I hope everyone enjoyed chapter 1, now this is Chapter 2;first encounter.

Has anyone guessed who Kairi's other bio father is yet?

Kairi opened her eyes, her cheek was cold and her head hurt quite a bit.

But that didn't stop her from sitting up, it took her a few minutes to remember what had happened. She remembered Lupin's betrayal, meeting Tanjiro, finding his family slaughtered, his sister barely surviving and the man with the sword.

"Tanjiro-kun?" she asked as she noticed him waking up but she noticed how Nezuko had a bamboo stick in her mouth, as if it were a muzzle.

Suddenly they heard footsteps in the snow, both of them turned and glared at the man with the sword.

"You're both awake?"

Kairi wondered why or how the man was curious about her hair, even when he mentioned her father. Like did this man know him?

Possibly.

"Go and see an old man named Sakonji Urokodaki who lives at the foot of mount sagiri." the man informed them both, "Tell him that Tomioka sent you."

At least she knew this man's name now. Tomioka.

"Your sister should be fine because the sun isn't out today…but don't let her into direct sunlight."

Kairi could tell he was ready to leave, but she needed some answers of her own, not demon related, but her father related.

"Wait…."

Tomioka looked at her with that dead-pane face, so she took a deep breath in to ask her question.

After all, it was now or never.

"Do….you know my chichioya?" she couldn't help but ask..

Tomioka stared at her for several minutes, as if he was deciding to answer or not to give what she wanted.

"Maybe."

"That ain't an answer, Tomioka-san." she said, sounding a little put off.

"I'm sure you'll find out soon enough." Tomioka said to her, "But this is something you need to figure out for yourself. Don't die and look after yourself!"

Then just like that, Tomioka left or disappeared. It was hard to tell how fast he moved like he was never there.

Kairi hated riddles, they suck. She turned to Tanjiro to see him getting up and she followed him, trying to figure out what Tomioka meant by what he said.

Figure what out?

But soon enough, she and Tanjiro were asking some farmers for a basket.

"I beg your pardon, but may I take that basket?" Tanjiro asked the farmers. "And a little straw?"

The farmers turned to look at the two young teens that were standing in front of them.

"We don't mind…but the basket has a hole in it."

"That's all right." Tanjiro said to him. "Can I pay you?"

"No need. It's a broken basket." said the farmer.

Kairi had to smile in amusement as she witnessed the little argument, Tanjiro was really pure.

Unlike herself who had a dark past and was messed up in the head. Her bio dad-mom, Chris, along with Owen, Four and her other family has tried to convince her in the past that she wasn't messed up, she had only been through and has seen too much in her young life.

But she still doesn't believe it.

She jumped as Tanjiro smacked the money into the farmer's hand and they ran with the basket and straw.

The two of them ran back to the cave where Nezuko was resting in. But when they got there, they found her gone. But Kairi could see a hole in the cave.

"She's gone."

"No she isn't." Kairi said.

Then Nezuko popped her head out of the hole, looking very adorable like a small child with those big pink eyes.

She must've dug that hole to get away from the sun. Kairi thought to herself. She must really hate the sun.

Kairi then helped Tanjiro to cover all the holes that were in the basket. If there was anything she liked to do, was be creative so she liked to write, draw and anything else that were creative.

They took the basket into the cave and put it down so Nezuko could go into it.

"Will you fit in here?" Tanjiro asked her, pointing to the basket. "I want us to travel during the day. I'll carry you."

Nezuko only stared at them with a bit of fear and confusion, then Tanjiro started talking to her like you would talk to a puppy.

IT was pretty amusing.

Kairi watched as Nezuko crawled out of her hole and into the basket but she didn't fit, she was far too big.

Now what?

"You're too big." Tanjiro said.

'Yeah, no kidding, genius.' kairi thought amusedly to herself.

"Neuko, you're big as an adult….reserve that and get smaller?" Tanjiro asked her.

Well ... .Nezuko did grow when she attacked them, and became bigger than she should be. Maybe she can shrink to the size of a child or a toddler?

"Smaller, Nezuko. Get smaller!" Tajiro said to his sister.

All of a sudden, Nezuko started to wiggle and the basket toppled over and her feet were in the air and the two teens watched in bewilderment as Nezuko shrinked small as a young child. She looked at them in adoration like a small child would do with their parents.

"Oh, good!" exclaimed Tanjiro, "That's perfect! Good girl, Nezuko! I'm impressed."

Kairi couldn't believe it, Nezuko was definitely eating up his praise like a small child would.

She looked at Kairi with the most adorable pink eyes she has ever seen in her life, so she patted her head too.

By the time they got to the edge of town, near the mountain they're going to travel up to get to this man's house that was somewhere on the mountain, a woman stopped them with concern and worry on her face.

"To get to mount Sagiri you first must have to cross that mountain." the woman said, "The sun will set soon and you're going to carry that huge load? It's dangerous."

"We'll be plenty careful." Tanjiro said as he bowed his thanks. "Arigato gozaimasu."

"People really do disappear up there..so don't get lost!" the woman called out to them as Kairi and Tanjiro waved back at them as they went up the mountain.

