Cordelia was not happy. She'd barely gotten out of the smelly trunk of the car she'd been hiding in when two security officers confronted her. Apparently there were cameras in the underground parking garage. Who knew? No way was she going to be arrested or let them take Baby from her, so she kicked one of the guards in the chin with a perfect high kick that demonstrated why she'd been the Cheer Captain of the cheerleading squad at Sunnydale High School. As the other security officer was reaching for his gun, she was kicking him in the gut. Then she ran. She made it out of the parking garage and headed down the block. The first alley way she saw she ducked into it and teleported out. She landed blind several blocks away in another alley and having no clue where she was or even what city she was in, realized she was lost. Damn it, now what was she going to do? They'd never been separated like this before. Would they be able to find each other? She headed out to the street, she needed information and a phone book was a good place to find it.

"Excuse me." She said to the first person she saw. "Can you tell me where I can find a public phone and phone book?"

"There's a gas station about two blocks over." The woman told her. "I'm sure they have one." She pointed down the block.

"Thank you, I appreciate it." The traffic here was bad, no way was she putting Baby on a leash here. 'Need to think of a real name for him. Michael? No, reminds me of Michael Czajak in High School.' Goth and witchcraft, which reminded her of Willow. 'Cory? Too much like what Xander calls me'. Well, they'd come up with something eventually. She reached the gas station and went in.

"Do you have a phone book I could borrow?" She asked the clerk. He just kind of grunted and pointed toward the back of the store. Rolling her eyes, she headed back. "Washington D.C? Would be nice if we landed on another planet once in awhile.' She thought. 'Okay, think it through, Chase. Those were cops of some kind, they arrested Xander.' She checked the listings for police stations in the area and then started calling them, asking if anyone named Alexander Harris or McCleod had been brought in. Nope. Nada. Nein. Not a single one knew anything about him. 'Okay, if not local cops, then this being D.C. maybe federal cops, like the FBI. Yeah, like they're going to answer my questions. Wait, Xander said the dead guy was dressed like he was in the Navy, so who would be Navy in Washington DC?' and there it was N.C.I.S. Navel Criminal Investigation Service, Washington Navy Yard and the address. She called a cab and got a ride back there. When she noticed a park a couple blocks from it, she decided to walk over there and give Baby some time on a leash. Which is why she was currently unhappy.

"I guess you can't read signs." The uniformed cop standing in front of her said.

"Which sign would that be?" She asked.

"The one that says this park is off limits to dog walkers. There's alot of federal people around and none of them want to risk stepping into something that's just going to ruin their day. I'm going to have to cite you."

"Fine, give it to me and we'll be on our way." She held her hand out for the citation. It wasn't like it was going to matter one way or another, she and Xander would be gone soon, hopefully. This jump was turning out to be a bust, big time.

The uniform was writing the citation when Xander teleported in beside her. Which naturally enough, freaked the uniformed cop out. She dropped her pad and reached for her weapon.

"Crap." He said. "This day just keeps getting worse. Grab Baby, Cordy. We're out of here."

"'Bout damn time. I want to be far from here, Xander. Like say, another world, far." She answered, as she gathered Baby up.

"Here's hoping." Xander replied, as he pulled out the control device and grabbed her hand in his. An electric tingle and the world shifted, just as the cop fired, hitting Xander in the chest. He was falling to the ground even as they materialized.

"Where the Hell did we end up?" Cordelia said aloud as she bent down to check Xander. He was clearly dead, but he would revive. She just needed to be patient.

Back in the reality they'd just left, Agent Gibbs was getting a report from his people.

"I don't know how it happened." McGee said. "But the security tapes clearly show the casing on the camera lens compressing in front of the lens. I pulled one of the cameras out and sure enough, it's like something squeezed the top and bottom together. Abby's checking it."

"Ziva?"

"I saw Ducky standing in front of the elevator we brought the suspect up in. Security cameras in the hall clearly show Ducky standing there. Then he seemed to fall in. I called in an emergency. There's no one in the elevator shaft. It's empty. And Ducky was in the autopsy room doing his autopsy on the navel officer we brought in at the same time. The cameras also clearly show him there."

"I want Sargeant Harris brought in for questioning. This guy looks like him and has the same name as him. I want to know why. Abby, why are you jumping up and down like that?"

"Because I'm pretty sure you're not going to find your suspect, Gibbs."

"And why is that?"

"Because he's either a time traveler, an alien or a top secret experiment."

"Why do you think that?"

"Because his DNA isn't human, at least not entirely. I ran it repeatedly. He's part hyena, brown hyena to be exact and I can't begin to explain how that's possible, since anything other then science fiction has never said it is possible."
