While the boys are in jail, Audrey is once more a prisoner of the underworld! Will they escape or are they doomed to be behind bars forever? Let's find out!
Now, Let's proceed with the story...
Season 2, Episode 1: A Dramatic Exit.
The sun rose high in the sky, revealing the prison that was off in the ocean, only a few feet from the shores of the city. The sun was scorching hot as the heat waves were visible, making prisoners and even guards sweat. The imantes sweated profusely as they worked hard outside on various requirements or were weight lifting.
A few sat in the shade, but trembled in fear when they saw a larger prisoner walk by, their footsteps causing the place to shake.
Inside the prison, an anthropomorphic harmonica plays solemn music in its cell, which was right next to the cell of Cuphead and Mugman.
Cuphead was holding onto the bars of his cell, with a bored and exhausted look on his face, including stubble on his face. Mugman was laying on the top bunk of their bed, who also had stubble on his face, drawing a line on the wall.
Finally Mugman broke the silence by groaning while clutching the piece of chalk
"We were tricked breaking into that cookie factory! This is what we get for listening to that Ms Chalice!"
He then threw the chalk at his brother, which landed in his head. Cuphead turned around, glared at Mugsy, opened his mouth and pulled out the chalk from his tongue.
Don't want to know how that ended up there, and certainly do not have time for that.
"I don't wanna hear another word about Chalice or cookies ever again!" Cuphead snapped, dropping the chalk to the ground.
"I told you we shouldn't have hung out with her." Mugman retorted, his eyes closed.
"No, you didn't!" Cuphead argued.
That surprised Mugman as he quickly opened his eyes and sat up, startled by the news.
"I didn't?" Mugman asked, shocked. He pondered it over and realized that he didn't say anything like that, even though normally he should have. "Well, that sounds like something I should've said."
"Yeah! Aren't you supposed to be the cautious one?" Cuphead asked, pointing his finger at his brother.
"Oh! So now it's my fault we're in prison?" Mugman retorted.
"Pretty much." Cuphead simply replied. He began pacing near the bunk bed, contemplating his thoughts. "All I know is, we gotta get outta here. I'M GOING NUTS!"
As Cuphead continued to nervously pace in the room, Mugman added in a worried tone. "Plus, Elder Kettle's glasses are probably ready by now!"
Back at the cottage, Josh was on the phone with someone, when suddenly he heard Elder Kettle call out
"Boys? I still can't find my glasses." There was a CRASH which made Josh wince, followed by Kettle adding "I've looked everywhere. Oh, I give up."
The person Josh was on the phone with was a house redecorator, since the entire living room was completely destroyed when he walked in. He was confused by all this, especially wondering where Audrey and the boys were.
Kettle then grabbed the dummies and shook them, crying "Help me, boys!"
Unfortunately, he shook them too hard and the buckets fell over, spilling water. He thought he killed the boys, causing him to scream and scramble backwards.
Josh wanted to tell him, but the guy on the other end was still chatting and figured he could tell him later.
Back in jail, the boys were in the dining area, having what seemed to be their lunch. They were both nervous wrecks as they sat near some gruesome inmates and intimating prisoners. In addition, their stubbles were gone and had a fresh look.
Don't ask me how, just go with it.
"I'm scared, Cuphead." Mugman gulped as they looked over at one of the inmates. He shot them a glare, making them shake in fear.
They attempted to move away from him, only to come face to face with a shark. He growled at them, giving them the evil eye, which made them scoot away.
They, however, accidentally bumped into the first cellmate, which caused him to bump into a giant cyclops lady. She then proceeded to grab him and began to beat the living daylights out of him.
The boys scrambled away, wincing at the fight. Ok, it's official; prison is not for everyone.
Grabbing his brother's shirt collar and shaking it, Mugman wailed. "I wanna go home! I'm too soft for prison!"
"Don't worry. We're bustin outta this joint." Cuphead assured Mugman, removing his hands from his shirt. He leaned close and whispered "Tonight, at midnight, as the crow flies."
"What does that mean?" Mugman asked.
"...I don't know." Cuphead replied.
While the boys were planning their escape from prison, Audrey was planning hers. She looked around the guest room and tried to find something sharp or pointed that would help her pick the lock.
She was looking around frantically, hoping the Devil didn't come back to check on her.
"I really don't want to see his ugly face anytime soon." She muttered. "I want to be as far away as possible. Bad enough I don't have my sketchbook with me. Would make things easier, but guess I better learn to deal without it."
Just then, she heard the door handle jiggle, as well as the Devil on the other end call for her in a sing-song tone
"Oh, my darling. I hope you have an answer for me. You know I won't take no for an answer."
"Ah, dang it. He's coming!" Audrey muttered, panicking.
She looked around the room and then saw a wig on the vanity. It looked really close to her hair and at first, was rather odd it was there, but then she came up with a plan.
She grabbed the wig and rushed to the bed, placing it under the covers but just enough to show a bit of it showing. She additionally grabbed the pillows and shoved them under the covers, making it look like she was there.
Once that was completed, she bolted behind the large closet, just as the Devil opened the door.
"My sweet little queen to be! Your future hubby is here!" He gleefully announced, as he entered the room. He was a bit surprised to see the room empty, at first at least.
He looked around until he gazed at the bed. He saw the covers were moved over and a bit of brown hair was sticking out on the pillows. A horrible grin came on his face as he stepped quietly towards the bed.
Audrey watched and could hear her own heartbeat in her ears. He sat on the edge of the bed, leaned close and began to stroke the wig.
"Oh, I am seriously happy I am not over there right now." She thought. "Time to get the heck out of here."
"Wake up, my blushing bride." The Devil sneered. "I know you're awake."
He gently shook the covers, but for some reason, she wasn't responding. At first, he thought she was a heavy sleeper. So, he shook just a tad bit harder. That was a mistake because it caused the wig to lose its position and fall off, making him jump back and scream like a girl in the horror films.
Audrey, who was starting to climb out of the closet, had to hold back a laugh when she heard him scream.
He held the wig in his hands in a panic. "Oh no! Oh this is-this is-this is just a wig! Wait, then where's-?"
He felt a tap on his shoulder and when he turned around-
*WHACK!*
Audrey had come up from behind and smacked him hard with the chair from her vanity. That caused him to get flung back and hit the wall behind him, groaning as he slid down.
Without missing a beat, Audrey bolted out of the room and down the area, hoping to get as far away as possible. She heard the Devil's roar echo in the halls, barking at his minions to find and catch her.
