"Shit class is so boring." Anko(12 years old.) complained. She just left the academy and was headed towards her favorite Dango stand. Just thinking about it caused her mouth to drool in excitement. She never understood why she was in the academy, she was the strongest in her class and the kunoichi of the year. She was walking through the village when she saw some villagers walking out an alley, smirking evilly. But what startled her was blood on their knuckles and clothes. Curiosity getting the best of her, she looked in the alley, she saw an unconscious blonde boy, bruised up. She ran towards the blonde, checking his vitals. 'He's alive.' she turned back to the villagers and frowned. 'The villagers, did they do this to him?'
Anko picked up the blonde and left towards the hospital. But what the future snake mistress didn't know was this action was seen by a higher power by a being of unfathomable power.
Anko carried Naruto back to her single apartment. She couldn't believe that the doctors would kick him out and they had the nerve to tell her to be careful about the demon. She looked down at the blonde as she laid him on the couch, rubbing his whisker marks. "How can someone think a boy as cute as you as a demon."
Anko saw steam coming from the boy's body as his wounds were healing. 'What the hell? Some kind of bloodline?'
She was snapped out of her thoughts when Naruto started to stir around and woke up, rubbing his eyes. He looked around and saw Anko staring at him. His eyes widened and he backed away from her and fell on the floor, balling up in a fetal position. "Please, no more….don't hurt me." Naruto(6 years old.) begged and started to cry.
Anko was not a soft person, she was a badass tough as nails kunoichi. But seeing this, even this would break her wall. Anko ran towards the boy and wrapped him in a hug. "I'm not going to hurt you, I saw what happened. Why did those people attack you?"
Naruto was shaking and slowly wrapped his arms around Anko. "It happens every year ever since I could remember, especially on my birthday." Anko's eyes widened.
"What's your name and how old are you?" Anko asked.
"My name is Naruto Uzumaki and I'm six years old." Naruto answered quietly.
"My name is Anko Mitarashi. Where do you live, Naruto?" Anko asked.
"On the street, I was sleeping in the box in the alley way." Naruto answered. Anko's heart was breaking as she talked to the blonde.
"W-what about your family?" Anko asked but soon she regretted it when she saw his down written face.
"I don't have one…" Naruto answered crying. "I was kicked out of the orphanage because they say I was disturbing the other kids and a demon shouldn't corrupt the other children. I'm alone, only the people at Ichiraku's are nice to me."
"Well that's about change?" Anko said. "I'm an orphan just like you and I have my own place with a few extra rooms. You can stay with me."
Naruto smiled but frowned. "Are you sure? I'm not well liked and if you're with me, people might hurt you." Naruto said
"It's fine, I'll even teach you some things to defend yourself. We can't have you covered in blood everytime I come home from the academy."
"You're a ninja?!" Naruto asked excitedly.
"That's right, you know, how about I make you my apprentice?" Anko asked.
"What's that?" Naruto asked
"It means I'm your personal teacher." Anko answered. "Now let's head to your new place and get you settled in." Naruto nodded and followed his new friend. Unknown to the two, they had someone watching them,
"Excuse me, my lady. Something interesting happened. It seems Naruto-sama made a friend with a student in the academy." the watcher said as she spoke into a headset.
'Really? Hopefully things continue to get better before we retrieve him. Who is this person who spoke to him?' the voice over the mic said.
"Anko Mitarashi, a prodigy and the current kunoichi of the year. She's very headstrong and a rebel to the rules. Her goal is to be the strongest kunoichi. And here's the kicker, she's an orphan like him. She also made him her apprentice."
"…I see, help her. Give her hints about his clan. I don't trust the village, especially after what they did. Make sure nothing happens to him until everything is set up."
"Hai, mistress." the figure said before disappearing.
It's been a few months since Naruto moved in with Anko and to say she was impressed by the boy. She decided to teach Naruto kunai throwing and shuriken and he scored a perfect score. After that she tested his stamina and he showed in a unique way by outrunning anbu after pulling some pranks, which she enjoyed. And even outside of training, the two got along just fine which made her question why people hated him. "Ok Foxy, I think it's time we unlock your chakra." Anko said, standing in an abandoned training ground.
