When Heroes crash (chapters 1 to 7)
Blurb: Zantanna spell was meant to bring Richard back it wasn't meant to cause the Avengers to return nor the Hero Foundation. (Holds chapter 1 and 7)
Chapter 1 Arrivers
Jason figure something was wrong with time the moment he woke up. The clocks went nuts and he meant nuts, the handles on the damn thing went haywire along with tech even his own microwave started to flipped open and close randomly. Everything was a mess and so Jason Todd figure there was something wrong with time. It had to be something was wrong with time.
He muttered to himself and got dress running off to the nearby telephone booth it beamed him down and he entered the lair. He glanced around wondering if anyone was on duty someone was and he noticed right off the bat who it was. Standing in her black and white suit, Zantanna stood chanting to herself as yellow ball of energy formed around her hands. Lost in trance. However, with each chant she cast the clocks went haywire.
"Zantanna what are you doing?"
"Leave me alone," she snapped her brown eyes glowing yellow. "I'm busy."
"With what?"
"What do you think I'm trying to do? Get Dick back."
"By causing time to mess up?"
"What are you talking about?"
"Time, Zantanna. Time as in its time for lunch, it's time the world might end it's time that we're all doom because you're messing with the dead."
"He isn't dead," she snapped at him with furiously eyes.
"There no body, there only a stupid mask left so yes Zantanna he's dead."
"He might be lost Red. For all we know he might be in another dimension. He might even be in the Avengers dimension," she said bitterly.
"I think you've gone loopy. How do we not know they're just fakers from the other side of the world."
"I'm bringing him back."
"From the dead?" Jason panic.
"Yes, if I have to."
"You're waking up the dead just to bring back our team mate. Beside we don't want zombies." Jason yelled.
"He's our friend Red and most importantly your own brother."
"Who's dead," Jason said. "Dead means he ain't coming back."
Zantanna eyes glowed yellow and Jason Todd was pushed back sending him crashing into a wall. She chanted even more furiously more determined to bring back Richard Wayne either from another dimension or from the dead. Portals started to form around her, dark blue ones swirling and swirling around them, an Avenger appeared.
She glare heated at them as Captain America, Quill, Hawkeye and Tony Stark flew out of the portals landing on the floor.
"Hey kids," Tony said ducking to the left as a ball of magic was flung to him. "By kids."
He tried to leave he really did, but his portal closed and he let out a sad moan of defeat.
"You are not what I want," Zantanna said.
"My aching head," whine Jason only to noticed the Avengers. "Great. Just what I want these dorks again."
"I want my coffee," stamped Tony.
"I want my air vent," mumble Hawkeye sleepy as he moved around the floor.
Another portal opened and popped out more superheroes only problem neither group recognised the set.
"What happened?" mumble one of the strangers.
"To my coffee. I have you know it spilled on my custom," said the second one. Noticing the stains that were dripping on his suit.
"Why does he get coffee?" argue Tony Stark.
"He woke up early then you," muttered Quill.
Zantanna kept chanting the lights flicker rapidly and a green portal opened something appeared, well a someone. Dressed in blue with an image of a crow on his custom, Zantanna stopped.
"Night?" Jason was the first to asked. "What happened to your suit?"
Jason didn't remember Nightwing having a bird on his custom even when he was Robin he didn't have such symbolic to his suit.
"Who are you?"
"Great, he's got memory lost. You brought back the dead with memory lost, Zantanna," said Jason.
"That isn't Night."
"Nope, the name Crow."
"As in the bird?"
"As in the hero punk," Crow said glaring at Jason.
"Ignore him. He's with us. Glitch, meet my brothers Paul and we'll Wood."
"I can't bring him back," Zantanna moaned as she sobbed in her hands.
"I told you. You couldn't bring back the dead. Thanks for getting my hopes up for nothing."
"He could be a parallel version of your friend," the Glitch offered.
"Parallel?"
"Another him."
"Yeah? No. One of me and one of me only," said Crow.
"I'm just saying it's very possible. Was there a body?"
"Nope, the guy was hit by a beam of energy and bam he don't exist, all but his stupid mask."
"See? Possible."
"Don't mind him. He's our local sneer," said Paul.
"In other words loony to the norm." Wood mentioned.
Jason noticed something shiny hanging around the man neck it looked like a golden pocket watch. Red Hood frowned behind his mask.
"What an earth are you wearing?"
"You just keep thinking it's a pocket watch."
"I think I will," mutter Hood. "Look there's no such thing as another dimension as far as I'm concerned there's a galaxy meaning what. You're from a place called Astral." Jason said.
"Ah…"
"See there nerds, dressed up like heroes."
"I'm fairly sure we're from a different Astral," the Glitch kept trying to point out.
"Different? Great, there's two cities named Astral."
"We're from a different Dimension," said Captain America. "Now, how did we end up here?"