That prompted her to run harder and faster. After passing many hallways, she found herself in the throne room. She looked down the long red rug and saw the elevator at the end.
"Yes! Freedom at last!" She beamed.
She bolted down the pathway, making it half way there…when she felt something wrap around her waist and yanked her upwards, causing her to scream.
She was only a few feet off the ground, thankfully, but was face to face with the Devil who was once more in his serpent-dragon form. He then quickly wrapped his body around her, trapping her in his coils.
"Going sssssomewhere, my love?" He asked in a seductive tone.
"Let me go!" She shouted, squirming in his grip. "I want to go home right now!"
"Aww, but you are home, and I'll make sssssure you ssssstay here with me for all eternity." He informed her, leaning close to her face.
She turned her head away, not bothering to even look at him. He wasn't going to give up like that.
"Awww, don't be like that." He replied in a fake pouty tone. "Ssssshow me thossssse gorgeousssss eyessss of yoursssss."
"NO! I WON'T!" She shouted, her voice cracking. If there's one thing many movies taught her, looking into the eyes of a villain, especially with magic powers, is not a good idea!
She felt his body tighten around her, making her grunt and wince, but it wasn't enough to make her look at him.
I mean, he's got a stupid face. Wouldn't want to look at that.
"Hmmm, fighting back are we?" The Devil muttered.
He schemed on how to make her cooperate, when a nasty, horrible thought came to him.
He gripped Audrey's chin and turned her head back, her eyes still squeezed shut, and began to sing in a siren-like tone.
*New song: "Reverse Incantation" from Tangled; the Series (slightly edited)*
Devil: Don't be sssscared and relax...do not ressssist me...
*Audrey kept her eyes squeezed tight, shaking a bit as he tenderly stroked her cheek with his claws. She could feel his hot breath on her face, making her nervous.
Devil: Break your earthly chainsss, and give your mind to me...
*Audrey continued to ignore him, but suddenly began to slowly feel weak, as his twisted siren voice filled her ears.
Audrey: (thinking) No! I have to keep fighting! I can't…give up!
Devil: Heal what hassss been hurt...change my dessstiny...
*Suddenly, her strength began to fail and began to slowly open her eyes and felt her entire body shut down.
Devil: Let me end your ssssuffering...and bring me what issss mine...
*The Devil held her in a firm grip with ease, grasped and gently lifted her chin with his free talon, staring deeply into her eyes.
Devil: Bring what issss mine…
*His eye began to shift to red, resembling enchanting rubies. They were so mesmerizing, it was hard for her to look away.
Devil; What issss mine…
*Audrey's eye color matched his and began to sink a bit in his grip, surrendering to his power.
*End of Song*
Audrey's eyes started to become heavier and heavier as she failed to fight back against his power. Within seconds, she closed her eyes and fell asleep, her cheek resting on his coils and some hair strands falling on the frame of her face.
He smiled wickedly at her, as he brought her to his face and tucked her hair behind her ear.
He had her right where he wanted.
"That'ssss it, my queen. That'ssss it. Go to sssssleep…" The Devil lustfully whispered in her ear, kissing her cheek.
He slowly moved his body around Audrey, bundling her up like in a thick blanket. He began to nuzzle his cheek on hers, purring like a cat and deeply inhaled her hair, smelling the sweet scent of cherry blossoms.
He, still holding on to Audrey, then transformed into his normal form and walked to his throne, sitting down with Audrey sitting on his lap, her head dropping to his chest.
He wrapped his tail around her waist and ran his claws gently through her hair. She barely flinched as he tenderly stroked her cheek. He couldn't resist it, he loved keeping her close by.
"Soon, my darling, you will marry me, and the two of us will cause terror over the isle." he whispered in her ear. "You'll never leave me, ruling by my side for all eternity. You will have everything a queen could ever desire."
After a bit, he slipped her in his arms, like a groom carried his bride, and took her back to her bedchamber. Using his magic, he pulled back the covers, carefully placed her on the bed, and tucked her in.
She laid on her back with her head turned towards him as he tenderly caressed her cheek, lost in thought.
"The only issue is when she wakes up, she'll attempt to escape me again." He muttered. "There has to be a way I can get her to be mine…"
Just then, he got an idea. A terrible, wicked idea, as his mouth formed the most hateful grin anyone could have.
"Oh, it's vile, it's horrible. It's perfect." He grinned.
Standing up, he held out his pitchfork and it began to glow green. He then recited with his voice echoing;
"Be still as you slumber, both light and dark entwine.
In your dream, you won't resist me, and then, my queen
you will be all mine."
Suddenly, a great thick green cloud began to engulf the room, as the Devil leered wickedly at the slumbering Audrey, chuckling sinisterly.
The only thing that remained for a short time as the cloud covered the guest room was the Devil's yellow eyes before everything turned dark…
Back on the surface, the boys put their break out plan into action. They figured once they got out, they could find out what happened to Audrey and Chalice and see if they could clear things up.
They looked across their cell and watched the anthropomorphic clock tick until it reached midnight. They then rushed to the windows and using the metal nail filers they found, they sawed the bars of the windows until they broke off. Then, they tied their sheets together making a rope out of their cells.
They managed to escape, and slip out without any issues. However, it was extremely short lived as a searchlight landed on them, and proceeded to be chased by the hound dogs, as they screamed in terror.
They ended up being in the warden's office, as he gave their punishment
"You boys just bought yourselves a day of breaking rocks!" He barked.
And so for the remainder of the day, their ankles were chained together, breaking rocks with hammers under the hot sun.
Ok, soo that didn't work. Time for plan B.
This time they decided to slip through the ventilation shafts, hoping to have a better route of escape. They unscrew the bolts of one vent and opened the grilles, thinking they made it out.
They sadly were mistaken as they were in the yard where the hounds were. They growled at them, and then proceeded to chase the boys again.
They ended up in the warden's office, who barked at them
"You boys just bought yourselves a night in the box!"
They were then shoved in a safe-like box that was extremely cramped and the door was slammed shut and locked.
Seeing they needed to be a bit more creative, they had a third plan in mind.
This time they proceeded to dig their way out, using their own hands.
They popped up, thinking they actually got away…when they realized they were in the large dog house with the hounds. They woke up and you guessed it, proceeded to chase them.
They ended up in the warden's office a third time, who barked at them
"You boys just bought yourselves a night in the box, breaking rocks!"
And that's what happened. They were cramped in the box while struggling to break rocks. The door was slammed shut and locked.
You know, I honestly thought they had a better shot at escaping that time. Guess it wouldn't be much fun if they got out early but still.
