Jersey City/New Jersey
Waking up to a bizarre and sanity questioning videogame screen that appeared in front of his face is a young man named Morgan Waylen. Morgan has fair skin with messy blonde hair and brown eyes as he is dressed in a simple tank top and boxers as he looked at the blue tinted screen.

Suddenly out of nowhere, Morgan's head started pounding as a new sensation had awoken within his mind and he could feel it and knew that what he saw in front of him might not have been a hallucination.
Morgan sat up in his bed and raised his hand towards his phone that rested on the nightstand near his bed. He experimentally reached out and almost instinctively knew how to use his newfound powers and levitated his phone off its charger and brought it towards him with ease and a shocked expression on his face.
"No way…This can't actually be happening…I became an Inhuman." Morgan whispered to himself in shocked realization that his life has now been permanently changed.
After the events of A-Day the 'Inhuman Plague' has occurred all over the planet due to the Terrigen gas spreading across the earth's atmosphere by the winds and anytime an Inhuman would show up somewhere publicly they would vanish with A.I.M troops. There was a resistance for Inhumans, and they spoke out about A.I.M hunting them but they were widely disbelieved and considered terrorist.
Morgan often wondered if it was really true. His mother taught him to follow his heart and his heart was telling him that something about A.I.M wasn't adding up and that something weird was going on, but he couldn't voice that thought to anyone. If he did an angry mob would try to kill him or something since this new breed off humans was the cause of a lot of controversy and straight up hatred. Not to mention the various A.I.M troopers and robots all over the place.

"You can't be serious." Morgan said to himself before he took some time to compose himself a bit since he didn't want to wake his mother up yet. "What time is it anyway?" Morgan looked at his phone and saw that it was very early in the morning and since he couldn't go back to sleep, he cleaned himself up and got dressed in a basic T-shirt and jeans before making his way downstairs and into the kitchen as he started making breakfast for himself and his mother.
[Cooking] skill has leveled up! Level: 13-14-15!
After a while of cooking, Morgan had a decent stack of pancakes and bacon prepared and as soon as he fixed his plate and sat at the table, his mother entered the kitchen with a yawn.
Astella Waylen, Level: 9
Loving Mother/Fake Fortune Teller
Astella is in her thirties and has a similar skin tone and hair to Morgan. Her eyes are also brown, but her hair is long and reaches her shoulders and she is dressed in a simple sweatshirt and matching pants.
"Why did you wake up so early?" Astella asked before rubbing her eyes a bit before she walked to the fridge and took out a can of premade coffee drink.
"I woke up early because of a nightmare." Morgan replied causally before Astella took a long drink of the coffee before grabbing a paper plate of her own and getting her own pancakes and bacon while Morgan saw another skill alert appear in front of him.
[Lying] skill has leveled up! Level: 5-6!
Morgan felt annoyed at what he saw but he chooses to ignore it. He wasn't a good liar by any standards and didn't do it often, especially to his mother but he didn't have it in him to tell her that he had become an Inhuman with what seems to be video game powers.
"Also, why did you make so much food?"
"I just felt like making some breakfast and having some leftovers for lunch." Morgan replied as the two of them ate their food in their apartment without a care and the rest of the day went by relatively well.
Morgan waited for his mother to leave for work before he started looking up any information on A.I.M and the Inhumans situation on his laptop. His search led him onto various message boards and websites that led nowhere until he came across a message room where he started talking with another A.I.M criticizer known as 'Ms. Marvel-Fangirl'.
It wasn't just her though. Several other A.I.M deniers joined in on the conversation and Morgan managed to find a few like minded people who saw through A.I.M industries public face that was literally built on the backbone of Stark Industries after Tony Stark had his life ultimately changed thanks to the Avengers getting disbanded.
"This is nuts. So, many people are willing to speak out against A.I.M but are silenced because of people's fears of Inhumans. Inhumans are still people despite the harsh name." Morgan said to himself with his eyes lowered from his screen for a moment. "I need to look more into the resistance."
While Morgan spoke to the other people on the internet, he failed to realize that A.I.M was quick to not only notice his presence but unlike some of the other members. Morgan didn't know that he should be hiding his presence online. Even on some random social site. Sadly A.I.M has eyes and spies everywhere and suddenly Morgan's laptop started glowing an eerie and alarming purple color as it gave off sparks making him toss his laptop aside before he heard a robot voice speak through the laptop.
"Inhuman presence detected! A.I.M units have been dispatched to your location! Remain calm as A.I.M units contain the Inhuman!"
