Arizona sighs as she closes up the last file and hands it off to the Commander to look at. Stretching her back and getting on her feet she waves goodbye to him as well as gives him a warning with a very obvious threat to take care of Sylina before leaving.

Walking to the day care center her eyes drifted to the location of the Marine Corp Air Station. Stopping her walk only at crosswalks. Her thoughts drifted to her daughters. Naomi was assigned to Enterprise after the tragic sinking of Yorktown and Hornet and she couldn't stop it. Her triplets who were supply barges that had to be tugged around to there duty stations close to the front. And lastly her daughter Phoenix was currently conducting combat trials with her PCS rigging and ship trials due to the nature of her manifestation not being normal.

To say seeing her daughters growing up fast was an understatement. The people that passed her raised an eyebrow at her rather unique way of walking. She was very withdrawn. Not very talkative with only a few exceptions. Placing a hand on her arm she would pull it close to her as she felt eyes on her from the local populess. However that sense of dread vanished when she heard Ruth ran out of the day care doors. Arizona smiles as she felt the young girl cling to her leg.

"Emma, did you miss me? Did you miss me!?" She said excitedly.

"Of course I did," Arizona replied.

Kneeling down and giving Ruth a hug. A sigh of relief escaping her lips rubbing her daughters back. She then looks to her friend Emily and waves to her.

"Afternoon Ari. Don't worry about signing her out. Go and have a good rest of your day."

Chuckling, she nods as she picks up Ruth and starts walking to the dock. Ruth happily held her mother's hand with her right hand and hugged her Liger 0 toy close to her chest. Eventually they were close to Phoenix's dock area when Arizona noticed something strange. She started to notice fires alongside the port. The smell of smoke entered her nose. The ocean in the port started turning black as friendly aircraft flew over them. Her breathing started to become labored as infront of her the concrete sidewalk turned into the wood of her old ships deck.

Her eyes wide as she saw the gray planes slowly turn white with the rising sun painted on their tails officers and personnel in the utilities sweeping and mopping the deck. Gun fire went off as 20mm rounds rip limbs and holes through the officers and personal standing in front of them. She couldn't move as she saw herself pull her daughter to the side behind a AA battery for cover. Using her body as a shield for Ruth in case the 20mm rounds wasn't stopped by the armor and interior of the AA guns implacement.

Her eyes widened as she saw herself pick up Ruth who still held onto her toy running away from the Zeros that continued to strafe the deck. Dropping bombs and torpedoes. Thankfully Nevada got away from her berthings and strolled up next to Vestal. There AA guns shooting down the enemy aircraft. One of the men aboard Vestal's ship used whatever they could to make makeshift gangplanks so the men of the Arizona could evacuate from the now listing battleship. The bombs and torpedoes so fast and quick had rendered her ship inoperable.

However the forward magazine was set ablaze. The smell of cooking off power charges present. Arizona had to place her daughter down on the gangplank and told her to run. Ruth was afraid, her eyes full of tears as the explosions and gunfire around them caused her to fear leaving her mother. Arizona told her she would be right behind her. Getting on the gangplank herself and Ruth seeing that immediately believed her mother and ran to the other side. The men of the vestal using their own AA guns to ward off the Zeros and Vals, thankfully no Mobile suits showed up as there Zaku lls would have most likely made this a even deadlier blood bath.

The men of the Vestal helping Ruth by encouraging her to run to them. Arizona followed closely behind as the Vestals crew even started throwing rope across to help evac faster and orderly. Then a Zero would get past the AA screen of both Nevada and Vestal. Ruth would get to the deck of Vestal however the rounds wrecked the gangplank and Arizona jumped onto a rope. She quickly started trying to climb across. Then another Zero would conduct a pass. And a bullet would snap the rope she was on causing her to smack into the side of Vestal.

She then started climbing up however she felt nauseous and concussed. But she powered through it to climb. Only for a third enemy aircraft to conduct a pass. Shooting the rope Arizona was on. Her eyes widened as Ruth saw her mother falling into the ocean beneath them.

It was after that did Ruth poked her mother's side. Causing Arizona to snap out of her panic attack. Her breathing steadied, taking gulps of air trying to get precious oxygen into her lungs like a person who was at first drowning.

"Emma?" Ruth pipped up. "Emma?"

"Yes sweetheart?" Arizona replied.

"Can you tell me how you met Abba?" She innocently asked.