Inside the box, it was pitch black and the only thing you can see are their eyes. Again, cartoon logic.
"We almost had it!" Cuphead groaned. "Next time, all we need is a little... Dynamite!"
After hearing that, Mugman began to tear up and started sobbing.
"What? You don't like dynamite?" Cuphead asked.
A while later, the boys found themselves in their cell. Mugman was laying on the top bunk once more while Cuphead was on the floor, reviewing his new escape route, mapped out on a roll of toilet paper.
Clean toilet paper.
"What we need is a more elaborate plan." Cuphead thought out loud. "Something way more complicated."
"No, Cuphead. What we need is to give up." Mugman sighed, before sitting up.
Cuphead looked shocked. They needed to get out and explain to Audrey what was going on. She must have been worried sick about them.
"Mugsy! What are you saying?"
"Being on the inside changes a mug." Mumgan explained, clenching his fist before facing his brother. "The only way we're getting outta here is to make the best of it, and serve our time."
Cuphead rolled his eyes at his brother who was now laying flat on his bed and snapped "No! The only way we're getting outta here is to bust out!"
"Well I'm not doing it that way!" Mugman argued, sitting up and crossing his arms across his chest.
"Well, I am doing it that way!" Cuphead argued.
"Oh? You're doing it that way?" Mugman asked, annoyed. "Well, good for you!"
Just then, they heard a bee guard call from down the hallway "Hey! Quiet down in there!"
Not wanting to make a ruckus, the boys continued to argue but this time in softer voices.
"Good for me? Great for me!" Cuphead retorted
"I'm happy for you!" Mugman snapped.
"I'm happy you're happy for me!"
"Good!"
"Great!"
Honestly, I will never understand those two. Even in this situation.
While Mugman surrendered to the life of prison and his brother hatching a new plan of escape, back at the cottage, Josh was writing a check to the redecorator, who finished cleaning up the living room.
"And there you go, my good man." Josh smiled, handing him the check. "Sorry for all the trouble."
"No worries." The redecorator mentioned. "It's what I do. I hope you can send word to people about my business."
"Don't worry. I will." Josh assured him.
He bidded farewell and headed off. As soon as he was gone, He began to ponder about something, specifically about where Audrey was.
The last time he saw her was yesterday morning right before she left for work. At first he assumed she went to work super early, but then he didn't see her last night.
"And usually I'm up before she is." He pondered. "I didn't see the boys last night either. Wonder what they're up to."
Just then, Josh noticed that Audrey's duffle bag began to glow on the table. He headed over and slipped the sketchbook out.
Normally when this happened, there would be a riddle that would focus on the events they might face. This one however, was different. It read;
"Be still as you slumber, both light and dark entwine.
In your dream, you won't resist me, and then,
you will be all mine."
Josh was both confused and a bit nervous about this. This wasn't something he saw everyday, but this really sent a chill up his spine.
"It kinda looks like a weird of some sort." He thought, rereading the wording again. "I'd better ask Monica and see what she thinks."
He slipped outside and headed to Monica's house. Once there, he knocked on the door before hearing "Enter."
He slipped in and searched the first floor until he found Monica in her library.
"Ah, Josh." she smiled. "Good to see you. What can I help you with?"
"Well, first, I gotta ask; did you see either Audrey or the boys?" Josh asked.
"Hm no I haven't seen them since yesterday." she replied, slipping down the latter she was on. "I assume they must be out adventuring or something."
"That's what I'm thinking but I would have at least seen Audrey beforehand." Josh mentioned. "Also, this came up in the sketchbook. Is it a riddle of some sort?"
She took the book from him and skimmed it over. She traced her hands over the letters, when she felt a sharp pain in her mind, causing her to groan and drop the book.
"Mon?! Mon?! Monica! What's wrong?!" Josh gasped.
"Too much…dark magic…so much to…feel!" She grunted, clutching both sides of her head.
After a bit, Monica was able to compose herself and took a deep breath.
"Mon? You ok?" Josh asked.
"Yes, but unfortunately, Audrey is in grave danger." Mon replied sternly. "Because this is not a riddle. It's a spell."
Audrey found herself in dark corridors, with only torches along the wall, providing some light. She slowly walked down the hallways, having to make some twists and turns.
There seemed to be no end insight, until she heard some faint music in the distance. She walked towards it and it got louder and louder until she came into a grand ballroom, where many other people were dancing, chatting, and laughing with one another.
The ballroom itself was a large spacious area, designed in crystal white walls and flooring, with a gold trim along the walls, the ceiling was sketched with golden designs and images, mostly leaves and curled vines.
She additionally saw a grand crystal chandelier and she wondered if they were made of real diamonds. They sparkled and shimmered no matter how long you looked at it.
She then looked down and saw she was wearing a brand new outfit. It was a white ball gown with golden star like designs, a sweetheart neckline, and puffy sleeves that were off shoulder.
She additionally wore silver heels, a black choker around her neck with a diamond in the middle, a silver beaded bracelet around her wrist, linear star pearl earrings, and a tiara in her hair.
"Wow, what a pretty ball." She gasped quietly, as she gazed around the ballroom.
"Indeed. And it's all for you, my dear" A deep voice replied.
Audrey looked and the guests parted ways as she saw the Devil sitting on a crystal throne, wearing a fancy black dress suit and the most terrifying smile on his face. The strange thing was she wasn't scared or startled by him, especially when he stood up and walked towards her.
Out of respect, she gave a curtsy.
"My darling, you look absolutely radiant tonight." The Devil cooed, lifting her chin and helping her up.
"Thank you, and you look very handsome." Audrey mentioned.
"Oh, thank you, my sweet. This is actually my best suit tailor made for such a fantastic occasion." The Devil explained, gesturing to the room. "And I wanted this ball to be extra special since you are the bell of the ball after all."
"Oh, wow." Audrey smiled, blushing a bit. "I, uh, didn't know you did this all for me. You didn't have to go through all this for me."
"Nonsense! It's the least I can do for you." the Devil insisted. "Nothing too good for you, my beautiful one."
Audrey couldn't help but smile. It was very nice of him to throw this party for her. Even though she may not like all the attention, she could still enjoy this.
Holding his hand out as he bowed, the Devil asked. "Shall we, my dear?"
"Yes, we shall." She replied.
She took his hand and began to dance with him as waltz music began to play. They twirled, made swift turns, took clean and precise steps, and Audrey felt like she was walking on air.