Before Kairi knew it, it was nightfall pretty quickly for her liking. They arrived at some kind of temple, and for some odd reason there were chills on her back and she could sense something was horribly wrong. So she stopped walking.

"There's a way station. There's a light on, someone must be there." Tanjiro said, " let's go."

Kairi hesitantly followed them, not liking what she was sensing. But she followed with a dazed look on her face, the dazey face that showed no emotion.

But then Tanjiro stopped walking, "I smell blood!"

They ran up the steps and slided the door open, "Are you all right?" Tanjiro asked.

Kairi's eyes widened, the travelers were all killed, there was blood on the walls and there was a demon feasting on the travelers. He had wide eyes, blood was on his face and his skin was pale, he had markings on his body and brown hair.

"This…is my territory! Get away from my feeding ground!" the demon snarled at him.

The demon looked at the three of them, his eyes lingered between Nezuko and Kairi.

"Are you three human?"

Then Tanjiro sprung at the demon and kicked it and it ended up in the air with a look of surprise on its face and Tanjiro swung his hatchet at the demon's neck. But it was still standing on its feet once more and smiled mischievous.

"A-a hatchet?! Not bad." the demon crackled.

Kairi knew it would attack them after that. So Kairi got her hunting knife out, and the demon looked at its sharp silver blade.

"A hunting blade? Not bad, girl." it laughed.

Kairi glared at it, the demon snarled at her. "You gotta be kidding me! That fire around you….it's powerful even though it's a bit wild."

Fire? She looked down at her hands not to see any kind of fire. Perhaps it was talking about her aura?

Suddenly it trackled Tanjiro down to the ground, his hand grabbing Tanjiro's blue scarf. Kairi couldn't believe how fast this demon was, not even Lucifer was this fast.

"You'll never do that again!" the demon said to him. "I'm gonna snap your neck!"

Kairi then went into action, brought her blade down to the demon but the dumb motherfucker caught her hand and made her drop her lucky knife by tightening his grip to the point she actually thought he was going to snap or break her wrist.

"Then I'm gonna have my way with you! You're too pretty to kill straight away."

Kairi felt tears coming to her eyes as she felt the old emotions of fear from her time when she had stayed with Billy, it had been one of his favorite hobby to break her wrists, it's just a miracle that she doesn't have any problems with her wrists or ankles from the amount of times he broken her bones just for a sick hobby.

Suddenly the demon's head went flying off, Kairi and Tanjiro saw Nezuko with her foot in the air.

She had kicked his head right off! Nezuko had killed that demon!

Suddenly the demon's body got up but Nezuko just kicked it hard away from them.

'I can't believe it. She just kicked its head off and it still got back up and without its head?' she thought to herself.

Kairi closed her eyes, trying to fight off the dizziness that was in her head. Suddenly a voice spoke up, an angry one.

"Why you…..!" shouted out the demon's head, "What are a demon and a human doing together!? I knew it! One of you is a demon!"

Kairi just stared at it in shock as it kept ranting angrily at them, what kind of demons are these? It shouldn't be possible that the demon is moving and talking with its head and body separated.

She has never dealt with something like this before. It was basically foreign to her.

Suddenly the demon's body tried to tackle Nezukoo, so Tanjiro grabbed his hatchet and KAiri grabbed her knife, "STOP!"

Kairi then sensed something was off, if the body could move….did it mean that the head could move too? So she looked at it in shock as it bit onto Tanjiro's hatchet. It had grown arms where its ears should be!

Like what in the actual hell is going on?

"GET OFF OF ME!" Tanjiro shouted out and then head-butted the demon in the head. Kairi could've sworn someone's head just broke or at least someone is going to have a nasty bruise.

Tanjiro did it again, again and again. Eventually he threw the hatchet and the demon into a tree. KAiri saw the demon's hair was wrapped up around the hatchet, so it won't be moving any time soon.

Kairi turned around and they went to look for Nezuko. They found her being beaten up by the demon, Tanjiro tackled it right over the cliff.

"TANJIRO!" Kairi shouted out, she ran to try and get to him but luckily Nezuko brought Tanjiro back up from the cliff as the body met the ground with a splat.

She panted hard as she fell down to her knees, she couldn't get oxygen into her lungs, it felt like she was suffocating and it sucked.

"Kairi obaa-san!"

Who was that?

"Kairi obaa-san! You need to breathe! Follow my breathing."

Suddenly her hand was against someone's chest, so she followed his breathing pattern and she was calmer and had oxygen in her lungs. She looked at Tanjiro, who gave her his kind smile.

"Are you all right now?" he asked her.

Kairi nodded, not trusting her voice. Tanjiro helped her up to her feet, and they went to check on the head to see that it was out.

But…..is it even dead?

But there are other questions that were running around in Kairi's mind..

How many demons were there? Is this the demon that slaughtered Tanjiro's family? What did it mean about the fire around her? Where did these kind of demons come from? How do you even kill them?

These are the questions that were running in her mind. She looked at Tanjiro to see him bringing out a small blade so she took out her hunting knife.

But…she kinda felt bad for the demon. Had it been turned by force? Or did it volunteer to be a demon?

Suddenly she felt a rough hand on her shoulder and it took all her willpower not to flinch and to look the person in the eye…..
