Finite, sometimes the simplest of spells are the most effective:
After the end of the triwizard tournament and the return of Voldemort, Harry Potter refused to return to Privet drive. He made everyone think he was, but the moment he got near his uncle's car, he told them to piss off that he was leaving. He also told them that the evil wizard that murdered his parent's was back and would go after anyone connected with Harry. He also said he wouldn't lift a finger to help them. He wouldn't even piss on them if they were on fire, not after the way they treated him from the time he was left there. He almost laughed at the scared looks on Petunia, Dudley and Vernon's faces. He didn't care what happened to them and now they realised just what their treatment of Harry has done. It could mean their deaths.
Before leaving Hogwarts Harry had told Hedwig to find him the following day. He wasn't sure how owls could find people, but Hedwig just gave him a hoot which told Harry she understood. He couldn't be seen by muggle's carrying around a large snowy owl. People would remember that and Harry wanted to hide, as much as possible.
Harry put a cap on his head, turned and walked away. He used the cap mainly so people didn't see his scar. He also thought it would help cover his messy hair. If he kept his head lowered then no one would see his glasses. He made his way to Diagon alley and to Gringotts without anyone noticing the-boy-who-lived. He got money out of his vault, a lot of money, had half changed into muggle money. He went to the shop that sold trunks and enchanted bags. But it was the shop that sold something that Harry needed. One of the enchanted tents, like the one Mr Weasley had used at the quidditch world cup.
During the last week of Hogwarts, while Harry was doing a lot of thinking, he did speak to Hermione about a way to carry a lot of things without it being too heavy. She explained about the space expansion charm, which would allow you to carry huge amounts yet they all fit into a small bag. When Harry asked about the weight and how he would carry something like that, she explained about the feather light charm.
It only took Harry an hour to get both spells cast perfectly on his bag that he used for classes. Now that bag had everything he owned in it, including the tent. Next he needed to buy things like canned or packet food, along with stuff like tea, coffee, sugar and everything he would need for an extended stay camping in a tent.
Harry knew that Dumbledore and others would think Harry would be in danger being out on his own. But they were thinking like wizards. Harry planned to stay in the muggle world, in a muggle campground. Voldemort, nor his death eaters would look for Harry in a place like that. Almost all of them were pure-bloods that barely knew anything about the muggles and the muggle world. Harry knew he would be perfectly safe.
Harry planned to write to Sirius and if all went to plan, he would only be at the campground for a few days, maybe a week. But if he had to stay longer, he could and would. Harry planned to write that he would stay with Sirius only, no one else and he would never return to an abusive people like the Dursley's. If anyone tried to force him, he would leave and he meant he would leave the wizarding world and go hide with the millions of muggles.
Harry found the information on campgrounds; he chose one of the smaller ones. A train and a bit of a walk and Harry was finally there. He paid for a week, then went to put up his tent and relax.
Even though Harry knew Sirius would want his godson with him straight away, Harry wasn't planning on sending his godfather the letter for a few days. He wanted some time to himself. He never got any time alone. At the Dursley's, he was always working, with them sneering and sniping at him all the time. At Hogwarts, there were just so many there that it was impossible to get any time alone. Hermione also liked to know where Harry was, at all times. He cared about her, but she just didn't understand that Harry had the right to keep things to himself, if he wanted and he liked having some time to himself. She believed she had the right to know everything. Well, she will find out that she didn't have the right because Harry had done telling her or anyone, anything. He wasn't going to tell anyone anything he didn't want others to know. He had already decided to not tell Dumbledore anything. The old man had refused to tell Harry why Voldemort went after him as a baby and he never said anything about the dream, or vision Harry had before the quidditch world cup. It was time the man found out what it's like when he can't get the information he wants.
Hedwig arrived the following morning. Once Harry gave her some attention and some of his food, she went to her stand, put her head under her wing and went to sleep.
'Have a good sleep, Hedwig,' Harry smiled at his owl before he finished his breakfast. After cleaning up, Harry decided to sit outside and read. It was a beautiful day; he didn't want to stay inside.
The night before Harry left Hogwarts, he had snuck into the restricted section and removed a lot of dark arts books. He needed to know more. He wanted to know about the ritual that Voldemort did. He also wanted to know why he saw things and felt things from Voldemort. He knew that Dumbledore had the answers, but the old man would not reveal what he knew, especially to Harry. So, he had to find the answers himself. This was also why he hoped he could stay with Sirius. If his godfather promised to keep anything Harry told him to himself and helped with this research, Harry knew he would have help from someone who wouldn't look at Harry as too young. Not like Dumbledore, the other teachers, or Molly Weasley would think. They would want the adults to handle everything. Harry was somehow connected to Voldemort and he was determined to figure out how. It might help keep him alive.
It was five days before Harry decided to send his letter to Sirius. He had enjoyed his time alone in the tent. He had read and re-read the dark arts books he had taken from the Hogwarts library and he hadn't been disturbed by anyone. But he knew it was time, he needed to speak with Sirius who might be able to help him with what he discovered. He just hoped Sirius and probably Dumbledore, would agree to allow Harry to stay with his godfather. He might be in hiding, but Harry wanted to stay with someone he cared about, not the Dursley's, who he hated. But if the old man said no, then Harry would leave the wizarding world, for good. That's the only thing Harry would say to the old man if he tried to stop Harry staying with his godfather.
In a dark and rundown house in London, a few occupants of the house watched as a familiar owl flew into the room and landed in front of Sirius. Hedwig held out her leg. When Albus went to reach for the letter, Hedwig pecked, but pecked hard enough that Albus's hand ended up bleeding by the big chunk Hedwig had taken out of the old man's hands.
'I would say only Sirius can remove the letter,' Remus said.
Sirius slowly moved towards the owl who lifted his leg so Sirius could remove the letter, which he knew was from his missing godson.
Everyone watched as Sirius read the letter. Some were hoping he would have read the letter out loud, but he didn't.
'Where is Harry, Sirius?' Albus asked, sounding a little frustrated.
'Hiding, he said he refused to return to abusive people like the Dursley's. He said if anyone forced him, he would leave the wizarding world, for good. He also said he will only stay with me, his real family, but he doesn't want to be constantly watched. He wants us to get to know each other and he wants to learn about his parent's, but only from me,' Sirius looked over at his old friend, 'He feels if you could have run away after his parent's were murdered and how you never told him anything about James or Lily while you were at Hogwarts, than he can't trust you. He said he hasn't trust anyone in his life, due to his life with those muggles. He also said due to what has been going on at Hogwarts, danger, Snape and how innocent students get punished while the ones causing the trouble gets off, he can never trust any of the staff. But he said he can't trust you Albus as he knows you've been keeping things from him that he knows is about him. I thought about his friends and what he wrote about them in his last letter. He said they had both lost his trust. Ron, who told Harry he lied and entered the tournament and Hermione who seemed to believe she could decide things for Harry without speaking to him. Something about the Firebolt I sent him.'
'Miss Granger was concerned that the broom may have been cursed especially since there was no card. She spoke with Minerva. Minerva took the broom to Filius and Pomona so they could do some tests on it.'
'Did Hermione speak to Harry about her concerns?' Remus asked.
'No, she was worried about him and didn't think he would willing give up the broom.'
'No wonder Harry doesn't trust her. The broom might have been cursed but she should have spoken to Harry first so he could talk to Minerva,' Remus said, 'Harry would see Hermione going behind his back about something that concerned him.'
'And Ron refused to believe Harry so he feels his friend isn't trustworthy. You said you told them not to write to Harry because the letters could be intercepted. Harry would see that as betrayal. They aren't writing to their friend who they believed is stuck with the muggles. Don't say those people are his family Albus, Harry said abusive. Family that care would never abuse him. Because of their treatment of him, it taught him to be wary of everyone and not trust anyone,' Sirius glanced down at the letter, 'It seems Harry is giving me the chance to prove I am trustworthy and someone he wants to know. He sounds serious about leaving, if he has too. We know right now Harry's in danger.'
'Send him the address with the permission note,' Albus sighed, 'Even though I knew the Dursley's would not like Harry, I believed his safety was more important.'
'It seems to have backfired. He doesn't trust anyone and by the sound of it, he won't until they prove they can be trusted. At least I know now why he kept some distance from all of us when he stayed with us,' Arthur sighed, 'He actually flinched when Molly hugged him, now we know why.'
Albus sighed, 'Yes, we do. Alright, even though we will still use the house for order meetings, we won't crowd Harry while he is here. I still believe he is still too young to know certain details.'
'If he has another one of those visions, he will refuse to tell you if you won't trust him with details that concern him. He will know you will expect me to tell you so he won't tell me either. He doesn't trust anyone Albus, we have to show him that we trust him first then he might come around. I have no idea what information he thinks you're keeping from him, but it seems he does and he's not happy about it. He might be only fourteen, fifteen in a few weeks, but because of how his life has been, you could add another ten years to his age. Reading this, he doesn't sound like a teenager, he sounds older. He also sounds like he's had enough and won't put up with anything anymore,' Sirius stared down at the letter, 'This could be our only chance to prove to Harry that he has people he can rely on, but we have to be honest. I'm not saying he should join the order, but I do believe he needs to be told about the prophecy. You also know my opinion on guarding it when just having Harry take it out of the ministry would be the safest, for everyone.'
'I believe Sirius is right Albus. Tell Harry about the prophecy, then you can take him to the ministry to get it out of there before you-know-who decides to retrieve it. You could put a fake in there, make it seem like it's still there. Just don't tell Snape, or anyone else,' Remus said.
'I trust Severus.'
'You do, but Harry doesn't. I think it's time you kept certain details from Snape or Harry will never trust you. He see's you as someone that allows Snape to bully students and abuse his position. You said only you know the full contents of the prophecy, I think Harry should know, along with Sirius. That would go a long way for Harry. He will see that you are trusting him with vital information,' Remus said.
'Voldemort can easily enter Harry's mind.'
'Then I'll work on teaching him to close his mind. I might not have practiced occlumency for a long time, but I'm sure Harry would rather I teach him than someone he doesn't trust.'
