Hogwarts Legacy,

Troubles of Year Seven

By: Sebastian Wade

Based After the Events of the Hogwarts Legacy video game.

Orin Frost

He was tossing and turning all throughout the night. Remembering the pain. The fighting, and the loss that had occurred that night.

Running through the cavern that was built to hold that final repository, below Hogwarts, he and Professor Fig fought their way through many goblins and trolls. They thought all was lost when Ranrok broke the repository and took its magic for himself to become a powerful dragon. Ranrok then swooped down, hitting Fig, and making the cliff he was standing on collapse.

He went after Ranrok and defeated him, only to find that Fig was indeed alive. Fig helped him stabilize the rocks above them so he could repair the repository. But unfortunately, Fig was not powerful enough to keep going.

Orin Frost. The guy who saved Hogwarts. He will forever be known as that. Orin didn't know if he wanted that mantle. But he had it, anyway.

The next morning Orin was walking down the street, the wind blowing his hair and the damp leaves not making any noise under his weight.

On his way back inside he was checking the main and looking at each piece.

"No. No. No. Wait! Yes," Orin said.

Orin had gotten a letter from Hogwarts. The envelope, and the red seal. All of it.

Hogwarts was Orins favorite place. His getaway, if you will. His foster family was crazy, and he felt they didn't really love him. He felt they only had him for the monthly check.

Orin Frost,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry—

The letter went on, however Orin was too happy to continue reading.

Orin began packing immediately and left for the school.

Upon arriving, he had met up with his previous year classmates. Sebastian Sallow, Poppy Sweeting, Natsai Onai, and Amit Thakkar.

He thanked Amit for giving him the telescope in year five. He said, "It has shown me how neat the stars can be. Even if you are just looking at them, and not studying them."

"No problem! Anytime you would like to go stargazing, let me know!" Amit said.

"Poppy! How have you been?" Orin asked, "I know this is supposed to be in the down low, so I will keep it short and sweet. I know you had to keep a lookout for the dragon we returned the egg to. How is she doing?"

"The dragon is doing great, actually. And the poachers have actually backed off from the poaching of dragons for the moment. Not to say they haven't got any ideas," Poppy said.

"And the egg?"

"Hatched. They are happy Orin. And safe, from what I can tell. Thanks to us. Thanks to you."

"Hey, Friend! How have you been Natty? Is your mother still pestering you about what happened with Harlow two years ago, when you saved me?"

"All the time. But she is getting better. She used to never leave it alone. But now she lets me come up for air momentarily. But can we blame her? Someone cast Crucio on her daughter. The torture curse is not something to take lightly," Natsai said.

Last but not least, Sebastian Sallow. Orin has had a crush on Sebastian since the year of Ranrok's attack. He doesn't know why, but he has. Maybe it is his willingness to put himself in danger to do what's right. Or the caring side of him, that Orin loves so much. The way that Sebastian gave everything to try and find a cure for his sister, Anne's curse.

Orin walked up to Sebastian and hugged him. A brotherly hug, that made him feel like he had no chance with Sebastain.

"What trouble have you gotten yourself into this summer, Orin?" Sebastian asked.

"Not as much as you, Sebastian," Orin said.

"On a serious note, I wanted to thank you."

"For what?"

"You know what."

After we all had our conversations we had sat at our house specific tables for the sorting ceremony, and the beginning of term feast.

As Orin sat down he heard someone barge into the Great Hall, much like he did on his first day at Hogwarts. Later on that same person, Serenity Borne, was placed in Hufflepuff. She sat beside him at the table.

"You know. . .you are big talk. Everyone knows what you did. To save the school. Killing Ranrok," she said, "You can call me Sere, by the way."

"Thank you? I think. . . I just did what I had to to protect us all," Orin said.

"And the ones we did lose will be deeply missed."

Orin thought about what she was saying. She was right. It was Orin's fault that Fig was gone, he thought.

Orin got up and went toward the Hufflepuff common room, and laid in his bed for hours before finally falling asleep.

Serenity Borne

Orin was walking just outside the castle grounds as an owl flew up above him and swooped and dropped a letter in front of him. As the owl continued flying away, Orin read who the letter was addressed to.