"My love, you dance divinely." The Devil commented, as he gently pulled her back from a twirl.
"Oh, thank you." Audrey beamed. "It's such a lovely waltz and the music is so beautiful."
"Indeed. It certainly has a way to… entrance one's senses, doesn't it?" The Devil asked, leaning close to her ear.
She listened more closely to the music and it indeed was enchanting. It sounded really dark, evil but romantic and a bit...hypnotic. So much so that Audrey began to feel more dazed and felt as if she was going under a spell.
"Yeah it…it does." Audrey replied, her voice becoming bewildered.
The Devil then carefully gestured Audrey's head to rest upon his chest, as they danced some more. The music continued to play, echoing throughout the ballroom. It was hard for Audrey to ignore it, going deeper and deeper into the spell.
After a bit, while Audie was still entranced by the music, suddenly she opened her eyes and saw that the Devil had vanished as well as the other guests. She blinked a few times, confused about where they went.
She looked around and suddenly the room began to turn dark with the light illuminating around her. She was getting more and more confused when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
A voice then lustfully whispered in her ear "I am your one true love. Come to me, true love."
Audrey began to lose her senses, as his hand moved from her shoulder, down her arm and gently grasped her hand. He turned her around and began to lead her down a long dark corridor.
It was similar to the one she walked down previously, but this time, there was a large staircase that went downward, before they passed through another tunnel.
After a bit of walking, the two made it to a large river front along with a boat ready on the surface. It was an iron skiff decorated with silver designs and fine elegant features such as twisted vines, leaves, and rose petals, as well as two lanterns hanging in front of the boat and one hanging in the back.
The inside of the boat had a small hallowed area with silk pillows and a black and red satin carpet lined and floored perfectly. The Devil helped Audrey in and stepped into the hallowed area and summoned an oar. With a push, he began to move the boat down the river.
Audrey looked around the dark and mysterious surroundings, gazing at the various candles and torches on the wall. There was a bit of a chill in the air, making her shiver a bit.
The Devil took notice and casted a spell on the oar, allowing it to move on its own, allowing him to sit behind her.
"Are you feeling cold, my dear?" He asked.
"J-just a little bit." Audrey replied, rubbing her arms. "I-I never b-been in a place l-like this before."
"Here, let me help you with that." He then wrapped his cloak around her and pulled her close to him.
Instantly, she felt warm, her cheeks turning rosy red and stopped shivering. Gradually, her eyes became heavier and heavier and fell asleep.
A bit later, Audrey fluttered her eyes open and saw that the devil carried her in a bridal position as they entered a lovely and cozy lounge room.
The area was a bit dark, but various torches along the walls provided some light. There were many sofas and cushions, dark red drapes hung from the walls, and the scent of rose petals filled her nose.
"Huh…where are we…?" She asked, her voice still dazed.
"You seemed rather tired from that dancing, so I thought it best if you'd like to rest and cuddle for a bit." The Devil informed her, holding her a bit closer to him.
"Oh, yes. That sounds nice." She replied, yawning a bit.
"Care to snuggle for a bit, my sweet?" He asked, his tone almost sounding sickening and lustful. Normally, Audrey would have picked up on that, but her mind was clouded and groggy that she didn't think about it.
"Oh, of course, I would love that." She sighed, stretching a bit.
"I knew you would." He sighed, with a smug smile crept on his face.
He then headed towards a dark purple daybed couch, decorated with a gold outline and had a variety of pillows neatly placed on the cushions. He carefully placed her down before sitting across from her.
"Do you feel comfy, my darling?" He asked, scotting closer to her.
"Oh, yes." She replied. "It's very soft and cozy."
"Good, I'm glad you like it." he replied. "I want to make sure you have the very best of everything."
The Devil then gently grasped her chin, tilting her head upwards a bit and gazed deeply into her eyes.
"My you have the most ravishing eyes." He cooed, his voice echoing a bit. "They're very warm and soft. I'm having a hard time looking away. They're completely mesmerizing."
"Oh, thank you." Audrey mentioned. "I, don't hear compliments like that."
"Well, I'm more than happy to say that." He replied. "And I'm also happy to say that you will never leave me…"
His eyes began to shift to a dark green, resembling enchanting emeralds. They were so appealing that Audrey couldn't look away. Her eyes then matched his, feeling as if time stood completely still.
The Devil then slowly wrapped his tail around her waist, trapping her arms to her sides, and moved her towards him, placing her on his lap. With his free claw, he began to tenderly caress her cheek, grinning from ear to ear.
"Now, I have you all to myself." He sneered. "I've been searching for a queen to rule by my side. And you are just what I'm looking for."
He leaned close and pressed his nose to the crook of her neck, deeply inhaling her perfume. She barely flinched as he kissed her neck before trailing up to her cheek.
"You're blushing, my bride." He whispered lustfully in her ear. "You must love me."
Audrey was silent, as she was deep under his spell. He didn't seem to mind, as it gave him the chance to have her.
"Ahhh, speechless I see. No worries. I know you have a hard time telling me how much you love me." He chuckled, running his claw through her hair. "There are many pleasures to being my queen of the underworld."
"Pleasures…" Audrey repeated, her voice sounding more monotone.
"Why, of course. I want you to be excited, since you will be my wife and queen." He grinned. "You will have all the riches at your feet, your lips will only taste the most refreshing drinks and the most mouthwatering meals, you'll wear the most dazzling ballgowns and slumber ever so blissfully under the warm and soft covers."
He slowly nuzzled his cheek on hers, as she closed her eyes and took a deep sigh. Her entire body began to ease, making his tail wrap around her more, tightening its grip a bit.
"Don't be scared, my sweet little kitten." The Devil cooed in her ear. "My tail likes you very much. It just wants to make sure you're nice and snuggled up."
"Of course, my king." Audrey replied, in a dazed tone. "I feel so…warm."
He looked back at her and wrapped his arm around her waist, gesturing her head to his chest as he petted her hair. A terrible grin formed on his face, gazing upon Audrey's dazed expression.
"I just love having so near to me, my love." He softly whispered. "I can always have you close and safe in my embrace, where nothing and nobody can ever take you away from me."
"Close and…safe…with you." Audrey softly responded.
"Yes…" He lustfully hissed.
Her eyes were becoming heavier and heavier, but the spell was keeping her from falling asleep. She felt him nuzzle his face in her hair, purring a bit and then kissed her cheek.
She was completely under his power.
"At last… you're all mine."
"…All…yours…."
Back in reality and in prison, the boys used their time to meet their needs.
