Chapter 2 - Courage.
About six months have passed since the end of the war. It was morning, and right now Gaang was having breakfast. They were in the palace of the Fire Nation. It was the first morning that Zuko and Aang could both attend breakfast together. Most often this week, they would get up at dawn and go to a sparring session, then change their clothes and go to meetings with the generals to solve some problems in the country. They finished around late afternoon, so Aang and Katara didn't have too much time. So, they were going to make full use of the morning for themselves. Aang also decided to try Zuko's advice.
- Good morning, Sweetheart, - the airbender said as he sat down at the table, and before she could respond, he captured her lips in a passionate kiss, wrapping his arms around her waist.
Sokka started to get indignant, Toph opened her mouth in shock, Suki and Zuko smiled and sat down, and Mai ... just Mai (although if you look closely, she smiled very weakly), but the Avatar didn't pay attention to it. He ran his tongue along Katara's lower lip, asking permission to enter. She was, to put it mildly, very surprised, so she did not immediately react, but after a while her arms wrapped around her lover's neck and she obediently opened her mouth, after which the boy's tongue penetrated her mouth, exploring her cave. An involuntary moan escaped her throat. She would have blushed and confused because all their friends were here, but it was Aang's bold side that turned her on, so she couldn't focus on anything but their tongues and lips.
After a while, they pulled away from each other. Katara was still in a bit of shock, so Aang stroked her cheek to calm her down. Sokka was still complaining in the background that he had no desire to watch them suck each other's faces, and anyway, he should take his hands off his little sister..
- Wow... - The waterbender said softly when she came to her senses. – Good morning, Honey...
- Good morning, Sweetheart, - Aang repeated, chuckling. - How did you sleep?
- Fine, - Katara replied.
- I missed you last night, - the Avatar confessed, stroking her hand and looking at her with innocent eyes.
Katara blushed madly, not knowing what to make of this statement. With that, Sokka exploded in shock, Toph fell off her chair, laughing out loud, and Suki couldn't help but chuckle too. Zuko laughed too, but also held up a finger. Even May's smile deepened.
- I missed you too, - the blue-eyed girl finally decided to answer, smiling.
- All stop! - Sokka exclaimed. – Aang, I'm not sure what's wrong with you, but that's enough! Get a room! - After a moment, realizing that this was more of a suggestion than a reprimand, he added: - No, don't you dare rent a room! But leave your games!
- Okay, Sokka, - Aang nodded, and then started eating his breakfast as if nothing had happened.
- Well, Twinkletoes, you definitely made me feel better for the day, - Toph said, returning to a sitting position to eat. – I do not know what is wrong with you, but you are acting like a earthbender! Bold, bold and direct! Keep it up!
After that, everything returned to normal, Gaang continued to eat breakfast. Aang occasionally looked at Katara, who immediately blushed under his gaze. It wasn't possible to create a normal conversation at the table, as some people were still in shock.
When breakfast was over, Aang grabbed Katara's arm and pulled her into the courtyard with the pond. Sokka was shouting something behind, but the blind girl sent him flying to silence him.
The pair of lovers quickly reached their destination, Katara giggling at her boyfriend who was full of energy all the way. In the end, they just sat down in front of the pond, the Avatar still holding her hand, not letting go.
- Don't you have meetings today? - Katara asked, puzzled.
- Some general is sick, so there won't be anything tonight, - Aang said, turning his head to look at her, practically glaring at her. – So, I'm going to spend the whole day with you.
Katara was embarrassed by the intense gaze, but she didn't look away. She decided to confront the airbender. She put her hand on his chest, lightly massaging it. She thought he was embarrassed, but he wasn't. Aang only blushed as he inhaled sharply, but after a few minutes, he relaxed. He grabbed her wrist, bringing her hand to his lips, kissing the back of it. The girl blushed.
- What's gotten into you today? - she asked.
- I thought I'd ask Zuko for advice, - he explained, dismissing her. – He said girls like bold and cheeky guys. That's why I'm like this.
Katara nodded, understanding his train of thought.
- You think it was too much, don't you? - Aang asked, suddenly confused. - I'm sorry if I put you in an awkward position...
- No, no! - The waterbender interrupted. – It was… I honestly liked it... - she put her hand on the boy's cheek. – But you don't need to change your behavior. I like you just the way you are. You are sweet and kind, cute and sometimes shy, funny and wise. I don't want you to change… But I don't mind you showing your cheeky side sometimes...
- All right, - the Avatar agreed, smiling. – Just please tell me when you're feeling uncomfortable so I can stop.
- I will, - the blue-eyed girl confirmed. – Well, right now I want to see your courage again...
Before Katara could finish speaking, Aang lunged at her, knocking her to the grass and straddling her waist. He grabbed her wrists and positioned them on either side of her. His lips came down on hers in a passionate kiss.
"Yes, I definitely like this", - girl thought, fiercely returning the kiss.
