A/N

I'm gonna write a bunch of short, scene long fics that pop into my head and stick them here. After writing 'Anniversary' I wanted to write more CroMa and these ideas popped into my head over the last few days. They won't all be 10k words, don't worry. I doubt any of them would even hit 3k words. Leave reviews if you like them!

He is standing ankle deep in blood.

The world has drowned in it; no matter where he goes or where he looks, all he sees is crumbling ruins and blood, forever. The red clouds of madness have made the sun disappear, and the only thing he can hear is the howling of the wind. Now that everyone is dead and their souls have been eaten, he is finally all alone. Not even Ragnarok is talking to him after eating everyone, and with nothing left, he is quiet within him. There is truly nothing left.

Now he's no longer afraid.

Slowly, Chrona opens his eyes, the dream still fresh in his mind as he lays in bed and looks at the ceiling.

It's summer, so his cell is warm as the sunlight filters through his window. "Ragnarok?" He calls out quietly.

He can feel his body shifting as his blood moves to create the weapon partner, which bursts from his chest with a loud, "Goopi!" Ragnarok turns to look at Chrona. "Rise and shine! I'm hungry! Let's go get food!"

He disappears without hearing any counter-offers, and though he's long used to it, Chrona smiles as he stands up and looks out the window to see the blue sky and sun panting.

Later that day, Chrona meets his friends at the park. The decision to meet there had been made a few days prior; it had been too long since they'd gotten together just to relax outside. Usually, they got together to play some kind of sport, which resulted in a lot of competition... between a lot of people with large personalities, which in turn resulted in a lot of loud, excitable tension. And getting together to spend time indoors usually resulted in much of the same.

So he showed up to meet everyone, and after a fun lunch prepared by Tsubaki, took a walk around the park with Maka.

"You've been talking a lot more than usual today." She points out once they wind up out of earshot of their group of friends. He turns to her with his head tilted, and she fidgets. "Don't get me wrong, I like listening to you talk, I just meant - Ah, well you know... I like it, that's all." She taps the tips of her index fingers together as she looks at the ground.

His mind is pulled back to his dream, and then to their lunch, and he lets his head hang. "I think I've realized that I don't like being alone anymore." He says quietly. He can tell that she's turned to look at him, and he lifts his head and stands up straight. "Maka? I'm not evil." He says with quiet determination.

She blinks as she looks up at him, then smiles. This time, her smile is different; it's matching his own determination, a smile she usually shows before landing the final blow in a fight. "I know." She takes a step closer to Chrona and grins. "You're a kind person and a wonderful friend. I'm lucky to be able to know you."

He grips his arm with his hand as he blushes, losing his composure. It makes her laughs and she pokes his side teasingly. "A-And I'm lucky too. I like being here. I like being with you."

Maka loops her through his and they continue walking through the park. They don't say anything for while as he thinks of places he wants to go and who he wants go with.

Yes, even though he is still afraid sometimes, he is much happier being a student at the academy.