'I was going to suggest Severus teach him as he is a master occlumense.'
'If you did that you would lose Harry completely. He hates Snape, so much so he would refuse, then his mind would be vulnerable.'
Albus sighed again, 'Alright. I will tell him about the prophecy and have him remove it from the department of mysteries. But I do not believe he should be informed about everything the order is doing.'
'We'll agree to that as long as anything about Harry is told to him. He will never trust you Albus if you keep things from him when they involve him,' Sirius said. 'Now though, if people need to stay here due to danger, they will have to know that Harry doesn't want them watching him. If for any reason he believes they are and telling you what he is doing or saying, it will make it worse.'
'I will talk to everyone in the order, so they know to leave Harry alone when they are here.'
'I have one more suggestion, that you should take seriously Albus,' Remus said.
'And that would be?'
'Snape; make sure he leave's Harry and Sirius alone when he is here. If Harry hears Snape say anything to Sirius or to him, he will never trust you, or anyone. I've heard some terrible comments that Snape said to Harry. That needs to stop.'
'He's taking his hatred of James and me out on Harry, he's abusing his position and getting away with it. I already said I won't stand for Snape to say anything about me while he is in my house. I'm already thought of as a murderer, so I will not hesitate to kill that bastard if he so much as looks at Harry the wrong way.'
Albus sighed once more, but he nodded. He knew he would need to control Severus or Sirius would do what he threatened. But Harry could do what he threatened and leave. If Harry left, the wizarding world than the muggle world would fall to Voldemort.
Harry looked up when Hedwig arrived back, with a letter, 'At least they didn't try to keep you girl. I was worried about that.' He smiled when Hedwig gave a couple of hoots before he removed the letter. He read the letter from Sirius, then read it again, 'It seems the old man finally realises I won't put up with him keeping things from me anymore. I still won't trust him, at least not straight away. Let's see how he goes first. But Sirius promised to keep anything we talk about between us.'
Harry told Hedwig to either go hunt then go to Grimmauld place or she can go straight there. He waited until his owl flew off before he began packing everything into his bag. He packed up the tent then left the campgrounds. He did give the owners a wave as he left.
Harry made it to London then followed the instructions Sirius wrote. It didn't take him long to get to Grimmauld place. He knew the house was under the fidelius charm, but Sirius had sent him the permission note that was in Dumbledore's writing. Harry just hoped the old man wasn't going to be there a lot. But even if he was, Harry didn't plan to spend any time with him, if he could help it.
Harry stepped inside. Sirius had wrote that he would need to be quiet the moment he entered the house and he would explain why once Harry got settled. He had only taken a few steps when Sirius stepped out on a room, then smiled. He gestured for Harry to stay quiet but to follow him, which he did. They went upstairs to the second floor and into another room.
'What's with being quiet?'
'This is my old home, I hate it, I always have, but it does have a lot of protection. My mother had her portrait done and it hangs not far from the entrance way. If she is woken up, she screams and yells at everyone and she can say some terrible things. Mudbloods and blood traitors are things she will call everyone. She hates the fact that the house is now mine and I'm head of the Black family. She wanted to disown me, but my grandfather said only one of his male heirs could become head. With a war on, he hoped one of his grandsons survived.'
'So, he had another grandson, apart from you?'
'My brother. This was his room. He became a death eater, then from what I found out, tried to leave. You don't just leave Voldemort. We heard he died, we don't know how or what happened.'
'Were you close?'
'We were, then he got sucked into that life. My parent's were all for pure-bloods and he was sorted into Slytherin so he had all them around him. We mainly spoke during the holidays. I think he realised his mistake straight away but couldn't do anything about it. Anyway, this is your room, you can use magic here and no one will know so you can change things like the colour of the walls, or anything really. I've removed all Regulus's things and stored them in the attic. At first I thought you might like to share with Ron, if they need to stay here. At the moment Albus thinks their safe to remain at the Burrow, for now, but it could change.'
'Even though I want them safe but if they come here, I would rather have my own space. I was so used to being locked up alone at the Dursley's that I just couldn't sleep properly at Hogwarts. It's why I only sleep about five or six hours a night. Every little noise from one of the boys woke me up.'
'Then this will be your room. I can show you some good sealing charms, which you can use when you want some privacy. So how about we go down and get some lunch.'
'Um, about the promise I asked for.'
'I did promise Harry and I will keep that promise. If there is anything you want to tell me that you don't want others to know, I'll keep it to myself. Is there another reason apart from the fact you want some privacy?'
'Yeah, but I'll explain after lunch and when we're alone. It's about him and why I had that vision.'
'Well, we are alone right now. But the order of the phoenix is using this place so they know to drop off any information that Albus might need to know. He plans to drop in only when there is a meeting but if someone brings any information he needs to know then they will let him know it's here.'
'Okay, so I'll just head upstairs or to another room if he's here.'
'You don't like Albus, do you?'
'No and I'll get to those reasons later.'
'Come on then.'
Harry and Sirius mainly talked about James and Lily while they had lunch. Sirius knew Harry didn't want to tell him certain things until he knew they would not be interrupted. The moment they finished lunch, Sirius showed him around the house then to the library. He sealed the room the moment they entered.
'That's a lot of dark arts books.'
'My family were dark. But how did you know they are dark arts books?'
'Well, it's one thing I need to talk to you about. See, after the pain I got, from him and the vision, I knew I needed to find out why. He uses dark magic, then did the ritual and Dumbledore said it was a dark ritual. I…um...took a lot of dark arts books from the Hogwarts library, from the restricted section. The invisibility cloak and map came in handy. I normally wouldn't, but since Dumbledore refuse to tell me why I have this connection, I decided to research it myself. I've found out why. There's good news and bad news, but I also think I found a solution to the bad news.'
'You're as bad as Albus sometimes, talking in riddles. I will say this though, Albus plans to take you to the ministry to retrieve…something and it's the reason why he tried to kill you as a baby.'
'Do you know what this something is?'
'I know of it, but not it's contents. Albus believes it's too dangerous for others to know, I agree with him. But I did tell him you need to know as it's to do with you. He still wants you dead, we know that, so you should have the information.'
'I do. Okay, so what is it?'
'A prophecy, a real one, made not long before you were born. Albus said it's about you and Voldemort. The first thing I asked when he told me was how does he know it's still active when he went after you as a baby. He said there is a line that mentions your scar and because Voldemort returned, then it wasn't fulfilled that night. Even though he did disappear, he didn't die.'
'I don't really believe in prophecy's but I know that you can get real seers. I wrote and told you about the one I heard.'
'Yes, you thought it meant me when it meant the rat.'
'So that tells me they can be interpreted many ways. I'll just have to wait and hear what it says.'
'I have to start teaching you occlumency, so you can close your mind. Voldemort only knows the first part of the prophecy, that's why he went after you as a baby. Albus found out that he wants to know the full contents. The only way he can is if he went to the department of mysteries himself to get it. Only those that are named on the prophecy can remove the orb from the shelf. You need to close your mind to stop him finding out what it says, it could give him some knowledge or advantage that we don't want him to have.'
'Okay, so we can start that later. But this information I found; I might not need it. I'll explain about that soon.'
'Alright, so let's go back to those books you took and the good news/bad news. Did you find out why you have this connection? And are you sure it's not just because you survived that night?'
'Yes, and yes,' Harry grinned as his godfather scowled which made Harry chuckle, 'It took constant reading over the last week to find out why I have the connection and it has nothing to do with surviving. I survived before this connection happened, only by a few seconds but it was before.'
'Come on pup, just tell me.'
'Okay, at first all I could find was a word and that it was the worst dark magic there is. There was one book that I took that hadn't been checked out for more than fifty years. It was actually hidden, not deliberately. It had slipped down between the shelf and the wall in one of the bookshelves. Somehow a small hole developed, enough for the book to slip down. Anyway, the word was horcrux and the hidden book had the information.'
'I've read about those,' Sirius gestured towards the books, 'It is the worst dark magic there is. But what has that got to do with this connection?'
'I have one behind my scar Sirius. Read the book and you will see for yourself. There is a big part about turning a person into a horcrux. It mentions pain and how if they get close to each other the pain will get worse. It mentions how the soul is connected to the original soul so it allows information to be passed from one to the other. The other book only said that a living being should not be made into a horcrux as they can think for themselves. Sirius, don't you get it, he doesn't know about me because if he did, he wouldn't have tried to kill me in the cemetery. He would have killed a piece of his own soul. Keeping me alive, means he lives, forever. Also, since he doesn't know about me then his soul must have been unstable the night he turned up at my home, which means he had one or more already. That was also in the book, how making more than one will make your soul unstable and also you will become less human. But I also think I destroyed one when I was twelve. From the time I told Dumbledore about what happened in the chamber of secrets, I noticed he watched me more often. He was constantly staring at me. I think he knows about me and probably the others, if there is more.'
'Fuck, okay, we need to work on a way to remove it. If he does have others than they have to be found or he'll win and take over. Even though I want to concentrate on the one in you, which I know what you said is true. We need to make plans and we need information. We also need to keep you safe. If he figures it out then he will do anything to get hold of you then keep you locked up somewhere. Okay, first, tell me how you came across a horcrux and how do you know it's his?'
'It was his diary that he used to open the chamber of secrets. Ginny Weasley had it, I know it was Lucius Malfoy that gave it to her. She ended up being controlled by the diary which is why she ended up opening the chamber and why she has no memory of the things she did. I don't know why I did it Sirius, but when I was down there and because I knew Ginny was going to die, because of the diary, I got angry so I plunged the basilisk fang I had in my hand into the diary. Sirius, the memory of the teenage Voldemort screamed like he was in pain when I stabbed the diary.'
'It's definitely a horcrux then. Okay, let's hope it's the only other one he made. If you destroyed that and it was the only one than he would not have survived to do the ritual. Okay, first we make sure the prophecy is out of the ministry, in case he takes over. We will have to talk to Albus because if he did figure out about the diary and you, then he would have tried to find out if Voldemort made more. He will also know that I will kill anyone that tries to kill you. I'll even kill Albus if I think he was going to try to kill you.'