"Magic you jerk," Red Hood muttered.
"I want coffee!" Tony Stark said stamping his foot.
"One day it's going to be science," the Captain said.
"That's if Stark stops making suits," muttered Quill.
"Coffee to your right three doors down," Jason informed.
He had never heard a man squeal with delight before now.
"Thank you," said Tony running away from the group.
"Air vent." muttered Hawkeye man.
Jason had no idea what to do with this one.
"Celling."
"Yay nest."
"Is he part bird?"
"No one knows. I like to think my team normal," Captain mumbled.
"F off," Quill splat.
"Language," muttered Captain America.
"All I said was a letter," muttered Quill.
"But you're still not Dick. Are you?"
"Who names their kid Dick and why?" whined Quill only to get hushed by the Captain. "Zipping."
"No, I really ain't I'm Crow."
Zantanna let out a moanful sobbed and walked off leaving Jason alone to explained the situation.
"We lost a teammate a couple of weeks ago. Zantanna hasn't taken it well."
"Ah, I'm sorry for your lost then. But nope, I'm not him. I'm Crow."
"What is with you and Parallel?" asked one of the Glitch brothers.
"They're from a different dimension," said Glitch pointing at the rest of the Avengers which just include two. "Why aren't we?"
His oldest brother sigh and groaned pitching the bridge of his nose.
"So, we brought you here because you've lost your friend?" mumbled the one with the pocket watch.
"In a sense. Zantanna trying to bring back the dead," mutter Hood. "Anyway Red Hood. You folks never explained who you were."
"Paul Wood then there's my younger brother. He's just Wood."
"Or would I be Wood," he smirked.
"You are not funny in any form of the word," Paul said sighing.
"Damn." he snapped his fingers.
"All we have left is his stupid mask."
"I've heard recently that Time Clock has made a reappearance along with Doctor Faith. Having two legendary mask appeared is unheard of especially to the same person perhaps there is a way to bring him back."
Bringing back Nightwing sounded impossible. He was gone. He was dead he was never coming back all thanks to Iron Head.
"Don't give us hope."
"Time Clock is the master of time while Doctor Faith is the master of magic with those two at your exposed anything is possible." Glitch said. "Especially with life from other dimensions bringing back the dead might be an archive feet."
"It might, but Doctor Faith is picky with his suitors."
"Hmm, then find new ones. There's a whole league of superheroes at Astral any one of them is qualified in wearing any of the mask. We would also vow to never take it away from you."
"Right?"
Vows meant promises and promises meant oaths and oaths meant keeping your word. Who did this guy think he was? Making such a promise to Jason Todd about his own brother was a ridiculously move.
"Will make yourself at home for a while I'll inform the others."
Jason glared at the Avengers and stormed off out of the lair. Nightwing wasn't coming back as far as he was concerned. Nor, we're there such things as other dimensions.
Chapter 2 air vents are cool & Spider man in another dimensions
"So, where the Spider kid?" asked Jason.
"There's a Spider Kid, eww," Wood said mockery.
"Spider man and he's left alone in the tower in another dimension crap. I hope he doesn't steal my stuff that spoiler brat," Quill muttered.
"Knowing the kid he's likely going to try and save it in case of a fire and Stark will kill us if he gets burnt ever so slightly."
"What's with him and air vents?" For Jason notice right away that Hawkeye was sitting in the air vents just chilling
"Shush."
"Team," Batman acknowledged as the rest of the heroes walked in. Batman also acknowledged Hawkeye just sitting in the air vents and glaring at multiple people.
"We had a chook once who liked the air vents. Hawk was attached," Captain America admitted.
"Avengers."
"Batman and the Justice League. Who are these ones they look a bit too young to be in the hero force?"
"Glitch? Hero Foundation?" Batman noticed. He saw Nightwing in Crow a little bit too much.
"I ain't Nightwing."
"You look a bit like him."
Paul was trying to tell the others to hush it by giving them a silent gestured, but the others weren't keen on letting go of the topic.
"I'm not him."
"Maybe a twin?" Glitch volunteered.
"I was there during the birth only one child popped out."
"I apologise if this offended you then. Crow do be polite he's known for his short temper means well on most days. He sort of appeared out of the blue a couple of weeks ago. No, memory of his life last he saw was our other brother Noah before he vanished off the grid."
"Appeared? And, you lost a brother in return of it?" asked Hawk woman.
"We're not sure. He could be anywhere it's not like him to walk away."
"It's not like our brother to be dead either." muttered Jason.
"Hood clam down," Batman scoffed.
"I am clam."
"Look let's clam down for a second all of us and I mean all of us. Before we cause trouble. We're all a little lost and a little stress. My godson not with us. Your teammate missing and your brother is gone, maybe we can regroup and figure something out. Zantanna could focus on practicing her magic while bringing our Spider Man to this dimension. We will figure out what happened to your brother and the Justice League can figure out what happened to Nightwing. How does that sound?" asked Captain America.
