Chapter Mittsu

I don't own Pokemon, but I do have Pokemon cards! That does not count in copyright though.

Ash was happy as he padded along the ground in the Viridian forest with his two new friends. Two new friends! he thought excitedly. Plus, who would have thought that he would meet another human- disguised Pokemon? Especially one that was not a Zorua? He looked over at said Pokemon named Misty, who was grumbling something about Beedrill as they continued to Pikachu, Ash asked, "What new friend do you think we will meet here?"

"Well, as I came from here, I know quite a few of the Pokemon species. We could meet a Rattata, or a Weedle, or..."Pikachu was interrupted by a Caterpie coming out of a large leafy bush next to a tree. "a Caterpie."

"Hmph, bugs. At least it's not a Beedrill." muttered the Eevee.

"What's wrong with bugs?" the fox asked, turning to look at her and tilting his head. "It's not like you have a type disadvantage from them."

"Just...never mind." replied Misty. Unsure what was wrong with her, Ash turned back the Caterpie.

"Hello!" Ash called out to the bug Pokemon as he swished his fluffy tail.

"Um, hello." said the Caterpie nervously. "I...I though you where trainers. I'm looking for one."

"Are you lost?" asked Pikachu.

"No, it just that...I'm not very strong." said the Caterpie. "And I heard that trainers can help make you strong."

A smile had grown on Ash's face when he heard that. He glanced at Pikachu, who was also smiling, then turned to back to the Caterpie.

"Would you like a trainer that can understand you?" asked Ash.

"Oh yes! Then they will know not to keep me in one of those Pokeballs all the time." said the Caterpie, his eyes wide with joy.

"Well, then you came out of the bushes at the right time" said Ash, closing his eyes and puffing out his chest "Because I am one!"

"You're a what?" asked the Caterpie, confused.

"I'm a trainer!" said Ash.

"But, you are a Pokemon!"

"That's right, I"m a Zorua, from Unova!" said Ash, "And Pikachu here is my starter. I'm going on a Pokemon journey to prove that we can." Caterpie's eyes widened even more.

"Wow, you are so cool!" he said in awe. Then more sheepishly, he added "Can...can I come with you? I mean, if you will have me."

"Of course you can!" Ash responded. Flicked off his pack, he fished through his bag and pulled out a small Pokeball in his mouth and placed it on the grass. Hitting the button with his cute little nose, the Pokeball grew to normal size. "You ready for this?" asked Ash as he turned back to Caterpie.

"I, think I am." replied the Caterpie. "As long as you are nice."

"I'm very nice!" said Ash.

"You know, that is exactly what a mean mon would say." snickered Pikachu.

"Ha ha." Ash flicked his fuzzy tail at Pikachu and whacked the yellow rodent in the mouth, causing him to sputter.

"Bleck, not you too!" he complained as he spat our a piece of fur. "You know, you and Misty are not the only ones with a fluffy tail" Pikachu said mischievously as he flipped around and shoved his fuzzy lightning bolt tail into Ash's muzzle.

"Mmph!" Ash tried to move away, but then Pikachu tackled the young for, knocking him to the ground. The two started rolling on the path as the laughed and giggled.

"Ugh, just get the Caterpie already." complained Misty.

"Oh, come on Misty, have some fun." said Pikachu.

"Sorry...it's just Viridian Forrest has...never mind." muttered Misty.

"Has what?" asked Ash.

"I SAID NEVERMIND! Just...hurry up and catch the Caterpie so we can get to Pewter City." growled Misty, her tail lashing back and forth.

"I'll never understand girls." Ash said to Pikachu.

"What does this have to do with girls?" asked Pikachu as Ash motioned Caterpie to come over.

"Huh? Oh, Caterpie. Just touch the button and it will be official."

"Ok...please let me out as soon as you catch me." said the bug Pokemon. Ash watched as he touched the button with his head. The ball the split apart, and Caterpie was caught.

"I did it!" yelled Ash as he applied his illusion and gave a "V" symbol with right hand.

"What are you doing?" asked Misty.

"My victory pose." replied Ash as he got rid of his illusion. "I saw a pic of some leader of the Galar region do it, and I thought it looked cool."

"I like it!" said Pikachu as Ash pressed the button on ball, causing the bug to come out.

"That was not too bad." Caterpie said as he shook his head.

"What? You like it?" asked Pikachu, surprised.

"Yah. Do, do hate them?" asked Caterpie.

"Those things are of Giratina." spat Pikachu.

"I have to agree with Pikachu," said Misty, "I would never go in them."

"Yes!" exclaimed Pikachu as the rushed over to the Eevee. "Another Pokemon to join by fight against Pokeballs."

"You all act like their torture devices." laughed Ash.

"So Caterpie, what moves do you know?" Ash asked as the four Pokemon ate lunch. Being Pokemon, it was easy to scavenge for food, and soon they had come across an Oran berry bush.