Harry gave Sirius a smile, 'Thanks Sirius. Because of my life, how I was treated by the Dursley's and it was Dumbledore left me there, I wouldn't fight, or die for him. He would literally have to murder me. Because of Snape and how he allowed bullying to run rampant at Hogwarts, there's no way I would die. Also, almost everyone at Hogwarts turned on me when they thought I entered the triwizard tournament and the staff allowed all of them to harass me. But I got treated terribly by some of the staff since they believe I entered. Dumbledore didn't tell anyone that I didn't. Then I saw a lot of looks when Dumbledore announced Voldemort was back and he's the reason Cedric died. Add Fudge to that. No, there is no way I would give up my life for those people.'
'I wouldn't let you anyway.' Sirius had to take a couple of deep breaths so he could calm down, 'Okay, until Albus turns up, we research and find out how to get that out of you.'
'That's the good news Sirius, I think there is a very easy answer. But I don't want it done until we can check it on another horcrux. I'm positive it will work. First though, because of how he is and he's a parselmouth, I think he would have used strong enchantments to protect where they are. I also think he used snake language if there is some type of password. But the moment we have the horcrux, it will be easy to destroy it. Also, I don't want Dumbledore to know any of this just yet, since he's been too thick to think of this. For some reason I've found myself having to put up with a lot of stuff students shouldn't have to. I know I put myself in danger by going after the philosophers stone and going into the chamber to help Ginny. But the stone should not have been put at Hogwarts in the first place. Also, Dumbledore was gone and McGonagall didn't believe it was in danger so we had to go after it or Voldemort would have gotten hold of it. Voldemort was there and trying to get it and the old man decides to leave. Using a place that was full of untrained and innocent kids was just wrong, it was dangerous and damn stupid. I don't trust him and if he knew about what I found out, then he might do something to stuff it up. I don't want to take the chance.'
'Okay, we'll just tell him we found out about his horcrux, or horcruxes. He still might not tell us what they are pup.'
'We might not need to. See, I was trying to get my mind off what happened in the cemetery but I also needed to figure out why I had this connection. In the chamber of secrets, I think I felt it, felt the horcrux. I'm not positive and until we find one, then I can't test it. If I can feel them than all we need to do is find out where he might have hidden one.'
'I'll see if he will tell me. So how about you explain this idea that it would be easy.'
'Well, it's magic, dark magic, but still magic. Also, they don't need a specific spell or anything to keep the soul there. He kills someone than uses a spell to direct the soul into the item, that's it. They are only protected by the enchantments he does around the area he uses to hides them, but they don't actually protect the soul inside the item,' Harry could tell Sirius had no idea what he was talking about. It made Harry positive that he was right, most magical people who were raised in the wizarding world didn't always think of the easiest answer, or the most logical answer.
It was a few days later and Sirius was sitting at the kitchen table waiting for Albus to arrive to pick up Harry so they can get the prophecy out of the ministry. They decided to do it after everyone had left the ministry for the night. It would be safer for Harry. But all Sirius could think of was what Harry told him and he hit himself in the head. It was easy. That day that Harry told him, he wanted to do it straight away to Harry, but he also understood why Harry would like it done on another horcrux first. None of the books mentioned anything about what could happen to the vessel once the horcrux died. Sirius would never risk his godson being hurt so checking on another item first would at least allow them to see what sort of condition the item was left in once they got rid of the horcrux.
Harry and Sirius had been lucky, they found one and it worked just as Harry said it would. Once the soul left the vessel, it literally blew up. Also, the vessel looked perfectly fine. Now they had to deal with the others, Sirius just hoped the old man explained what the items are.
Sirius looked up when Albus walked into the kitchen, 'Before you and Harry go to the ministry, I should explain, especially since you are alone, that Harry found out how old Voldy survived. He also worked out about the diary. We would like to know what they are and where, if you worked that out. If the three of us concentrate on them then I believe you will have a bigger success in finding and destroying them.'
'How did Harry find out? Has he been reading the books from here?'
'No, he found what he needed from the Hogwarts library.'
'I remove all those books when I became headmaster
'I found one you missed,' Harry held up the book as he entered the room, 'It had slipped down in a gap behind one of the shelves. All the information is in here.'
'I get why you were curious Harry, but that is very dark magic. You should not have been reading that.'
'You kept information from me, information I needed to know. I won't just sit back and wait until you decide I should be told something. I came across the diary by accident which means it could happen again,' Harry looked at Sirius.
'We also found another and the only reason we know it's one of his items is because Harry felt it. The connection works with the items as well.'
Harry held up the locket, 'It seems Regulus Black took the real one, replaced it with a fake then told Kreacher to destroy this one. The elf couldn't fulfil his last order from his master, so he was slowly going insane.'
'He had enough of his mind left to explain how my brother went to his death in the hope he could help destroy Voldemort. The moment I told Kreacher we are going to destroy it; he was able to let go. He died seconds later. We worked out why Kreacher couldn't destroy it. Only a parselmouth can open the locket otherwise nothing will destroy the piece inside. There could be others protected by snake language. Apart from old Voldy, Harry is the only other parselmouth alive so you would need his help.'
'It doesn't look destroyed?'
'The horcrux is gone,' Harry said as he placed the locket on the table.
'Can you tell me how you were able to keep the locket intact while destroying the piece of soul?'
'I will, but after I've heard the prophecy.'
'Do you think that is wise Harry? You cannot close your mind to Voldemort.'
'I'll explain how that won't be a problem after I hear the prophecy.'
'Trust him Albus. He actually knows more about this than you realise. I began to think about the problem, which I'm sure you've done as well. Harry was raised differently from us and his solution was ingenious and so easy.'
'The sooner we get the prophecy and I listen to it, the sooner you will know how easy it is to destroy these things.'
'Very well. I am anxious to discover what you know. But I have to say Harry, I'm sure you realise that I could not explain after you brought me the diary. You were only twelve.'
'I was never twelve sir. I never had a childhood. I worked, every day so I had to grow up, fast,' Harry turned to his godfather, 'We'll be back soon.'
'Be careful and stay close to Albus.'
'I will. Everyone knows Professor Dumbledore is powerful. They would be foolish to take him on.'
'Then let's go and hopefully stop Tom getting his hands-on it.'
Sirius watched as his godson left with Albus Dumbledore. Even though he was still worried about Harry, he knew his godson would be safe with Albus. Harry was right, no one in their right mind would take on Albus Dumbledore.
Harry and Albus arrived back at Grimmauld place only half an hour later. Harry asked straight away how he can listen to the prophecy. Albus hesitated but one look at Harry and Sirius and he knew if he didn't explain they would not tell him how they destroyed the locket. He sighed, then explained how to activate the prophecy orb. As soon as Trelawney finished speaking, Harry looked up at Dumbledore.
'If you think about this logically, you could argue that I did fulfil that prophecy the night I was marked. He cheated death by creating horcruxes. Also, you are thinking of this the wrong way sir. Again, if you think about this logically and think about what he believes, then my parent's defied him more than three times.'
'What do you mean pup?'
'A pure-blood wizard married a muggleborn, or mudblood as they call them. That was defying Voldemort. My mother using magic every day is also defying them. It's how you interpret it. If you take it literally then they did physically defy Voldemort three times, but you don't have to take it that way. It doesn't really matter though. Voldemort believes it means me so he will continue to come after me now.'
'I see your point though Harry, you could argue about the interpretation. Sadly, you are also right about Voldemort. He believes you are the boy who is meant to vanquish him. He cannot allow you to live.'
'But I will live. Right now, it doesn't matter,' Harry sat beside Sirius, 'So to the information on how we destroyed the soul inside the locket and the soul behind my scar.'
Albus sighed as he sat down, 'I thought if you heard that it would frighten you.'
'It didn't, it just made me more determined to get rid of it. If you know anything about me sir, you should realise I would not have given up my life for this world when all it's done is brought me nothing but pain and misery. Then it's the way Sirius was treated. Right now, most of the wizarding world believe the lies that Fudge is having the Daily Prophet write. It doesn't worry me. I won't be returning to Hogwarts or having anything to do with the wizarding world.'
'You would be safer at Hogwarts.'
'Bullshit,' Harry glared, 'First, I was already kidnapped from Hogwarts. Second, are you going to kick out every student linked to death eaters, meaning every Slytherin and that includes Snape. I don't trust them, or you, not with my life. I will explain how to destroy these items and how easy it is, then I might see about killing him. I won't risk my life trying to kill him and I know exactly how to do it. It's one part of the prophecy that I worked out. The power he knows not.'
'It's love Harry.'
Harry burst out laughing, even Sirius chuckled, 'Albus, have you lost your mind? That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.'
'Love save Harry that night, love is what will destroy him.'
'No, it's not. Do you know how I am positive it's not love?'
'Enlighten me.'
'I have never loved anyone in my life, nor have I felt love from anyone. I learned to hate early on in life, not love. Right now, if I had to face him and had to go with your belief, we would all die.'
'Surely you love Sirius and your friends.'
'Remember what I told you Albus. Harry doesn't trust his friends because of what they did. You can't love someone if you don't trust them. As for me, Harry has only spent three days with me. That's not enough time for him to get to know me or know if he can trust me. We wrote to each other but that didn't allow Harry to get to know me. Because of his life with the Dursley's and because of Snape, it will take Harry longer than most before he gives his trust. Only then could he allow himself to care.'
'Your biggest mistake was leaving me with them if you think I could learn trust or love in that house. Because of them and the lies they told about me made everyone think I was insane or a criminal. It taught me not to trust anyone, to be wary of everyone. Never respect anyone until they earn it and know that most people will lie to you. One more thing I learned from living with those people, I learned to hate. I would gladly see them die and wouldn't lift a finger to help. I helped Ginny because she was Ron's little sister and at the time Ron was becoming a good friend. I only went to get the stone because McGonagall blew us off so if we didn't, Voldemort would have returned using that. I went to help Hermione in my first year because she was being bullied and I hate bullies. It's one reason I hate Snape, he's a bully and a coward. But none of it matters, I will use my idea to kill him and it's a power he wouldn't use.'