Savor of Hogwarts,

Orin Frost

Orin rolled his eyes before opening the envelope and reading its contents, and dreading what he may see inside.

Orin Frost,

After the events of the Goblin Rebellion led by Ranrok, and your participation in putting a stop to it, I require your presence at the Ministry. This, however, is not a request. As stated above, I "require" your presence. With the magic that you possess, you are a grave threat to the wizarding world. The Ministry needs to know that you are on our side. We have a task for you. If you decline, or fail to appear, we will take that as an automatic act of treason, and you will be WANTED, and sent to Askaban on sight. I hope you make the right decision.

~The Minister

"Hey, did I make you upset earlier?" Serenity asked.

Orin jolts his head up from the letter and forgets what Serenity had just asked.

"Do you want to go on an adventure?" Orin asked.

Orin did not know why he asked her, but he did, and it was too late. She had answered.

"Sure!" Serenity said.

They walked toward the train, stopping every chance they got to get new animals in Orin's knapsack.

They were deep in the forest when Serenity pulled her wand out quietly and pointed it at Orin.

"Avada Kedavra!"

"Expelliarmus!"

Orin swiftly turned around as he yelled his spell, barely missing getting hit, then the green and red beams clashed.

Orin was angry, but made a game plan, hiding behind a rock. As he left his protection he started casting.

"Avis!"

A flock of conjured birds came down and attacked Serenity. While she was distracted he casted more.

"Sectumsempra!"

Cuts. All over her body.

Then he hit a combo, to hopefully finish this.

"Glacius!"

"Diffindo!"

He froze her body like a statue, and then cast the severing charm.

After casting the charm, there was a diamond shaped thing, glowing, close to us. You could see the forest on the other side. Orin would investigate in a moment.

Orin was shaking from just fighting a fellow classmate. He did not think another classmate would use the killing curse on him.

Orin walked over to her face and looked into her eyes and saw that her eyes had turned from green to blue. She had been under the ImperiusCurse.

He quickly took his wand and took her memories. He placed them in a vile and put them in his satchel.

Orin got up and walked over to the diamond shaped thing nearby, and put his hand through it. He felt nothing, so he walked through the diamond, and before he knew it, the diamond closed behind him.

Natsai Onai Pt. 1

The longer Orin walked in the forest, the more unfamiliar it felt. As Orin came into a clearing he made the decision that he was lost. He explored, hoping that he would find something telling him what the diamond was, but it was a loss.

He aperated out of the forest and back to Hogwarts Castle grounds.

What he was not prepared for was to appear, and almost be hit with spells automatically.

He cast "Protego," as he looked around to see that the castle was in some type of battle.

He went to find Sebastian. Pushing through the different people running past, dodging the charms, and defending casts being fired in his direction, he was having no luck. Before he gave up, he saw Natsai. She was fighting to protect the school.

Orin ran over to her, grabbed her arm, and aperated into the astronomy tower.

The tower was empty, and Orin assumed the rest of the school was as well, being that everyone that could, was fighting outside.

"What the!" Natsai said with a shocked voice, and loud tone.

"What is happening, Natty? I just left the grounds!" Orin asked.

Natsai stared blankly at Orin.

"What?" Natsai said in a whisper.

Orin kept staring, waiting for an answer, debating on asking again.

"You're dead," Nastai said.

"Wrong. . . What are you talking about?" Orin asked.

"You died in Ranrok's Rebellion. We all mourned you. If it wasn't for Fig, we would have all been enslaved by Ranrok. He defeated him. How are you here?"

Orin stood there in shock. Thinking. Thinking about what he had just heard. Thinking about how it could all make sense.

Natsai took her wand out and aimed it at Orin.

"You died. . . You shouldn't be here. There is no way you should be here! And whoever you are, it is cruel that you are taking the form of my friend, and making me feel this pain again," Natsai said. There were tears rolling down her face.

She lifted her wand, and opened her mouth to cast. However, she stopped when she saw the fear in orin's eyes, and when he spoke.

"I can prove it," Orin said quickly.

Orin was glad she took his offer to prove it, because he did not want to fight his friend.