"Fuck!" Morgan cursed before a new quest appeared in front of him.

After seeing that message Morgan saw a timer appear in the lower right side of his vision which told him how long he had until A.I.M units arrived at the apartment complex and sadly he didn't have much time at all.
Morgan had instantly regretted speaking on the internet about A.I.M and how he was Inhuman. It wasn't smart and he let his guard down. Morgan also thought about his mother and how she would be affected by this situation, and he realized that his mother was now in danger, so he quickly went into his room and started packing things into a decent sized backpack before he noticed something strange.
[Your backpack can act as a medium between yourself and your Inventory. You can place objects in any container type object you own, and the items will enter your Inventory with ease.]
"I don't have time for weird messages." Morgan said in annoyance as he saw the clock ticking before he decided to use his cell phone and leave a message for his mother since she didn't pick up.
"Hey mom. I'm sorry about this mess and I'm sorry I caused it by being stupid. But I'm Inhuman and A.I.M is trying to find me, and I can't let them do that. So, I'm running away until I can figure out a way to get A.I.M off my back. I love you."
Morgan hung up his phone before he simply left it on his bed so A.I.M wouldn't be able to track him as he grabbed some medical supplies and food before putting the backpack on his back as he grabbed some sneakers and quickly left his apartment and started running towards the nearest bus station. He had enough cash to get out of the city and follow the trail left behind by the Inhuman Resistance.
The information he got should be somewhat reliable since it just got him on A.I.M Industries' most wanted list.
"Freeze Inhuman!" An A.I.M robot said loudly as it was patrolling the sidewalks before its eyes glowed a bright blue color and it charged at Morgan who quickly changed his course and started running the opposite way.
Sadly, more and more A.I.M units had found him thanks to a few other robots that had started tailing him and now Morgan was trapped inside an abandoned warehouse with A.I.M units surrounding the place.
"Shit…Okay Morgan you just need to think. What would a hero or an RPG protagonist do in this situation?" Morgan asked himself as he heard the A.I.M units pounding on the walls and doors, leaving large dents that proved that they were about to break in at any moment.
Then suddenly breaking through the glass roof of the warehouse was a girl around his age who landed on the ground with a painful grunt.
"Shit. Are you okay?" Morgan asked the girl as he went to her side and was shocked to see her quickly get up and dust herself off in her own form of panic.
Kamala Khan, Level: 12
Student/Inhuman
"Who are you?" Kamala asked as she took a few steps away from Morgan.
"The name's Morgan and in case you haven't noticed, I'm being hunted down by A.I.M bots and you just gave them a new doorway." Morgan said back sharply as a few robots did in fact drop into the warehouse from the exposed glass roof.
"Two Inhumans detected! Use of force has been authorized." One of the bots said as both teens found themselves surrounded.
"Can you fight?" Kamala asked as Morgan looked back at her and saw that her fist grew to a bizarrely huge size and her clothes seemed to grow alongside her instead of ripping apart.
"I think so. I never really fought before." Morgan admitted before the robots charged. Kamala attacked with her enlarged hands while Morgan focused and used his only real combat spell which was his Telekinetic Blast.
The attack extended from Morgan's mind as he focused on his robotic target and saw a concussive blast of force emerge in front of the robot which knocked it and the other robots back a bit as the main one took some decent damage from that attack.
Morgan quickly ducked under one of the more advanced and armored robots that was being used by the police as its electrified hand tried to hit his skull. Morgan again fired his attack and knocked the robot away before he saw some of the loose tools and materials around him as he used his Telekinetic Pull to levitate a heavy wrench from the ground and tossed it as hard as he could into the robot and saw that the wrench had impacted the robot but was only a mild hinderance as the wrench hit and lodged itself in its exposed throat but the robot simply ripped it out as sparks started to fly.
"Damn it." Morgan cursed before he backed away only to get grabbed by another robot and found himself unable to breakout since he lacked the necessary strength. Luckily Kamala stepped in and grabbed the robot that was holding him with her large hand from across the room as her arm had stretched insanely long and she crushed the robot with impressive strength before dropping it.
"Try to stay close to me. I've been trained to fight bad guys by an Avenger." Kamala bragged and the rest of the fight was Morgan playing a supportive role while Kamala did most of the heavy lifting.
You have leveled up! Level: 5-6! You've gained 5 Attribute Points and 1 Perk Point!
[Telekinetic Blast] has leveled up! Level: 1-2-3-4!
[Telekinetic Pull] has leveled up! Level: 1-2-3!