Albus sighed. He knew he had made many mistakes and most of them concerned Harry. Maybe Harry's idea was right, he wouldn't know until he heard. But he was right about the horcruxes and he had destroyed three of them yet he was only fifteen years old. Albus sighed again. He thought maybe he was just getting old.
'Let's leave all that. If you believe you are right then I will support you. Now, can you explain how you were able to remove the horcrux from the locket and your scar?'
Harry looked at Sirius then nodded, 'It was actually very simple and something that all witches and wizards use often. Apart from opening the locket, the only magic that was used was sending the soul into the locket. He must believe no one will find them so he's only used parseltongue or enchanted the place where the item is kept. Magic has been used on it, the dark magic to send the soul into the item. What do all of us do when we want to end a spell?'
'Finite encantatem. No, it can't be that simple.'
'It was. We tested it on the locket. The soul came out and exploded. When Sirius did the spell on my scar, same thing. I will admit that it hurt, a lot and I got a bad headache, but the soul exploded. Three down, Professor, how many more are there?'
'Four,' Albus sagged, 'I am getting too old. You are right about love. Your arguments about the prophecy could be right. You worked out how to destroy the souls without destroying the vessel. I have been working nonstop for two years to try to find a way to save you. You saved yourself Harry, just as you did with Quirrell and in the chamber. Youth and because being muggle raised you don't just believe, you question everything. Alright, it's time for you to watch some memories and see if you believe the same about the other items. It would be easier if you both came to Hogwarts.'
'We can do that,' Sirius said.
'And sometimes talking things over or having a second opinion helps,' Harry said.
'Yes, sometimes it does.'
The following morning Harry and Sirius used the floo to get to Hogwarts. They stepped out of the fireplace straight into Dumbledore's office.
'Before you brought me the diary, I had been studying Tom and collecting memories. There is one thing I found that happened around him. Many items went missing and he also liked to collect things, especially important items. The locket belonged to Salazar Slytherin. I believe he found an item that belonged to Helga Hufflepuff and maybe Rowena Ravenclaw. Now he would have liked an item that belonged to Godric Gryffindor, but there are only two items left that belonged to him. Every other item were destroyed hundreds of years ago.'
'The two items are sword and the sorting hat,' Harry said staring up at the hat.
'Yes. He might have wanted to use the hat since no one had seen the sword in hundreds of years until you pulled it from the hat. He could not get into this office so I believe he used something else.'
'How do you know he has something from Hufflepuff?' Sirius asked.
'The woman that owned the locket also owned the goblet that had belonged to Helga Hufflepuff. Both went missing right after he visited the woman. She died; the house elf admitted to adding poison to her tea.'
'So, he has the goblet. Any idea where it might be?'
'Not so far. I know of some locations but not which item was where. One item I believe he found, or stole was a ring that belonged to his wizard family. You will see the memory which will show you what it looks like. Now Rowena's item. From my research and speaking with Filius, there is only one item that no one has seen in living memory. Her diadem.'
'That's sort of like a crown, right?' Sirius asked.
'A tiara to be more precise,' Albus noticed Harry seemed to be concentrating, 'Harry?'
'You said no one in living memory. Have you spoken to the ghost of Ravenclaw?'
Albus sighed, 'You are showing me up Harry and showing me I am too old. I have not confirmed this but I believe the grey lady is Helena Ravenclaw, Rowena's daughter.'
'Then she would be the best person to speak with and she may even know if he took it,' Sirius said.
'I'll speak with her while you two watch those memories. The first one will show the ring but also show Tom's muggle father and witch mother. After that you will see a memory of mine, from when he came here to ask for the job of defence against the dark arts teacher.'
'He knew you wouldn't give him the job, so that was just to get him into Hogwarts. He was here to either find something or hide something,' Harry said.
'I believe the same. I am not positive but I believe he may have found something as a student but for some reason he could not take it with him when he left. It could be that he was still searching but ran out of time. Or he did find something and wished to hide it here at Hogwarts. We can talk it over once you see the memory.'
'So, the diary, locket and the one from Harry's scar is gone. You believe he has Hufflepuff's cup and maybe Ravenclaw's tiara, along with a ring, that's six.'
'After Harry explained what happened at the graveyard and the visions he had, I believe the last item is his snake.'
'Nagini,' Harry said.
'So, the snake will be hard to get too and we don't even know where the cup is or the tiara,' Sirius said.
'I had a theory. He gave Lucius Malfoy the diary. I believe he may have entrusted one of his other death eaters with one of his items. He could have used a few of his death eaters. I am uncertain if he did.' Albus said.
'He always trusted Bellatrix, Rodolphus and Rabastan. From what Regulus told me, those three were told everything along with Abraxus Malfoy. He never told any of the others anything until he was ready for them to cause trouble. But those four he did yet Abraxus died.' Sirius said.
'Then he may have given the diary to Abraxus, not Lucius, that doesn't matter anymore,' Albus said.
'The Lestrange's are in Azkaban, so if he did give them something it would have to be at their home,' Harry said.
'Their homes were destroyed after they tortured the Longbottom's.' Albus explained.
Harry's brow furrowed, 'Okay, he might have found something here or hidden something here. Now when Hagrid came to get me when I was eleven, he said the safest place to keep something safe was Hogwarts, but he did tell me that Gringotts was also one of the safest places to hide anything.'
'If it's in Bellatrix or Rodolphus' vault, I can get it since I am the head of the Black family. I can't go into Rabastan's vault as he is not related to me or married to a Black.'
'Then we will have to work on a way for you to sneak into Gringotts. We cannot use polyjuice potion or Harry's invisibility cloak. Goblins can detect those.'
'What about a muggle idea? It means no magic can detect it or undo it.'
'Can you explain what you mean Harry?' Albus asked.
'Well, I want to get contact lenses, now I'm not sure if you know what they are Professor but it would disguise Sirius' eyes.'
'I've never heard of them.'
'They work like glasses except they are small and sit right on the eye. There are no frames. As far as anyone is concerned, the person wearing contacts are not seen as wearing glasses. You can't even tell if you have them in. But there's more. You can get them in different colours. They even make ones for Halloween so you can have cat eyes or black eyes. You don't need to wear glasses to use them, but they do make them in a person's prescription. They can still work it for those to be different colours if that's what the person wants. We could get the no prescription ones, in brown or blue for Sirius. Also, dying his hair the muggle way. It would mean it would have to grow out. Also, there are shops where you can buy things like prosthetic's, like a fake nose. We could get one that is bigger than his normal nose, then it's just a bit of makeup so you can't see the join. But I thought of something else. Instead of dying his hair we get a fake bald cap which will make him look bald. They have all sorts of stuff that can change your appearance and no magic involved. Sirius could get into Gringotts no problem. The only problem I see is they would need to know Sirius is the head of the family, which could put him in danger.'
'The goblins won't care if I'm guilty or not Harry. But that won't matter as they wouldn't see me. All I have to do is allow them to see the Black ring. It will show them I am head of the family but not who I am. The ring can only be worn by the head of the family. The magic in the ring will stop anyone trying to put it on. The ring is inside my grandfather's office. If anyone put it on, it could kill them or send them to the mind damage ward at St Mungo's. I put it on after I spoke with my grandfathers portrait. He told me if I survived over Regulus, then I would be head of the Black family.'
'Then it looks like a trip into the muggle world. I believe Harry that you should…do a few changes as well. Get yourself these contact lenses, in a different colour as everyone knows you have Lily's eyes. You could dye your hair, but it's the scar that everyone knows.'
'A bit of make up will hide that. I thought of having it fixed once I was older.'
'It's done by dark magic Harry, I told you this.'
'True, but the muggle's can reduce and sometimes remove scars completely. It's a painful process called plastic surgery. This scar would be nothing for them to remove. It just couldn't be done straight away. You have to first see a specialist then a few tests before they book you in to have it done. Then you have to heal and muggle healing takes a lot longer. I can use makeup for now. I may be able to find something to cover it, like what they make fake noses and chins from.'
'Then we all have a lot to do, starting with the memories and speaking with the grey lady.'
It took Harry and Sirius more than an hour to see the memories in the pensieve. By the time they came out of the last memory, Albus was at his desk and the diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw was sitting on his desk.
'You are smarter than you let on Harry. Helena did take her mother's diadem. She hid it. When a young Tom Riddle was here, she trusted him so she told him where it was. Once he turned it into a horcrux, he hid it here while he was asking me about the job. I used the finite charm and it worked. You were right. I'm sorry for what you have gone through, for what I put you through.'
'I was so angry with you sir and at first I wasn't going to stay. But I knew you were trying to destroy him or stop him. I figured I would talk to you one last time.'
Albus nodded as he gave Harry a smile, 'So you do agree with the items?'
'Apart from one, yes, we do,' Sirius said then looked at Harry.
'The pain I used to get. The closer I was to him or if he was feeling powerful emotions, it caused the pain to increase. It got so bad in the graveyard that it put me on my knees. It was crippling.'
'Yes, I saw you in pain quite often.'
'Nagini is a living being, she didn't act like she was in pain. He touched her. When he touched me, the pain was worst than the cruciatus curse. She didn't show any type of discomfort.'
'It makes sense Albus. If the snake was one then it would show pain. I think the three of us should watch Harry's memory of that night to make sure, snakes may show some other sign of discomfort, but I believe Harry is right. We still try to kill the snake, just in case, but I don't think it's one.'
Albus sighed, 'That did not even occur to me, yet it should have. You are really showing your intelligence Harry. You do not do that in class.'
'Dursley's beat me if I did better than Dudley and he was like Crabbe, dumb as an ox. Then I saw how everyone treated Hermione,' Harry shrugged.
'So, you dumbed yourself down,' Sirius sighed then hugged his godson.
'Again, all I can say is sorry. I believed Petunia would treat her last living relative as family. I cannot change what you have already gone through, so, let's move on. We can watch the memory, but for now do you have any idea what the last item could be?'