"Awful I don't want the brat here he will break a rib on a mission. Let him stay with his wife," Hawkeye muttered.
"Hawkeye," the Captain order.
"Fine bring him and the wife over she kick anyone butts in less than a day."
"What's this about my daughter?" asked Tony Stark as he stormed into the room. "Your AI fix by the way."
"Your daughter will stop worrying about us for one thing."
"Whoa, you have a daughter? Neat," said Kid Flash as he zoomed into the picture.
"I have any only child who married my godson. Why and how I don't know but I'm confused on why my daughter should have anything to do with this dimension," Tony Stark said.
"It will calm her down that's for sure."
"And, if she's a civilian we can protect her during the mission," said Miss Martin shyly.
"I can try and bring the pair here. It might work." Zantanna added. "But I need my father aid. He's more powerful than me in terms of casting magic."
"I'll call your father Zantanna you focus on the spell," said Batman.
A bang was heard in the distance and smoke appeared.
"Ta-da. When call I arrive. Zee at your service," he took a bow and his top hat off before placing it back on his head. "I believe we have a mission person. Oh, dear more than one mission person."
"Zee, you think it might be possible to bring my son back?"
"Ah, Batman my old friend. It might be possible, but first I'll need to do some research on the Time Mask meanwhile Zantanna can practice the spell."
"I don't get it. Why does everyone want to focus on the time mask?" asked Kid Flash.
"The time mask is an unusual and rare find. It doesn't pick just about anyone only the best out of the best when it comes to security guard positions. It is said to be able to change all of time itself and it may even be possible to bring back the dead. It may, may the key word," Zee clarity.
"Stop giving us hope you jackass," Red Hood yelled.
"I'm afraid I'm just being honest Red Hood especially when it comes to the time mask."
"Great. Moving on, so we're figuring out how to get Spider brat and…"
"Spider man," Tony Stark correctly. "Man, they always forget the man part."
"And, the chick?"
"Already in a relationship so no you can't rape my daughter."
"I wasn't even dreaming about it."
The two were sneering at one another giving each other heated glares.
"I bet you were. What are you without the mask? A trouble annoying brat?"
"You're the one to talk your probrely the same as me."
"Say that again to a fist."
"Stark!"
"What?"
"Enough," Caption America said. "They're just kids Stark."
"Fine, fine let my daughter through but if she gets kidnapped because of you and your team of what…"
"Heroes." Caption America finished.
"Heroes," Stark added. "It won't stop me from killing you though if you break her heart."
"Jason," Miss Martin whispered and her eyes glanced over to Tony Stark.
"Fine, I'll play nice."
Chapter 3 Crow
Crow thought to himself or at least he tried to spend time thinking to himself until he was woken up by the sound of younger guards bursting through the lair. His eyes snapped opened and he glared at Beast Boy and at Raven.
"Do you mind?"
"Dude we've just walked in. It is our lair not yours," said Beast Boy.
"And, here I am trying to find your friend."
"By sitting there at this rate you won't be worth the money," he growled.
"I was meditating. If I can focus on your friend spirit I might be able to find him."
Beast Boy let out a laugh and ever so slightly whispered. "He's a loony."
Raven nudge Beast Boy in the shoulder. "Mediation a real art you can get a lot of information that way."
"You can and that's what I've been trying to do. I've been trying to find your friend through mediation either human self or spirit. If he's alive then great if he's dead well hopefully you'll find his body to burrow ."
"But you really think you can find him that way?" asked Beast Boy. "By sitting there?"
"I think I can especially if you don't bother me."
"What about your team mate brother?"
"I've been reaching out to him for a few weeks. Through mediation the Glitch is well informed we're doing now is hunting down his location."
"And, you thought it was a joke," Raven said.
"Dude that's neat."
"I have the time mask and the Doctor Faith mask," Zee said as he wander into the room. "I just need people to wear both in order for them to talk."
"I can't wear it if I do the Power Switch will be pissed off," Wood said. "It's far too much of a living being."
"I could possible wear Neblu," offered Crow.
"Dude, Raven my girl wear the time mask."
"I'm down for it," said Raven.
Each mask was given to them separately.
"Here goes nothing," Crow said as he placed the mask on. He glowed dark golden and Raven herself glowed black before Crow was consumed.
"You are not the one I'm looking for," the helmet said.
"Yeah, will I'm not exactly looking for you either. I'm looking for someone by the name of Nightwing. Apparently he was your chosen one."
"Nightwing is many things and being my chosen one is one of them however he has decided to abandon his role as Doctor Faith and ran out of cowardice." Nebula said.
"What if I told you he went missing and currently seen as dead?"
"Seen as dead?"
"None exist. He's been gone for a while and his family is worried about him. Hero Foundation is here to help."