Due to the rough treatment, you've endured. You've gained 2 CON points!
Morgan felt rejuvenated by leveling up while Kamala seemed to have worked up a sweat and since the duo had managed to give themselves a small break, Kamala decided to speak up.
"So, since you're an Inhuman too, I'm guessing your trying to get out of the city."
"Yeah. A.I.M caught me on some messages boards where I stupidly admitted to being Inhuman. I didn't think that one through and all and now I'm trying to get out of Jersey and make my way to the Inhuman resistance." Morgan admitted causally.
"Really? That's where I'm headed." Kamala admitted in a bit of shock.
"Would you happen to be looking for a traveling companion? I make good company and I'm not a creep or anything." Morgan replied before Kamala glanced around at the robots they demolished.
"I guess A.I.M would be on the hunt for both of us and were stronger in numbers, but if you try anything weird, I'll punch your lights out." Kamala warned and Morgan nodded his head in agreement.
You've gained the companion [Kamala Khan]!
"Lead the way." Morgan said before the two teens headed out of the warehouse and made their way towards the nearest bus station where Kamala took the SIM or SD card out of her phone and stomped on it. Morgan didn't know which card it was, and he didn't care all that much since he just ditched his phone. Anyway, the two of them paid for their tickets and got on the bus out of Jersey.

Grand Canyon/Arizona
"Finally." Morgan said in exhaustion as he and Kamala finally made it to their destination. Kamala was leading the way and the duo somehow managed to make their way towards the Inhuman Resistance' last known location.
"Travelling wasn't so bad. It's like were taking an extended field trip." Kamala said while attempting to cheer herself up.
"You didn't tell him, did you?" Morgan asked since he knew that Kamala used a pay phone to call his father a few minutes before they entered the Grand Canyon region.
"No. I left him a message telling him that I was somewhere else."
"It's not my place to judge or anything. But it might help you and your father if you talked about what is going on. But we can worry about that later. Let's try and find the resistance." Morgan replied before the duo started walking and soon started seeing signs of the inhuman resistance all over the place.
"There gone but it looks like they've been here." Kamala noted as they came up to a few campsites and markings of the inhuman resistance symbol.
"But there are also signs of a few fights." Morgan replied as he kneeled down near a few sleeping bags and found destroyed robot parts.
'After leaving Jersey left me with two unused loot orbs but the problem is that I don't know how Kamala will react to me using a random Gacha system…It might be best if I use them now since we are likely to run into trouble.' Morgan thought to himself before he walked off after telling Kamala he was going to pee behind some rocks.
Not the most subtle excuse but it worked nonetheless and when he was out of eyesight, he quickly activated hi inventory with practiced ease thanks to the days he had to explore the mechanics of his newfound powers and he activated both loot orbs for a combination of several items.
1x Tome of living magic skill book!
1x Legion Arm Bracer!
1x Fool Arcana Token!
1x Knight Armor!
1x Deck of playing cards!
1x Hot Wheels toy car!
"Three drops were common; the bracer is rare, and the magical tome and token are epic." Morgan said before he looked into his inventory and decided to first try out the magical tome. It is a large book of sturdy leather and pages that looked to have been made during ancient times and when Morgan opened it, he was surprised.
[Tome of living magic!
This is a unique magical tome that creates a bond with the person who reads it and is designated as the books master. The contents of this book change from master to master and now you must choose which branch of magic you wish to proceed with.
Carnal Branch: This branch focuses on the magical schools of destruction, restoration and illusions. You can manipulate and control aspects of life as well as being able to unlock various abilities that can help restore you and other allies.
Forbidden Branch: This branch focuses on forbidden magical knowledge such as necromancy, curses, and other dark magics that sane people steer away from.
Occultist Branch: This branch of magic focuses on you using and mastering the powers of magical objects to their fullest potential as well as being able to create your own magical objects with various enchantments.
These branches are separate in core aspects but take note and understand that learning magic outside of these branches is not impossible or frowned upon. You'll just level them up at a slower rate of speed.
Other branches can be unlocked at higher levels! So, please select a branch in order to read this tome of magic.]
"Holy shit." Morgan whispered to himself as he thought about the three options in front of him. The occultist branch was out since he didn't really have many magical items or the means to even create them right now which means that it was either forbidden magic or carnal magic and since Morgan didn't want to go down the necromancer path since it felt wrong, he selected the carnal branch of magic and was able to read the book and learn the following spells.
