It had been a week since Ralph Hinkley, a superhero, stopped the large green guys from invading his house. At home relaxing, he scratched his head through his chartreuse hair with trimmed green claws as he watched Senator Ted O'Malley's debate his opponent Jonah Marsdon on protecting the environment on television. O'Malley was up for re-election this year and was against adding any more environmental-centered laws, saying there were already plenty and pushing any more through would put undue strain on industry and the economy. The Hero had not voted for him during the last election and was definitely not voting for him this time.
Jonah Marsdon was an up-and-coming young California politician who held multiple political offices within the California State government throughout his career. He endorsed more environmentally conscious regulations to decrease and stop polluting the world. Ralph liked the young politician and what he had to say and planned to vote for him, but the young man had a hard road ahead against the incumbent O'Malley. With several industries backing him and people so worried about the economy and keeping their jobs, the Senator probably would acquire the majority vote.
As he viewed the debate on live TV, he noticed one of O'Malley's aides standing behind him shimmer for a fraction of a second to a shade of green. Oh, my God, O'Malley has large green guys working for him. Ralph was very concerned and even shivered a little about what he saw and the possibilities that this implied.
He yelled, "Pam, come in here and check this out!"
His wife walked in from the nursery carrying Alphy and said, "What is it?"
"Watch O'Malley's aide near him," pointing to the television.
As she watched, he shimmered again. She jumped in surprise, having seen the split second green shimmer.
"Did you see that? He's a large green guy. My God, Pam. Green guys are working in the U.S. Senate! I wonder how many more are assisting politicians or even in elected positions? The aliens could be taking over the U.S. Congress."
To Ralph, this was unacceptable, and a threat to the USA and his territory as his alien junk genes caused him to feel about it.
Ted O'Malley finished the debate and quickly left the premises. His aide, Charles Hampden, escorted him to the limo. They got in and drove away without answering any reporters' questions.
"You did fantastic. Mr. Strong will be pleased," he said, complimenting the Senator to ease his anxiety.
"I hope so. I'm really putting my neck out for him and his plans in exchange for his campaign support." Ted stared out the window, concerned about how deep of a rabbit hole he had gotten into this time.