"Um, just string shot and tackle." replied Caterpie. "I know, not very impressive"

"Don't worry, I can teach you many moves. Like..." the Zorua crunch his nose "Um, what do Caterpie learn?"

"Try Dexter, see what he says." suggested Pikachu as he took a big bite of a juicy berry. "Dang, this is a good one."

"Good idea." Ash unbuckled his pack, and grabbed out Dexter. He then pointed it at Caterpie, and asekd "Hey, Dexter, what moves can Caterpie learn?"

"Caterpie, the Worm Pokemon. Caterpie can learn String Shot, String Shot, and Bug Bite." intoned the Pokedex.

"...and?" asked the Zorua.

"It can also learn the TM move Electroweb."

"I...I can only learn four moves?" asked Caterpie in shock. "Hmmmmmm, no one mom and dad pushed my siblings to evolve."

"Well, we will make them the four best mov..." "CAWWWWWWW"

Ash looked up at to see was interrupted him as a Pidgeotto cam swooping down from the sky and landing infront of them.

"Hey, that is my Oran berry bush!" said the female bird Pokemon.

""Humph, sure it is." grumbled Misty.

"It is! Now you will have to fight me!" said Pidgeotto. "I'm strong." Ash smirked, and looked at Pikachu.

"Pikachu?" he asked.

"Piece of cake" replied the electric rodent as he sent out a jolt of electricity. It struck the flying type, and immediately knocked it out.

"Wow, you are strong, Pikachu!" exclaimed Caterpie as Ash walked over to the fried bird and placed an Oran berry next her beak. He then licked said beak to wake her up.

"Mmph, what..." said Pidgeotto. She then noticed the Oran berry, and took a bite. "Um, thanks."

"Don't mention it!" said Ash happily. "It is from your bush." At that, he noticed Pidgeotto look away sheepishly.

"Um, it's really not. I just wanted to fight you." she replied.

"How come?" asked Ash.

"Too get stronger. Pidgey aren't know as the strongest Pokemon, and I wanted be stronger. So I evolved early, even when my parents said it was too early, you know?" asked the Pidgey.

"I do." replied Ash. Evolved Pokemon were generally stronger, but evolving, especially at a young age, did not immediately make you stronger. "As my meema said, you have to work for it."

"Yeah, I didn't listen. So know I"m trying to train more. The berry bush was just an excuse for a battle, which I failed at." sighed Pidgeotto as she closed her eyes again.

"He, don' be sad. I can help!" said Ash. Pidgeotto opened her eyes again.

"How?"

"I'm a trainer!" replied Ash.

"Ha, ha, very funny."

"I'm serious! I'm a trainer, so is the Eevee." said Ash, pointing toward Misty with his black and red tail.

"You are a funny...what Pokemon are you?"

"I'm a Zorua! We are from Unova, and we can do illusions." Stepping back, Ash then applied his illusion, and watched as Pidgeotto's eyes widened.

"What to...your human?" she asked, shocked.

"Nope, it's just an illusion. I'm going out to show humans that Pokemon can do anything they can do!" said Ash. "Would you like to come with us?"

"Um, sure, I guess. Trainers do help Pokemon get stronger." said the Pidgeotto. Ash smiled as he walked back to his bag, and grabbed out a Pokeball. He returned to the bird Pokemon and placed the ball in front of Pidgeotto. The bird stood up and touched the button with her beak. The ball then opened and she was captured.

"I did it!" said Ash as he gave his victory pose again.

"Prepare for trouble!"

"And make it double!"

"Wait, them again?" asked Pikachu as he bounded over to Ash.

"Hey, are you following us?" asked Ash as he turned his illusion around to see the same Team Rocket who had attacked the Pokemon Center.

"Do NOT interrupt the motto!" yelled Jessie angrily as she waved her fist.

"Yes, we work hard on it!" complained James.

"Even though I don't say much." grumbled Meowth.

"Oh yeah, that Meowth can speak human." said Misty.

"But can't you speak human too?" asked Caterpie.

"Whose can speak human?" asked Meowth.

"Me." Ash deadpanned "Because I am human" "Well, that doesn't sound suspicions at all" he though when he realized what he said.

"How do you do, fellow humans?" quipped Pikachu, who then started laughing and rolling on his back. Ash could not help but join in.

"Why youse laughing like you understood him?" asked Meowth as he pointed to Pikachu.

"Um, I just like laughing with my Pokemon." said Ash. Meowth narrowed his feline eyes at him.

"Forget whatever this is!" said Jessie. "We are here for that Pikachu, that Eevee, and the black Pokemon. They are super powerful!"

"Black Pokemon? Great, they want all of us."

"Shut up! Don't tell them what we are here for!" yelled Meowth as he scratched Jessie on the face.

"Ouch, get off me!" Jessie screamed as Meowth dropped to the ground.

"Stupid humans. I'm the top cat here" muttered Meowth

"Koffing, go!" yelled James. Koffings Pokeball left his and and hit the ground.