"Really? But I thought we were going to work on my taijutsu?" Naruto said.
"We are and to do that, we have to unlock your chakra." Anko began, earning Naruto's attention. "You see, people believe that anyone could learn any taijutsu and while that's partly true, it also depends on what type of body you have, like being small and skinny, slim and flexible or even big and heavy. The only reason chakra plays a part is because it depends on how it flows or the amount depends on how you can use it and your body to the fullest."
"I think I get it, so if I have a little. I might be a fast fighter and if I have a normal amount, I should be balanced." Naruto said.
"Exactly, you have a normal amount for your age and we'll work on increasing as you grow." Anko and as she sat down and crossed her legs. "Now, to unlock your chakra, you have to sit down and meditate like this. Then close your eyes and look for something that looks like a floating pond." Anko said as the outline of her body started to glow blue.
"Wow, I want to try." Naruto said as he sat down and crossed his legs.
"Remember Foxy, relax and focus. I know you're excited but stay calm."
Naruto nodded and breathed a bit. 'Something that looks like a pond. Hmm, that's bigger than a pond I think. Is that my…?' Naruto reached out and soon he was surrounded by a blue sphere and it kept getting bigger.
Anko was surprised by what she was seeing and feeling. 'How can I see his chakra? It feels warm and heavy but why does his chakra make me feel safe?' "Naruto, you can stop now."
Naruto opened his eyes and the chakra receded inside his body. "How did I do?"
"How did you do?" Anko repeated. "Naruto-kun, you have more chakra than me. Like, a lot more."
"Is that good?" Naruto asked.
Anko folded her arms and thought about it. "Well, once you get your chakra under control, you'll be able to perform any jutsu and also increase your physical abilities."
"How do I learn how to control my chakra, Anko-chan?" Naruto asked, tilting his head.
'Kawaii! No, training first. Cuddle later.' Anko thought before walking to a tree and grabbing a leaf. "The first basic chakra exercise is to stick the leaf on your head, using your chakra to stick it to your head." Anko demonstrated by sticking it to her head.
"Oh, I see." Naruto said as he grabbed a leaf and attempted to stick it to his head but it was shredded to pieces. "Um, did I do something wrong?"
"Hmm, I think it's because of the amount of chakra you have. Try using more leaves." Naruto nodded and they were all shredded. "I guess we can skip this and try tree walking." Anko went to a tree and poured some chakra on the sole of her feet and proceeded to walk up the tree. "Just pour chakra at the bottom of your foot. Too little and you'll slip, too much and you'll blow off it."
Naruto walked to the tree and added some chakra to his feet. He took a deep breath and ran up the tree before it cracked under him and fell off. Anko dashed towards him and caught him before he hit the ground. "Got you, Naru-kun." Ank said as Naruto's face was in her breast.
"Hmm, thanks Anko-chan. Sorry I messed up." Naruto said.
"It's fine, you just unlocked your chakra and you have a lot of it, even more than me." Anko said.
"Oh, but what about my taijutsu?" Naruto asked.
"Yeah, well from what I learn. You'll need an offensive style with your chakra level. Your physical prowess will be high and you have chakra to spare. I would say, you can go defensive as well but it'll be a waste. In the meantime, after the academy, I'll buy you some training weights to boost your speed."
"Huh, you graduate soon? But that means…" Naruto looked down with a sad expression. "You'll be going on missions and I won't be able to see you." Naruto said in a quiet tone.
"Naruto-kun…" Anko hugged Naruto and brought him closer. "I will return no matter what, now that I have you. I have a reason to become stronger."
Naruto looked at Anko with determination and smiled. "I'll get stronger too. We can get strong together."
"Imouto-chan." The two turned to see Yugao(14 years old) approach them. "Oh, who's this cutie?"
Naruto hid behind Anko nervously. "Yugao-nee, this is Naruto Uzumaki. Prodigy and future hokage of the leaf village."
"Really, well it's an honor. I'm actually glad I found you, Naruto-kun." Yugao said and pulled out a scroll. "I found this in a forbidden section in the Library and it said, I found it in the section called 'Uzu.' since your name is Uzumaki, I thought it might be a connection."
