Prologue

Before gracing the telly, "The Boys" was the 2000's incarnation of "Marshal Law": an illustrated worst-case scenario of superheroes existing in real life. Fittingly, it features a caricature of Superman: the comics' personification of righteousness, justice, and the American way. And by "caricature", we mean a broken parody lacking the qualities that make the original a true hero.

Ironically named The Homelander, this poor fool was scientifically born to be the strongest man on the planet. But instead of using his gifts for good, he squandered them in favor of a villainously hedonistic lifestyle, leading to a miserable end and a tainted legacy.

But…

What if things turned out differently? What if instead of being a disgrace to honest superheroes, he genuinely cared enough to live up to his mantle?

For such a scenario, let's break free from the canon of Garth Ennis, and take a detour into the multiverse of fanon…
