"So does no one find it suspicious that someone pretty much just handed us a clue?" Xander asked when it was discovered someone had droppsd a recording and a newspaper article through the mail slot of the original Scooby Gang's friends house.

"People don't always want to be associated with helping to solve a mystery." Velma offered.

"And the mancrab, you have to come up with a better name then that, could be trying to put the blame on someone else." Cordelia suggested.

"Whichever it is, this is still a clue." Fred reminded them. He handed the article to Velma, who quickly read it, while he played the recording.

'Hello, children. If you've read the article, you'll know this volleyball tournament isn't the first time kids have disappeared from Crystal Cove. It's worth researching, don't you think?' Came from the recoding.

"Guys, listen to this." Velma said. "This article is about four kids who disappeared years ago while exploring the Crystal Cove Caverns. It looks like there's more to the article, it's torn. We should check back newspaper articles and see if we can find the rest of it."

Since no one could protest that as being a bad idea, they headed over to the library and Velma quickly went to work at a computer. "Guys I've found the rest of the article. It says the Crystal Cove Caverns run under the beach where the volleyball tournament is being played."

"Which would make it easy for someone to build access points to the beach." Xander suggested.

"Which would mean my trap wouldn't work." Fred said. "If whoever is doing this can only come up in certain areas."

"Which means we'll have to explore the Crystal Cove Caverns ourselves." Velma added.

"I've got a flashlight." Xander said, pulling it out. "Long lasting batteries." He assured them.

"We should get some other gear as well." Fred added. "I've cave explored before. Boots, gloves, knee and elbow pads. Sturdy clothes. About the only ones close to being appropriately dressed right now are Xander and Cordelia, because they're wearing boots and jeans. Let's meet at the beach in an hour guys. I'll stop and pick up enough pads for everyone."

"So why not Norbert?" Xander asked, while he and Cordelia waited for the Fred, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby to meet them.

"Because if Baby does become capable of turning human, I want him to have a name that isn't going to get him teased. Kids can be cruel, Xander. I know, I was a bully. I don't want to risk that with our kids."

"You're probably right. We have no idea when we'll be fully ready to be gods ourselves. Baby could grow up and live a long time before we get to that point. And we'll meet alot of people along the way. What about David?"

"David's a good name. I'll think about it."

"You do that." Xander said, as the others joined them. They made their way down to the cove where Velma had discovered the location of the cave entrance and they preceded into the caves.

"Kinda spooky." Shaggy observed.

"Uhuh." Scooby agreed.

"At least it's not a wet cave." Xander offered. "Which is kinda strange given how close to the water it is. Maybe whoever is doing this is keeping it clean."

"Guys, look what I found." Shaggy said, pointing at a set of stairs.

"Looks like Xander was right about access points." Velma said, examining the stairs. "These are old, they've been here for a long time."

"Whoever made them may be the same person keeping these caves clean." Fred suggested.

"Fred, is that you?" They could hear Daphne's voice from deeper in the cave.

"Come on, that's Daphne!" Fred said excitedly.

"Careful, Fred." Xander put a hand on his arm. "Rushing ahead could land you in a trap."

"You're right. I need to calm down. Getting trapped ourselves won't help Daphne."

They continued to work their way deeper into the cave and came out in a cavern. There were people in cages and Scooby demonstrated a talent. He could pick locks!

"That is so neat!" Xander was close to fan boying again, but really, what else could you do when you discover that a talking dog not only exists, but that he can pick locks?! Which is when the mancrab showed up again. Startled, Xander used his telekinesis and shoved it back into one of the cages. Shaggy, who was standing next to it, quickly closed it.

"Ok, let's see who's under the mask!" Fred pulled it off. "You're not Skipper Sheldon!"

"No, Bud Sheldon." Velma told him. "I saw him in one of the articles in the paper, when we were checking out the clue we got."

"So why do all this?" Cordelia asked.

"Revenge." Bud grumbled. "Tricknall Trickquid stole my idea and I wanted revenge!"

"Lawyers are a thing, you know." Cordelia pointed out.

"And they take forever and cost a fortune. But I would have gotten away with it, if it wasn't for you meddling kids!"

"Oh gods, he really said it!" Xander yelled. "And hey, in all the excitement I didn't even notice. Cordy, doesn't Daphne look familiar?"

Cordelia took a look and then said. "Xander, it's time to go." Holding tight to Baby, who she'd refused to leave behind and grabbing Xander's hand, she dragged him toward the entrance to the caves, leaving the Scooby gang behind to free the other caged people. "You better get us somewhere far from Earth this time, Doofus. I want to be far away from Buffy lookalikes!"

An electric tingle and the world shifted.