"Hero Foundation?"
"The original team of heroes Nebula."
"And, yet I've been unknowing about this."
"And, yet you've been living in a tower for the last century. At least according to my records," Crow said.
"Hmm."
"Why won't you help us?"
"Why should I? Run away from your responsibilities then why should I give you my guidance. Nightwing a disappointment student to me," Neblu sneered.
"He could be dead."
"And, here I stand immortal."
"With just a head," snapped Crow. He was starting to see why Neblu was just a helmet if he had a body Crow would've snapped his neck by now.
"You dare to be rude to me boy? I don't think you noticed who I am."
"You're a head. A helmet at that which hovers on its own. Whatever you were when you were human it's all gone, your body and your spirit. It's just your head that remains."
There was silence and the two of them glared at each other.
"You make a good point young hero. Be that as it may do you think you are truly worthy to see the helmet of faith?"
"I know I'm ready yar punk."
"You have a most interesting spirit. Very well. Do not let me down then."
And, so Crow was from then on known as Doctor Faith.
Chapter 4 Raven
Raven had never heard of the time mask granted she's never heard of Doctor Faith either all she knew was both mask had a cost once you place them on it was your commitment to be those heroes for the rest of your life. Never being you was the sacrifice. Raven gulped she was nervous at the thought of becoming Time Clock, but yet at the same time she wanted her friend back. And, with that she placed her mask on. Raven became Time Clock.
She was welcomed with a floating mask hovering in front of her. It was white with red lines scared around its cheek area it empty eye sockets stared blankly at her.
"And, whom?"
"Raven."
"And, why?"
"I want my friend back."
"And, what if he doesn't want to come back?" asked Time Clock.
"I'll let him be," Raven said sadly.
"Then you have my agreement to help," said Time Clock.
"But why?"
"You're willing to give your friend space and let your willing to aid. This shows me you are willing to give respect when needed so yes I will leaned you my power Raven but you will not wear my mask."
"Your power?"
"Of course."
To her shock and her team mates shock she pulled off the mask and found herself staring at Doctor Faith and at Zee.
"Raven?" Zee asked with confusion.
"Um, he said I will leans you my power but that's about all."
"Leans you his power?" Zee said thoughtfully. "Hmm, how strange. Doctor Faith do you know much about this situation?"
"Not much, Time Clock has always been mysterious to me he appears and then leave. I just know he has the power to change time."
"Changing time a rare gift only powerfully warlocks are able to do that."
"Dude, conversation great and all but quick question. What's the differences between a wizard and a warlock?" Beast Boy asked.
"Warlocks are here for war and war alone while wizards like to spend majority of their time alone with themselves." Zee explained.
"And, a witch?" asked Beast Boy.
"A woman who practiced magic kind of like Raven and my own daughter."
"Huh," Beast Boy said. "And, how will Raven new power help us find Nightwing?"
"That's a good question Beast Boy. It all depends on what kind of power was given to our friend here."
"I'm not too sure, but I don't think I can travel back in time without the mask and I'm fairly sure the mask won't let me use its full power. For some strange reason it rebelled against me." Raven said.
"Hmm how strange and let daring wonderful. We shall keep this mask safe for the time being until then Raven I would like you to practice your arts with my daughter maybe then we might gain a sense in what power the time mask has given you," Zee said as he turned around and walked out of the room taking the time mask with him.
"Dude, new powers. How cool is that?" Beast Boy said with a grin.
Raven looked at her white hand and she felt and sensed raw power pulsing through her body. It wasn't the magic she had known it was different more powerful somebody else magic, somebody else talent and skilled placed in the palm of her hand she gripped her hand tightly and tucked it into her pocket. She will do powerful and great things with her new skill set.
Powerful and great things indeed.
Chapter 5 MIA and introducing Hazel Stark
"So, name?" Tony Stark said as he typed away on the hologram keyboard.
"His name or my name?" asked Wood.
"His," replied Tony. "If he's in the system tech should be able to located him in a heartbeat."
"And, if he isn't?" asked Wood.
"Then that's the problem. If he isn't in the system it might take longer to look for him. In other words we have an MIA."
"And, that is?" Wood asked.
"Missing in action kid," Tony Stark said.
"I don't think we are in the system. Grew up on the streets, but he's Noah Wood," said Wood.
"Middle name?"
"Has none."
"Got yar."
Tony started typing away furiously at his keyboard.
"Let's see Noah Wood. Noah Wood, hmm. Nope nothing found on the major web, but his last known location was Gold Street Astral. Hey, kid ain't that a fighting ring?"
"Maybe, but yeah you're right that is where Noah was last known to be no idea where about thoughts. He might've moved down west."
"Maybe?" hummed Tony Stark as he typed away. "Let's hope he's moved down west and not kidnapped by another parallel world."