Orin conjured a pensive, and took out his memories. As he did so, he was speaking:

"I have a theory. I believe I am in an alternate universe. As you know, I have the ability to see and use ancient magic. And you may also know that the repository under Hogwarts, here, was made up of a powerful ancient magic. It makes the wielder very powerful, but it can also make you very evil, depending on how you use it. I believe that the day that I fought Ranrok, and won, and had to re-make the repository, I was exposed to so much of the magic that it made my ancient magic more powerful. Therefore, making it where I have intense emotion, I can open these rips in reality. You will see why I have this thought in a moment."

Orin dropped the memories into the pensive and let her watch them.

The memonets he showed was when he fought Ranrok. The moment he was exposed to the repository's power, and fixed it. When Fig died. And then the fight he had with Serenity, and then when he won, and ripped a hole in reality.

Natsai whipped her head out of the pensive and found that Orin was fighting people away from the pensive.

All Natsai had to say was, "I believe you."

Orin slowly started to back up and asked, "Okay, where is Sebastian?"

"Dead. . . I assume you were close?" She said in a sad tone.

Orin grabbed her hand and aperated out of the castle and into the highlands.

"Okay, talk. . . Why are we at war?" Orin asked.

"Well. I assume your Natty has a similar story as I do. My father was killed by bandits while we were in our animagus form, and such? Well, The leader of the bandits is now the headmaster of the Uganda school. Yeah, no credentials. But they want to take over this school, too," Natsai said.

"Oh!" Orin said.

"Yeah. And about your memories. . . I have read about rips in reality. They are possible. And I believe that you did it. But there is no telling where you will end up every time you do it. So trying to get back to your home is the hardest thing to imagine."

Orin knew his new mission. Getting home. On top of helping defeat this bandit headmaster.

"I will help you defeat your enemy, if you help me learn wandless magic. . . Deal?"

"Deal."

Natsai Onai Pt. 2

After learning that this Natsai's animagus form was a bull, and not a gazelle, from running into a few more bandits in the woods, Orin felt a bit safer.

It was confusing to him how many things could be different, and how many could be the same. It was scary to him, even.

"So, how did Sebastian die?" Orin asked, breaking the silence walking in the highlands.

"Well. . . He was our best protector. I can strongly say that the castle was only taken over because he is gone. However, the one day Sebastain put his guard down, the bandit headmaster decided that he wanted to see what he was taking over. Then. . . he saw Sebastian. Fighting. Taking everyone down. So he took Sebastian down," Natsai whipped a tear off her face as she said it.

"You said you assumed we were close. . . But, you said it in a tone, and say this in a tone that tells me that you two were close as well?"

"Yes. . ."

She sighed.

"I loved him. But he was taken before I got the chance to tell him," Natsaid said.

Orin just looked at her. The kind of comforting look that tells you that everything is okay.

"Sometimes I wish he used the Unforgivables, that he thought nobody knew about, and killed the bandit headmaster right then," she said, "But that is just me being selfish. My mother said that it happened for a reason. That is. . .before she was taken by him too."

"Unforgivables. The memory," Orin whispered to himself.

"What?"

Orin waved his wand in a round motion and conjured a pensive in the pathway in the highlands.

He then dug into his satchel and grabbed the memories and dumped them into the pensive, then dipped his head inside.

The memories shown consisted of Ranrok founding a child and casting the ImperiusCurse on them. He had the power of ancient magic making it where the curse lasted longer. So much so that it lasted after the fact that Ranrok died. Then it showed Serenity trying to kill Orin.

Orin's head whipped out of the pensive.

"Where was that? Why was Ranrok with the woman you fought?" Natsai was spiralining.

Orin doesn't know why Natsai even looked at the memories. Then again, he didn't tell her not to. He guessed curiosity killed the cat.

"Calm down! I don't know where Ranrok cast the curse. However, now I know why it was still affecting her, and why a student wanted to kill me in the first place," Orin said, "But I have an idea on how we can defeat the bandit headmaster. I will cast the ImperiusCurse on him, and command him to send all of his troops to prison. Then, he will lock himself up, and then the curse will wear off."

Orin opened his knapsack and let out two Hippogriffs.

"I have brown and white ones, like the time we were running from poachers," Orin said.