Cuphead began working on his escape plan He had to be extra careful when he drew out his plans. The guards would often walk by so he had to keep the plans hidden. Once it was ready, he began sneaking away many items around the prison, such as a metal spoon and some mashed potatoes which he smuggled in his shoe.
Ok, gross.
Mugman, on the other hand, made the most of his time by doing some volunteer work.
He worked in the factory making metal license plates, played jacks with a few other inmates, stitched embroidery that read "Home Sweet Cell" and helped out with the laundry, handing back various clothing items to prisoners.
He was able to keep his mind off of things and hoped to start fresh here.
When it was time to deliver laundry to the prisoners, he made quick work of the different floors before coming to his, wheeling the laundry cart with him.
"Howdy, Harry Hatchet-Face!" He smiled, as he approached the cell of an anthropomorphic ax. "I patched up the holes on your favorite socks!"
He handed him a pair of white socks, which Harry was more than happy to have back.
"Wow! Thanks, Mugsy!" He beamed. "Good as new!"
He then headed over to the next cell where an anthropomorphic bull with a hook where his left hand was supposed to be.
"Morning, Lefty!" Mugman beamed, reaching down and pulling out another striped jumpsuit. "Got that blood outta your jumpsuit!"
I'm sorry, blood?! What did he do in prison?
"Thanks! You're the best, Mugsy!" Lefty smiled, taking the jumpsuit with his hook.
Now, this next prisoner made Mugman feel nervous. It was an enormous anthropomorphic lady cyclops, the same one that beat up the other inmate at the beginning of this chapter.
Mugman felt his heart race and sweat drip from his head, as he carefully pulled out a neatly folded pink blanket, holding it up to her.
"H-here's your blanket, M-miss Cyclops." She simply grunted, bended the bars to the side, and picked up the blanket with two fingers from a trembling Mugman. She placed the blanket on her leg before moving the bars back in place.
She proceeded to give him a few grunts before he replied with "You're welcome!"
He then scurried away, hoping to finish the rest of the deliveries. Unknown to him, she picked up her blanket and took a whiff of it, inhaling the fresh scent of fabric softener. She rubbed it gently over her cheek, feeling its warmth, sighing in satisfaction.
Hours passed and it was nighttime again. Cuphead was finishing re-reading over the map and his escape plan.
"Down the deal, around the thing, up the doodad, through the-" He read over, but was interrupted by his brother asking him
"Oh, still here, are you?"
"Not for long. I got it all figured out." Cuphead confidently replied. Mugman simply scoffed at that comment and retreated to the top bunk.
"Come on, Mugsy! We can escape together." Cuphead affirmed him.
"For the last time, Cuphead. I'm making the best of it." Mugman filled him in, stretching and then laying on his bed.
"You sure? 'Cause I'm busting out of this joint." Cuphead reminded him.
"Then go ahead and go." Mugman retorted.
"Fine! I will!" Cuphead snapped.
However, their argument once more caught the attention of the guard as he barked.
"Pipe down in there! Lights out!" The lights went out as the boys glared at each other again.
"So go then, good for you." Mugman whispered.
"Great for me."Cuphead sharply whispered back.
"I'm very happy for you."
"I can still hear you!" The guard shouted down the hallway.
Whispering more softly, Cuphead snapped. "I'm happy you're happy for me."
"Great." Mugman softly snapped as the boys glared at each other's faces irritatedly.
"Good."
"Good."
"Good."
"Great."
"Great."
"Hmph!" they grunted, turning their backs to each other.
Cuphead approached Mugman's embroidery and lifted it, revealing a deep and secret tunnel. Now, if you have seen many cartoons where someone's in jail, or have seen the movie "Shawshank Redemption", you know they have the classic tunnel to escape gag.
"Last chance." Cuphead warned him.
"I've got everything I need right here." Mugman snapped, lying on his bed and giving Cuphead the cold shoulder.
Seeing that there was no way to convince his brother, Cuphead slipped in and heartlessly replied. "Bye, I guess."
As he vanished in the tunnel, Mugman's face fell, feeling a tear slipped down his cheek
He knew that Cuphead was just trying, seeing that he was home sick and ready to leave the prison.
Mugs began to miss all the amazing things outside of jail; warm breakfast on the table, a welcoming bath after a day of playing, his cozy reading nook at the library, the goat in the front yard licking his face, his snuggly pajamas, Elder Kettle, Josh, Audrey and Monica.
As he thought about them, he wondered if they must have been worried sick about them, especially Audrey, since she was with them in the cookie factory along with Ms. Chalice.
"What still doesn't make sense is where she went when the cops appeared." Mugman thought. "She wouldn't leave us like that. Unless something happened…."
He began processing many reasonable answers, trying to see if one would be more logical.
Meanwhile, deep in the tunnel, Cuphead had made good progress of digging using only a metal spoon. Sadly, it snapped in two, so he had to use his head to dig the rest of the way out.
He finally came to a long metal pipe. He removed his shoe and splattered the mashed potatoes he smuggled from earlier.
Again, eww.
He additionally stuck a short string, securing it in place. He proceeded to strike together two rocks, until he lit the match. It went just like a light would on a stick of dynamite and-
*KABOOM!*
It exploded, making the pipe burst and water spilled in. Once the water was drained, he slipped in the pipe and began to crawl to the top. Wow, gotta say, never thought mashed potatoes would be a good resource of dynamite.
Next time I'm in jail, I'll keep that in mind.
No, I've never been in jail. You know what I mean.
After trekking his way up, he saw a light coming from the manhole above. He slipped a hairpin that he stored in his mouth. He unscrewed the bolts from their place and moved the manhole to the side.
"Freedom!" He cried, popping his head up from the manhole. It was short lived since he quickly found himself in a different room of the prison, consisting of a large machine with a pull handle, a bee security guard and the electric chair.
Without saying a word, the bee grabbed Cuphead, strapping him to the chair.
"Uh-oh." He gulped. Then, the bee placed the helmet on him and pulled the handle.
Erm, for this next part, just read what's read at the bottom and go from there.
*ZAP ZAP ZAP!*
Much later, Mugman was sleeping after thinking for a long period of time about Audrey, when he heard the cell door open and shut, startling him.
There stood before him was Cuphead burnt to a crisp. Mugman narrowed his eyes at him, sarcastically announcing "Oh, look who's back. Take it your little escape plan was a bust?"
"I didn't make it." Cuphead groaned, still feeling static from the shock. "I give up."
