Marcy and Anne when they were five years old to now, minus Amphibia and a few other crucial details.

However, Kate didn't seem to be convinced she had heard everything Sasha wanted to say. "Is there anything you'd like to get off your chest? A secret you've been keeping perhaps?"

"Secret? No way! Marcy knows everything about me."

"You said you used to be close to another young lady… Anne. Is that correct?"

"Used to? We're still close. If you don't count those- nevermind, this is ridiculous." Sasha put her face into the palms of her hands for a moment, then sat back up normally.

"Okay, fine. Anne and I had a falling out in high school. I'm not sure I want to get into detail as to why that happened just yet, but we didn't talk for years till Marcy came back to visit so we could surprise her for her birthday."

"Wha-," was all Marcy could let out, shocked.

"I can understand you not wanting to talk about it, but how can I help you if I don't know exactly what happened and how you feel?"

"Because I don't know exactly how I feel. All I know is that I feel like shit."

Marcy sensed that her presence could be what was beginning to make Sasha uncomfortable and possibly keeping her from providing her therapist with more important details. "Should I go wait in the car?" She asked.

Sasha hesitated, then nodded. "Yeah, I think that'd be best."

Marcy got up and turned around one last time before leaving the room. Sasha peeked through the blinds to make sure Marcy was outside before continuing, then let out a deep breath. "Anne and I dated briefly in high school and as you can tell, it did not end well. Marcy has no idea since we both promised not to tell her… but we've been patching things up lately! She offered me a job at her workplace while I finish therapy and I have an interview coming up in a few days."

Kate simultaneously dropped her jaw and the pen in her hand. "Wow, hold on. So do you really think it's a good idea to be sharing a workplace after such a rocky history while being in some love triangle your girlfriend doesn't know about?"

"Love triangle? I don't like Anne anymore! At least not like that, but I really need the money. Marcy's been working her ass off while apparently some unfinished business with my friends has made me go insane!"

"It's not just unfinished business Sasha. I'm afraid to inform you that you do show signs of bipolar disorder, but it can be completely manageable the longer you continue treatment."

"You're lucky my insurance is paying you because there's no way I could afford that."

"I would like to know a little more about your breakup with Anne, but I'm gonna give you a breather and end today's session here. Before you go, I'm going to give you my honest opinion based off what I know so far. I think Marcy deserves to know the truth. No matter how she reacts, it will be beneficial for you to finally have that load off your shoulders after all these years. Keeping secrets is not healthy, especially when it involves each other."

Sasha sighs. "You're right."

In the car, Marcy watched as Sasha gets into the driver's seat and slams the door.

"I can't believe it Sasha. So if it wasn't for me forcing us to surprise Anne on her birthday, you guys would've never talked again?"

"You would've just forced us to do something else together," Sasha's tone of voice became agitated.

"Yeah because destiny brought us together and we need to stick together no matter what!"

"So we charged some stones and helped destroy a fake moon together. Does that mean we need to wipe each other's asses too?"

"No, but I just thought it would be nice since we haven't been together in so long."

"It wouldn't be the first time we had a fight, you know, so I don't understand why you're making it such a big deal."

"Exactly, so why did that one end any differently? What could've been worse than wielding swords at each other atop a tower… twice?"

"It's complicated."

"Everything's complicated with you Sasha! You know what, just drop me off at Anne's."

"No."

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me, no! You can't keep leaning on Anne whenever you get mad at me. We're adults now and we need to work this out together."

"Anne is the reason we're even having this conversation right now."

"You're staying with me… End. Of. Discussion."

Marcy's eyes widened, surprised to hear those three words that were notorious for Sasha as a teenager. "Fine, but I'm sleeping in my own bed tonight."

"Whatever." Sasha starts the car and drives away.