"I rather him being kidnapped by parallel then down west. I hear that's the most roughest place you can go to and Noah always been the softest one out of us when it comes to battling."
"Ah, I'm sorry you lost me at battling," said Tony Stark.
"Our mother a jackass," said Wood. "That's all you need to know either way thanks for your help. Anywho better get moving got a long tripped to Astral. If you need help to get back to your dimensions Hero Foundation can assist."
His Power Switch slowly turned to the label shapeshifter and his formed started to change he grew a tail and four paws he was suddenly a cheater.
"Ahh?"
Tony Stark was not used to shape shifting.
The cheater ran off and ran away heading for the exist the blue light at the existed transported him to who knows where leaving Tony Stark stunned at the sight.
"Where Wood?" asked the Glitch as he wander towards Tony Stark he gestured his finger to the side and pointed at the transporter.
"Shapeshifter into a cheater and left."
"He does that."
"The leaving part of shape shifting?" asked Tony. "Because if so I'm new to the whole shape shifting bit. Which reminds me. What an earth is that thing around his neck?"
"Power Switch. It looks like a pocket watch, but instead of telling time it gives power."
"Great, we have an over power teen running around wearing a pocket watch that tells power. And, not time. Where an earth did you get one of those things? I would kill to get one."
"Don't know Wood found it at Jaya point," said the Glitch.
"Never heard of it. Holly Wood nothing new to me though."
"I am uncertain if I have a sister," Glitch paused. "That's sane."
"Ah, sane?"
"She's a bit loopy. Tends to go off her rockets a lot. Kid Flash and the others may have heard about her. Purple Die, ring a bell?"
Kid Flash shivered at the mere thought and the others exchanged looks while Tony Stark waited impatiently to hear the end of the story.
"Purple Die is who to what?"
"You might like her since you see yourselves as the Avengers," Kid Flash said using air quotes in the process. "I mean she is a serial killer and all."
"Oh, how fun an insane loopy who's a superhero. Right? Maybe?"
"Depends on how you look at it. One thing for sure is she doesn't come back home." said Glitch sadly before he turned to the team. "Now, about your two companies that are around I supposed you might need help bringing them here."
"I can do this spell successfully with my father," Zantanna said bitterly.
"Can you?" Glitch challenged as he titled his head to the side. Blue light appeared at the transportation and Wood appeared with a woman with dark red colour hair wearing a long purple fur coat.
"Spell Caster newbies. Newbies Spell Caster."
"I said I don't need help," Zantanna said bitterly almost twice as bitter.
"Figure you might need help. With every point of view there's a different perspective in other words there are many Hazel Starks out there running around and I'm sure Tony would like to get his daughter. His actual daughter," Spell Caster said with a huff and a flick of her hair.
"Fine, we work with Raven, Doctor Faith, my father and Spell Caster," Zantanna said giving in to the idea.
"Will that settles this debate. Moving on now, are we ready."
"I'll get the others," Kid Flash said as he zoomed off. Raven let out a screech at the thought of being pluck off the ground and stamped her foot on Kid Flash who winched in pain and tumble to lean on a wall. "Ow."
The magic users got together and stood in a circle their hands spread out and they mumbled to themselves before their mumbling became louder and more clearer as they chanted and chanted. Golden light appeared in a circle in front of them along with a star shape in the middle of that said circle. The group expected two people to appeared from the chanting, but instead they brought in a small group.two elderly pair appeared one woman with grey curly hair dressed in light blue appeared with her walking cane while the man appeared wearing the same light blue dressed in a sweater and a pair of trousers with his grey hair jell back and holding a walking frame.
"What? What happened, where am I?" asked the elderly man.
"Please don't ell me your spell time traveler and this is the results," said Beast Boy as he pointed to the two elderly people.
Zantanna glared as if to say she wasn't done with the spell yet and as far as she was concerned they just appeared out of nowhere.
The magic users kept chanting and out appeared a young woman with long brown hair wearing a business suit typing away on her phone and a man with curly brown hair wearing a heated sweater that had the letter p on it and a pair of brown trousers.
"Oh, no not this place again," said the man as he looked around.
The golden light faded away and the magic users took a deep breath out as they heavy sighed.
"Pepper I want a press report on the next up to date Stark pads." she said only to pause and look up as her father opened his arms and smiled.
"Hazel!"
"Ah, where am I and what is this place?" she asked.
"Bat cave," said Tony. The other heroes glared. "Not bat cave, but be it as it may this lair is a cave with super high tech stuff and we've brought you from one dimension to another dimension."
"Ah? So, you're pretty much telling me there's no such thing as the Stark company here anymore?"
"Pretty much."
Hazel looked down at her phone slowly dropped to the ground and curl herself into a ball.
"My company!" she screamed in pain as she rocked herself back and fourth.
"I'm Peter Parker and I'm completely lost," he said.
