Exploring the Ruins
The two continue to explore South Province Area Two as they make their way to Cortondo. Along the way, the two catch any Pokemon they don't have in their collections. Right now, Clyde's Swablu was staring down a small, light green, olive shaped Pokemon with small legs, and a yellow olive growing out of its head. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at it to see what it was.
"Smoliv, the Olive Pokemon. It protects itself from enemies by emitting oil from the fruit on its head. This oil is bitter and astringent enough to make someone flinch." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Swablu, use Peck!" said Clyde. Swablu flies at the Smoliv and pecks it, doing super effective damage. The Smoliv responds by releasing a stream of green energy from the olive on its head which hits Swablu, but doesn't do much to him, but some of Smoliv's injuries seem to heal a bit.
"That must've been Absorb." said Lincoln. "Good thing Swablu's part flying type."
"Swablu, use Disarming Voice!" said Clyde. Swablu releases a soundwave from his beak which hits the Smoliv and knocks it onto its back. Clyde quickly pulls out a pokeball and throws it at the Smoliv, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Way to go, buddy!" said Lincoln. Clyde looks at his Rotom Phone at his new Smoliv's information.
"My new Smoliv is a boy, he knows Tackle, Sweet Scent, Absorb, and Growth; and he has the Early Bird ability which makes him wake up quicker from sleep-inducing moves." said Clyde. Smoliv's pokeball disappears to storage.
"Let's keep looking around." said Lincoln.
Lincoln and Clyde train up the Pokemon they had with them as they explored the area, with them getting stronger as they did.
They all then head over to a tall tower and climb to the top of it to get a better look at the area around it. When they do, they immediately see a red chest.
"Is that a treasure chest?" asked Lincoln. He and Clyde walked over to it; when they got close to it, it opens up revealing coins inside; but what got their attention was the small, bluish gray, metallic Pokemon in the middle of them. Clyde takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Gimmighoul, the Coin Chest Pokemon. This Pokémon was born inside a treasure chest about 1,500 years ago. It sucks the life-force out of scoundrels who try to steal the treasure." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"I guess we have to leave the treasure alone." said Lincoln.
"Or I can catch this Pokemon and the treasure with it." said Clyde as he takes out a pokeball. "Quaxwell, go!" He throws Quaxwell's pokeball and releases him. "Okay, Quaxwell, Aqua Jet!" Quaxwell becomes surrounded by water and it flies at Gimmighoul; he rams into Gimmighoul, damaging it. Gimmighoul jumps at Quaxwell and rams him, knocking him back. "Water Pulse!" Quaxwell forms a ball of water between his hands, and he launches it at Gimmighoul, hitting it; it collapses onto the gold coins. Clyde throws an empty pokeball at it and it hits Gimmighoul; it gets sucked into the pokeball and it wiggled around before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"Good job, Clyde." said Lincoln. Gimmighoul's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage. Clyde uses his Rotom Phone to look up Gimmighoul's information.
"My Gimmighoul has no gender, it knows only Astonish and Tackle, and it has the Rattled ability, which increases its speed when its hit by a bug, dark, or ghost type move, or when its intimidated." said Clyde. The two look around the area from up on the tower and quickly see a city nearby.
"That must be Cortondo." said Lincoln.
"So, what should we do now?" asked Clyde. Lincoln looks around some more and sees some ruins nearby.
"Hey; let's check out those ruins over there." said Lincoln. He and Clyde climb down from the tower and head to the place that Lincoln spotted. When they get there, they split up to explore the area to see what they could find.
Clyde checks out a bright light that was coming from an open area outside the ruins; when he gets close to it, he sees what looked like a Fletchling in a Tera Form.
"What's a Tera Form Pokemon doing outside a Tera Den?" asked Clyde. He then sees on the Tera Fletchling's head was a candelabra. "I'm guessing it's Tera Type is fire." He pulls out his Nacli's pokeball and releases her from it.
"Okay, Nacli; use Rock Throw!" said Clyde. Nacli launches rocks from her head, and they hit the Fletchling, doing super effective damage. The candelabra on its head suddenly flares up before it flies at Nacli with its body coated in fire and slams into her; a surge of energy rises up from the Fletchling. "Since it's a pure fire type now, I'm guessing it's not immune to ground type moves right now; so Nacli, use Mud Shot!" Nacli releases globs of mud from her body and they hit Fletchling, doing super effective damage, and lower its speed. The Fletchling's Tera Form suddenly shatters, returning it to its regular form. Clyde pulls out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Fletchling, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Yes! I caught Fletchling!" said Clyde before he looks at his Rotom Phone at Fletchling's information. "My new Fletchling's a girl, she knows Growl, Peck, Quick Attack, Ember, Flail, and Flame Charge; and she has the Big Pecks ability which keep her defense from being lowered." Fletchling's pokeball disappears to storage before Clyde returns his Nacli to her pokeball and goes back to the ruins.