"Maybe at bedtime sweetie." Arizona smiles.

They then see a golden colored PCS fly over them and hover in Phoenix's berthing. Then in a flash of light the rigging started to expand and change in color. From golden to dark gray, the hull of a heavy cruiser starts to form. It looked like the turrets were made with the future of warfare in mind.

And when it was done taking form a girl with red firey hair appeared on top of a triple barrel turret. She then beams with a smile and jumps down right in front of them. Giving Arizona a hug and then giving Ruth a hug.

"Hey guys" she said.

"So big sis how did your trials go!?" Ruth asked jumping excitedly.

"Well I almost beat big sis Naomi on the clearing grounds. Well... only by 3 seconds." She sheepishly chuckled. "And I may or may not have destroyed a lot of 5"38s..."

Arizona breathes heavily while pinching the bridge of her nose.

"Just...don't be reckless, your half Kan-Son so you need to be in the water most of the time." Arizona reminded.

Phoenix sighs but nods.

"I know I know, in all honesty Emma the war seems to be slowing down so I may not be needed till like down the line for a while."

Arizona sighs.

"I know I know it's just..."

Phoenix placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Mom. I know you're worried. You handle all the paperwork and I know you're concerned about the amount of material being sent to the front. But look, we have more than enough ships in the fleet and I'm still conducting trials. It would be a while before I'm even combat ready. Just take a breath. Let's go home. I'll cook dinner too."

To which Arizona rose a eyebrow.

"Last time you cooked me and Ruth almost had death from within."

Phoenix fanied being hurt at her poor cooking skills which caused them all to laugh.

Arizona entered Ruth's room and saw that she was playing with her Liger 0. Hearing the door open Ruth smiles and gets under the covers with her toy right next to her. Arizona would properly tuck her into bed and kissed her head goodnight. However before she leaves Ruth spoke up.

"Hey Emma?"

"Yes Ruth?"

"Can you tell me a bedtime story?"

Arizona nods.

"Sure, what would you like to hear?"

"Can you tell me how you meet Abba like you promised?"

Arizona smiles as she pulls a chair from Ruth's desk and sits next to her bed.

"Sure"

December 7th, 1919

It was a snowy day at the base, I it was fives months after my manifestation. It was a general purpose military sight that had people from all over the US and from all the branches of the military. However one man caught my eye. He was a quite person opting to keep to himself then talk amongst the other scientists and military personnel. Dr.Anzeel told me he was a Marine that fought in Bellwood. I asked her what that meant and she replied with.

"It was one of the many greatest military victorys in the Great War. However they lost a lot of good men in those wheat fields. He saw tanks and how they where a step in the right direction for the future of warfare however seeing that they where slow and broke down a lot more then where actually a help on the battlefield he's been trying to make something that would make tanks immediately obsolete but exclusively for the Marines. I honestly get where he's coming from. Thought good luck trying to get a word out of him. He only talks to his fellow Marines and even then it's when it's to talk to a superior."

In all honesty I would have dismissed your father entirely if I hadn't turned around and accidentally bumped into him almost immediately. I fell to the floor and he immediately asked if I was ok.

"Oh I'm fine."

I tried to get up on my own only to see a hand. I took it and he pulled me up.

"Are you sure you're alright?" He asked.

"Yes I'm quite alright sorry about that I didn't see where I was going."

"No no it was my fault for trying to get past you in a hurry."

I didn't know it at the time but it was thanks to that accident that would begin a long relationship in the making. However what felt odd was that his hands where rather warm to hold, gentle even. Despite Dr.Anzeel saying he was a battle harden veteran of the Great War. He seemed to have a gentle nature to him. We both then realized that he was holding my hand to long and immediately let go gently.

"Sorry." He said as his cheeks tinted a little.

"No no it's quiet alright."

He then rubbed the back of his head with embarrassment. He... clearly was a shy individual which Anzeel confirmed as much because he looked like he never talked to another person in a casual manner. Opting to go on to his work he was about to walk away when.

"Excuse me whats your name?" I asked.

"Duron, Duron Tannin." He replied confused as to why I asked. "What's yours Miss?"

"Arizona. Nice to meet you."

"As in...like the State?"

I nodded.

"Huh, intriguing name." He said aloud with a tilt to his head.