"Godson, team. Team, Godson."
"And, the elderly pair?"
"His grandparents."
"I'm lost in another world, staring at you," said the old man pointing at Tony Stark.
"Thanks dad. Everyone Howard Stark, my own father. And, the elderly woman is Peter great aunt. Hi, aunt May."
"Tony where are we?" she said as Tony helped her to a nearby chair.
"I'm sure it isn't the end of the world," said Raven as she loomed over Hazel.
"It is to me. I want my home. I want my tower. I want my AI. But most importantly I want my popcorn," Hazel moaned.
"Popcorn we can do," Kid Flash said as he zoomed off into the kitchen.
"Why am I here? I'm not a superhero I don't even have the tech for it."
"You're here because I'm not leaving my daughter behind."
"Boo."
A red portal appeared and out appeared a man wearing dark blue and a dark red cape walking towards them. Two men in black and white suits appeared behind him.
"And, you are?" asked Raven.
"My strange, strange uncle," said Hazel.
"Stephen Strange. Happy and Flash." Stephen said. "Figure you need a magic user I volunteer."
"Good to know," said Raven as she hovered away.
"Uncle she floats," whined Hazel.
Kid Flash zoomed in with popcorn.
"There you go," he said passing the popcorn to her.
"He zooms," she moaned. "Nothing normal. Nothing normal anymore."
"Neat popcorn," said Beast Boy as he snatched up the popcorn that was meant for Hazel.
"Dude," Kid Flash scowled.
"Chill bro it went to a good home. My stomach." Beast Boy let out a playful laugh.
"I'm just taking your shock blanket. Here have some cash for it," said Tony as he passed Batman a handful of money the mask man wasn't impressed with the crash given as Tony passed the blanket over to his daughter.
"So, now that we have Hazel here. Let's see if we can bring back Dick," said Tony as he flashed a smiled seemingly a lot more happy.
Chapter 6 Richard and Noah
Richard woke up with a dry throat feeling exhausted and drained he opened up his eyes or at least tried to, but noticed it was a struggle to do so. He wondered where he was until he paused and noticed where he was. He was on a hard metal table and chained to it as will. He looked up only to noticed a shiny bright light above him and whence in pain he glanced to the side and noticed someone around his age with sandy blonde hair and freckles around his cheeks he turned to look at Nightwing.
"We're doomed," they both said at once. "Yeah, but? Wait? What?"
The two paused and were completely speechless.
"Did we just become best buds?" Noah asked.
"Tied up to tables best buds?" Nightwing asked. "Sure."
"Neat. Now, where are we?" asked Noah.
"Aching head tells me somewhere around north." Noah said.
"Huh, somewhere around north. Your headaches tell you something? Sweet, mine just give me pain. Oh, the pain."
"This way, do come through," said a female scientist as she wander into the room wearing her lab coat and holding out a clip board as she sighed the paper work. Meanwhile three stronger men followed in with her and the scientist.
"Who are these tweets?" the man asked. As he looked down over them Nightwing glared up, but Noah gulped.
"I ain't a tweet," splat Nightwing.
"I like the living ones."
"Ignore them I do. Most of them aren't really violent."
"Yeah, I know doc, but they're fun to pull apart," chuckled the man. "So, what are we going to do with these lot?"
"I haven't thought about it. Yet, got the blonde kid from a street fighter as for the one in blue he just appeared out of the well," she paused. "Blue. Anyway, let's see what to do with you two. I know we will turn the blond kid into a seer. I'll imagine he'd be rather helpful into stopping those superhero teams."
"Whatever you say doc."
He untied Noah from his bed and pluck him off the table and tossed him over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.
"Stop this," yelled Nightwing.
"Clam down you. You'd be just fine."
There was a needle in her hands and the next thing he knows it was pressed into his shoulder and as he felt the drug pumped through his body his eye lids became heavier. And, Nightwing drifted to sleep.
Chapter 7 Doctor Faith
Crow found himself in the helmet of Faith head space feeling both alive and not alive. He found himself checking his own pulse making sure he was still alive and found himself very much alive and now in the mind of the helmet of Faith he found himself staring at the old knight helmet. Wondering what to do and how to help, but Neblu didn't answer.
"I'm just temporarily aren't I?"
"Indeed my true chosen one is Richard Wayne otherwise known as Dick Wayne, but he is currently seen as missing and possible presumed as dead."
"How long has he been missing for?"
"Over a week," said Neblu.
"He might be seen as dead to the public system."
"And, the public system is?"
"Technology," replied Crow.
"Ah, I see then there we will have to fix that won't we. You look a bit like Nightwing perhaps you could possible go hero."
"You want me to dress up as some dead guy? I really don't want to,". Crow said bitterly.
"It would clam down the public."
"Fine. I'll get one of his old customs."