That took Mumgan for a shock. He's never seen his brother throw in the towel when things got crazy, even when the Devil was involved. He looked at the bottom bunk, where Cuphead was slumped on.
"What? You're giving up? But you never give up." He reminded him.
"I give up not giving up." Cuphead replied, sobbing softly. "I can't get us out, and I wanna go home so badly. I know Audrey is probably mad at us, but I miss her."
As he proceeded to whimper, Mugman knew his brother was in pain and needed to get out of here right now.
He slipped off his bunk and announced "Okay, let's go."
"What? What do you mean?" Cuphead asked, turning over to his side with tears slipping down his face.
"I can't stand seeing you like this." Mugman informed him. "So we're getting out of here."
"You mean it?" Cuphead whimpered, his voice cracking a bit.
"Yeah. But we're gonna do it my way."
As Cuphead and Mugman prepare their jailbreak, elsewhere, Josh and Monica enter the underworld. The only people in the throne room were some imps, attending to some house cleaning. Since they were pretty distracted, they slipped past them.
Monica knew that the Devil would have Audrey in her 'bed chamber' and decided to look there first. The door was unlocked, to their surprise, and sure enough they saw Audrey sleeping on the bed.
"Oh jeez! Audie!" Josh cried, as he bolted over while Monica closed the door. She hurried over and felt around the area, sensing strong dark magic looming around the room.
He wasn't playing around at this point, and neither was she.
"There's no time to waste! The spell is getting stronger!" Monica cried, rolling up her sleeves.
"Audrey! Audie! Wake up! Please wake up!" Josh shouted, shaking Audrey. She wasn't responding and simply gave a happy sigh, smiling. Josh noticed that her cheeks were turning rosy red as she replied in her sleep
"Mmm… I would...like that very much…my love."
"Oh man! What is going on in her dream!?" Josh asked, trying to yank the covers off her, but they wouldn't move. It was like someone bolted them to the sides, making it impossible to pull back.
"I'm not sure, but I'm ready to take on any spell that idiot throws at me." Monica claimed.
She summoned her staff and formed a small light sphere. She was determined to counter attack the dark magic with some light. She then shot the light at Audrey, only for it to to be deflected, bouncing violently around the room. Monica and Josh ducked down, nearly getting hit by it.
Once it vanished, they stood up and Monica took a huff.
"Ok, he really thought about this one." She grunted. "He knew I would try something so he made the spell very strong. Either I'm losing my touch or he's smart, for a demonic freak who acts like a child."
"Ok, so now what?" Josh asked. "Whatever he's doing to Audrey, he's getting close and I'm scared to find out what."
"Don't worry. There's an old saying; when the going gets tough, the tough call their friends." Monica answered. "In short, I'm gonna call for backup!"
"Erm, who are you calling for?" Josh asked. "I know you must know some magic fairies but won't it take a while to get them here?"
"Well, yes I know magical beings but this one is different." Monica responded. "It's someone that's gonna help wake up Audrey. Someone from her earliest past…"
That surprised Josh. "Her earliest past..?"
Without saying another word, Monica created a door and after pulling out a sheet of paper, scribbled on it and slipped it underneath the door. She tapped her foot waiting nervously for a response. Josh was a nervous wreck as he frantically looked at the door, then at Audrey, then at the door again.
"Oh please oh please answer the note." His thoughts prayed.
As if on cue, the door opened and a figure stepped in the room. It was a boy, about Josh's age, with fair skin, strawberry blonde hair that looked a tad bit darker, and bronze eyes.
He wore a red shirt, blue jeans, chestnut colored boots with yellow buckles on the side, a russet belt with a faded silver buckle, and a mocha colored jacket with black patches on the arms. He had a small black wand in hand with a gold and white outline and a turquoise sphere, and wore a black necklace with a silver compass charm.
"Hi, Monica!" He greeted, as the door vanished from sight. "I got your note."
Josh was so surprised. He couldn't believe that he came out of the door from another world. He could have sworn he heard a Boston accent from him, but he was still trying to process the whole thing and manage his stress with being in the underworld of all places.
The casino was one thing, but this was waaay too creepy.
"What?! Who are you?!" Josh asked, startled.
"It's ok. I'm Andy. I'm a dimensional traveler." He replied. "Monica sent word to me, saying it was urgent."
"I'm glad you're here, Andy." Monica chimed in. "Mrs. Anderson here is under a spell, and I need your help to break it."
"Ah, I see." He nodded. "Well, you're in luck. I think I can be of some assistance."
"Okay...?" Josh stated, confused.
Andy approached the bed and gently felt around Audrey's head. He too could sense strong dark magic in her mind and it indeed was getting stronger. After a moment, he looked back at the group.
"Ok here's the plan; Josh, you my friend, are going to go into her dream and wake her up." Andy instructed. "She thinks the whole thing is real, so you need to help her see what's not real. That should cause her to wake up and then once she's up, we can get the heck outta here before the big doofus finds out."
Normally one wouldn't like the idea and argue against it. But seeing that there wasn't any other option and time was slipping through their fingers, he didn't want to argue.
"Got it!" Josh nodded.
Without missing a beat, Andy casted a spell and teleported Josh out of the room and into Audrey's mind. After his departure, Audrey groaned a bit in her sleep, moving her head to the side.
"I hope this works." Andy muttered.
"Me too…" Monica sighed, biting her lower lip nervously.
A heart beat later, Josh ends up in a dark corridor. The walls were aligned with torches giving him some light and the air felt cold, wet, and fresh. He grabbed one of the torches from the wall and setted out to find Audrey.
The hallways seemed to go on forever, with no end in sight, but just as he turned a corner, he heard talking. It sounded muffled at first, but as he stepped forward, they got closer and closer. There were only two voices, which was no surprise, but one of them sounded a bit dazed and monotone.
"That sounds like Audie." Josh thought out loud, his voice echoing a bit. "I hope she's ok."
He quickened his pace following the voices. Now, as much as Josh was ready to take on the Devil and save Audrey, he wasn't sure how to get her to wake up. This spell was heavy and powerful. It would take a miracle to get her up.
"Maybe I'm overthinking this. Maybe I don't need to. " He muttered. "Maybe I don't need a powerful spell or something to counter attack it. I just need to cut off the head of the snake. And by that I mean defeating him."
He proceeded to follow the voices, as they became louder until he turned a corner and he found a nice lounge room. It was really spacious and the scent of rose petals filled his nose. He scanned the area and saw the Devil wearing a tux and cloak, sitting next to Audrey who was wearing a beautiful ball gown.
