Chapter 73: The Crystal Onix
Hello everyone, this chapter will focus on the gang trying to look for a Crystal Onix and they run into Team Snagem again, enjoy!
The chapter begins the next day after the last one ended, we see the group riding on Lapras's back heading for Sunburst Island. As Lapras continues to swim Leaf sees something in the water and speaks.
"What's that?" Leaf says making everyone else look as they see a bottle in the water. Lapras picks up the bottle and hands it to Ash as he speaks.
"Thank you Lapras" Ash says with the mon nodding as Misty looks at the bottle and speaks.
"It looks like there's a letter inside" Misty says as Ash opens the bottle and looks at the letter as Tracey speaks.
"What's its say Ash?" Tracey asks as Ash begins to read the letter.
"It says, "If anyone knows anything about the Crystal Onix, please come to Sunburst Island sincerely Marissa"" Ash says as Leaf speaks.
"Looks like someone's also interested in the Crystal Onix too" Leaf says with the group nodding as Tracey speaks.
"And look up ahead it's Sunburst Island" Tracey says the group look forward and see the island. A few minutes later Lapras reaches the shore Ash tells the mon thank you and returns it to its Pokeball. After that the group begin walking towards the town. When they make it, they see glassware everywhere as Leaf speaks.
"Wow look at all this glass" Leaf says as Tracey speaks.
"Sunburst Island is known for is famous glassware, all of the craftsmen that live here are very passionate about their work and try to make the best glassware in the world" Tracey says with the group nodding as they continue to walk, they see beautiful glassware everywhere and are amazed by it. They continue walking until they see a man asking a little girl why her shop is still open, the group walk over and when they reach the area Ash speaks.
"Is something wrong?" Ash asks as the man speaks.
"What do you know this girl?" The man asks as Leaf speaks.
"Not really?" Leaf replies as the man sighs and speaks.
"If you don't know her then you should stay out of other people's business. Speaking of business, I'm going back to work" The man says as he walks back to his building next door. Once he's gone the group look at the little girl who has a sad look on her face, Ash bends down getting on the girls' eye level and speaks.
"Hey are you okay?" Ash asks with the girl nodding as Misty speaks.
"Do you run this shop yourself?" Misty asks as the girl speaks.
"No, my brother Mateo, owns the shop and makes glassware. But recently he hasn't been making a lot" The girl says with the group nodding as Leaf speaks.
"By the way what's your name?" Leaf asks as the girl speaks.
"My name is Marissa" The girl says surprising the group as Tracey speaks.
"That's the same name from the letter. Does that mean that you're the one who wrote it?" Tracey asks as the girl smiles and speaks.
"Yes, that was me and seeing as you guys found my letter you must know all about the Crystal Onix can you please tell me?" Marissa asks as Ash speaks.
"Sorry but we don't know anything about The Crystal Onix we came to this island to see if we could find it" Ash responds with Misty, Leaf, and Tracey nodding. This makes Marissa sad as she was hoping that the group would've been able to tell her about the Crystal Onix Leaf then speaks.
"Does the Crystal Onix actually exist? So far, we've only heard rumors about it" Leaf asks as Marissa speaks.
"It does come inside my brother will tell you" Marissa says with the group nodding as they follow her inside. They then meet Marrisa's brother Mateo; they greet each other as Mateo speaks.
"I'm sorry if my sister has caused you any trouble" Mateo says as Misty speaks.
"It's fine she's caused us no trouble at all" Misty says with her friends agreeing as Ash speaks.
"So, how come you don't make much glassware anymore if you've this shop?" Ash asks as Mateo speaks.
"Well… you see this store used to belong to my grandfather and when he was in charge it flourished. He was a very skilled craftsman making glassware Pokémon every day, but then one day he passed away and I inherited the store. Unfortunately, I was unable to make anything as good as my grandpa's, so the store hasn't been flourishing like it used to" Mateo says with the group nodding. Leaf then looks at a few of the glassware Pokémon that Mateo made and speaks.
"So, these are the glassware Pokémon you made? They look cool" Leaf says with Ash, Misty, and Tracey agreeing. Mateo then picks up a glass Poilwrath and throws it on the ground breaking it. The group have surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.
"Why'd you do that?" Ash asks as Mateo speaks.
"Because compared to my grandpa's they're not good" Mateo says as Tracey speaks.
"But what makes them not good?" Tracey asks as Mateo speaks.
"You see the glassware Pokémon that my grandpa made had soul in them making it so when you look at them, they come to life, if you compared them to mine, they don't have soul and I have no inspiration" Mateo says as Ash speaks.
"Inspiration?" Ash questions as Misty speaks.
"Like having a light bulb moment" Misty says with Ash nodding as Tracey speaks.
"Glassware's like a work of art, right? Inspiration's important to art because if you don't have it, you become stuck" Tracey says with Ash nodding Leaf then looks at Mateo and speaks.
"Is that why you want to see the Crystal Onix?" Leaf asks as Mateo speaks.
"Yes, because I feel that once I see it, it'll give me the inspiration I need in order to create something truly great" Mateo says with the group nodding as he continues to speak.
"My grandpa told me that when he was younger, he encountered the Crystal Onix. He said that its body was made of pure crystal, and it was nothing like he had ever seen before. After that encounter he was able to create amazing glassware that amazed everyone that saw it" Mateo says with the group nodding. Mateo then walks a few feet forward, looks at the group and speaks.
"Please take a look at this" Mateo says as he shows them a small statue of the Crystal Onix. The group have surprised looks on their faces as they feel as though it's come to life, but it actually didn't. The group are amazed by it as Mateo speaks.
"This is the statue of the Crystal Onix that my grandpa made. The Crystal Onix is like a messenger to the gods of glass, and you can even call it a symbol. I've searched high and low on this island for the Crystal Onix to get inspiration but have been unable to find it" Mateo says with the group nodding as Misty speaks.