Crow took the helmet of faith off and was met with a woman dressed in very short, shorts and a tank top coloured in red and blue with her long black hair tied down to a ponytail.
"Well?"
"I'm expected to go Nightwing," Crow said.
"Nightwing?" asked the woman more likely Richard mother.
"Yeah."
"As in?"
"I'm expected to use his customs so people don't think he's dead."
"And, who suggested you this?"
"Faith," said Crow. "I'm sorry, but who are you?"
"Right. I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Wonder Woman, mother of Nightwing and wife of Batman. I wasn't in the knowing that both helmets picked him. I was more concerned on why he ran away."
"He ran away," then it dawned on him. "Crap he is that lost kid that was on the news a couple of weeks ago."
"He was and he is. He's still seen as missing the police see him as dead though. Said, something about a twenty four hour time on the matter."
"Eh, I wouldn't listen to them too much they're more of funeral planners then superheroes in others words they only want the body."
"Thank you, that's much reassuring. But I'm still worried about him. I keep having visions of my son in pain."
"Ah, tough break there. Let's hope we can find him before he died. Which by the way brings me to this. Got an old custom of his? So, I can go hero."
"Hero. I supposed I do." said Wonder Woman as she walked away. Crow waited for a while and she came back with a fresh new custom which hanged on a coat hanger she passed it to him. "Take good care of it. It's one of his first customs. I'm sorry, I have to go."
She walked off moaning the possible lost of her son leaving him with the heavy burden of becoming Nightwing on his shoulders.
"Here goes nothing."
An half of hour later he changed into his superhero custom and presented himself to the helmet of Faith.
"Uncomfortable but it will do. Where does he normally portal at?" Crow asked now dressed as Nightwing.
"I am not in the knowing this is a question you will have to ask Batman."
"Of course. As for you I supposed I have to take you with me?"
"Indeed," Faith said.
Crow picked up the helmet and wander off out of the lair only to be stopped by the Flash.
"Night?"
"Ah?"
"Nightwing? You're back?" asked the Flash as Batman walked in only to stop in his tracks.
"Son?"
"Ah, I know what it looks like but I'm not him."
"Then explained. Who are you and what are you doing wearing my son custom?" Batman demanded in a hash tone that made Crow flinch slightly.
He pulled off the mask to show who he was and flashed a sad smiled.
"Crow?"
"Sorry, I'm not him Batman?"
"Explain."
"Wonder Woman knows, but it was Faith idea."
He puts the mask back on and Batman glared. He glared behind that black mask of his, glared.
"Why you?"
"I don't know he probably thinks I'm best suited for the job."
"For the job? I supposed you want to know where he portals at?"
"Gotherm city. Be careful he deals with the Joker," said Batman.
Chapter 8 Crow meets Joker and Robin kicks into gear
Drip.
Drip.
Drip.
The water leaked out of the pipe and drip from it continuously Crow mutter to himself as he followed Nightwing route. Check the swears tunnels for some strange reasons. For some strange reason this was something he did, for some strange reason he looked for kidnapped victims in the tunnels and dead bodies. Oh, what an event he thought bitterly to himself no wonder his parents worried their only son and heir was after dead bodies in the swears just to burrow them and track down his family. That was Nightwing job. He shivered at the mere thought and prayed to whatever God who would head him that he did not find a dead body.
Not being able to stand this he popped the lid opened and jumped out of the swears only to pause and see a kid around about ten with dark black hair and green eyes wearing rags for clothes that looked as if he's been in a dog fight and won.
"Ah, who are you?"
"I'm looking for Crow," the kid said.
"I am Crow," he said bitterly. He wasn't good with kids granted he's never been near a child be fore much less dealt with one.
"I'm not dumb, I know yar Nightwing. Not Crow."
"Then had dumb I'd had can't tell what city you're in."
The boy stayed silent and stared up at him and Crow decided it was best to walk away and so he did. He walked away.
The boy followed.
"Would you stop following me?"demanded Crow.
"But why?"
"Because I said."
"But maybe I just want to," huffed the child.
"Maybe you just want to follow the superhero around. Or, wait that's right you just happened to be a street kid ready to bug me."
"Don't be rude," a voice from the distance said.
Crow glared above him as a woman with light green skin and wearing blue and white flew towards him her red hair flying with as the wind blows around her.
"He's just lost."
"He could be a nobody trying to kick me in the leg," splat Crow.
"No, I'm a nobody trying to steal your money," said the kid.
"Who are you?"asked Miss. Martian as she stepped on the ground.
"Damian Wayne."
"Real name." Miss. Martian said.
"Damian," admitted the kid.
"Come on. I'll take you home."
She held out her hand expecting the child to take it, but Damian refused to take it he huffed instead and walked over to the street light.
"Nah, I'll prefer to spend some time here instead."
"I supposed. But it be much safer at home then out here."