With Lincoln, he was exploring the ruins, and he hears a chinking sound coming from nearby; he looks to see a pink, bipedal Pokemon with a ponytail, hitting a rock with its hammer. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Tinkatink, the Metalsmith Pokemon. It swings its handmade hammer around to protect itself, but the hammer is often stolen by Pokémon that eat metal." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Go, Pawmo!" said Lincoln, throwing Pawmo's pokeball and releasing her. Tinkatink spots them and raises its hammer. "Pawmo, Dig!" Pawmo digs into the ground. The Tinkatink looks around for Pawmo when she comes up from the ground below Tinkatink and rams it, dealing super effective damage. Tinkatink releases a pink gust of wind from its body, and it hits Pawmo, dealing super effective damage. "Pawmo, use Nuzzle!" Pawmo rubs her cheeks with her paws, and she charges at Tinkatink; she rubs her cheeks against it and shocks it. Static electricity surrounds Tinkatink's body and it twitches. Realizing Tinkatink's paralyzed, Lincoln pulls out an empty pokeball and throws it at Tinkatink, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around until it clicks. "Yeah! Tinkatink's mine!" Tinkatink's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to look up Tinkatink's information.
"This says Tinkatink's a boy, he knows Astonish, Fairy Wind, Baby-Doll Eyes, and Metal Claw; he has the Own Tempo ability which prevents him from being confused and it makes him immune to the Intimidate ability." said Lincoln.
Unbeknownst to Lincoln, a round, flat, bluish-green Pokemon floats out from behind a wall of the ruins and looks at Lincoln. It floats quickly at him; making Lincoln turn to see it and jumps out of the way and it flies past him.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Bronzor, the Bronze Pokemon. Ancient people believed that the pattern on Bronzor's back contained a mysterious power." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone. Pawmo steps in front of Lincoln and glares at Bronzor.
"Pawmo, Dig!" said Lincoln. Pawmo digs into the ground; as the Bronzor floats, Pawmo bursts out of the ground, but couldn't hit Bronzor. "Oh man; that Bronzor must have the Levitate ability, it makes it that ground type moves have no effect on it." Bronzor unleashes purple beams at Pawmo, hitting her. She begins stumbling around. "Oh man, Pawmo's confused! Pawmo, try using Nuzzle!" Unfortuantely, confusion gets the better of Pawmo and she rubs her cheek against a ruin wall, hurting herself. The Bronzor's eyes glow light blue and Pawmo gets lifted up from the ground and gets thrown into a wall, dealing super effective damage. Lincoln runs to Pawmo.
"Are you okay, Pawmo?" asked Lincoln. Pawmo struggles to get up. Lincoln looks to see Bronzor floating towards him. As he held Pawmo close, small, mulitple bits of fire come out of nowhere and hits Bronzor, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it back. Lincoln looks over to where the attack came from to see Charcadet. "Hey; you're that Charcadet from before, right?" Charcadet nods and faces Bronzor. Bronzor flies at Charcadet and rams it, knocking it back. Charcadet runs at Bronzor and makes a scary face at it, dealing super effective damage to it, and making it flinch. Charcadet then releases a stream of fire from the holes on its forehead and it circles around Bronzor, dealing super effective damage to it; it collapses to the ground.
Charcadet looks at Lincoln and nods. Realizing it wants him to capture Bronzor, Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Bronzor, hitting it, and sucking it in. It wiggled around before clicking.
"Bronzor is mine!" said Lincoln. Bronzor's pokeball vanishes. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone to look up Bronzor's information. "Bronzor doesn't have a gender, but it does know Tackle, Confusion, Confuse Ray, Payback, Imprison, and Gyro Ball; and like I suspected, it does have the Levitate ability." Lincoln walks to Pawmo who was back on her feet. "You okay, Pawmo?" Pawmo nods in response.
"You okay, Lincoln?" asked Clyde who was running over to him.
"Yeah; thanks to Charcadet there." said Lincoln, pointing at Charcadet, who was walking to them.
"Isn't that the same one from yesterday?" asked Clyde.
"I think it is." Lincoln replied. When the Charcadet reaches Lincoln, it kneels down before him. "What's with it?"
"Maybe it's thanking you for helping him yesterday?" suggested Clyde. Lincoln thinks back to the battle with the Klawfs and recalls how the one that tried to attack him was hit by fire.
"And were you the one that saved me a few hours ago?" asked Lincoln. Charcadet looks up and nods before patting its stomach.
"I'm guessing it took the sandwich you made." said Clyde.
"Did you like it?" Lincoln asked Charcadet who nods in response.
"Did you really follow Lincoln all the way here?' asked Clyde, making Charcadet nod in response. Lincoln thinks for a little bit.
"Would you like to join my team?" asked Lincoln. Charcadet responds by standing up and puffing out its chest.
"I'll bet that's a yes." said Clyde. Lincoln smiles as he takes out an empty pokeball and tosses it towards Charcadet who jumps at it and hits the button, making it open and sucks it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"Welcome to the team, Charcadet." said Lincoln. He takes out his Rotom Phone and uses it to look up Charcadet's information. "This says that it's a boy, he knows Leer, Ember, Astonish, and Clear Smog; and he has the Flash Fire ability which makes his fire attacks a lot stronger if hit by a damaging one himself; also, once the ability activates, he becomes immune to them."
"That is awesome!" said Clyde. Charcadet's pokeball disappears, making Lincoln use his Rotom Phone to do some swapping; his Spidops for his new Tinkatink, and his Oinkologne for Charcadet. Lincoln looks at where he caught Bronzor to see some of its fragments laying around. Thinking they could be used to make Technical Machines, he picks them up and puts them in his backpack.
"Let's set up camp and have some dinnner." said Lincoln.
"You got it, Lincoln." said Clyde. The two set up camp for the night and prepare meals for them and their Pokemon; after that, the two enter their tent and go to sleep.