"Oh man, he's here too." He muttered, skidding to one of the pillars. He looked and was disgusted, as he saw his tail wrapped around her, as she looked at him with a dazed expression, not even flinching as he stroked her cheeks.
"If there's one thing I cannot stand, it's a demonic freak hitting on my wife." He growled. "He's got her under his spell, but I'm going to break it."
He scanned the area, searching for something he could use. Then he saw it. He crept towards it, thankful that the Devil was pretty occupied at the moment.
"All of this can be yours." The Devil sneered at Audrey. "Just say you'll marry me. You'll have a life you'll never step away from."
"I would like that… very much, my love…" Audrey softly spoke.
He grinned the most hateful grin, one that made Josh feel a shiver up his spine.
"Now that I heard what I wanted, how about giving your future hubby a little kiss?" He asked, puckering his lips like a dope
"That would be…lovely."
He slid his claw behind her head, and proceeded to lean close. He was about to kiss her when he felt someone tap his shoulder.
He was a bit surprised, since it was just the two of them in the dream. He turned around and started asking
"Ye-"
*SMACK!*
Josh hit him hard with a pillow, making the Devil comically fall over the couch and lost his grip on Audrey.
"You stay away from her, you monster!" Josh shouted.
Audrey blinked a few times, the spell began to wear off, and her eye color changed to normal.
"Josh...?" She asked, confused.
"Audie! Audie! You ok?!" Josh asked, bolting over. "Audrey, it's ok. It's me. You ok?
"Yeah I think so…" She groaned, rubbing her head. Once she shook the feeling off, she looked down and gasped. "What on earth am I wearing?!"
"I don't know, but listen, you're under a sleeping spell!" Josh informed her. "Monica and I are trying to wake you up! This, this is all fake! He made this dream world to make you his!"
"Wait, what?!" She screamed, feeling her body shake. "But everything felt so real! The ball, the corridor, this, all of it. Oh, gosh, I feel so violated!"
She felt tears stream down her face, as she gasped, nearly hyperventilating. Josh hugged her and felt her body tremble.
It's ok, it's ok, I'm here." He kept assuring her, rubbing her back. "We just need to wake you up. Your real self is still in the underworld and we need to go."
Audrey nodded and proceeded to follow Josh out when they heard the Devil get up and growled.
"You pest! How dare you interrupt me!"
"Back off, you freak!" Josh snapped. "You have no right to try and make Audrey yours and mind controlling her won't work!"
Audie moved closer to Josh, as she felt him hold her tighter, and her lip shake. She knew she could take him on, but he was still powerful and without Audrey's sketchbook, the two were defenceless.
The Devil tried to attack Josh, but he punched him in the face hard. That was enough to knock him back and out.
Grabbing her hand, Josh announced "Come on, let's get out of here!"
"Right!" Audrey nodded.
The two bolted out of the room, but as they started to leave, the entire place began to shift, twisting and turning in different directions.
"What's happening?!" Audrey asked, holding close to Josh.
"I-I don't know!" Josh cried.
Suddenly, a light shone in the room and began to grow brighter and brighter until-
Andy and Monica waited with worry and anticipation, hoping that Josh would be successful. There was a moment when Audrey struggled in her sleep and as much as they wanted to help, the battle was happening in her mind.
Just then, a small light appeared and next thing they knew Josh was flung out and landed back in the room, stomach first.
"Whoa, that was crazy." Josh gasped, standing up.
"You ok, Josh?" Andy asked.
"Yeah, I think so." Josh replied.
Almost immediately, Audrey's eyes snapped open and she sat up, panting and gasping.
"Audrey! Are you ok?" Monica asked, rushing over and pulling back the covers of her bed.
"Yeah I-I'm fine." Audrey shivered, feeling her legs shake as Monica helped her up. "T-thank you both."
Monica then handed Audrey over to Josh to keep her steady. She looked and noticed there was another boy in the room. He was about the same age as her, with brown hair and eyes, red shirt, blue pants, and a brown jacket on.
"Oh, hi. I-I didn't expect a third person. But I am glad that you're here." She informed him.
She then looked at him with narrowed eyes. There was something…familiar about him but she couldn't figure out where she saw him.
"Do I...know you from somewhere?" she asked.
Before Andy could answer, just then, they heard a demonic roar, feeling the place shake a bit.
"I'll explain when we get out." Andy assured her. "It's going to be a lot to take in."
"Okay." Audrey nodded, feeling scared.
Monica summoned her wand and without hesitation, she teleported them out of the underworld, just as the Devil came storming in.
"OH, COME ON!" He shouted.
While the heroes had their victory at escaping, meanwhile, the boys were hoping to accomplish theirs.
Mugman was outside, waiting near the doors of the prison, while keeping an eye on the laundry cart that he had. He waited nervously when he saw the laundry move a bit.
"Mugman." He heard Cuphead whisper. Turns out, Cuphead was the one who was in the laundry. And it is another one of the classic ways to escape jail.
I don't remember if this was from a movie or not, but it's a good way to get out of the big house.
He scooted himself to his brother before asking "What are you waiting for?"
"Every night at 1:30, a boat arrives with a laundry truck on it." Mugman explained. "That's our ticket out of here."
Suddenly, they both heard the sound of a ship's horn blowing.
"Right on time." Mugman smirked.
The ship's horn blew once more before the door opened to have a car approach the entrance with the label of "Laundry service" on it. The gates opened and the car moved slowly in, just a few feet from Mugman.
"Okay, here we go." Mugman stated. But before they could even head over, suddenly, they heard a deep growl from behind. They looked and lo and behold, the lady Cyclops was there, looking furious.
Ok, how is it that they managed to catch them when they just got out of their cells but not her?!
"Miss Cyclops, are you gonna rat us out?" Mugman asked, feeling his entire body tremble.
She began to glare at them…but then her face fell, as she sadly shook her head, as she held up her pink blanket. That made sense to Mugman. While she may be a terrifying creature, she still had a soft spot and felt happy when he brought her the blanket.
"Oh, don't worry." Mugman assured her, gently rubbing her toe. "Someone else will wash your blankie."
She placed her hand down, allowing Mugman to step on it, and she carefully brought him up to her sorrowful face, whimpering.
"As much as I love prison, my place is with Cuphead." He gently put, rubbing her nose.
She understood, as she gave a small nod and gently placed him on the ground, next to the cart.
"Now, we've got a laundry truck to catch." He announced. But, he didn't even take two steps when he walked right over a jack that was on the ground.
He must have left it behind one of the days he was out playing, but that didn't matter, as he felt a shock surge through his body…before giving a loud scream in pain.