"So, that's why Marissa wanted to know more about the Crystal Onix" Misty says as Marissa speaks.
"Yes, that's right" Marissa says as Misty speaks.
"Say why don't we look together?" Misty suggests as Ash speaks.
"That's a great idea Misty, Mateo let's help you find the Crystal Onix so that you can get your inspiration" Ash says with his friends nodding. Mateo's surprised then speaks.
"Are you sure? Why would you go out of your way to help someone you barely know?" Mateo asks as Ash speaks.
"Well, our original goal coming to this island was to see the Crystal Onix, we then found Marissa's letter and helping you will allow us to see it too" Ash says with his friends nodding making Mateo and Marrisa smile as Mateo then speaks.
"I see thank you very much" Mateo says with the group nodding as Leaf speaks.
"So, where should we start first?" Leaf asks as Mateo speaks.
"Come with me I'll show you where I tried looking for the Crystal Onix before" Mateo says with the group nodding. After that he, along with his sister and the group leave the shop as they begin heading toward a forest. Unbeknownst to the group 4, team Snagem members were listening into their conversation as one of them speaks.
"You hear that Wakin sir? It seems like they know where to find the Crystal Onix" The grunt says with Wakin nodding as he speaks.
"Yes, let's follow them and let's make sure that they don't notice us" Wakin says with his 3 men nodding as they begin to carefully follow the group. 5 minutes later we see the group in an open plain as Mateo speaks.
"This is where I began my search for the Crystal Onix" Mateo says as Misty speaks.
"Geez I didn't know that this island was so big where should we begin?" Misty asks as Tracey pulls out a Pokeball and speaks.
"I think this one can help us Come out Venonat!" Tracey says as he throws the ball forward and his Venonat appears. The bug has a happy look on its face as Ash speaks.
"How's Venonat going to help Tracey?" Ash asks as Tracey speaks.
"You see Venonats eyes act as a radar so it's able to locate anything it sees. Mateo, please show Venonat the Crystal Onix statue" Tracey says with Mateo nodding as he shows the mon the statue, Venonat looks at it as Tracey speaks.
"We're looking for a Pokémon like this Venonat will you be able to help us?" Tracey asks with the mon nodding. After Venonat's done scanning the statue it begins to run forward with the group following it. A couple minutes later the group are now in front of a rock statue that looks like an Onix, Venonat happily jumps up and down as Tracey speaks.
"Um Venonat this isn't what we were looking for" Tracey says but the mon continues to jump up and down making Tracey sigh and return the mon as Ash speaks.
"Great what now?" Ash asks as Tracey pulls out another Pokeball and speaks.
"Don't worry I've another Pokémon that can help us" Tracey says as he brings out his Maril who looks at its trainer and has a smile on its face. Tracey bends down plays a recording of an Onix's voice and speaks.
"We're looking for that sound Maril will you be able to help?" Tracey asks with Maril nodding as it closes its eyes and begins to concentrate as Ash speaks.
"What's Maril doing?" Ash asks as Tracey speaks.
"Maril has very acute hearing after I played Onix's voice, it'll focus its hearing on where Onix is. Then when it hears Onix's voice it'll take us to it" Tracey says with Ash nodding as Leaf takes notes. A couple seconds later Maril opens its eyes and begins running forward as Tracey speaks.
"Looks like Maril's found it come on!" Tracey says with the group nodding as they begin to follow Maril. A few minutes later the group are out of the forest and are now on a shore. Maril points over to a nearby island as Ash speaks.
"So Onix's on that Island?" Ash asks as Mateo speaks.
"But my grandpa said that he found the Crystal Onix on this island" Mateo says after that the water starts to part away as it reveals a path that connects to the other island. Everyone has surprised looks on their faces as Mateo speaks.
"I get it now around this time is low tide, so my grandpa must've walked over to that island" Mateo says as Marissa speaks.
"Does this mean that we're close?" Marissa asks as Misty speaks.
"Yes, we are" Misty answers making Marissa happy as Ash speaks.
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go before the tide comes back" Ash says with the group nodding as they quickly begin running on the path heading for the island. A few minutes later the group are now walking through a forest they continue to walk until they reach a cave. Maril points to the cave as Tracey speaks.
"Maril says that once we enter this cave, we'll find the Crystal Onix" Tracey says with the group nodding as they begin walking in the cave. When they enter the cave it's bright and there's a lake in the middle of it. Maril dives into the water and begins to swim in it. Once Maril's done swimming it immediately comes out of the water and points to the lake. The group then walk over to the lake and look at it. As they're looking, they see something that surprises them causing them to back away as something appears from out of the water. The thing that appeared out of the water is the Crystal Onix who lets out a mighty roar and looks at the group. Everyone has surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.
"So, this is the Crystal Onix" Ash says as Tracey speaks.
"I gotta sketch this" Tracey says as he begins to sketch the mon Misty speaks.
"It's beautiful" Misty says with Sobble, Quaxly, Togepi and Leaf agreeing. Marissa then looks at her brother and speaks.
"We did it Mateo we finally found the Crystal Onix!" Marrisa says happily with her brother nodding. Mateo then looks at the mon and continues to gaze at its beauty. As everyone continues to look at it suddenly a net appears that wraps around Onix and begins to burn it. The Crystal Onix roars in pain, everyone has surprised looks on their faces as Ash speaks.
"Who did that?!" Ash says as he along with everyone hear a voice.
"That would be us" The voice says causing the group to turn around as they see 4 bald men and speak.
"Team Snagem!" Ash, Leaf, and Misty say in anger as Tracey speaks.
"Team Snagem? you mean the ones that have been causing trouble in the Orange Islands?" Tracey asks with Ash nodding as Wakin speaks.