'One that makes perfect sense. See, after he came out of the cauldron, he had the rat put a robe on him then he held out his hand and said wand. Peter placed Voldemort's wand in his hand. The wand is always with him, apart from that night when his body disappeared. The rat must have been there and taken the wand. He kept it all these years, not realising it's significance.'
'Blimey pup, you're right. Only someone like Albus could have a hope of getting that wand off him.'
'You are right Harry. He can do a lot of wandless magic, but the times we fought, he always used the wand. Even if I disarmed him, or beat him in any way, the wand might change and bond with me but it would still have a connection to him. There are no other founder's items or anything that belonged to his magical family. The wand is the only other item he would feel a connection too. He knows he cannot use it against you. Before we continue with this, you said you know what the power he knows not is. Can you explain?'
Harry smiled, 'A muggle gun. Those things are dangerous and powerful. All I need is a clear shot and I could shoot him in the head. Now if I had time, I could learn to use a sniper rifle which means I could be up to a mile away from him. Snipers are used all the time in the muggle army. They take out enemies without putting themselves in danger. I know it's stealing but I can put it back once I'm finished.'
'Would our shields stop one of those guns?' Sirius asked.
'I doubt it. If he saw it coming, he could conjure a large boulder, but if he had no idea it was coming, he would be dead before anyone knew what was happening. I just need to practice, a lot. I need to be somewhere isolated so I don't accidentally hit someone.'
'You could use the far side of the lake. No one goes there.'
'That's an idea but it's the distance. If say he turns up in Hogsmeade then I could be on a roof using my cloak. Most sniper's lay down with their rifles, or sit with the rifles on something like a table. There isn't a lot of space on the other side of the lake that would give me a clear shot, it's all trees. Maybe I could just go up into the moors. If I could learn to apparate I could place targets at different lengths then apparate back to my spot.'
'I could do that pup. If we get these disguises you were talking about than no one would see Sirius Black. I could keep placing the targets then apparate back to you. You know, I could also learn that way if something happens like a strong wind then one of us might be able to take him out. Oh, think of this Albus, if he didn't have the horcruxes he would have died that night. The prophecy would have been fulfilled. If we destroy all of them than I think anyone could kill him. We stick to Harry trying first but it doesn't mean others can't try.'
'Since there is a chance the prophecy was fulfilled then yes, you can train with Harry. First thing tomorrow you should see about these disguises. If Sirius uses your cloak Harry then he can be beside you without the risk of being seen. I will think about how we might separate Voldemort from his wand.'
It didn't take Harry or Sirius long to find what they needed. Sirius wasn't keen on looking like he was bald because he said it made him look thirty years older, it also made him look like his mother. Harry couldn't but laugh at those comments Sirius made. But Sirius and Harry knew no one would suspect that the bald man with brown eyes was Sirius Black. Harry was also going to go with brown contact lenses once he had his eyes checked. It would look like Harry and Sirius were related in some way.
Harry was also able to get some prosthetic's that would hide his scar. Sirius got a nose that was almost as big as Snape's huge nose. He hated it, but again, no one would see Sirius Black with a bald head and a huge nose. Sirius also decided to add a bit to his chin. Harry bought dye for his hair, so now he had a natural looking blond hair. At first he thought of going with red, people might believe he was related to the Weasley's. But he also remembered that his mother had red hair. So, whether it was ginger or auburn, they were both red and could make someone suspicious which is why Harry went with blond.
Harry, with Sirius acting as his father, had an appointment to have his eyes checked so he could get contacts. He planned to get normal proscription ones but he would also get the brown to match the fake brown ones that Sirius was going to get.
They decided to have a test run on their disguises, with Albus using Harry's invisibility cloak. A blond-haired brown eyed Harry and a bald and brown eyed Sirius walked along the cobbled street leading up to Gringotts. No one looked twice at them, but Albus was keeping watch and his wand was in his hand, ready to stun if he needed to. He had given Sirius a portkey back to Grimmauld place. If there was danger, Sirius and Harry could be gone straight away.
Harry remained in the lobby while Sirius went to the Lestrange's vault. It was easy. All Sirius had to do was show the head of house ring and the key, the goblins took him straight to the vault. He was told about the curses set on the vault and as head of the Black's; Sirius was able to stop them for the duration on his time in the vault. He saw the goblet straight away. As the goblins remained outside the vault, Sirius was able place the goblet in a bag Albus had charmed, then replace it with a fake. Albus had cast a few dark curses on the goblet so if anyone was able to get into the Lestrange vault, for the horcrux, it would show dark magic. They did not want Voldemort to find out that he was losing his horcruxes or it could make him wary where he would not come out in the open. That would be needed when Harry was ready to kill him.
The three arrived back at Hogwarts via the floo in the hogs head. Albus cancelled the magic on the goblet and like before, the soul screamed as it died.
'As I explained, the ring is inside the shack, but there are many enchantments that I believe are linked to snake language. I did try to break them, two snakes appeared and attacked.'
'Then we can see about that tomorrow,' Sirius said, 'I can act as guard while you two work on the snake's and other enchantments.'
'Yes, I was going to suggest that now I know your disguises work.'
'Have you figured out how to get the wand, professor?' Harry asked.
'I do not believe that would be possible. But I had a thought. This gun idea you had. If I was able to summon the wand right as you shoot him, I believe both souls will die. I know I have to be quick in cancelling the magic which would mean the order and others will need to keep the death eaters occupied to give me time to get the wand.'
'Will cancelling it work on a wand that has magic infused into it to make it work?' Harry asked.
'Yes, it will. When a wand is made, the core comes from a magical animal, but the item, whether feather or hair does not have any magic once it's been taken from the animal. The magic comes from the user. The core just helps us direct our magic; it does not have any magic itself. If it did, a muggle could use it.'
'So even though my core is a feather from Fawkes, it's basically just a feather, from the moment Fawkes gave it?'
'Yes. Many wand makers believe that we could use a non-magical animal, such as a dog if we put some part of a magical animal with it, like blood, or a hair. When asked why bother when we have the hair or blood, some said that it's not always easy to get hair, feathers, scales or other items from a magical animal. They must be donated or taken from an animal that has died from natural causes. The basilisk is an example I can use. If you took a scale from that snake and gave it to Garrick Ollivander, it would not connect with your magical core as you killed the snake. If the snake died from old age then it's scale could be used. The unicorns in the forbidden forest will donate a tail or main hair, but not very often. I'm sure you've seen the unicorn hair in Hagrid's hut. He has been asked by some students why he does not sell them to Garrick. Those students end up quite surprised when Hagrid explains why they would not work.'
'That's fascinating. I never knew all that about wands or their cores. And even though we should be focusing on Voldemort and his wand, there is a question about wands I would like answered, if you know, sir.'
'Then ask, but I am not that knowledgeable about wand and wand lore as someone like Garrick is.'
'It's just my wand core and Voldemort's, you said they are brothers and Fawkes never gave any more feathers. Do you know when they were made? I just find it curious that we both got the only two feathers from Fawkes and we're linked by this prophecy.'
'Fawkes has been at Hogwarts as long as I have. Most believe he is my familiar, that is not entirely true. Yes, he remains with me and is very loyal, but Fawkes is connected to Hogwarts. I believe he came here during the founders time, yet I have never been able to find any proof of that. Now as to those two feathers, he gave them to me when I first became a teacher and I was teaching for many years before Tom was born. Those wands were both made at the same time, before either of you were born. Right now, I believe if you were to select a wand, or allow a wand to join with you, it would not be that wand. I believe the soul behind your scar influenced the selection.'
Harry nodded, 'I think you're right because ever since the soul was destroyed, my wand just doesn't feel the same. I'm still able to cast easy enough, even the patronus charm, it's just like something is missing when I'm holding it.'
'It might be worth getting another wand, yet we can't let Voldy to find out,' Sirius said.
'I'm sure we can work on a late-night visit to the shop. Garrick will keep this information quite.'
'I might after this is over. I would rather keep this wand for now as it does make it join to his which did save my life.'
'Yes, that is your decision. Well, now it's getting late and we have the ring to get tomorrow. Since the shack is not far from the graveyard, I would suggest we do this tomorrow morning, early tomorrow morning.'
'I say around four or five,' Harry said then smiled as Sirius groaned. Albus smiled as well. Not many people like the idea of waking that early in the morning.
It was still dark when Harry, Sirius and Albus left Grimmauld place. Albus had no trouble getting the ring once Harry controlled the snakes. The moment Albus held the ring in his hand he wanted to wear it. Harry had seen the look the man had when he stared at the ring and quickly summoned the ring straight into the bag he had over his shoulder.
'Thank you, Harry,' Albus panted, 'There must be some type of compulsion charm on it. Do you detect anything?'
'No, it seems you have to be touching it to feel the compulsion. I wonder what would happen if you gave into the compulsion and put that ring on.'
'Either instant death or some painful way to incapacitate. Let's go, I'm sure Sirius is anxious to see you.'
'Oh, he'd be a nervous wreck,' Harry said then left the house with Albus following.
'Did you find it?' Sirius asked the moment he saw his godson and Albus.
'Yes, but it has a compulsion charm on it. Harry saved me from putting it on. Let's go back to the castle and destroy it.'
The moment the three of them were in the office, Harry placed his bag on the chair then opened it. Albus summoned the ring and directed it onto his desk. Sirius stood with his wand in hand making sure he was ready, in case anything happened. Albus ended the magic on the ring and again the soul of Voldemort screamed.
'The diary, the locket, the diadem, the goblet, the ring and the one in Harry is gone. We just need to get the wand.'
'Then we should go get these guns so we can practice. But how are we going to know when he will appear so we can get into position?' Sirius asked.
'I will think of a solution. Right now, we have some time as I do believe he is still working on some plans. I will let you both know if I hear anything.'
Harry and Sirius used the floo to go back to Grimmauld place. Since they were already in disguises, they decided to get the guns straight away. Once they had the ones they needed, they could rest for the day and begin practicing the following day. Harry thought they could also take a tent with them so they could have a bathroom and be able to get something to eat while they took a break. Sirius liked the idea and decided to buy one, before they went to get the guns. Harry reminded Sirius that he bought a tent, he had been using it before he arrived at the house.