"What?" Natsai asked.

"I— Never mind."

They flew all the way to Uganda, with few breaks. When they got to Uganda, they gave an offer that the bandit headmaster could not refuse. Ancient magic.

Orin flung his wand in the air, and summoned lightning. Seconds later, there were five people, and the bandit headmaster surrounding Orin and Natsai.

The bandit headmaster saw Natsai's Hogwarts robes.

"Are you trying to test me, Child?" he said.

"Impiro!"

After casting the ImperiusCurse the bandit headmaster swept into the air, in deatheater form.

The others began to attack. Orin then swung his wand down and the dust and sand flew everywhere when Orin used ancient magic turning them to ash, opening another diamond.

Sebastian Sallow

Orin and Natsai walked up to the diamond, trying to study it more before they went through.

They both found that they could hear through to the next reality.

"This courtroom is here to find you guilty, or not guilty, in the murder of Solomin Sallow, your uncle," the diamond said.

Orin's heart dropped.

This is Sebastian's reality. But in this reality, he was turned in.

Orin and Natsai both turned and looked into each other's eyes.

"We need to get in there," Natsai said, "I don't know anything about Sebastian killing his uncle, but I fear, by the look on your face, that you do."

Orin just stood there before speaking:

"Let's go," Orin said.

Orin and Natsaid walked through the diamond to see Sebastian sitting in a lone chair. The chair was circled by rows of people—they were meant to vote if you were guilty or not after hearing the evidence. Then there was the judge on his high peak.

All the wooden furniture in there was black, and the tile was green and black, with little designs of snakes.

The judge began to speak again.

"We have had two students come to us saying that you have resorted to dark magic, so much so, causing your uncle's death. They say on three accounts you have taught the Unforgivable Curses to another student. Orin Frost. Correct?" the judge asked. Before letting Sebastian answer he began talking again, "They also tell us that you were so bent on finding a cure for your sister's curse that you used Avada Kedavra on your uncle to quote end quote 'protect yourself'? Is this true? Do you know what students turned you in? Do you have any idea at all?"

The judge finally let Sebastian talk.

"I have an idea. I'm assuming since you believe that Orin Frost knows Unforgivables, you have him in custody. So it couldn't have been him. So the only other two options would have been my sister, Anne Sallow, and my best friend, Ominous Gaunt," Sebastian said.

"Clever boy. How do I know. . .we know that you won't go after them if we let you leave?" the judge asked.

There was a silence that filled the room.

"I have heard enough," the judge said, "to all that find him guilty. . ."

Everyone in the room raised their hand.

In that moment Orin used a Thunderbrew potion and used his ancient magic to conjure pillars to beam out of the ground. Orin rushed for Sebastian.

A new diamond opened.

Orin and Natsai grabbed Sebastian, as lost and scared as he looked, and took him through the diamond.

Poppy Sweeting

After explaining everything to Sebastian, he agreed to help get Orin home. He said:

"As you already know, I have nothing good to go back to anyway."

It made Orin sad. Orin was already struggling being with another Sebastian. He had feelings for a Sebastian, he knew he had feelings for this one too. The short time he had been with this one, he already could tell, they were the same people. This Sebastian was just like the one in Orin's reality.

Natsai was walking ahead of Orin and Sebastian on the path. She was strong. Stronger than anyone else Orin had seen. Male or female. Except maybe Professor Fig.

Orin jogged up and began to whisper to her.

"I assume you know of my feelings toward Sebastian?"

"Yes," she said almost too fast for comfort for Orin, "Your feelings for Sebastian are becoming too hard for me to even bare."

Natsai's thick accent made Orin smile. Orin hoped it made it harder for Sebastain to hear, in addition to the whisper.

"Sorry. . . It's just. . . Love, it's just so hard," Orin said.

"It is normal to love and it is normal for love to be difficult," Natsai said, "If it would help take your mind off it, we can set up camp tonight, and I can teach you wandless magic like I promised. You never know when it will come in handy."

That night Orin, Natsai, and Sebastian all set camp and were sitting around a fire. Sebastian was eating a Chocolate Frog, and Natsai was teaching Orin wandless magic. It took all night.