"Really?" Naruto took the scroll and opened it. "Torrent Fist?' A taijutsu style utilized rotation and dancing around the opponent's body, trying to disrupt movement like a whirlpool. Huh, they got a kenjutsu style, Ripple Dance. I need two swords for this."
"Very convenient, where did you find this?" Anko asked her surrogate sister.
"I was looking up jutsu's in the library and it was in the S-rank section and part of the section was covered." Yugao said. "I got some blunt swords you can have to practice if you like."
"I think it's a good Idea, Naru-kun. There's not many kenjutsu user's and we don't have a dual blade." Anko said.
"I'll help you with it as well." Yugao said.
"Thanks Yugao-chan." Naruto said.
"No problem." Yugao said, rubbing Naruto's hair. "Anything to help."
Naruto smiled and noticed a book in a scroll as well. "What's this? Basic Fuinjutsu for…the Uzumaki-clan?"
"What? What do you mean you haven't seen him in 3 months?" Hiruzen asked the keeper of the orphanage.
"Well, Naruto moved out of the orphanage." the keeper replied.
"Moved or you kicked him out?" Hiruzen asked, narrowing his eyes. When he saw the woman flinch, that was his answer. "All the money I've sent here for the past 3 months is coming out of your check."
"B-but he's a de-"
"One more word and your life is forfeited." Hiruzen warned.
"Hokage-sama, I know where Naruto-kun is." Weasel said, appearing out of the shadow. "He's with Anko Mitarashi."
"Hmm, bring those two to my office. I'll be waiting." Hiruzen before shushining away.
Anko and Naruto appeared in the office of leader after the surprise call. "Naruto-kun, Anko-chan. I'm glad you made it to my office, now I have a question for you. Naruto-kun, why haven't you informed me that you were kicked out of the orphanage?"
"I didn't want to cause you trouble. I know how the fat ugly people always yell at you when you do something for me." Naruto said, causing Anko to chuckle at the insult.
"Thank you for the thought but don't be afraid to come to me." Hiruzen said. "Now I have to find a way to remedy this situation."
"Hokage-sama, why not have Naruto continue to live with me? I'm an orphan as well and I could use a friend. I know how the people glare at him but I don't care." Anko said.
"Hmm, I'm not sure the council would be ok with this." Hiruzen said.
"Why does it matter if Naruto-kun lives with me or not? He's not hurting anyone and no one deserves to be alone." Anko said.
"Fine, as long as you two stay out of trouble. I'll deal with the council." Hiruzen said.
"Thanks jiji. I promise I won't cause trouble." Naruto said. He wanted to ask the hokage about the Uzumaki clan but he promised Yugao not to say anything.
Uzushiogakure.
Kushina Uzumaki, the current Uzukage, was overlooking the freshly built village. She was able to locate a lot of the missing Uzumaki's and some other nins but even with the newly built village, she wasn't happy because she was missing the one thing that held her heart. "Sochi, I will save you from the corruption of Konoha." The council lied to her about her son's death and when she found out they lied. She became the leader and took in some refugees and made alliances with multiple villages.
"Kushina-sama, Naruto-kun began his kenjutsu training and learning fuinjutsu. What's the next step?" A voice said through the mic.
"Neko, excellent job. Are there anything else I should be aware of regarding the leaders or the sannin?"
"In a matter of fact, Danzo found out about Anko staying with Naruto-kun but fortunately for him, Orochimaru was going to take her on as an apprentice and take her out the village to train her."
Kushina clicked her teeth. "I don't trust that snake, he's been leaving the village a lot. No doubt he's planning something and Danzo should see this. No matter, soon Konoha won't be our problem. Neko, I want you to protect Naruto when Anko leaves by taking him to our house hidden behind the mountain, deep within the forest. Continue to give him our scrolls."
"Anything else you want me to teach him?"
"Find out his chakra nature and that'll be all for now. When he becomes a genin, I want you to give him the contract. Keep him away from the toads. His useless god-father was not there for him, so he doesn't deserve to have my son as an apprentice."
"Understood, I'll keep you posted Kushina-sama."