They would leave a note for Albus so he would know why they might not be seen at the house very often. They wanted to train until they knew they could shoot properly and straight. They also didn't want to be disturbed by messages while they were practising. They wrote that only send a message if it was really important.
Harry and Sirius found it too easy to steal what they needed. They took many different rifles and amo, along with scopes. Even if they might not use them all, they decided to try each one until they found one they felt comfortable with. Sirius took Harry by side-along apparition to the moors. They set up the tent and unpacked their food that was in Harry's enchanted bag. Once they had everything set, they began to look through the manuals on each gun. It had been Sirius's suggestion to take some manuals so they would know how each worked and what it could do.
Even though Harry was raised in the muggle world, learning about guns wasn't something school kids learn. Sirius knew next to nothing about them, except they were a weapon that could kill. The manuals allowed them both to study up on each weapon before they touched them.
Harry and Sirius remained in the moors for a week, reading, then practicing with the rifles, without actually firing them. Once they got the feel of them and how they felt being held and in the right spot, they began to do what they were meant to do, shoot. Sirius would set up targets then apparate back to Harry. After shooting the targets the first time, Sirius would do it again. He also began to teach Harry how to apparate.
The first lot of shots were all over the place. They would change weapons and try again. Once they found one they liked, they would continuously practice with that gun.
They went back to Grimmauld place to have a break, but they planned to continue practicing the following day. They had only just finished eating when Albus arrived.
'I set an alarm on the kitchen to tell me when you arrived back. From what I have been able to find out, he is still working on some big plans, one is to break into Azkaban. But the good news is that he was seen, by almost the entire auror department and Cornelius. He went to the department of mysteries to get the prophecy. I found out he sent someone to retrieve it a week ago, the man ended up with brain damage. I believe he may have tried to send you a vision so you would retrieve it but as you did not appear inside the ministry, he realised he had to go himself.'
'So at least everyone will know we were telling the truth,' Harry said.
'Yes, they will. Amelia Bones sent a statement to the Daily Prophet, then she threatened Cornelius with Azkaban. He put every life in danger by refusing to admit the truth. He realised due to his mistakes and listening to people like Lucius Malfoy, no one will trust him anymore. Cornelius resigned, but he also sacked his staff before having Amelia work on arresting Lucius along with the others that were in the graveyard that night. Not only was Cornelius listening to Lucius, his staff were also telling him you and I were lying. The statement will have the minister's apology to both of us Harry.'
Harry nodded, 'Let's hope we get a better minister and not one that only thinks of how he looks and not do his job.'
'I know of at least four people who could easily win the election. All of them will work for our world.'
'That's good to hear Albus. Hopefully, whoever ends up minister will listen to my story.'
'I am working on that as well, Sirius. But onto our plans. I believe I have come up with a way to lure Voldemort to where you are Harry.'
'Since Harry is the person he wants to kill personally, he would show himself if he thought Harry was there. Also, since he went after the prophecy then realised it was gone, he would believe Harry has it. He will be desperate to get hold of Harry,' Sirius said.
'Exactly. I spoke with Nymphadora and she has agree to become Harry so he is seen in Hogsmeade. I plan to make sure the students cannot leave the school but I also plan to have the order there, disguised.'
'So, Tonks as me, shows herself and we wait,' Harry said.
'Yes, I will use Alastor's spare cloak but also have one of the house elves pop me close to where he is the moment he arrives. I would use Fawkes but his flames would be seen. A house elf can move around quietly.'
'So, the moment he appears we both begin shooting,' Sirius said.
'Nymphadora already knows she is to disappear the moment he arrives. I plan to give her a portkey. They will put up anti-portkey and anti-apparition wards to stop people leaving. The portkey I will give Nymphadora will take her into the Hogs Head, not outside of Hogsmeade or the wards. We may only get one shot at him so how has your practice been going?'
'It's good now, but I'm glad we spent the last week practising. Our first shots were all over the place and missed more often than hitting the target. Harry ended up better than I did but I can still hit the target now. Harry gets the centre every time.'
'Then let us plan for when this will happen.'
Sirius, Harry and Albus sat around the table working on their plans. They needed to make sure everyone was as safe as possible, especially Nymphadora. Sirius explained that he had noticed Remus has been taking a lot of interest in his cousin so if he knew Remus at all, Sirius believed Remus would like to be close, in case she needed some extra protection. The portkey can be set for the two of them. Only someone close to Remus and Tonks would know this so making it seem like Remus is with Harry would not be suspicious.
Albus did listen to Sirius and Harry's ideas and he admitted that they came up with some great plans. They also worked out the best place to stay while they used their guns. Sirius and Harry would be lying on the roof of the Hogs Head and covered with the invisibility cloak. If anyone did fly over, using brooms, no one would see them. Albus liked the idea so he was going to speak with his brother so Sirius and Harry could sneak in there earlier in the day. They could remain out of sight until it was time.
When they finished talking, Albus called a meeting of the order of the phoenix for that afternoon, he also wanted Minerva and Filius there as well. He also wanted to include Poppy, in case anyone got hurt. Severus Snape would not be invited. Albus came to realise that even though Severus was on Albus's side, he could not let go of his hate for James Potter and Sirius Black. None of them wanted to take the chance that Severus might give into that hate and inform Voldemort where Harry and Sirius was. It was safer all round to keep this information away from Severus.
The moment the order arrived, Molly Weasley instantly tried to make Harry leave. She even began to argue with Sirius and Harry. Albus was the one that explained that Harry would stay and he was the one that had to finish Voldemort. He refused to say why, only it was vital, otherwise Voldemort would just return, again. Sirius had to remind the woman that she was not his mother, Lily wanted him, Sirius to be Harry's parent if they died and he wanted Harry at the meeting. He also said he needed to be there as Albus said.
Albus laid out his plans and also worked out who would be in Hogsmeade, disguised. Molly instantly asked about the children. Albus explained that they would not be there. He would be making sure the castle is locked up tight so no student could sneak out. He explained that Amelia was going to send a few very trustworthy aurors, but they only knew that Voldemort and his death eaters could turn up. They would not know anything about Harry or the gun.
After a lot of talking, it was worked out who would be in Hogsmeade and who would remain behind in the Hogs Head to use as backup if it was needed. They would have one more meeting before. Many in the order realised this plan would happen once the students were back at Hogwarts. Harry would not normally be near the town during the holidays, so to make it work, it had to seem like Harry had snuck out of the castle once he was back at Hogwarts as a student. Which means they had to make it seem like Harry returned to Hogwarts, just like any other student.
'Since we have got another couple of weeks before the holidays finish, is there anything you want to do pup?'
'Well, we know our disguises work. Maybe we could pick up some other types of prosthetic's then go visit places. I've never been anywhere and there are a lot of places I would like to see.'
'That's easy to arrange. We can work on overseas holidays after I'm cleared. Okay, so tomorrow we'll go work on some other disguises and go act like tourists.'
Harry and Sirius had fun over the next couple of weeks. They went out every day and every day they looked different. Sometimes they did go out with their disguises but used the invisibility cloak. There were many area's that even wizards visit. The places like Buckingham palace was safe but places like Stonehenge often got magical visitors. It was safer to use the cloak. Sirius' favourite place had been the theme parks, he loved the rides.
Albus spoke with Harry and Sirius again to make sure everything was set for their plans to finally finish Voldemort. Albus also had one more meeting with the order of the phoenix before the students returned to Hogwarts.
After Albus left Sirius and Harry stared at each other, 'So one more week and it should be over,' Sirius said.
'Yeah and that idea to allow Tonks to act like me at Hogwarts so some of the Slytherin's overhear me talking about sneaking into Hogsmeade, will work perfectly. They won't be able to resist telling their parents.'
'If Tonks was around when us Marauders were there, we would have often used her to make people overhear fake plans so no one could pin things on us. Your dad's cloak was used a lot but having a metamorph would have been a whole lot better.'
'It would have. Well, you can spend the week teaching me spells. I need to learn and you're here with nothing to do. You can help your godson.'
'I've already been working on a schedule. I wasn't going to allow you to slack off just because you don't want to return to Hogwarts. I don't blame you but you do still need to learn.'
'I know and I trust you so I know what you'll teach me will be stuff I need to know.'
Harry spent the week learning spells from Sirius. Some were sixth and seventh year. He did learn fifth year spells in case he did want to take his owls. Harry hadn't decided but he knew he had the option of taking them as soon as the summer holidays began.
It was the day after the students returned to Hogwarts that Harry and Sirius did get a message from Albus about Draco Malfoy sending a letter off to his father right after hearing Tonks as Harry speaking with the Weasley twins about sneaking into Hogsmeade the following day.
'We need to get a good night's sleep, yet we both know what will be going through our minds. I had Albus send two dreamless sleep potions. He did and said he would also be taking the potion along with the others who are going to be in Hogsmeade.'
'It's all I can think about, so it's a good idea to use the potion.'
Sirius held out the small vial then followed Harry up to his bedroom. Harry knew his godfather was worried, so he didn't mind Sirius being a little overprotective. After changing and getting into bed, Harry drank the potion instantly.
'Night Sirius.'
'Night Harry,' Sirius waited until his godson was asleep before he went to his room. He stripped off then climbed into his bed. He did what Harry did and took the potion straight away. He fell asleep with the hope that Voldemort and some of his death eaters would be dead the following day, then he thought no more.
Harry and Sirius didn't talk much while they had breakfast. As soon as they finished, they stared at each other, nodded then picked up their bags.
They used the floo to the hogs head. Aberforth Dumbledore was waiting for them. He didn't speak, just led them through his flat and pointed to the hatch in the roof. Harry and Sirius nodded. The moment the older man went back to his pub to open it up to visitors, Harry and Sirius climbed up through the hatch. They kept low while they set their stuff up, then Sirius cast some cushioning charms on the roof that they would be lying on.
As soon as everything was ready, Harry pulled the cloak over both of them. Sirius used magic to make sure all of them were covered.
'Now we wait,' Harry said in a whisper.
