April 21, 1984.

In the town of Aoyama, a suburb of Adachi, Tokyo, there was a school known as Aoyama High. It was the fourth week of the new school year. As the morning went on students began flooding the entrance, and many students mostly boys were waiting eagerly for something or someone.

"What are you guys waiting for?" one student asked.

One of the students looked at the other, surprised at what he said.

"You don't know who she is? That's small talk comin' for you." one of them said.

After he said that, a black limousine pulled up to the school's entrance and students began running to the limousine.

"Is that a limousine?" the student asked.

"Yes, I know. But just wait until she comes out." the other student said.

The driver of the limo came out and pulled out a red carpet. He then opened the backdoor and out came a girl. It was Kizuna Ebihara, the captain of the volleyball team and the certified "queen bee" of Aoyama among the students. She was one of the most popular girls in the school every girl wanted to be her and every boy wanted to date her. With her slender frame, feminine looks, and long, curly blonde hair done in tube curls, it was no surprise everyone worshipped her like a queen. Though she was known for her tremendous beauty, she had a reputation for being a nice and humble girl one minute and a mean and cruel diva the next. Kizuna walked out of the limo and walked across the red carpet, greeting all the students with a smile.

Just then, the sound of a motorcycle's engine revving as it enters the school gates. On it was a rugged male student, black-haired and wearing a black trench coat. His name was Tohru Akagi. He got off the motorcycle and walked to the building. After he walked into the building the school bell rang and everybody hauled ass to their classes.

Tohru went to his first class, composition taught by Haruka Morikawa; who also happened to be his homeroom teacher too. And it just so happened that Kizuna also shared both classes with him. Tohru was something of a loner, always keeping to himself, he was one of the "outcast" students despite being a promising student. He often wore a black trench coat but wasn't affiliated with the school's delinquents–who also wore black trench coats. Tohru sat at his desk, reading the book; "The Turner Diaries." The book is about a patriot who blows up the FBI headquarters in Washington D.C. Tohru often called Aoyama High, "the System" which is what the main characters call the United States government throughout the book. He was also the subject of bullying by the popular students, including Kizuna. During the class, a student threw a handful of whipped cream at Tohru while laughing, the student was Akio Shiraishi, the rich boyfriend of Kizuna and the unofficial "boss" of the school as his father was the president of the PTA and he thought that gave him the right to boss others than were below him.

"You like that, huh? Faggot!" Akio shouted.

Tohru rolled his eyes, annoyed. But that did stop Akio from throwing another handful of whipped cream at Tohru's back. Tohru was unphased by the harassment, he'd been through worse and just went back to reading his book.

"God. That fucking chud. We know you're hot shit around here, you don't have to show it. The next time he does it, I'll shove that can up his ass he'll be coughing up dandruff for months." Tohru said in his head.

Tohru went to the bathroom to wash the whipped cream off his back and shoulders. While in the bathroom, he took out a cigarette and lighter and began smoking.

"This is going to be a long year," he said smoking his cigarette.

Lunchtime came around, and Tohru was known to have lunch on the roof but on some days he sat on the school's water fountain at the center of the courtyard. He would usually sit there and read his book.

"Hello Akagi," a student said.

Tohru looked up to see it was Akio and another boy, Yutaka Sonoma, or "Yu" as he liked to be called.

"What do you want, Akio?" Tohru said.

Akio snatched Tohru's book out of his hands and began flipping through the pages.

"Give me back my book, asshole!" Tohru yelled.

Akio slammed the book at Yu's chest but not hard to cause pain. Akio then smiled at Tohru.

"Why do you take your political and anti-semitic views outta this school, trash." Akio cried out.

Tohru got up and took his book back from Yu. Angrily, Akio grabbed Tohru by the collar of his white button-up shirt and grinned.

"Whatcha gonna do, Akagi? Cry for your parents? Oh, that's right, you have none." Yu said while laughing.

One of the main reasons Tohru was bullied was because he had no parents, let alone any other family members in his life. His mother hanged herself while he was young and his father left for a younger woman, but later jumped off a bridge in shame. He was labeled a "neo-nazi" by the students who bullied him, in addition to reading an anti-semitic and propaganda book like "The Turner Diaries", he had swastikas drawn on the toe tips and heel caps of his shoes and was knowledgeable about WWI and WWII, including Adolf Hither. Akio then put Tohru down and pushed him into the fountain, causing him to get soaked. Everybody, including the teachers, began laughing. Tohru jumped out of the fountain and grabbed his bag. Akio and Yu were laughing like hyenas. Tohru angrily shook his head at them but didn't say anything.

"Hey, faggot! You got something on your back!" Yu shouted.

Tohru just continued walking to the front entrance to ditch school early.