"Before you go, I am making Naruto a new outfit, vetted with seals, when he becomes a genin. And Yugao-chan, please be safe." Kushina said in a soft tone.
"Thanks, sensei."
2 years later.
"What? You're going to leave the village?" Naruto asked his best friend. It's been two years since Naruto met Anko and he had approved of leaps and bounds, especially when it came to Kenjutsu, Taijutsu and Fuinjutsu. His chakra control was close to perfect but since his chakra level kept growing, he would never have perfect chakra control. Because of Yugao and Anko, he grew up healthy and didn't have to rely on ramen as a source of food. One thing that pissed Anko off was that a store sold Naruto a ugly jumpsuit. She decided to let him keep it until he graduated or until he grew out of it. Naruto actually started to develop a crush on the two kunoichi, with Anko having the same feelings but no one knew.
"Yeah, Naru-kun. Orochimaru asked me to be his apprentice and said we had to leave immediately." Anko said. Anko became a chunin in a year after becoming a genin and gained the attention of the snake sannin. Anko had become over protective of Naruto since they became friends. Unfortunately since Anko was around Naruto, people assumed she was controlled by Naruto or called her a traitor. She didn't care since she was a genin, and anything done to her would be seen as treason. One time, she put 4 villagers in a hospital for beating Naruto in the alley and she started to up his training. "It's a great opportunity and it'll help me become stronger to protect you and I can help you become stronger."
Naruto understood and nodded. "I get it, I'll try to catch up to you."
Anko smiled and rubbed the blonde's head. "I'll ask some of my friends to check up on you."
Naruto flinched. "None of your friends like me remember?" Anko sighed and remembered when she introduced the blonde to her sister figures.
Flashback:
"Hey guys, I would like to introduce you to my new friend." Anko said, walking up to her fellow Ice queens with Naruto behind. Yugao smiled, she knew Anko would introduce him to her sister figures, sooner or later. "Everyone, meet Naruto!" Anko said, moving out of the way.
"Nice to meet.." "Anko, why did you bring him here?" Yugao was cut off by Kurenai, who asked the question with a scowl.
"Yeah, do you not know the rumors about him? He's a monster in disguise." Hana added. Naruto flinched and hid behind Anko.
Anko narrowed her eyes on the two. "How can you say that? Foxy is now a monster!"
"Anko, listen to us. He's dangerous." Kurenai said, still remembering how her dad was crushed by the kyuubi.
"It's true, my kaa-chan said so as well." Hana added.
"Well for one, I don't think you're a monster." Yugao said as she approached the blonde. "Nice to see you again."
"Yugao, what are you doing?" Hana asked. "You can die if you get too close to him." Naruto started to cry and ran away from the insults.
"Foxy-kun, wait!" Anko chased after the little blonde. Yugao turned to the remaining ice queens and glared at them.
"You two need to grow up. I know there's rumors and I know what your mother said but Naruto is not a monster. I expected more from some chunin but I guess I had too much expectation." Yugao said, leaving the dango stand.
Flashback end:
"Yeah, well there's the Ichiraku's and Yugao. Plus I taught you evasive skills to avoid the civilians. As long as you don't hurt them, you shouldn't get in trouble." Anko said, bending down to Naruto's level. "Please stay safe, Foxy-kun. You know where all the hiding spots are and remember, be careful who you trust. Don't show your hand, just show enough."
"And you stay safe as well, come back strong and we can train together again." Naruto said, hugging her back. Anko pecks the boy on the forehead and back away, eyes never leaving Naruto. "Bye Anko-chan."
"See ya when I return, Naru-kun." Anko said, shinshun away. Naruto sighs and walks towards the academy.
"I can't believe someone like you is at the academy." Naruto turned to see two boys picking on a girl with pink hair. "Although, your forehead could be used as a weapon."
"It's not that big." the girl mumbled.
"Leave her alone." the group turned to see Naruto, glaring at them.
"Ah, look who it is. The freak, my parents told me about you. How you're a monster that pretends to be a boy." one of the bullies said.
"That's funny, you're calling me a monster and you're picking on a beautiful girl." Naruto said, earning a blush from the pinkette.