It was so loud, it got the attention of the prison, as red and blue lights flashed around, and the siren began to blare. To make matters worse, the doors to the entrance slammed shut. They were trapped!
"Oh no!" Cuphead cried, jumping out of the cart and holding onto his brother.
Then, they heard the sound of the hounds come out, barking ferociously and charging at them.
Seeing their arrival, Miss Cyclops then tore off the large chain that was around her ankle, strapped it on the boys, who were bawling their eyes out, and twirled it faster and faster like the hammer throw in the Olympics.
She released it and sent them flying out of the sky, and out of the prison. She tearfully saw them out, wiping her blankie on her cheeks.
She was rudely interrupted as the hounds proceeded to bark at her, to which she roared so loudly, they scampered off, whimpering.
A bit later, the heroes were nearing the cottage, seeing it just steps ahead of them. Audrey was leaning close to Josh as the group made their way to the gate.
"Ok, looks like we're in the clear." Andy announced.
"Whew thank goodness." Josh sighed. "I was glad we got out in time. I don't think I wanna be in the same room as him, knowing that he'll kill me."
"I agree. It's best for us to recover after that." Monica sighed. "No doubt Audrey will need time to rest her mind. That was a lot she went through."
"Yeah, that-that would be nice." Audrey stammered. She felt Josh rub her back, calming her down.
She knew she needed time to recover, but one thing she needed to clear up who Andy was.
"Okay, so...Andy right? I feel like we've seen each other before, but I can't put my finger on it."
"Yeah, that's true." Andy nodded. "It's because I'm… your twin brother."
Audrey felt as if someone shoved an ice cube down her back, completely shocked by the news. Josh's jaw was on the floor, unable to say anything.
Finally, he sputtered out
"I'm sorry what?! Twin brother!?"
"I-I have a brother?" Audrey gasped. "But, how? How is that possible? I-I didn't know…"
"Look, it's a bit complicated, and I know you must have a billion questions." Andy commented. "But, since you went through a lot, I think I'll tell you later when you feel better."
"That's a good idea. My head is still hurting from all that." She groaned, rubbing her head. After a second, she smiled "Well, it's definitely gonna take me a while, but nice to see you too, Andy."
"And to you too, Audie." Andy smiled.
"You know, I kinda see the resemblance-"
Just then they heard the faint sound of screaming, which got louder and louder until-
*CRASH!*
An enormous ball and chain landed in the garden. The chain broke and the boys landed face down on the ground.
"Freedom!" They cried. They began kissing the ground. The group saw that they were wearing striped clothing and put the pieces together about where they were at.
"Boys!" Audrey cried, rushing to them.
"Audrey!" they beamed, as she took them in her arms, kissing all over their faces. Normally, they wouldn't like that, but they were so happy to see Audrey again they didn't mind.
She then squeezed them hard and felt tears run down her face, placing them down.
"Oh, boys, I was worried sick about you!" She cried. "I am so, so sorry you were in a situation like that."
"We-we're sorry!" the boys wailed, hugging her.
"We should have listened to you and just left the factory!" Mugman bawled.
"Yeah! We messed up big time!" Cuphead sobbed.
"No no no no. It's not your fault." Audrey assured them, stroking their faces. "You were tricked and taken advantage of. She is the one to blame and bailed on you when you were cornered. I should have been more firm and stepped in and I didn't."
Mugman sniffled and took a sigh. "It's not your fault, Miss Audrey. We were blinded by temptation and didn't fight back."
He paused and then asked "So, what happened to you?"
"Erm, the Devil kidnapped me." She stated. "But thanks to my friends, they saved me. Oh, and this is Andy. He came to help us."
She gestured over to Andy, who gave a small wave.
"Now, how about we head inside, and I'll run a nice warm bath for you?" she suggested. "I know you must have had some showers there, but you both deserve a proper bath."
"You sure? You must have been through a lot with the Devil." Cuphead mentioned.
"It's ok. I need to get my mind off of things." She insisted.
"Ok."
They then headed to the door, while Monica and Andy teleported the large chain and ball elsewhere, and sighed.
"Ah, home sweet home." Mugman beamed.
Just then, Elder Kettle opened the door and saw the heroes.
"Boys! Guys! There you are. You just missed your friend." He informed them. "She brought my glasses. She sang me a song. Oh, she was so charming."
Audrey, and the Cup boys gasped in shock.
"Chalice!"
"Yes. Chalice. That's her name. What a delight." He sighed. Turning to the boys, he added "Oh, by the way, and you two are… GROUNDED FOR LIFE!"
At this point, the boys were thrilled to hear that, as they fell to Elder Kettle's feet, pleading.
"Yes! Please ground us!"
"Never let us leave again."
Cuphead and Mugman began to kiss Elder Kettle's feet, and he looked oddly at the humans.
"Erm, how about we make it a week?" Audrey insisted. "It would kinda ruin the whole show if they're grounded for life."
"Eh, you got a point there." Kettle agreed.
They then headed inside and the boys bolted to their bedroom, excited to be back in a warm and safe environment.
Audrey pulled her hair back, rolled up her sleeves, tied a white apron around her waist and began to fill the tub with warm water and bubbles.
As Andy passed her some toys, Audrey asked "Say, where did you and Monica send that large ball and chain?"
"Oh, just, somewhere." Andy shrugged.
Meanwhile, back in the underworld, many imps hid behind stalagmites in fear, as they witnessed their master roar in frustration and throw things across the throne room, causing them to shatter.
"UGH! I WAS SO CLOSE!" He roared. "It's that stupid mortal's fault, and that fairy too! Oh, I wish I could wring his pathetic neck!"
Henchman, who was peeking from a stalagmite, tried to calm him down.
"D'uh boss, you had to admit you got really close. I'm sure you'll get it the next time."
"I better find a way to get what I want or I will seriously LOSE IT!" He shouted. "Ugh, how could this day get any worse!?"
Upon saying that, he felt a large shadow loom over him. When he looked up, his face dropped and was in complete fear. He had little time to react when-
*CRASH!*
An enormous chain and ball toppled over him, completely crushing him. Henchman skidded over to the area, and looked with concern and waited for a response.
Then he heard his boss groaned in a muffle
"It got worse."
Serves the Devil right for what he did to Audrey but whooooaaaa! Audrey has a twin brother?! Insane! Looks like this season is about to get really interesting! And the boys are out of jail, and honestly, let's keep it that way! "Toon" in next time for another thrilling adventure!