"Seeing that angry look in your eyes tells me that you've encountered some other members before" Wakin says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, we battled some guy named Agrev and his men who tried to steal Prof Ivy's Pokémon" Leaf says as Wakin speaks.
"Oh yes I think that I remember hearing that Agrev was defeated, and I'm surprised that he lost to some kids" Wakin says as Misty speaks.
"We may be kids, but we can still beat you!" Misty states with Ash and Leaf nodding as they get their Pokeball's ready Wakin smiles and speaks.
"Heh please I doubt you can beat me." Wakin says as he along with his 2 men each pull out 4 Pokeball's and throw them in the air sending out their Pokémon. The 2 men's Pokémon consist of Mightyena, Vigoroth, Mandibuzz and Kanto Muk. Wakin's Pokemon consists of a Blaziken, Grumpig, Vileplume and a Crawdaunt that has shadowy aura around its body and lets out a mighty roar creating a shockwave then looks forward waiting for its opponent. The gang look at Crawdaunt as Tracey speaks.
"What's with that Crawdaunt?" Tracey asks as Leaf speaks.
"It's a Shadow Pokémon that's just a full-on battle machine and has no free will of its own" Leaf says with Tracey nodding as Ash speaks.
"Tracey you, Mateo, and Marissa go help out the Crystal Onix and we'll take care of these guys" Ash says with Tracey nodding as he along with Mateo and Marissa go over to the Crystal Onix Wakin speaks.
"You're not going anywhere Crawdaunt use Hydro Pump!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt fires a large Hydro Pump that heads for Tracey, Mateo, and Marrisa as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu use Thunder times 4!" Ash calls Pikachu quickly jumps off Ash's shoulder and fires 4 large bolts of electricity that collides with the Hydro Pump and creates an explosion. When the explosion clears Wakin looks over at Ash who has 5 Pokeball's in his hands and speaks.
"You're battling us! Everyone come out!" Ash says he throws the 5 balls high in the air as Hitmonlee, Flygon, Boldore, Galarian Darumaka, and Palpitoad appear. The 5 mons stand next to Pikachu and immediately get into battle stances as Leaf and Misty speak.
"Come Out!" The 2 girls say as they send out their Pokemon. Misty brings out Vaporeon, Golisopod, Popplio and Tortuga. Sobble along with Quaxly jump off Misty's shoulders and stand next to their teammates while Misty safely puts Togepi in her backpack. Leaf's Pokémon consists of Venusaur, Salazzle, Arctozolt, Nidoqueen, Persian, and Poliwrath. Misty and Leaf's Pokémon stand next to Ash's Pokémon as they stare at Team Snagem's Pokémon with them looking back as Wakin speaks.
"Fine have it your way before we take the Crystal Onix, we'll get rid of you first" Wakin says as Ash speaks.
"We'll see about that!" Ash responds as all of their Pokémon charge forward and begin battling each other. Off to the side we see Tracey along with Mateo and Marissa. They've made it to a safe distance as Mateo speaks.
"Will your friends be, okay?" Mateo asks as Tracey speaks.
"Yeah, they're all strong trainers and will take care of Team Snagem while we save Onix" Tracey says with Mateo and Marissa nodding. Mateo brings out his Cloyster who allows Mateo and Marissa to get on its back while Tracey holds onto Maril and they all swim over to the Crystal Onix. Meanwhile, back to the battle there are explosions everywhere we see Leaf battling man 2 and calls for a command.
"Persian use Play Rough on Mightyena and Poliwrath use Dynamic Punch on Vigoroth!" Leaf calls Persian covers its claws in fairy energy while both of Poliwrath's fists glow white as they shoot forward going to hit their respective target Man 2 speaks.
"Muk block their attacks with Protect!" Man 2 calls his Kanto Muk gets in front of Mightyena and Vigoroth summons a protective barrier and blocks Persian's along with Poliwrath's attacks. The two mons try to break through the barrier but are unable to as they're then bounced away Man 2 calls for his next command.
"Now Mandibuzz use Air Slash!" Man 2 calls the vulture flies in the air its wings glow then flaps them fast firing out multiple slashes of wind as Leaf speaks.
"Arctozolt use Thunder!" Leaf calls Arctozolt quickly fires the large electric bolt that easily destroys the slashes of wind and hits Mandibuzz causing super effective damage and making it cry out in pain. Mandibuzz then begins to fall from the sky as Mightyena appears in front of Arctozolt and has its teeth ready as Man 2 speaks.
"Now use Fire Fang!" "I don't think so Salazzle use Flamethrower!" Both trainers' call. Mightyena covers its teeth in fire and goes to bite Arctozolt but Salazzle quickly fires the stream of fire which hits Mightyena making it go flying until it crashes into Mandibuzz. Both mons fall on the ground and are knocked out. Leaf along with her Pokemon cheer while Man 2 calls for his next command.
"I'm not done yet Vigoroth use Crush Claw on Salazzle!" Man 2 calls Vigoroth's claws glow a bright crimson and jumps forward going to hit Salazzle as Leaf speaks.
"Venusaur catch Vigoroth with Vine Whip then use Solorbeam!" Leaf calls Venusaur quickly fires its vines that wrap around Vigoroth. Vigoroth tries to break free but is unable to, Vigoroth then sees that Venusaur's done charging its Solorbeam as Leaf speaks.
"Fire!" Leaf calls Venusaur fires the grassy beam that consumes Vigoroth and sends it crashing into the wall behind Man 2. Vigoroth falls on the ground and is knocked out. Man 2 has an angry look on his face he looks at Muk and speaks.
"Muk use Sludge Bomb!" "Nidoqueen High Horsepower!" Both trainers call before Muk can fire the bombs of sludge Nidoqueen appears in front of it, Nidoqueen gains an orange outline she clinches her right fist and punches Muk hard in the face making the sludge monster crash into the ground creating a dust cloud. When the dust clears everyone can see Nidoqueen standing over an unconscious Muk as Man 2 speaks.