Orin woke up to the unwelcoming feeling of a Puffskein tongue up the nose.

Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, and letting the blur leave his vision, a person appeared.

"Hi! I'm Poppy Sweeting! I tried to wake you before my Puffskein did, but they were quick. They have to be so the poachers don't get them," Poppy whispered, "Why are you out here? Are you students? Are you exploring?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you," Orin said.

"Try me," Poppy said, with determination in her look.

"We are hopping from reality to reality trying to get me back to mine. So far your's has been the only calm one that we have fallen into. The only way that we can open these portals is ancient magic, which I usually use in battle."

"Woah."

"Yeah."

At this point Natsai and Sebastain have started waking up.

"Well, that kind of works out. If what you say is true, and you need a battle, my reality is full of poachers. They love to put up a fight. But you have to take me with you. I am now invested in this whole indever," Poppy said.

"You are aware you will never be able to return, right?" Orin points out.

"I assumed. But I have taught my animals to care for themselves, and they are all I have had for years. They will be fine without me, and now I have you guys."

"Okay! You can come with us."

She then pulled out the same type of knapsack that Orin had and put her Puffskein inside, and brought out her Hippogriff. Orin was curious if she got the knapsack in this reality instead of him. . .

Walking the path toward the poachers, Orin slowed down and spoke to Sebastian.

"You know, in my reality, we are friends as well," Orin said.

"Good. I think we go well together," Sebastian said with a smile as he looked at Orin.

"You know, Sebastian, you're not a villain in my story, okay."

They both just looked at each other before looking back at the path.

Orin Frost Pt. 2

After fighting the poachers, walking through the diamond, and finally getting back to his own reality, Orin was greeted by a very unfriendly sight.

He told his new friends that they could not be seen, so they had to hide themselves until it was clear.

His home was being searched. Not for an object. But for him. Then he remembered the letter he got from The Ministry. Then he realized that he didn't show up. Orin gave his wand to his friends before heading toward his house.

When Orin came into the clearing from the trees, the Minister himself walked out of Orin's house and grabbed Orin by the shoulder and began to speak.

"You! We had an agreement. You failed to give you part. Not you will pay. I sentence you to life in Azkaban!"

Natsai almost walked out, but Orin looked at her, with a look of promise. A look of hope.

As Orin was walking away and toward the carriage he flicked his wrist in a circular motion and used wandless ancient magic to conjure a note. Then he dropped it. It bounced in the fallen leaves.

Sebastian,

Meet me on the top of Azkaban in three days' time. Bring my wand.

p.s: I actually love you, Sebastian. In the reality I come from I can't have you. But in OUR reality we may have a chance.

~Orin F.

It had been a few days in Azkaban. The Dementors were very depressing on Orin's soul. It took everything in him to not give everything in him.

He wanted to give the Minister a few days of peace to make him think that Orin was staying there, before he got out.

Orin finally used his wandless magic on the locks and then made his way to a clearing. That was before a Dementor came up from behind and tried to attack Orin.

He then used his wandless magic again and used the patronus charm. The Dementor was shot back. Orin aperated to the top of Azkaban. That is where the note said to meet on this day. But he saw nobody.

Then the Dementors came.

As Orin fought them off, getting weaker by the second, he started to close his eyes. About to pass out. He saw Poppy leading the charge with Natsai and Sebastian beside her on Hippogriffs, flying this way.

They landed, Natsai quickly giving me my wand.

Orin remembered what Professor Fig said to him before he died:

"You're stronger than you know. . ."

"Expecto Patronum!" Orin yelled as he pointed his wand up, with a tear rolling down his face in remembrance to Fig.

A Phoenix shot out of the tip of his wand, and defended them from all of the Dementors.

Sebastian walked over to Orin and kissed him. Kissed him, and kissed him.

"I have had feelings for my Orin forever. But when I met you they intensified. Thank you for telling me," Sebastian said.

Orin and Sebastian held hands, watching the Phoenix do its work. And Natsai was smiling at me a couple feet away. She was happy for us. And that made me happy.

After a while of staying on the down low, Orin wrote a letter to the Minister. He undoubtedly already knew Orin was gone, but he was still making sure that he knew that Orin was no threat.
