My Little Duelist

Volume 2 Chapter 0

Prologue

It was a wonderful day in Domino City. The air was just right, the birds were singing, it seemed like the perfect day for a walk in the park, or a duel at the Kaiba Land Entertainment/Amusement Center. But over in a classroom at Domino High School, aside from the usual chatter and gossip, there was some laughter. Specifically, the laughter of one green-haired individual, Spike, one of a group of seven who arrived from another world known as Equestria. And he wasn't laughing alone, he had told his friend, Rainbow Dash, what was making him laugh, and she was also busting her gut with laughter.

"I can't believe you did it! I bet he was as red as an apple when you pulled the trigger on the whole thing!" she said as she kept laughing. "You know it! Perfect payback!" Spike responded. Just then, AJ and Twilight showed up. "What's so funny, you two?" Twilight asked. "Spike, he managed to pull off the ultimately perfect revenge prank!" Rainbow declared. "What sort of prank?" AJ asked, curious but also skeptical with a hint of scolding. "Well, it all started earlier today in gym class..." Spike began as he had a flashback to when he was in his physical education class. "I honestly couldn't stop thinking about what Duke Devlin did to me some weeks ago. And that's when I saw him." he continued as he, in his flashback, saw Duke heading towards the boys' locker room to change into his gym clothes.

"I wanted some serious payback, so I went to Rainbow. She was on her way to the girls' locker room when I flagged her down." he continued. "Once he flagged me down, he told me how he was feeling, so I planted a seed in his brain." Rainbow said as she had a similar flashback to when she suggested her plan. "After I did, I saw Pinkie heading into the locker room, so I told Spike to wait while I talked with her." she continued. "I told her me and Spike's plan, and that's when she came through for us by revealing she had just what we needed for this plan, which was a revenge prank. What we needed was a dog costume." she added. "Well, I don't know how, but somehow, Pinkie came through with the dog costume, and I went into the boys' locker room and pulled the old switcheroo, swapping Duke's gym clothes with the dog costume." Spike continued as, in his flashback, he did so before Duke went into a bathroom stall to change.

"Once Duke realized that his clothes were missing, I'm heard him wonder where they went. I had a camera set and ready, and once he came out, SNAP! I took the most embarrassing snapshot of Duke Devlin's life!" he concluded as the flashback ended. "And once Spike showed me the picture earlier, I couldn't stop laughing." Rainbow said before falling to the ground, once more laughing her head off. "Look, I know that Duke embarrassed ya, Spike, but there was no need for you to pull a prank like that, as innocent as it may have been or seemed." AJ said, trying not to scold Spike. "AJ is right. I think it's best that you talk to Duke and apologize for what happened." Twilight suggested. Spike, feeling guilty, realized that she was right and agreed.

Later that day, Spike was on his way to the Kame Game Shop with his friends. "Well, how'd your talk with Duke go?" AJ asked. "I told him everything, and he said that he admitted it was a great idea to get payback for him making me wear that embarrassing dog costume. In the end, we shook hands and let it flow away like water under a bridge." Spike answered. "Very good, Spikey. I understand that you wanted to make him see that what goes around comes around, but I'm very pleased that you acted like a true man and explained yourself." Rarity said with a smile and a flutter of her eyes, causing Spike to blush a bit.

"Thanks, Rarity." Spike responded before Rarity gave him a peck on the cheek. "And that's the reward you get for being a man of your word and for being honest." she said with a giggle. 'I'll never wash this cheek again.' Spike thought to himself as he smiled. But little did they know that someone was watching them, far off in the distance, but their gaze was fixated mainly on Yugi. "At last, I've found it..." said the stranger as he disappeared into the darkness of an alley behind him.