"No way…" Man 2 says in shock as Leaf smiles and speaks.
"We did it!" Leaf cheers along with her Pokémon. We now go over to Misty's battle with Man 1. We see Man 1's Mightyena go to bite Misty's Popplio and Quaxly with Thunder Fang, but the 2 mons jump out of the way avoiding the attack as Misty speaks.
"Now use Aqua Jet!" Misty calls Popplio and Quaxly cover their bodies in water shoot forward and hit Mightyena in the face. The hyena is sent flying a few feet away and lands on its right side knocked out. Popplio and Quaxly have smiles on their faces as Man 1 speaks.
"Vigoroth use Crush Claw!" Man 1 calls his Vigoroth jumps forward and goes to hit the 2 mons as Misty speaks.
"Tirtouga use Rollout!" Misty calls Tirtouga curls into a ball shoots forward and hits Vigoroths right side. Vigoroth groans in pain then looks at Tirtouga as Man 1 speaks.
"Knock it down with Hammer Arm!" "Tirtouga dodge and Vaporeon use Hydro Pump!" Both trainers call Vigoroths right arm glows white and goes to hit Tirtouga but the mon quickly dodges by backing away. Vigoroth then sees Vaporeon taking a deep breath as it fires a big stream of water that consumes Vigoroth and sends it crashing next to Mightyena knocked out. Man 1's surprised then calls for his next commands.
"Muk use Sludge Bomb and Mandibuzz use Dark Pulse on Vaporeon!" Man 1 calls as the 2-mons fire their moves at Vaporeon Misty speaks.
"Golisopod block those attacks!" Misty calls Golisopod quickly jumps in front of Vaporeon brings up its arms and successfully blocks the attacks. Sobble then appears on Golisopods right shoulder looks at Mandibuzz as Misty speaks.
"Now Sobble use Hydro Pump!" Misty calls Sobble fires the big stream of water at Manibuzz and hits it knocking it out of the sky. Mandibuzz crashes onto Muk the 2-mons groan in pain as Misty speaks.
"Now Golisopod use Liquidation!" Misty calls Golisopod summons two water swords shoots forward and slashes Muk and Mandibuzz. The 2 mons cry out in pain as they then lay on the ground and are knocked out. Man 1 has a surprised look on his face as Misty speaks.
"We did it!" Misty cheers along with her Pokémon. We now go over to Ash and Wakin's battle, Wakin's disappointed that his men lost as Ash speaks.
"Now that your teammates are defeated, I just need to beat you!" Ash says as Wakin looks at him and speaks.
"You make beating me sound easy, but you'll soon find out that you're wrong. Now Blaziken Fire Blast!" Wakin calls the fire chicken fires the big blast of fire as Ash speaks.
"Flygon counter with Stone Edge!" Ash calls Flygon quickly fires a large sharp stone that connects with the Fire Blast and creates an explosion. Out of the explosion appears Ash's Hitmonlee it's in front of Blaziken and has its right leg ready as Ash speaks.
Hitmonlee use Mega Kick!" "Dodge Blaziken then use Fire Punch" Both trainers call Hitmonlees right leg glows and goes to kick Blaziken but the mon bends backwards and avoids the attack. Blaziken then covers its right fist in fire and goes to punch Hitmonlee as Ash speaks.
"Hitmonlee counter with Dynamic Punch!" Ash calls Hitmonlees left fist glows as it connects with Blazikens right fist creating an explosion and causing both mons to slide away from each other as Wakin speaks.
"Now Grumpig use Psybeam on Hitmonlee!" Wakin calls Grumpig quickly fires the psychic beam it goes to hit Hitmonlee as Ash speaks.
"Palpitoad use Hydro Pump!" Ash calls Palpitoad quickly fires the big stream of water which connects with Psybeam and easily destroys it. The Hydro Pump goes to hit Grumpig as Wakin speaks.
"Vileplume use Leaf Storm!" Wakin calls Vileplume quickly fires the big storm of leaves, it destroys the Hydro Pump and goes to hit Palpitoad as Ash speaks.
"Boldore use Protect!" Ash calls Boldore jumps forward gets in front of Palpitoad and summons a protective barrier blocking the attack. When the leaves disappear, the Shadow Crawdaunt appears in front of the 2 mons and is raising its right claw as Wakin speaks.
"Now Crab Hammer!" "Pikachu use Iron Tail and Darumaka use Ice Punch!" Both trainers call Crawdaunt covers its right claw in water then goes to hit Boldore but Pikachu and Darumaka appear. Pikachu covers its tail in steel energy while Darumaka covers its right fist in ice, they go to hit Crawdaunt but the lobster easily knocks them away. Crawdaunt then sees Flygon flying towards it as Ash speaks.
"Use Dragon Rush!" "Counter with Crab Hammer!" Both trainers call Flygon covers its body in dragon energy while Crawdaunt covers its right claw with water and collides with Flygon. The two mons begin pushing each other back and forth trying to see who's stronger. Flygon notices Crawdaunt having its left claw opened as Wakin speaks.
"Use Hyper Beam!" "Flygon quick use Dragon Pulse!" Both trainers call the 2-mons fire their moves creating an explosion causing them both to slide back. Blaziken then suddenly appears in front of Flygon as Wakin speaks.
"Now use Flamethrower!" Wakin calls when Blaziken goes to fire the move Ash speaks.
"Hitmonlee use High Jump Kick!" Ash calls Hitmonlee quickly jumps in the air its right foot glows red and uppercuts Blaziken making it fire the Flamethrower upward. Blaziken looks at Hitmonlee with the kicking mon looking at it, they both land back on the ground then charge at each other as their trainers speak.
"Use Close Combat!" Both trainers call Hitmonlee and Blaziken clash with their fists first then begin kicking each other with each kick hurting more than the last. Their legs keep clashing with each other until they stop, both mons look at each other as both of their right legs start to heat up their trainers speak.