"Why you!" The three boys were going to charge, then Naruto sent out some small ki. They panicked and ran away. Naruto turned to the girl and held out his hand. "Are you ok?"
"Um, yeah. Thank you." the girl said. "Oh, I'm Sakura Haruno. Who are you?"
"Naruto Uzumaki, nice to meet you." Naruto said. Sakura took his hand and stood up. "Are you starting the academy today?"
"Yea, I know I'm a civilian but I want to be strong like my idol." Sakura said.
"It doesn't matter if you are clan or civilian, you can become strong by training. Don't let no one tell you otherwise. I believe in you." Naruto said.
Sakura blushed and gave him a big smile. "Thank you, hey. Do you want to be friends?" Sakura asked.
"I'm not sure if that's ok." Naruto answered with a sad expression.
"B-but why?" Sakura asked,with a tear in her eye.
"Because he's a freak." They turned to see a Uchiha walking past him. "My dad always told me he was dangerous and he should die. Not that I care but I would stay away from him." the boy said before walking away.
"You see, a lot of the villagers don't like me and attack me. You'll be in danger if you're around me." Naruto said.
"Do you know why they hate you?" Sakura asked.
"No, they always call me a demon and treat me like garbage. Even when I was in the orphanage, they ignored me and a few years ago, I was kicked out of the orphanage. I don't want you to be hated because of me." Naruto said.
Sakura hugged the boy and comforted him. "Thanks for looking out for me but I don't mind being your friend. Hey, I got an idea. We can have a secret meeting place and meet there in secret. That way we can be friends."
Naruto's eyes widened with hope. "Are you sure? What if we were caught?"
"Well, we have to keep it a secret until we're genin. Once we're genin, we're technically adults and anyone who attacks us will be punished because of the law." Sakura said.
"Good idea, also when we're in the academy. You should pretend you don't know me and hate me. To make it more believable." Naruto suggested.
"Huh, are you sure?" Sakura asked, receiving a nod from the blonde. "Ok, if you're sure. I'll see you later." Sakura said, running ahead. Naruto walked towards the academy and even though he was excited, he was afraid that his instructors were going to hate him. 'At least I have Sakura.' When Naruto made it to the class, the first thing he noticed was that the instructor wasn't there. He looked around the class and walked up the stairs.
"Hey, are you that fox freak?" Naruto turned to the boy who asked the question and he had a puppy on his head. "My sister said a fox monster was joining my class and going by your stench, i say it's you."
"That's right, you're Naruto Uzumaki. My daddy told me you were dangerous." a girl with blonde hair said. Soon most of the class start to mumble about the jinchuuriki.
"You may sit here." Naruto turned to the voice and it was a boy with shades. "I don't mind."
Naruto gave a small smile and sat next to him. "Thanks, my name is Naruto Uzumaki."
"Shino Aburame." the boy said.
"Wow, I heard of that clan. You use ninjutsu with bugs." Naruto said. "Pretty cool."
"Thank you, I'm glad you don't see me as a disgusting individual like most of the village." the boy responded.
"Alright settle down." Naruto turned forward and saw two chunin instructors walking in. "My name is Iruka and my assistant is Mizuki. We will be in charge of this class and I will help you get ready to become genin." Iruka said, looking around at his students. When his eyes landed on Naruto, he glared at him. Mizuki followed his sight and saw the blonde, and narrowed his eyes at him but unknown to the two, Naruto could sense their hatred.
'I can't believe the problem child is here. Damn.' Iruka thought.
'The kyuubi brat, I hope he doesn't think he'll have a fun time.' Mizuki thought with an evil smirk. Naruto slammed his head on the desk in annoyance
Hiruzen was at the meeting with the clan heads and the council. For some strange reason, Koharu decided to call the meeting. "Why was I called here?"
"We heard that our jinchuuriki started the academy today. Why did you risk putting him in the same class as most of the clan heirs? He should be isolated." Homura asked.
"Why ask a stupid question?" Hiruzen responded. "You look at him as a threat but that's because you're afraid. But how can we be the strongest village if our jinchuuriki is weak? And before you say anything, having Danzo train the boy is not an option. Jinchuuriki relies on emotions to use the bijuu chakra and having him a part of root will not help."
