Quaid had always dreamed of visiting Jurassic Park, the famous island where dinosaurs roamed free. He had seen the movies, read the books, and collected the merchandise. He knew everything there was to know about the prehistoric creatures and their habitats. He even had a tattoo of a velociraptor on his arm.
But he could never afford to go there. The tickets were too expensive, the flights were too long, and the risks were too high. He had heard stories of people getting mauled, trampled, or eaten by the dinosaurs. He had also heard rumors of a conspiracy involving the park's owner, John Hammond, and a secret agency called Rekall. Rekall was a company that offered memory implants, allowing people to experience any fantasy they wanted. They claimed to have access to Jurassic Park's data, and could create realistic simulations of visiting the island. Quaid was tempted by their offer, but he was also suspicious. He wondered if Rekall was actually working for Hammond, and if they had ulterior motives for implanting memories in people's minds. He decided to find out for himself. He went to Rekall's headquarters, and asked for the Jurassic Park package. He was greeted by a friendly salesman, who assured him that the procedure was safe and easy. He showed him a brochure, with pictures of dinosaurs and happy customers. He told him that he could choose any scenario he wanted, from a peaceful safari to a thrilling adventure. Quaid chose the adventure option. He wanted to feel the adrenaline of being chased by a T-rex, the excitement of riding a triceratops, and the awe of seeing a brachiosaurus. He signed the contract, paid the fee, and was taken to a room where a technician hooked him up to a machine. The technician told him to relax and close his eyes. He said that he would inject him with a serum that would make him fall asleep, and then activate the memory implant. He said that he would wake up in Jurassic Park, and that he would have the time of his life. Quaid nodded and did as he was told. He felt a sharp pain in his arm, followed by a wave of drowsiness. He drifted into unconsciousness, and soon found himself in a different world. He opened his eyes and saw a lush jungle, full of exotic plants and animals. He heard a roar in the distance, and felt a tremor in the ground. He looked around and saw a jeep, with a driver and a guide. They smiled and welcomed him to Jurassic Park. Quaid couldn't believe it. He was really there. He felt a surge of joy and wonder. He grabbed a camera and started taking pictures. He asked the guide questions about the dinosaurs, and listened to his explanations. He was having the best time of his life. But then, something went wrong. The jeep stopped working, and the guide said that there was a problem with the power. He said that they had to wait for help, and that they should stay inside the vehicle. He said that it was dangerous to go outside, because some of the dinosaurs were not friendly. Quaid didn't listen. He was too curious and impatient. He wanted to see more of the park, and to get closer to the dinosaurs. He opened the door and stepped out of the jeep. He told the guide that he would be back soon, and that he just wanted to take a look around. He walked into the jungle, following the sound of the roar. He hoped to see the T-rex, the king of the dinosaurs. He wanted to see it up close, and to take a picture of it. He thought that it would be the highlight of his trip. He was wrong. He found the T-rex, but it was not what he expected. It was not a majestic beast, but a monstrous creature. It was not a natural animal, but a genetic experiment. It had been modified by Hammond and Rekall, to make it more intelligent, more aggressive, and more loyal. It was part of their plan, to use the dinosaurs as weapons, and to control the minds of the visitors. The T-rex saw Quaid, and recognized him as an intruder. It roared and charged at him, with its mouth wide open and its teeth sharp. Quaid screamed and ran, but it was too late. The T-rex caught him and bit him, tearing him apart. Quaid felt a surge of pain and fear. He realized that he had made a terrible mistake. He wished that he had never come to Jurassic Park, and that he had never gone to Rekall. He wished that he could wake up, and that it was all a dream. But he couldn't. It was his new reality. And it was his last.