"Use Blaze Kick!" Both trainers call Hitmonlee along with Blaziken's right legs become covered in fire they go to kick each other as their legs collide creating a big shockwave. As both mons are trying to knock their opponents' leg away Wakin's Gumpig appears as Wakin speaks.
"Now use Psychic!" Waking calls Grumpig goes to fire the psychic waves as Ash speaks.
"I don't think so Hitmonlee use Detect and Pikachu use Extreme Speed then Iron Tail!" Ash calls when Grumpig fires the psychic waves Hitmonlees eye glows allowing it to back away as it dodges the attack. Pikachu then shoots forward at blinding speed and hits Gumpig causing damage to it. Pikachu quickly covers its tail in steel energy and slams it hard into Grumpigs stomach making it cough in pain as Ash speaks.
"Now Palpitoad use Hydro Pump!" "Vileplume Leaf Storm!" "Flygon Flamethrower!" Both trainers call Palpitoad fires the big stream of water while Vileplume fires a storm of leaves to stop the attack. Just when the Leaf storm is about to connect with the Hydro Pump Flygon fires the stream of fire easily gets rid of the Leaf storm and hits Vileplume causing super effective damage. Pikachu notices the Hydro Pump then jumps in the air and lets it hit Grumpig. Grumpig's consumed in the water and is sent crashing below Wakin's feet knocked out. Blaziken then reaches Pikachu and has its fists ready as Wakin speaks.
"Blaziken use Close Combat!" Wakin calls when Blaziken goes to punch Pikachu Ash speaks.
"Boldore use Stone Edge!" Ash calls Boldore quickly fires a large stone that hits Blazikens stomach making it cough in pain. Blaziken starts falling from the sky as it's about to hit the ground Ash speaks.
"Hitmonlee Blaze Kick!" Ash calls Hitmonlee shoots forward it covers its right foot in fire and kicks Blaziken sending it flying as it crashes next to Wakin knocked out. Wakin's getting mad and calls for his next command.
"Vileplume use Sludge Bomb on Hitmonlee!" Wakin calls Vileplume fires multiple bombs of poison that go to hit Hitmonlee as Ash speaks.
"Hitmonlee use Detect to dodge and Flygon use Dragon Rush!" Ash calls Hitmonlees eye glows as it jumps in the air dodging the Sludge Bombs. Flygon then flies towards Vileplume, covers its body in dragon energy and hits Vileplume sending it flying. Vileplume crashes next to Blaziken and Grumpig and is knocked out. Wakin's disappointed in his Pokémon and returns them. He then looks at Ash who's looking at his Pokémon then speaks.
"Great job guys just one more and we'll win!" Ash says with his Pokemon nodding as Wakin speaks.
"That may be true, but will your Pokémon defeat my Shadow Crawdaunt?" Wakin says as Crawdaunt looks at Ash's Pokémon and gets in a battle stance with Ash's Pokémon doing the same. We now cut over to Tracey, Mateo, and Marrisa, they've made it to the Crystal Onix who's still getting burned by the net. The mon is crying out in pain as Marissa speaks.
"Mateo can you save Onix?" Marrisa asks as Mateo nods and speaks.
"Yes I will don't worry" Mateo responds making Marissa smile as Tracey speaks.
"Before we take off the net, we need to cool down the fire" Tracey says with Mateo nodding as they call for a command.
"Use Hydro Pump!" The 2 trainers call as Maril along with Cloyster fire a Hydro Pump that connects with the net and gets rid of the fire. When the fire's gone Tracey, Mateo, and Marrisa begin trying to get the net off Onix as Mateo speaks.
"Don't worry Onix we'll get this net off you" Mateo says as Onix looks at him and nods. Meanwhile, back to where Ash and Wakin are they along with their Pokemon keep staring at each other as Wakin speaks.
"Crawdaunt use Hyper Beam!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt points its 2 claws forward and fires 2 big beams at Ash's Pokemon as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu use Thunder and Flygon use Dragon Pulse!" Ash calls Pikachu and Flygon quickly fire their respective moves that connect with the Hyper Beam's creating an explosion. Out of the explosion appears Hitmonlee and Darumaka they head for Crawdaunt as Wakin speaks.
"Use Shadow Rush!" "Hitmonlee, Darumaka dodge then use Rolling Kick and Ice Punch!" Both trainers' call. Crawdaunt covers its body in shadow energy then goes to hit Hitmonlee and Darumaka but the 2 mons manage to dodge. Hitmonlee shoots forward and begins to spin. When Hitmonlee gets close enough it kicks Crawdaunt across the face with its left heel. Darumaka appears, covers its right fist in ice and punches Crawdaunt hard in the stomach making the mon groan a little in pain. When Crawdaunt goes to counter Ash speaks.
"Boldore use Flash Cannon and Palpitoad use Hydro Pump! Hitmonlee and Darumaka dodge!" Ash calls Boldore along with Palpitoad fire their moves, Hitmonlee and Darumaka quickly jump out of the way so that they don't get hit. When the 2 moves are about to hit Crawdaunt Wakin speaks.
"Knock them away with Crab Hammer!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt covers its right claw in water and swings it easily getting rid of the 2 attacks. When that happens Pikachu and Flygon are heading towards it as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu use Wild Charge and Flygon use Dragon Rush!" Ash calls Pikachu and Flygon cover their bodies in electric/dragon energy respectively and hit Crawdaunt. They begin pushing the lobster back as Wakin speaks.
"Crawdaunt stand your ground!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt nods as it manages to stop Pikachu and Flygon from pushing it. The 2 mons continue to try and push Crawdaunt away but are unable to as Wakin speaks.
"Now Crawdaunt use Swords Dance then Waterfall!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt roars as it sharply raises its attack power and covers its body in water. Ash's unable to tell Pikachu and Flygon to dodge in time as Crawdaunt manages to knock them away making them crash next to Ash as he speaks.
