Resolve

This would be their routine.

Every now and then they'd be interrupted, be by Alice or Grimm forcing Viper to switch back to her paperwork, but Viper would always welcome Six's company even if it slightly detracted from said paperwork.

Things would come to a halt however when the sand king would reappear.

To ensure her people would have a safe place to live, Viper would spend all her effort when available dealing with the sand king, which was effectively just a giant mole.

The first time the Sand King appeared, Viper felt extreme shame for not being able to help do anything about the Crisis, having to help Rose from choking on snacks she had brought into her office.

Along with self-shame, she felt a small sense of relief to see that Kisaragi had done everything they could to repel the sand king on such short notice.

She'd be there to help the next time the beast appeared.

Appreciation.

Walking with Six, Viper spoke of her father and the little teachings instilled to her by him, Six quickly changing the conversation to something else before the demon embassy came from the sky

"Lady Viper! You look well, but is this truly the case? The humans haven't done anything terrible to you, have they?"

Seeing her fellow demons worry for her, Viper smiled softly, asking how things had gone in the kingdom of Torris.

"U-um, here, just read this."

"What's that say Vi? Lemme see!"

"Vi?!"

Camille and Six began to speak, while Viper read the letter she was given.

Her expression tightened, and her heart began to race. The alliance between the demons and the people of Torris had was now to become null and void.

Feeling her people's safety no more secure than before, she steeled herself for the time being before telling Six of the contents in the writing.

"Oh, so meaning they don't plan to accept the refugees. But, well, Alice promised you, right? 'At the very least, I'll secure the lives of your people.' She's really good with this sort of thing, so cheer up, Vi."

"You said 'Vi' again!"

Six and Camille began to argue about some matter, but Viper didn't hear that.

She was overwhelmed by the hospitality and kindness her people were being offered and was at loss for words momentarily.

"... thank you Mr. Six, for everything… How can I ever repay you?"

"You don't have to, but if you wish you could always come play with me at night," Six casually said before being berated by Camille on just what exactly he meant.

Viper hearing this adorn a small smile, before responding

"I'd be happy to keep you company for the night, if that's what you wish."

"Just what are you too exactly doing at night!?"

Camille continued to pester Six on what they meant as Viper went to go find Alice.

As she left the two of them bickering, she couldn't help but smile, feeling truly appreciative for the kindness her people were being shown.

She couldn't be happier for them.