"Depends on who's talking," said Crow. "Look kid I'm gonna to ask you some very simple answers. Are you being hit or hurt anywhere you're not meant to by your caretaker?"
"No," said Damian.
"See no abuse. Now, come on let's leave the kid out here. If he wants to let his parents worry then go for it. Why is it our job?"
"It works differently here compared to Astral," said Miss. Martian with a firm voice. "Children under twenty aren't meant to be out before lights out."
"Great. We just let's our run a muck." Miss. Martian didn't seem to like that idea. Crow let out a nervous chuckled. "Just joking around. Seriously. I am."
Miss. Martian didn't seem to buy it then a mad chuckled was heard in the distance the pair paused.
"What was that?"asked Crow.
"It might be the city not so friendly psychopath."
There was silence between the two before Crow spoke up far too loud. "There's a psychopath!"
The laughter was heard again even Damian hid behind the Martian.
"In coming knife."
Crow ducked, but the knife flew straight to the girl she held out her hand and her eyes glowed light green. The knife stopped midway it floated for a moment before the blade slowly turned from the hero to the foe. The knife flew off into the direction it came from and the foe moved ever so slightly to the left. Laughter was heard.
"You missed, dearly by an inch."
"Joker," Miss. Martian said with a frown the boy ran for his life
"Ah, ah," said the Joker as he tossed a knife at the boy.
Crow didn't duck this time instead he caught the. Blade by its handle and tossed it the ground.
"So, your the city big bad?" Crow mucked as he crackled his knuckles. "Or, yeah. It's about time."
"Crow. Wait, a battle plan needed to form formation."
Crow ignored the alien and ran straight at the bad guy. The bad guy let out a chuckled and moved away from every punch Crow sent him. Before the next thing he knows he was knocked on the back of the head and hit the ground hard, he came tumbling down.
"Joker, leave him alone we can talk about this," said Miss. Martian.
"What if I don't want to leave him alone? What if I want to have some fun instead. After all, it's been very boring in Gothem city, hasn't it Miss. Martian?"
"Joker," she scowled not knowing what else to say. However, Crow knew from the way she was standing, knew from the way she was holding herself that the alien from another plant didn't know nor knew what to do or say in matters like this. Then this means what exactly? That Miss. Martian was not at all the leader type to lead a team.
Not, the sort of person he needed as of now. He needed someone who would pick fight instead of flight. Picking himself up off the ground he turned around and went to punch the Joker instead. Shocking him with a small surprised of delight Damian ran up and kicked the Joker in the knee the insane man went down onto the ground. And, let out a mad, mad, mad laugh.
"Oh, you're a good one. Your better than her. Miss. Martin over there just sort of stands there for show, but when battle comes she goes oh no don't hurt me. Even the kid can fight better than you."
He let out a chuckled to himself to himself and slung an arm around Crow and slung another arm around Damian. He grinned wickedly to himself.
""I'll tell you what. Why not you and I start a rebellion. Let's kicked out alien life here and keep it to ourselves. Just us humans. You know the First Nation?" He let out an untrusted chuckled. "Go on, we can kick people like her out. Like Star Fire and any alien like them. So, let's start a rebellion? You and me. Go on, you two. Shake a poor man hand, I'm just here to do some good that's all I care about truly. Go on."
"And, become a sell out?"asked Crow.
"Now, now. Sell out a strong word. Don't you know? Sell out a very strong word. There's no such thing about such matters. It's just one man working with another man." Both hands held out he offered them to child to man, begging them to shake his evil hands.
Damian gulped down his fear and Crow crossed his arms glaring at the man.
"What's in it for us?"
"You'll become a traitor to your own team. How, wonderful well that be? What a delight for all? A new change for you and a new rookie for me." Joker grinned with such news given to him and waited for the excepted answered to arrive.
"Don't do it," the Martian begged. "Don't do it. Whatever you do say no. It's nothing, but a trapped. It's nothing, but a trick. It's nothing, but a lie. Rule number one never trust a mad man."
"Is that what all your kind of think of us?"demanded Crow as he marched up to the alien. "Is that what they all say about us behind our back as you break our bodies and try to destroy them. Is that it?"
"No, no not at all," Miss. Martian said. "Some are good some are bad, not all are great and some are just downright ugly. But there's rights for lower life species such as yourselves. It's why I'm here it's my job to protect you from bigger threats."
"And, let a brat younger than you with no powers fought off a full grown adult man."
"Well, well, well…"
"Martian, Martian, Martian. Now, now, now, now. Don't get carried away. Let's have a little fun first. Let's flipped a dine. If it's heads I win. If it's tails then you win. In other words if it's heads then I become famous with one sweet delightful; word. Rebellion."
"And, if you don't win?"glared Miss. Martian.
"Then I'll hand myself over to the cops," said the Joker holding up his hands in surrendering he even dropped his hidden knife. "Ta-da."