"Pikachu, Flygon!" Ash calls in worry. When the dust clears both mons are groaning in pain but can still battle making Ash happy. Ash then looks back over at Crawdaunt and speaks.
"Now that it's raised its attack power it's going to be more difficult to defeat but I know that my Pokemon can do it" Ash says to himself as he calls for his commands.
"Boldore use Flash Cannon and Palpitoad use Hydro Pump!" Ash calls the 2-mons fire their moves as Wakin speaks.
"Hyper Beam Crawdaunt!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt points its right claw forward and fires a big beam that easily destroys the Flash Cannon and Hydro Pump. As the Hyper Beam goes to hit Boldore and Palpitoad Ash speaks.
"Boldore get in front of Palpitoad and use Protect! Hitmonlee, Darumaka run forward!" Ash calls Boldore quickly gets in front of Palpitoad and summons a protective barrier blocking the Hyper Beam. Hitmonlee along with Darumaka begin running towards Crawdaunt as Wakin speaks.
"Crawdaunt use your other arm to fire a Hyper Beam at those two!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt fires another Hyper Beam at the incoming Hitmonlee and Darumaka as Ash speaks.
"Flygon intercept it with Dragon Pulse!" Ash calls Flygon roars covers its mouth in purple draconic energy and fires a big Dragon Pulse that collides with the beam. Hitmonlee and Darumaka continue to head for Crawdaunt as Wakin speaks.
"Crawdaunt use Waterfall!" "Hitmonlee, Darumaka dodge!" Both trainers' call. Crawdaunt roars as it covers its body in water and goes to hit Hitmonlee and Darumaka but the 2-mons dodge. When that happens Crawdaunt notices Pikachu sparking its cheeks as Ash speaks.
"Now Pikachu use Thunder times 5!" Ash calls Pikachu lets out a mighty "Pika!" and summons 5 big Thunders that come crashing down on Crawdaunt. Crawdaunt cries out in pain as there's an explosion when the explosion clears Crawdaunt's still standing but groaning in pain. Hitmonlee and Darumaka then appear in front of Crawdaunt as Ash speaks.
"Himonlee use Close Combat and Darumaka use Ice Punch!" Ash calls Hitmonlee shoots forward and begins to repeatedly kick Crawdaunt with each kick doing more than the last and causing super effective damage. Hitmonlee then kicks Crawdaunt one more time and backs away. Darumaka jumps forward, covers its right fist in ice and punches Crawdaunt hard in the stomach making the lobster groan in pain as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, great job guys!" Ash cheers along with his Pokémon as Wakin smiles and speaks.
"You think that's enough to take down my Crawdaunt? Well let me show you how wrong you are. Crawdaunt use Hyper Beam on Darumaka!" Wakin calls before Ash can tell Darumaka to dodge Crawdaunt points both of its claws forward and fires a point-blank Hyper Beam that consumes Darumaka. Darumaka is sent flying and goes through a nearby wall as Ash speaks.
"Darumaka!" Ash calls in worry when he along with his Pokémon are about to go check on it Wakin speaks.
"Hyper Beam!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt quickly fires the beam, Ash along with his Pokémon notice and manage to dodge the beam. They then look at Wakin as he speaks.
"Your fight is with me remember" Wakin says while smiling making Ash along with his Pokémon mad as Misty speaks.
"Ash we'll go check on Darumaka just focus on defeating him!" Misty says as she along with Leaf and their Pokémon begin running over to where Darumaka went. Ash nods as he speaks.
"Okay guys let's Go!" Ash says with his Pokémon roaring in agreement as they along with Crawdaunt charge at each other and continue to battle. Meanwhile we come to where Darumaka landed, the mon's groaning in pain. Darumaka wants to continue battling but feels very weak, Darumaka wants to grow stronger but doesn't know how. Darumaka then notices something shining, it looks to its left and sees what looks like an ice stone. Darumaka starts crawling to it when Darumaka makes it, it looks at the stone and speaks.
"Daru" The mon says as it touches the stone and begins to glow. We now cut over to Misty, Leaf, and their Pokémon they've made it to the wall where Darumaka flew into. They look into it as Misty speaks.
"Darumaka are you ok-" Before Misty could finish, she along with Leaf and their Pokémon see Darumaka glowing and changing as Leaf speaks.
"Darumaka's evolving!" Leaf says in surprise as they continue to watch Darumaka change until it stops as it's now a Darmanitan and lets out a mighty roar.
"DAR!" The mon roars causing everyone to stop what they were doing as they look at where the voice came from. Suddenly Darmanitan jumps out of the wall it fell into, heads for Crawdaunt and punches it hard in the face with an Ice Punch. Crawdaunt is sent flying and crashes next to Wakin lying on its back groaning in pain. Wakin looks at Crawdaunt and is surprised. We now look at Ash along with his Pokemon who've surprised looks on their faces too as Ash speaks.
"Darumaka?" Ash asks as he pulls out his Pokedex.
"Darmanitan Galar Form a pure Ice type. Though it has a gentle disposition, it's also very strong. It will quickly freeze the snowball on its head before going for a headbutt." The Pokedex says as Ash speaks.
"You evolved?" Ash asks as Darmanitan looks at him and nods. Ash along with his other Pokémon smile as he speaks.
"Alright guys let's do this!" Ash says with his Pokémon roaring in agreement as Wakin speaks.
"Your Darumaka evolving means nothing Crawdaunt use Shadow Rush!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt quickly stands back up covers its body in shadow energy and shoots forward as Ash speaks.
"Flygon use Dragon Dance and counter with Dragon Rush!" Ash calls Flygon roars as dragon energy dances around it increasing its attack/speed. Flygon covers its body in dragon energy and flies forward colliding with Crawdaunt. The 2 mons begin pushing each other back and forth trying to knock their opponent away. As they keep doing that Flygon notices Crawdaunt getting its left claw ready as Wakin speaks.