"Then we should Isolate him." Koharu said.
"Again, another bad idea. We want him to be loyal, if he's alone, he won't trust anyone and will probably attempt to leave. You're just naive and letting your emotions control you." Hiruzen said.
"Well I don't feel comfortable letting him near my daughter. If he loses control, he could be in danger." Inoichi said.
"I agree, Hinata is already infatuated with the boy and if she grows close to him, it'll look bad on me." Hiashi added.
"How could you say that, Naruto-kun is the reason we're alive." Hiruzen said.
"That thing you call a boy should be executed before he transforms to his true form." a random councilman said.
"I say we keep an eye on him and if he loses control, I say you give him to me to train. We should put it to a vote." Danzo said.
Hiruzen thought about it. "I'll agree to it but ONLY if I'm involved with his training. I don't trust you Danzo and I'm not going to act like I do. If I find any loyalty seals on him, I'll kill you." Hiruzen threatens, causing Danzo to seethe.
"Fine, I'll agree to your terms." Danzo said.
"If that's all, this meeting is adjourned." Hiruzen said before leaving.
"Finally, today is over." Naruto said as he walked through the village. He expected his sensei's to be against but Iruka wasn't sabotaging him like Mizuki but he did ignore him and dismissed him every chance he got. Not only that but Shino and Sakura were the only friends he made, even though Sakura had to pretend to hate him for now on. When Naruto made it to his and Anko's apartment, he noticed the door was opened and when he walked inside, he saw a light on in the bedroom and approached it slowly.
"You're finally back." Kurenai said, sitting on the bed, with Hana next to her. "We need to talk."
Naruto narrowed his eyes at the two kunoichi. "We have nothing to talk about."
"You don't get to decide that. Now we're only going to say this once, when Anko gets back, we want you to stay away from her or else." Hana said with a growl.
"Or else, what? I didn't force her to be my friend and I didn't do anything wrong." Naruto said.
"Please, you turned Anko against us. She hates us because of you." Kurenai said.
"Yeah right, she was mad because your narrow minded ass hated me for no reason. I never did anything to you or the village. No matter how nice I try to be, I get treated like a plague. The village calls me a monster but guess what, the grown ups are the ones attacking an innocent kid because of some fear or grudge." Naruto said, making the two girls seethed.
"I guess we have to give you a warning." Kurenai said before going through some hand signs. Naruto got scared and soon, vines grew out the floor and wrapped around.
'Genjutsu!' Naruto thought and tried to cancel it. But it was canceled by the courtesy of Hana elbowing him and sending him out the door. Naruto collected himself in the air and landed on his feet. He looked ahead and saw Kurenai jumping down towards and kicking him. Naruto blocked but skidded back.
"This could end if you leave Anko alone." Kurenai said.
"Why? I never would hurt her. What have I ever done to you?" Naruto asked.
"You're dangerous, that's all you need to know. Just stay away and everything will be fine." Hana added.
"For you, but I'll be alone again. Anko is all I have, she's my most precious person." Naruto said, crying.
"If you care about her, you'll stay away." Kurenai said.
"Fine but when she comes back, I'll let her know what happened today." Naruto said, making the two chunin worried. "If she decides to be friends with you after what you did, fine. But you don't get a clean slate."
"He's right." The three turned to see Yugao glaring at the girls. "Naruto is not dangerous, you two are cowards."
"How could you say that, he even smells like it." Hana said. Naruto was confused on what she meant but Yugao drew her sword and pointed it at the chunin.
"Let me tell you this, I will protect this boy with my life and if you two try to harm him. I'll kill you." Yuugao said, releasing some ki. "After all, he's her heir."
Kurenai narrowed her eyes on her former friend. "It seems he's manipulating you. Fine, but when you see how dangerous he is, I'll be ready for an apology." Kurenai and Hana left the two alone. Yugao sheathed her sword and turned to the blonde.
"Are you ok, Naruto-kun." Yugao asked.
"Y-yeah, thanks for saving me." Naruto said, bowing.
"No problem, how about you stay with me to make sure you're safe until Anko-chan comes back." Yugao as she led Naruto back to her house.