'I don't believe it will long, but I haven't seen anyone that doesn't work here. I'm sure he must have sent someone to make sure it's not a trap and to watch for you.'
'They could be hiding using a cloak Sirius. For all we know the rat is the one watching.'
'True. Okay, let's stop talking and just concentrate.'
Harry could tell Sirius was nervous, just like he was. If this worked, it would mean the end of Voldemort, for good. If it didn't, it could mean their plan failed and would need to figure something else out. He took a couple deep breaths to help him calm down.
Time seemed to drag slowly, very slowly. At one time they did see a shimmer and realised someone had finally arrived to check out the area. The person was using a disillusionment charm which told them it wasn't Peter. They also hoped it meant that no one could get hold of an invisibility cloak otherwise they would have used that.
Only ten minutes after the person arrived, they heard some popping in the distant. That told them the death eaters and maybe Voldemort had arrived but they arrived outside of the town. Harry and Sirius were surprised that they arrived early. A few minutes later they saw exactly who had arrived.
'Phoenix,' Sirius whispered into the mirror.
'Yes,' Albus said as he answered the mirror.
'They're here, even him, but outside the town.'
'Okay, I'll sneak in using the tunnel, the others will arrive by floo. Five minutes.'
'We're ready,' Sirius said.
'Let's get ready,' Harry said then rotated his neck a few times before he slowly and gently took hold of the gun.
It was only five minutes later that two people who they didn't recognise left the Hogs Head. They walked towards Honeydukes before they noticed the way they held the door longer. Someone was using an invisibility cloak. The door remained opened for a few minutes. One hidden person stayed in the shop while another hidden person made their way back to the Hogs Head. That happened a lot over the next five minutes. Now every shop in Hogsmeade had two "customers"
'I saw Dumbledore's signal, he's ready,' Sirius said.
Harry and Sirius tensed when they watched Tonks looking like Harry and Remus leave Honeydukes. He/she moved cautiously and slowly towards the track that leads to the shrieking shack.
It happened quickly. Wards went up as Voldemort and his death eaters appeared near Harry. There were a dozen loud bangs as Harry and Sirius began shooting and Tonks as Harry along with Remus disappeared. Harry saw Voldemort drop along with his snake, then he saw Voldemort's wand fly out of his dead hand, seconds later there was a loud scream.
What they didn't expect was for Voldemort to disintegrate. As he slowly disappeared, the last few death eaters who hadn't been hit with bullets collapsed onto the ground.
'Let's go, Albus will take care of everything,' Sirius said as he pulled the cloak off the both of them.
Harry and Sirius quickly packed up their guns and slipped down through the trap door. They already knew to head up to room 3, that's what they did. They cleaned their guns before they took them apart and placed them into a bag that was charmed to prevent anyone finding out what was in the bag. Once they was done, they went back to Aberforth's flat and used the floo to Grimmauld place. Remus and Tonks were waiting for them.
'He appeared right beside me. I almost froze, luckily, Remus grabbed me,' Tonks said, 'He's so scary looking.'
'Yeah, he is Tonks. I'm glad your okay though. I wasn't keen on putting you in danger, playing me.'
'It made the most sense and since I wasn't trying to use a portkey to get out of Hogsmeade, I got to the Hogs Head straight away. So, what happened?'
'It went as planned, but there was something we weren't expecting. He disintegrated and all the death eaters that didn't get hit with bullet's, collapsed. We left straight away so we're not sure what happened.' Sirius explained.
'Albus will fill us in when he returns. It will be a while though so we might as well have some lunch,' Remus said.
'And a beer, I could do with one,' Harry said.
The four people sat in the kitchen, speculating. Even though it did no good, they couldn't help themselves. It was hours before Albus and Mad-eye appeared.
'It seems Tom connected himself to his death eaters using the dark mark. The moment he died, they died. I removed the…curse from the wand. It worked. I checked, he is finally dead,' Albus said.
Harry sagged in his seat. Sirius put his arm around his godson, 'It's over pup.'
'Yeah, it is. Now we just need you cleared and everything will be perfect.'
'I spoke with Rufus Scrimgeour. He has been made interim minister for magic. Between me, Kingsley and Amelia, we were able to convince him you were innocent. What did help though was Peter was found in his human form. He was dead but it proved you never killed him. It will be announced tomorrow that you are innocent and cleared of all charges. He has enough to deal with and he said you didn't really need a trial. He has to work on notifying the families of all those death eaters that died.'
Harry ended up hugging his godfather. He couldn't believe how happy he was. First, Voldemort and his death eaters were dead. Second, Sirius was finally free. It meant they could live together, as a family and in a new home.
Albus, Mad-eye, Sirius, Remus, Tonks and Harry talked for a bit longer. Albus explained that even though Severus was loyal to Albus, there was nothing Albus could do to save him. The dark mark was a death sentence so Severus died along with all the other death eaters. Not all of them would have been at Hogsmeade so they will need to find them unless someone tells the aurors that they found someone who had died.
It was known the following day that the real Harry Potter had not returned to Hogwarts. A person was impersonating Harry for the plan that were needed for Harry to finally finish Voldemort. Hermione and Ron kept asking where Harry was and when he would arrive at school. Both were shocked to hear that Harry wasn't returning to Hogwarts.
It was also known the following day that there had been a prophecy about Harry Potter and Voldemort. Harry fulfilled the prophecy by killing Voldemort and this time it was for good. He can never return again. So like when Harry became the-boy-who-lived, he was once again hailed a hero of the wizarding world.
Hermione was the first to realise that since she didn't write to Harry over the holidays, he had basically given up on their friendship, which would be one of the reasons he didn't want to return to Hogwarts. Ron just kept asking why, so Hermione told her what she believed. Ron knew Hermione was right. After he had called Harry a liar when his name came out of the goblet of fire, it took a lot for Harry to forgive him. Ron then didn't write to Harry during the holidays. Harry had told him and Hermione that the food they sent him kept him from almost starving to death. Neither of them argued with Dumbledore when he told them they couldn't write to Harry. Now Harry had basically left Hogwarts so they knew they wouldn't see him again. There was no reason to go to headquarters anymore so they wouldn't see him there.
Ginny was another one that was upset that Harry didn't return. She thought now would be the perfect time to show Harry she was a girl and not just Ron's little sister. For Hermione, Ron and Ginny, nothing was working out like they hoped. For Harry, everything was finally working out.
The moment Harry saw the front page of the Daily Prophet calling him their saviour, he worked on plans with Sirius to get away from England for a while. They decided to take an extended holiday, but Sirius would continue to teach Harry even while they were away. They did send messages to Albus and Remus to explain that both of them wanted to get away for a while. They would contact them when they returned.
Once Harry and Sirius left and began their holiday, Harry said he would rather not return until he was legally an adult. That is what they decided to do. They spent their time travelling but Harry never stopped learning. He had taken his newts six months early while he had been holidaying in Australia. He passed with all O's.
Time skip:
It was two years before Harry and Sirius returned to England. They decided for now, to continue to share Grimmauld place, until both could work on finding their own homes.
It only took a couple of days before it was known Harry had returned home with his godfather. But Harry also returned home with young woman with him. It was known by the following day that the beautiful blond woman was Harry Potter's fiance. Within days it was known that Sally-Anne was a muggleborn witch who had gone to Hogwarts for her first year, the same time as Harry began but left Hogwarts and left England after she finished her first year. She returned to England with her family but also her fiance. When she first bumped into Harry, he explained that Voldemort and all his death eaters were dead so it was safe if she wanted to return. Sally explained that she did but wouldn't mind getting to know Harry while she had a chance.
Within two weeks of meeting, Harry and Sally were dating. When Harry introduced his girlfriend to his godfather, the one thing Sirius thought straight away, she reminded him of Lily except she had blond hair, not red. Sally had studied charms after completing her newts and ended up becoming a charms master, or mistress. Another thing Sirius knew after meeting Sally, he saw just what type of body his godson liked. Sirius knew Ginny Weasley liked Harry. If he was right about body type, Harry would never look at a girl like Ginny who was very skinny with small boobs. Sally had a full figure without being fat and had very large boobs. Sirius wasn't sure if he was right or not, until he noticed how often his godson stared at Sally's chest.
The moment they arrived home, Sirius and Harry had worked on postal wards for the house. Apart from the occasional child of a death eater that died, who might send Harry cursed mail, there would be a lot of women who would not like the fact Harry Potter was taken. They decided it would be safer to add the wards so no cursed mail could harm anyone in the house but also they wanted to make sure that things like food or drink with love potions in it, would not be able to cross the ward boundary. They were expecting hate mail and even some curses so they decided to do what Mad-eye moody always said and be vigilant.
It was early the following morning that lots of mail began to arrive. Most of the letters were harmless. They were thanking Harry for finishing off Voldemort. Some were congratulating him on his engagement.
They were a bit surprised that there were three cursed letters and one box of chocolate's that was laced with a love potion. They expected the cursed letter, from the children of the death eaters that died.
Sirius took the letters straight to Madam Bones. What surprised both Sirius and Amelia was one of the letters was not from a child of a death eater that died. The first two were, so those two young men were about to be arrested. The sender of the other cursed letter addressed to Harry, it was from Ginny Weasley.
The Weasley family was shocked when the aurors stormed into the Burrow and arrested Ginny. She was instantly shackled before being taken to Azkaban, until her trial. Amelia had been there to explain to the Weasley family what Ginny did and what she believed would happen. Ginny might not get life but she would get twenty five years, minimum, as the curse that she sent was meant to kill Harry.
Molly wanted to beg Harry to see if he could get Ginny released. She realised she had no idea where he was but hoped old Errol would find him.
Molly sent her letter off straight away and only had to wait a couple of hours before she got a reply. She was shocked when she received a short reply, no, he would not help. That was all he wrote.
Hermione wrote next, begging Harry to help. He again wrote back no, she tried to kill him, she could rot in Azkaban for all he cared. He finally got a nice calm and danger free life and someone he thought he knew, tried to kill him. He hoped she was never released.
Sally arrived at Grimmauld place the morning of the court case and just stayed with Harry until it was time to leave.