"Now Crawdaunt use Crab Hammer!" "Flygon dodge!" Both trainers call Crawdaunt covers its claw in water and goes to hit Flygon, but the dragon quickly flies in the air avoiding the attack. Crawdaunt then notices Pikachu and Hitmonlee in front of it as Ash speaks.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail and Hitmonlee use Close Combat!" "Crawdaunt counter with Crab Hammer!" Both trainers call Pikachu covers its tail in steel energy while Hitmonlee gets its legs ready. Crawdaunt covers both of its claws in water and collides with the 2 mons. Pikachu and Hitmonlee begin to parry Crawdaunts attacks trying to hit it with Crawdaunt doing the same. The 3 mons keep going at it for a few more seconds until Pikachu and Hitmonlee actually land a hit on Crawdaunt Ash speaks.
"Now Boldore use Flash Cannon and Palpitoad use Hydro Pump! Pikachu, Hitmonlee move out of the way!" Ash calls Boldore and Palpitoad fire their moves. Pikachu and Hitmonlee quickly move out of the way as the two attacks hit Crawdaunt. Crawdaunt groans in pain as Wakin speaks.
"Crawdaunt use Crab Hammer!" Wakin calls Crawdaunt covers its arms in water and knocks the 2 moves away. When that happens Darmanitan's in front of Crawdaunt and has its right fist ready as Ash speaks.
"Darmanitan use Superpower!" "Crawdaunt use Shadow Rush!" Both trainers call Darmanitan bulks up its body and its right fist becomes a crimson red. Crawdaunt covers its body in shadow energy and collides with Darmanitan's fist. The 2 mons begin pushing each other back and forth Crawdaunt has the upper hand and starts to push Darmanitan back. But Darmanitan starts putting more power into its fist and starts to push Crawdaunt back as Ash speaks.
"DO IT DARMANITAN!" "DAR!" Ash and Darmanitan yell as Darmanitan punches Crawdaunt hard in the face and sends it flying. Crawdaunt flies past Wakin and crashes into the wall behind him. Crawdaunt tries to stand back up but ultimately stays down as it's knocked out Wakin then speaks.
"Impossible" Wakin says while having a shocked look on his face as Ash speaks.
"Alright!" Ash cheers along with his Pokemon, Ash then runs over to Darmanitan hugs it and speaks.
"Great job Darmanitan and congrats on evolving!" Ash says as his other Pokémon appear and congratulate Darmanitan too making the mon happy as it smiles. Misty and Leaf along with their Pokémon are happy that Ash won. We now go over to where Tracey, Mateo, and Marrisa are they managed to get the net off the Crystal Onix and look at everyone else as Marissa speaks.
"They did it!" Marissa says happily with Tracey and Mateo nodding. Meanwhile, with Wakin he's still surprised that his Crawdaunt lost he then recomposes himself and returns it. Man 1 along with Man 2 run over to him when they get close enough Man 1 speaks.
"What now sir?" Man 1 asks as Wakin looks over at the group he lets out a sigh and speaks.
"Let's retreat for now we're out numbered" Wakin says with his two men agreeing as they go to leave Ash speaks.
"Hey where do you think you're going?!" Ash asks as Wakin speaks.
"We're retreating, you kids won today but next time you won't be so lucky" Wakin says as he along with his men pull out some smoke bombs and throw them on the ground creating a smokescreen that causes everyone to cough. When the smoke clears everyone can see that Wakin along with his men are gone as Misty speaks.
"They got away" Misty says with the others nodding. Ash's mad that they got away but recomposes himself as he goes to join everyone else. When Tracey, Mateo, and Marissa make it back to everyone else they ask if they're okay with Ash, Misty, and Leaf saying they're. Once that's done Mateo looks over at the Crystal Onix and speaks.
"Crystal Onix I'm sorry about those people trying to capture you but now that they're gone will you battle me?" Mateo asks with his Cloyster standing next to him. The Crystal Onix looks at them and nods it gets in a battle stance as Mateo smiles and speaks.
"Thank you" Mateo says he then gets a serious look on his face and calls for a command.
"Okay Cloyster use Hydro Pump!" Mateo calls Cloyster fires the big stream of water and hits the Crystal Onix. When the Hydro Pump disappears, the Crystal Onix has an unfazed look on its face surprising everyone as Tracey speaks.
"Water moves have no effect on it" Tracey says as Leaf speaks.
"That's probably because of its crystal body" Leaf says with the others nodding. After that Onix covers its tail in steel energy and hits Cloyster sending it flying as it crashes into a wall. Cloyster falls on the ground and is knocked out. Mateo returns Cloyster and tells it thank you. He then pulls out his next Pokeball and speaks.
"If water won't work then maybe fire Go! Charmeleon!" Mateo says he throws the ball forward as a Charmeleon appears. The mon lets out a roar then gets into a battle stance as Mateo speaks.
"Use Flamethrower!" Mateo calls Charmeleon, quickly fires the stream of fire and hits Onix causing super effective damage. Onix then breaks out of the Flamethrower, summons boulders around it and fires them at Charmeleon as Mateo speaks.
"Charmeleon dodge that Rockslide!" Mateo calls Charmeleon begins to easily dodge the boulders. When it dodges the last one Charmeleon looks at Onix and begins to heat up its mouth as Mateo speaks.
"Now use Fire Spin!" Mateo calls Charmeleon fires the fiery vortex and traps Onix. Onix cries out in pain from the super effective attack then a few seconds later it breaks out of it. Everyone looks at the Crystal Onix and see that it's now a crimson red. Mateo stares at the mon and is in awe by its beauty. Onix then charges at Charmeleon as Mateo speaks.