However he had to get back to work and waved goodbye. Something within me felt warm in my chest. I thought it was simply my Wisdom Cube fluctuating because I was the first of our kind and Dr.Anzeel was still ironing out the kinks. We would meet at the chow hall a lot more while we where at the base. I got to know him a lot better and found out a lot about him.

His parents immigranted from Palestine due to some discrimination against them for being Jews. So they moved to California back in 1900 where he was born in Port Hueneme. His father worked at the port while his mother was a teacher at a local school house. Thought every once Ina while they would sail to Europe to meet with some friends and family in Great Britain who had immigranted prior to them. However due to his mother being pregnant with his sister at the time his father was aboard the Lusitania when a U-boat sunk it. His father drowned trying to save some children pinned under some heavy objects. The children lived but he was then cut off by the flooding.

He was 15 years old then and had to get a job at a automotive shop to support his mother and then baby sister. Then in 1917, he joined the war much against his mother's word in the Marine Corp. Where he of course took part in the battle of Belleau Wood. He... didn't want to talk about it much. And I understood. It was at the base before the main battle that he saw British tanks and had tried to learn as much as he could about them and the idea of there use at the time. It was after...the experiences at Belleau and the idea of tanks that he got the idea for what would become the Personal Combat Suits. They'd be cheaper but more effective alternatives for tanks. He was working on the prototypes at the time which was why he was there.

He wanted something to protect his fellow Marines to avoid the casualties they had suffered at that battle. And it was that want to protect his friends and military family that had me. I fell in love with him almost like in a fairy tale. However it was his experience in Belleau Wood that would almost strain his relationship between us. In fact the war itself seemed to have made some sort of distance between us. But I simply let him slowly tell me what he experienced there. Hoping and praying that another war wouldn't happen like what had happened back then. I listened, I didn't talk when he spoke about it, I cried when he cried, I laughed when he told something funny that did happen.

Simply put, I liked the idea of him. But I couldn't really love in in the time of thought I did. Thought I was patient, I even took up to visiting him when he was working and making lunch for him. He always appreciated it because he seemed to love my sandwiches. He would go out of his way to visit me after maintenance and check ups making sure I was ok after each time because of how new Kan-Son were. Eventually he fell in love with me. Then we decided to date and enjoy eachothers company. Both on the quiet moments, and in the moments when we got angry with one another because of something not communicated well. We made up and apologized to one another.

On November 11th. 1922, it was actually the day prior to his projects major stress tests before whether or not his PCS riggings would be adopted. He told me how was excited about how I wasn't going to be alone, because more Kan-Son where being made. And his project was coming along however if it failed it would mean we might not see eachother again. Not unless he was stationed on my ship. He wanted to be with me, because no one but other veterans of the great war could seem to bring out the best in him that I also could do. And he loved my company, my smile, and my bright soul. It reminded him of his mother and sister. And I even got to meet them thanks to some strings that Dr.Anzeel managed to pull.

He then got on one knee and pulled out a small box. And inside of it was a ring, he then asked me if I would marry him. I jumped into his arms and said yes. And sense then we where married.

"He of course stayed in the Marine Corp, and well you know the rest."

Arizona smiles, gently brushing the hair out of Ruth's face. Ruth was asleep, snoring away with a smile on her cheeks. Arizona would give her a kiss on the head and quietly say goodnight before closing her door. She would look down at her hand and see the ring on her finger. She felt a ping in her heart, and closed her ring hand with her non ring hand. Holding it close to her chest. Tears starting to flow. However she then felt a different presence that overroad her feelings of loneliness. Feeling this she looks about confused only to here a gentle voice speak to her.

"Your not alone, I'm always with you and your family."

She smiles and wipes away her tears as she looked to her right. A cross on the wall right over the picture of her wedding day, her arm and hand interlocked with Durons. She smiles as she read what her mother in law spoke at there toast in the banquet full of cheer and warmth. As there life was all over the walls, furthered by more pictures of her family. Her mother in laws words being ever gentle and sweeter than the richest honey.

"Remember my children, give not thy strength to women, nor thy ways that destroy a King. For it is not for Kings, O'Leumel, it is not for Kings to Drink wine. Nor for princes strong drink. Lest they drink and forget the law and pervert the judgement of the afflicted. Give strong drink to him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those with heavy hearts. Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands. She is like the merchants' ships; she bringeth her food from afar. She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens. She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night. She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff. She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet. She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Arizona felt her heart renewed at her mother in laws old but wise words, and she slept peacefully that night. Without a night terror the entire night.