[Flame Blast, Active Level: 1]
[Water Blast, Active Level: 1]
[Earth Blast, Active Level: 1]
[Wind Blast, Active Level: 1]
"This thing is actually a living thing, so it feels wrong to put it back in my inventory." Morgan said to himself before he noticed the book not only floated next to him, but it also seemed to move up and down in response to his words.
You have gained the [Living Tome] companion! You've increased your REP with the [Living Tome]!
"I guess I should give you a name now huh?" Morgan asked the floating book before he started making his way back to Kamala while thinking of a book name and it comes as no surprise that she was shocked to say the least.
"Morgan…There is a floating book next to you."
"Yeah. It's magical and it registered me as its new master. I can explain more later but right now I could use your help in coming up with a name for this little guy." Morgan said before he actually petted the book and it seemed to respond with bouncing movements.
Kamala would have thought it was cute if it wasn't so bizarre. A hard leather wizard book with no title of image cover just suddenly appearing like this basically screamed 'Cursed canyon' to Kamala.
"Does a book even need a name?"
"Probably not but I can't just call this thing 'book' all the time. It would get really old really quick." Morgan replied before the duo started following the trail towards the resistance once again.
"I never thought about giving a book a name before. How about you call it…Tome…Kas it's a magic book." Kamala suggested and the book didn't seem to react.
"I guess he or she doesn't like that name…What about D.L.C like the additional content in a videogame?" Morgan suggested and saw the book react.
[DLC] has accepted her new name and yes, she is a girl…Weird right?
Morgan simply chooses to ignore the weird message in front of him before he takes a deep breath to calm himself down and not have an aneurism from the sheer weirdness that had become his life.
"I guess the book is sucking up to its new master. I thought my name was clever." Kamala said with a bit of a pout before the two of them slowly see a massive building in the horizon that was none other than the Shield hellicarier that had once flown through the skies and housed the Avengers.
"No way." Morgan said in shock at what he saw.
"The Resistance was here at the hellicarier." Kamala said with pure excitement before charging on a head with Morgan close behind her and after a bit of a rough travel the duo made their way into the hellicarier with little trouble.
"Jeez. This place is falling apart." Morgan said as the two teens made their way through the mess of the former hellicarier while avoiding some of the hazardous debris all over the place before the duo soon made their way into the cockpit of the hellicarier and saw the glass windshield was still fully intact and that the cockpit was covered with blankets and tents and whatnot.
"They were here, and we missed them." Kamala said sadly with her head down.
"There might be signs that they're nearby somewhere in this ship. Let's look around a bit more." Morgan suggested before the duo made their way across the massive ship before a terrifying event occurred.
Morgan and Kamala had stumbled across the shield of Captain America in what almost seemed like a small shrine. Kamala made the mistake of picking it up and the duo soon heard a roar before being ambushed by a pissed off Hulk that chased them across the ship while Morgan hung onto Kamala as she stretched them through the ship away from the Hulk until they got cornered and the Hulk snatched the shield back from the terrified teens before letting out a loud roar before stomping off.
"I'm so glad I peed before I came here. Otherwise, I would have died from embarrassment and getting killed by the Hulk." Morgan said in a scarred and shocked voice as he was still shaking in fear while he looked at Kamala and DLC who were just as shaken as he was.
He didn't know how he knew DLC was scared but he could sense it and decided to pet his book a bit to try and sooth its nerves.
"We…We should go." Kamala said before the duo made their way to the deck of the ship and stood on the deck while looking out at the horizon of the Grand Canyon with a new sense of disappointment and sadness. "The resistance must have been runoff a while ago or maybe the Hulk scared them away."
"I'm sorry Kamala…The resistance isn't here but we at least know that they've been here. So, maybe when Bruce calms down and turns into his normal self, we could ask him if he knows anything about the resistance." Morgan suggested before they both heard a strange noise as they looked around and saw dozens of A.I.M robots and drones teleport into the area and on the deck before they charged at the teens.
"Not now." Kamala said before she balled up her fist and started fighting while Morgan attacked with his spells for a while but the numbers started catching up to them before Morgan and Kamala were both surprised when she suddenly grew to a miniature giant size as she started fighting more of the robots but again the numbers were overwhelming before the Hulk actually jumped through the deck from below and jumped into the action and started demolishing the A.I.M robots.
"I don't feel so good." Kamala said before she suddenly started shrinking in size and fell to the ground before passing out as she saw Morgan and Hulk fighting the other robots that neared her.
END!
A/N: Okay I am rewriting this story and changing the themes a bit for a better and more compelling story. I admit that I made mistakes with this story, and this is why I am rewriting it to try and make it better.