"Dodge Charmeleon and use one more Flamethrower!" Mateo calls Charmeleon easily dodges Onix's attack then fires a big stream of fire that consumes the mon. Onix cries out in pain then when the Flamethrower disappears Onix lays in the water knocked out. Mateo looks at the mon he pulls out a Pokeball but then puts the ball back in his Pocket as Ash speaks.
"Are you not catching it?" Ash asks as Mateo looks at him and speaks.
"No, I'm not after battling it I've gotten inspiration for my glasswork, so I don't need to catch it" Mateo says with the group nodding Mateo then looks at Onix and speaks.
"Thank you for helping me find my inspiration" Mateo says with Onix nodding as it dives back into the water not to be seen again. After that the group go back to Mateo and Marrisa's shop where they see Mateo and Charmeleon working together making glassware. 1 hour later Mateo's done he looks at the group and speaks.
"And here they are I hope you all like them" Mateo says as the group look at the sculptures and are surprised that it's glassware of their Pokémon. The group have smiles on their faces as Ash speaks.
"Wow Amazing!" Ash says happily as Leaf speaks.
"They all look so pretty and full of life" Leaf says with the others nodding as Mateo smiles and speaks.
"Thank you, now that I've seen the Crystal Onix, it'll allow me to put more heart into my glassware and help our store. And These glass sculptures of your Pokémon that I made is my way of saying thank you for helping me" Mateo says with Marissa saying thank you too making the group smile. After that the group say their goodbyes to Mateo and Marissa and walk out of the store with the glassware of their Pokémon. As they're walking Ash looks at his glass Pikachu and speaks.
"As I keep looking at it, I feel like it could come to life at any moment" Ash says as Misty speaks.
"I feel the same when looking at my glass Sobble, Quaxly, and Togepi" Misty says with the group nodding. As they continue to walk Ash speaks.
"You know we've only encountered them twice, but Team Snagem and their Shadow Pokémon are tough" Ash says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, I agree their regular Pokémon are pretty easy to deal with, but their Shadow Pokémon have constantly given us trouble so far" Leaf says as Ash speaks.
"Yeah, we need to train so that when we do run into them again, we can beat them" Ash says with the group nodding. As they continue to walk Tracey turns to the right as something catches his eye, Tracey walks over and sees a poster. Tracey reads the poster, smiles, and speaks.
"Hey, I think this can help" Tracey says making the 3 kids curious as they walk over to where Tracey is. When they make it, Ash speaks.
"What're you looking at Tracey?" Ash asks as Tracey speaks.
"Read this poster" Tracey says as the 3 kids begin reading the poster. On the poster it says that Wikstrom of the Kalos Elite 4 will be hosting a training camp for trainers who want to grow stronger, and it'll be held on Knight Island. Ash, Misty, and Leaf smile as Ash speaks.
"A training camp hosted by one of the Kalos Elite 4? Sign me up!" Ash says as Leaf speaks.
"Yeah, this should help train us" Leaf says with Ash agreeing as Misty speaks.
"It says that the camp will be opened tomorrow" Misty says as Ash looks at Tracey and speaks.
"How long will it take for us to get to Knight Island?" Ash asks as Tracey speaks.
"Well, if there aren't any storms It should take us about a day while riding on Lapras" Tracey answers with Ash nodding as he speaks.
"Alright we've our next destination let's go to Knight Island!" Ash cheers along with everyone else. A few minutes later they make it to the beach Ash sends out Lapras they get on its back and begin heading for Knight Island.
We now shift our focus to Team Snagem headquarters. We see Wakin along with his 2 men they're inside Gonzap's office and are giving their report. Once that's done Gonzap has an angry look on his face and speaks.
"So, those brats got in our way again" Gonzap says in anger as Wakin speaks.
"What do you want me to do next sir? My men and I can go back to that island and try to get the Crystal Onix" Wakin asks as Gonzap speaks.
"No, I doubt that the Crystal Onix will show itself again it's probably long gone by now" Gonzap says with Wakin nodding as Gonzap continues to speak.
"Besides I've something else for you to do, yesterday we received 4 new recruits I want you to show them around the base" Gonzap says with Wakin nodding as he speaks.
"Very well sir" Wakin says as he along with his 2 men leave the office leaving Gonzap alone as he clinches his fists in anger. Meanwhile with Wakin we see him reach 4 people consisting of 2 tall men, a short man, and a woman. Wakin looks at them and speaks.
"You must be the new recruits tell me your names" Wakin says as the 4 look at him and one of the men speaks.
"My name's Key" The man says as the other man speaks.
"I'm Kojirō" The man says as the woman speaks.
"I'm Musashi" The woman says as the small man speaks.
"And I'm Nyarth" The small man says. Wakin looks at them and begins to think.
"These 4, I'm not sure what it is but I don't like them. But I'm always wary of new recruits and Gonzap did tell me to show them around" Wakin says to himself as he speaks.
"My name's Wakin I'm the second in command and whenever you address me or the boss you always call us Sir. Is that clear?!" Wakin asks as the 4 people speak.
"Yes, Sir Wakin!" The 4 people say making Wakin smile as he speaks.
"Good now follow me I'll show you your duties as new recruits" Wakin says with the 4 nodding as they all begin to walk Kojiro starts to whisper to Key and speaks.
"Infiltration complete" Kojiro says with Key nodding as he speaks.
"Yes, and now we begin our mission" Key says with Kojiro, Musashi, and Nyarth nodding. They continue to walk with Wakin as the chapter comes to an end.

It mostly stayed the same, but I did try to change it up a little bit by adding in Team Snagem and having Ash's Darumaka evolve into a Darmanitan. We also see that Looker, Jessie, James, and Meowth are now in Team Snagem and are in disguises.
Next chapter will come out next week it'll focus on the gang doing some training at Knight Island and introduce another rival for Ash, I hope you all look forward to it.