"Koffing want revenge!" said the purple floating ball when it appeared.

"Ekans, go!" yelled Jessie. The purple snake appeared from it's ball and looked straight at Ash.

"You! You're the punk kid who insulted my mother!" said Ekans as he hissed.

"Koffing, use sludge attack on Pikachu!" yelled James. Koffing shot said sludge and hit Pikachu in his eyes.

"AUGH! I CAN"T SEE!" yelled Pikachu.

"That's not fair!" yelled Ash as he rushed over to help Pikachu.

"So what, we are the bad guys!" said James. The purple headed man laughed gleefully.

"Ekans, go for that weak Caterpie next!" said Jessie as she pointed at Caterpie. Ekans dove for green Pokemon.

"Caterpie!" "What can he do? Think, Ash, think. String shot...wait, I know!" "Caterpie, used stringshot right at Ekans head and use a lot!"

"Um, OK." replied Caterpie. He then faced Ekans and fired string shot.

"Mwaha ha!" laughed Jessie "Everyone know String Shot does no damage!"

"Um, Jessie, you might want to have another look." said James. Ash watched as the head of Ekans was completely encased in string, unable to see. All the could be heard was muffled screams as Ekans thrashed back and forth.

"Yes!" exclaimed Ash "Right back at you!"

"Koffing, use sludge again on that Caterpie!" yelled James

"Oh, no you don't!" said Misty as she bounded from her spot fast over the grass and dirt. She then lept in the air and slammed into Koffing with Quick Attack. The Pokemon fell to the ground, knocked out.

"Hmph, looks like its up tah me!" said Meowth as he unsheathed his claws and ran toward Caterpie. "Furry Swipes!"

"Sting shot again." said Ash. Caterpie fired off a barrage of sting at the Cat Scratch Pokemon, which hit him right in the chest and stopped him in his tracks. Meowth tried to claw his way out of the String Shot, but Caterpie turned and aimed at his string at Meowth paws, encasing them quickly. Soon Meowth was entirely mummified in place.

"MMMPH, GRRRRRR!" Meowth tried to say though the string.

"I guess, Team Rocket, you can now say you have a 'Meowmy!" said Ash with a chuckle.

"Ash, that's terrible an you should be ashamed of your self." grumbled Misty.

"Grrrrrr, this isn't over." said Jessie as she and James called back Koffing and Ekans. The two then grabbed the encased Meowth and ran away down the forest path.

"Good riddance!" said Misty triumphantly.

"Um, thank you for helping me, Misty." said Caterpie as he walked over to her. Misty turned to look at Caterpie, and visibly recoiled as he got near. Caterpie noticed, and stopped.

"Oh...sorry..." Caterpie replied dejectedly as he cast his head down.

"It...uh...you're welcome." Misty looked to Ash like she wanted to be somewhere else.

"Misty, something wrong?" asked Ash as he walked over and picked up Caterpie.

"I said I don't want to talk about it!" yelled Misty.

"Weird. Anyways, great job Caterpie." Ash hugged the bug Pokemon.

"Thank you Ash. Oh, is it happening?" asked Caterpied.

"What's..." Ash looked down to see the Caterpie in his arms start to glow a white color. Caterpie's shape began to change as well, and Ash watched in awe as ca cocoon with eyes was in Caterpies place.

"Wow! Cat...I mean, Metapod, you evolved! And so fast too!" Ash gleefully raised Metapod into the and laughed.

"Yes, well done!" said Pidgeotto.

"Thanks everyone! Though...I can't move now." said Caterpie. "Now I know why Mom and Dad said to evolve to Butterfree quickly."

"I can help with that." said Ash. "Now, lets get a photo of you! After we finish lunch, of course."

"Oh Ash."

later that night

Ashesredpaws77: Anyone up?

Toorich99: I am. Made it to Viridian. Unfortunately the Pokemon Center is close so I had to find a motel. A big whole in the ceiling. Weird.

Ashesredpaws77: Yeah, weird

Abluepaws: Me too!

Dragonpaws: It's morning for me

Ashesredpaws77: Great! Cause I have news to tell you

Abluepaws: Oh, what is it?

Ashesredpaws77: I got two new Pokemon! A Caterpie and a Pidgeotto!

Toorich99: You did? Sweet!

Dragonpaws: I don't believe it

Ashesredpaws77: What's so unbelievable about that?

Dragonpaws: because you are Ash

Ashesredpaws77: Who beat you in that battle right before I left for Kanto

Dragonpaws: I was distracted!

Dragonpaws: At least I did not try to see if eating a Thunderstone would evolve me into "Electorark"

Ashesredpaws77: I was a kit!

Dragonpaws: You're still a kit.

WaterEevee57: I can't believe to did that Ash.

Ashesredpaws77: You just had to come one now.

WaterEevee57: yes, from my dad. He was a Zoroark, as where his parents.

Dragonpaws: I talked to the Elders. They checked the books, and there have been a few instances of that happening. It is very rare, though
