The Lena River, Russia, Earth
Next to the Lena River, just south of the Arctic Circle, a bush materialised. Out came a brown-skinned man with a big beard, adjusting his spot as if he just changed into it, which he had, for he recently failed to conquer the universe by disguising himself as a Cyberman. He was the Master. "Right," he said to himself, "Cyberking plan failed. Good thing I'll be resting here for a little while. I really need a good plan to be rid of the Doctor once and for all."
"I can help with that." A grim old voice went. The Master turned around to see a man dressed in all black with a staff made out of obsidian. "It's an honour to meet you, Koschei."
The Master took out his Laser Screwdriver. "I don't know who you are, and you have no right to call me that."
"I know you prefer to be called "The Master," and what are you a master of? Nothing." The Master fired the Laser Screwdriver, hitting the man who ignored it. "That trinket won't hurt me."
"But... How did you..."
"Take the hit? I am the Black Guardian, one part of the Six-Fold God and embodiment of darkness."
"Really?"
"Yes, and as much as I would like to keep mocking you, I request your help. It has something to do with the Doctor."
The Master began to smile. "You hate her too?"
The Black Guardian was visibly confused. "Her? Is the Doctor a woman now?"
"Not for the first time, but still as annoying. Then again, I once regenerated into a woman as well."
"Your species is weird."
"Let's stop bickering and get to the point."
"Right. My brother has gotten to her again. I can send that they're trying to imprison me for good. I cannot do much at the moment because I'm too weak. I need you to get something for me. Something that would make me stronger."
"And that would be?"
"The Hand of Tecteun."
"The Hand of Tecteun?" Jessica said, standing beside the console of the TARDIS alongside the Doctor and the White Guardian, "What is that?"
"A powerful machine." The Doctor replied. "Tecteun was one of the founders of Time Lord society, taking the blood of a being from a parallel dimension and creating regeneration. It was perfected and integrated into the Untempered Schism, transferring the ability to those who started at it: the first step of becoming a Time Lord. Tecteun died when she disintegrated, but long before then, she made a small machine that allowed for anyone to have the powers of a Time Lord, regeneration included. I stopped some creatures from getting it when I was rescuing Khaldun's family."
"I know where it will be the most convenient for the both of you to get it." the White Guardian continued, "Seattle, 1994. The Hand of Tecteun is about to be displayed in the Museum of History and Industry as a Byzantine artifact. You'll need to steal it and give it to me. I'll work on a device using it so that it can trap the Black Guardian."
"Stealing a priceless artifact that's also capable of making multiple Doctors. Neat."
"Oh, one more thing. You should change your look. You both are not suitably dressed for the era you're going to."
The Doctor looked at the White Guardian and smiled. "You know."

Seattle, The United States of America, Earth
The TARDIS materialised beside the legendary Slave Needle, part of the skyline of Seattle. The Doctor and Jessica got out, dressed in less formal wear and donning a fair amount of makeup. "I don't know whether I suit these jeans or not." Jessica said, "Why are we dressed up like this again?"
"We're in the era of Grunge, Jessica." the Doctor replied, "We need to be appropriately dressed for it."
"The way we dressed didn't matter before."
"But it matters now because we're stealing something. We need to remain inconspicuous in order to pull it off. We landed at midnight, and we still have twenty-three hours left. Fasaeidan."
Jessica would follow the Doctor on the twenty-minute trip to the area right outside of the museum itself. Jessica noticed that someone else was there. "Doctor, it seems like someone else has gotten to the museum first."
The Doctor recognised who it was: the Master. "So it seems." The Doctor walked over to him. "Well, this museum looks nice on the outside."
"I agree, but that's not why we're here." the Master replied, "You and I want something from there."
"The Hand of Tecteun." They both said simultaneously.
"Ooh, great minds think alike, Doctor."
"I know we're here for the same thing, but the reasons are different. I'm getting it to help the White Guardian imprison someone, and you're here to give it to that someone. Am I right?"
"He told me it was to make him stronger."
"It will, and then he will kill everyone in the entire universe, including you, then create a new universe where only chaos reigns."
"Which is why I'm actually going to give him this." The Master pulled out something from one of his coat pockets, looking like a bronze hand inscribed with Old Gallifreyan. "Here it is."
"A perfect copy of the Hand of Tecteun."
"Because nobody gets to kill you except for me."
"It's almost like you cared there."
Jessica caught up. "Doctor, there's a strange woman that's been following us since we came out of the TARDIS. Blonde, shaggy, dressing like some sort of ruined doll..."
The Doctor saw the woman in question coming towards them. "And I know who she is."
The woman stumbled towards the trio. "Hey," she said, "are you the lady who came out of that box that appeared out of thin air?"
"Yes." The Doctor turned to Jessica and the Master. "Jessica, Master," The Doctor motioned her arm as to present the woman. "meet Courtney Love."