'Any idea what will happen?' Sally asked.
'She'll do years in Azkaban but it will depend on what Amelia found out during this week and it will depend on her answers on how long she will get,' Sirius said.
'Ginny could lie easily and you can never tell. She learned from the twins,' Harry said.
'Because of the type of curse she sent, one that would kill, Amelia will make sure she uses veritaserum. Neither of you have to worry, she won't get off. We'll also find out if this was all her idea or if someone helped her. We need to go.'
Sirius went through the floo first. Tonks and Kingsley were waiting there. Sally was next then Harry. It was instant, people calling to Harry, saying sorry and saying thanks. All Harry could do was nod. He took Sally's hand then followed Kingsley, Tonks and Sirius stayed behind them.
Harry ignored all the looks he got from the Weasley's as he walked into the courtroom with his finance and Sirius. They took their seats ready for Ginny's trial to begin. Kingsley and Tonks stayed standing at the wall behind Sirius, Harry and Sally. There was a lot of talk while everyone waited for the Wizengamot to take their seats. Harry did hear many of the Weasley's asking him to drop the charges. He ignored them just as he ignored everyone else.
What shocked everyone, including the aurors, Ginny screamed at Harry the moment she was brought into the room. Before anyone knew what was going on, Ginny had a wand in her hand and she sent a spell at Sally, Harry blocked it before anyone could move. The spell rebounded onto Ginny, who fell dead to the floor. The aurors finally moved and took the wand as evidence.
'Right now I need answers. No one is in trouble. Mr Potter, can you explain what that spell was?' Albus asked.
'It's one I created to get my masters in defence. It will rebound any spell and I mean any spell back on the caster. I had it approved by the ICW six months ago.'
'You used the name Orion Evans.'
'I did.'
'Did you know what spell Miss Weasley aimed at you?'
'She was aiming at my fiance, but no, I have no idea what spell she cast. Going on how she died, I would say she cast the killing curse. I would like to ask a question, chief warlock.'
'Go ahead, I believe you earned the right.'
'How did a prisoner get hold of a wand?'
'That is what I am going to have the aurors investigate. You will be notified once we find out. I believe you, your fiance and Mr Black should leave before reporters find out what happened. Everyone else is to remain inside this courtroom.' Albus said.
Harry kept his arm around Sally but Tonks stayed in front while Sirius kept them in front of him as they left the courtroom. Many of the Weasley's were glaring at Harry. The moment they left, Albus locked down the courtroom.
'I got a look at the wand, it was Molly's,' Harry said the moment they got inside the house.
'Then she will end up in Azkaban. If any of the others cause trouble, they could as well. Amelia will explain it all to the Weasley's. Are you okay Sally?'
'Shocked, I knew if she could, she would try something but I figured we'd be safe being in a courtroom.'
'You should have been. Whichever auror brought her in should have searched her. Prisoners are held in the ministry holding cells until they face the Wizengamot. Anyone of the previous prisoners could have left something behind which could have been used as a weapon,' Sirius said, 'You two go relax, I'm staying down here to wait to hear what is going on. I'm sure Tonks will arrive here soon.'
The courtroom had been sealed after Harry, Sirius and sally left. The aurors used veritaserum on every person. Molly was the first questioned but they wanted to know if others knew that Ginny Weasley planned to kill Harry Potter's fiance.
Molly was sentenced to life in Azkaban for aiding her daughter in attempting to commit murder. She was taken straight to Azkaban. None of the other Weasley's knew anything about what Molly or Ginny planned.
Amelia did give the rest of them a warning. If anything happened to Harry, his fiance or Sirius, they would be the first the aurors look at. They might be innocent right now but their sister died and their mother would be going to Azkaban for life. She made sure to tell them that they will be watched from now on. Amelia did explain that she was planning to push for Ginny to get life in Azkaban for the curse she sent Harry. It would have killed him, but it would have taken it's time and he would have suffered for months before he died. Anyone that cruel didn't deserve to be out with decent people. Now she will be pushing for Molly to get life for aiding her daughter.
Once everyone else was questioned, the doors were opened and every person could leave.
Hermione might be upset that she lost Harry as a friend and she never believed that Ginny would try to kill Harry. But Hermione would never associate with anyone that planned to murder. When Ron and Bill went off about Harry, Hermione got up and left the courtroom. She was going to the Burrow to get her bag before returning home. She would no longer have anything to do with Ron or Bill. The others just seemed to accept what had happened even if she could tell they were shocked that Ginny and Molly would go that far.
Hermione wasn't the only person who was not going to have anything to do with Ron and Bill. Fleur Delacour, who had begun to date Bill decided he was not the type of person she wanted to be with, not if he was angry at Harry when Ginny was the one that tried to curse Harry then tried to kill his fiance. Fleur left the courtroom and decided to head back to France and her family.
Many of Harry's old friends all gave Ron and Bill a disgusted look before they left the courtroom. They all planned to send Harry and letter and hoped they could get together.
What no one who had left the courtroom knew was because the Wizengamot, the aurors and Amelia bones heard what Ron had been saying, he was sacked as an auror. He was only an auror trainee but he had begun to learn the law, yet he still supported his sister who wanted to commit murder.
Sirius looked up when he heard footsteps. He wasn't surprised to see Remus and Tonks.
'What happened?'
'Molly gave her the wand during her last visit. Auror Dawlish was sacked. He allowed Molly to hug her daughter which was when she slipped Ginny the wand. He even left them alone in her cell and he never searched her before bringing her into the courtroom,' Tonks said.
'Amelia is going to push for life in Azkaban for Molly. Only Ron and Bill were angry at what happened and at Harry. The other Weasley's were upset, not angry and they didn't look at Harry as if it was his fault,' Remus said.
'Amelia gave them a warning though, they will be watched. Ron was also sacked since an auror has to follow the law and he was supporting his sister, who was going to commit murder,' Tonks said, 'I always knew he wouldn't make it anyway, he was just too lazy and he also couldn't control his temper. Amelia said just be careful when you're out.'
'We plan to. We're going to begin looking for our own homes from tomorrow. Harry and Sally talked, they are going to look around Godric's hollow. I'm thinking of there as well as I did spend a lot of time there and loved the town.'
'Amelia did ask about that spell and wondered if Harry would teach her and Tim, then Tim can teach all of us,' Tonks said.
'I will but after she makes sure there aren't anyone dark or people like that auror who brought Ginny into the courtroom,' Harry said as he entered the kitchen, 'Sally's just gone to let her parents know what happened before she returns. So was it Molly?'
'It was, but how did you know?' Remus asked.
'I recognised Molly's wand. Before the quidditch world cup, the twins switched her wand with one of their joke wands and it turned into a rubber chicken. I remember because once she got it back, she was pointing it at the twins and I was very close to them. I heard Ron and Bill, were any of the others blaming me?'
'No, only Bill and Ron, Ron was sacked though. I already knew he wouldn't make it through. Hermione left and by the look she gave Ron, she will not be seeing him anymore.'
'I never believed they would stay together anyway so it's best to end it now before they get married.'
'Fleur also left because Bill was saying things like Ron was, how it was Harry's fault,' Tonks said.
'She probably returned to France. Will the aurors be keeping an eye on those two?' Sirius asked.
'Yes, they will be constantly watched and Amelia spoke with Arthur, Charlie and the twins. She's hoping their father can get them to accept the truth, that it was all Ginny's fault along with Molly.'
'If he can get through to them, it will be Bill that will eventually calm down and realise the truth. Ron never will. Even after he said someone entered me in the tournament to kill me, there were times when I knew he still believed I entered. The truth could be staring right in his face and he wouldn't believe it. Even though I thought it would be safe in the courtroom, I wasn't surprised that Ginny would try something, or at least say something, not after the curse she sent. I never had much to do with her but I'd seen how much like her mother she was.'
'She might have been young but she was old enough to know right from wrong. She just wanted you for herself Harry and couldn't handle the fact you were with someone else,' Remus said, 'I used to see her staring at you all the time when I taught in your third year. She was only twelve then yet everyone could see she was obsessed with you.'
'The twins told me her mother used to tell her stories about the-boy-who-lived from the time she was little. I wouldn't put it passed Molly to make Ginny believe we would end up together. It wasn't until Sirius and I left for our holiday before I realised my meeting with the Weasley's was set up. I believe Molly wanted to make sure I ended up close to her family. I also believe it was Molly that pushed Ron to make up with me after the first task.'
'You can forget about them now and just keep an eye out for Ron and Bill,' Sirius said.
'So you also got laced chocolate's, who sent them?' Remus asked.
'Romilda Vane, a Gryffindor a year under me. I never spoke to the girl and only ever saw her in the common room. I couldn't even tell you what she looks like. I only spoke with Hermione, Ron, Neville, the twins, Lee, Oliver and the girls from the quidditch team. I really didn't take any notice of anyone else.'
'You know, after the-boy-who-lived and now the saviour, I would have thought you might have received lots of love potions,' Tonks said with a smirk making Harry glare. Sirius and Remus chuckled at the look Harry gave Tonks.'
'It wouldn't matter if I did,' Harry held up his right hand that help a ring with a griffin on it, 'I worked on a rune to detect things like love potions and poisons.'
'Harry knew that some of the children of death eaters could try to poison him so he worked on that right after he did his newts. If there is a poison or love potion within ten feet of Harry, the ring will heat up and glow. We never got to test it on the curses as it was picking up the love potion.'
'At least your safe from that type of mail. It's time to move on with your life, one with your soon to be wife,' Remus said.
'Yes, it's time we begin to make our wedding plans,' Sally said as she stepped into the kitchen.
'I believe you are right love. How about you and I go and begin those plans,' Harry raised his eyebrows making Sally giggle before the two of them raced out of the kitchen and up the stairs, to laughter from Sirius, Remus and Tonks. Those three knew Harry and Sally would not be working on wedding plans. They also knew they probably wouldn't see them until at least dinner time.
The three friends decided to just relax themselves. So even though there had been danger earlier that day, their world was safe, it was time they all began on their new lives, one without Voldemort and his death eaters.
The end:
