ATWN: Chapter 14

Naomi and Carter were both dashing over to the entrance as fast as they could, only for them to come across the three Eds next to a whale-shaped trailer home! They could also see the Kanker Sisters were here (who had Kevin, Nazz, and Rolf tied up) as well as Sarah, Jimmy, and Rolf's pig Wilfred, who was eating some old corndogs on the ground a bit further away. The only person absent from this scene was Jonny 2x4, and the Kankers were flirting with the Eds at this moment. Naomi smiled in relief at them, even to the sisters (sort of), seeing that everyone was okay from whatever happened to them… Well, she was sure Jonny was safe elsewhere, knowing how much of a loner he could be.

Naomi and Carter soon ran over to the group of teens, "Hey, you guys! Thank goodness you're alright!" Naomi called out to them with happiness, "My brother and I were looking all over the fairgrounds for you!"

Everyone turned to see Naomi running over to them, much to their surprise that she even found them there, "Hai Naomi!" Ed greeted with a wave of his arms like he always does. The Kankers were not exactly pleased to see her, especially May.

It was both Double D and Eddy who noticed the two heads that were absent from the scene, "… Naomi, where are Lily and Amelia?" Double D asked with a bit of worry, ignoring the jealous stare that Marie was giving him when he asked that.

"They went out on their own to find you three around here this morning…" Naomi replied before looking to her brother beside her, "Oh, umm, I had to babysit my brother Carter this weekend, so I brought him over here after explaining things to him. But everyone was gone when we got to the Cul-De-Sac…"

"And for good reason too!" Kevin yelled as he freed his arm from the restraints he had, trying to grab onto Eddy's ankle to drag him over to punch him, "These freaking DORKS did a scam that destroyed the Lane AND hurt a lot of us in the aftermath! They need a REAL good pounding as punishment for what they did!"

"N-No, wait!" Eddy gasped before eyeing the whale-shaped trailer home in front of them, "I wouldn't do that if I were you! Or else my big bro would come and pummel you too!"

Everyone widened their eyes to the three Eds at what Eddy said, "Your brother?!" they gasped.

That was when Eddy quickly turned to the front door of the whale trailer, knocking on it as he did. It only took a few seconds for Eddy's brother to open the door, all of them oblivious to the fact of what happened earlier this morning, "The park doesn't open till noon, kids."

He was still possessed by the strange entity from before (but was hiding its appearance by making his eyes normal once more) and had his two hostages tied up on his couch. Amelia and Lily were both bound by their hands and ankles with rope and had bandannas wrapped around and over their mouths, preventing them from screaming or calling for help. Sadly, Eddy's brother did not open his door wide enough for anyone on the outside to see them.

Eddy made a very big smile to the man, "I told you guys! My bro's a wiz at telling time!" he said excitedly.

Amelia and Lily widened their eyes at the familiar voice they heard, 'Oh my god, they made it here in time!' Amelia thought with relief before she tried to get out of her restraints once again, so she could get their attention somehow, 'I need to get to them NOW! They're in so much danger!'

Lily, in the meantime, was working very hard on trying to get the pocket knife to cut the rope around her wrists. She had taken out the pocketknife from her back pocket while Eddy's brother was busy tying up Amelia earlier. Thankfully, he did not notice that she had it; she had it hidden when he was tying her up. Lily began to try and cut her binds about an hour ago and was now very close to finishing the cut she was doing.

Eddy's brother walked out of his house, only leaving the door cracked very slightly, enough for Amelia and Lily to hear everyone that was outside. Eddy started conversing with his brother on how the other kids were trying to beat him and his friends up. Kevin, Nazz, and Rolf were now untied at this point as well, thanks to Sarah and Jimmy.

"… Heh, still causing trouble back home, aren't you?" Eddy's brother said to him as he gave Eddy a nudge, trying to play along for a moment before doing anything to him and his friends.

Amelia began to panic more and more as every second passed by; her heart felt like it was going to burst out of her chest, 'Dammit, why do I have to be so USELESS right now?!' she thought to herself, closing her eyes as a few tears started to form on the brim of them, 'Guys, you need to RUN!'

"Hey Alexander, you wanna play Uncle? For old times' sake?"

Eddy froze at his brother's words before making a confused face at what he called him; his brother would usually call him by his name or something like Pipsqueak, but he said a different name just now, "Huh? Alex…?"

The rest of the Cul-De-Sac kids had already backed away in fright at this point. Naomi could sense something was wrong, "Carter, please stay right here with the other kids, okay?" She whispered to her brother before coming over to the Eds side.

That was when Eddy's brother picked Eddy up by his arm before tossing him into the side of his trailer, with him bouncing off it like he was a rubber ball back to his brother. It was when Eddy hit the side of the trailer the first time that Lily's pocketknife finally finished cutting through the bindings on her wrist! The impact of Eddy hitting the outside wall helped her push through the last bit of rope to cut!

"M-Mr. Eddy's brother! Stop this madness, please!" Double D gasped at the sight, trying to stop this man from hurting his friend. He continued to toss Eddy like a ball before stopping for a moment, turning to Double D with a glare, "Oh yeah? What are you gonna do about it, Dimitri?"

Everyone looked on at the scene as Ed and Naomi ran over to Eddy's side, making sure he was okay. Eddy was seeing stars and had swirls in his eyes, but he was fine, for the most part.

'D-Dimitri?' Double D thought to himself before making a small glare at the man in front of him, "My name is Eddward, not Dimitri. A-And I'm asking you nicely to st—"

Before he could finish his sentence, Double D felt the man grab onto his beanie, causing him to hold onto the brim of his hat for dear life; not wanting anyone to see the scar underneath he was hiding. Everyone widened their eyes as the man tossed Double D down to the ground next to Eddy, Ed, and Naomi.

"You've all got spunk in this new life! That's so refreshing to see!" Eddy's brother said with a hearty laugh.

"Double D!" Ed and Naomi yelled as Double D landed next to them, skidding across the grass as he did. Double D was still holding onto his beanie, even when he landed next to his friends. Thankfully, it looked like he was not hurt from the throw. Both he and Eddy quickly got back to their feet a few seconds later, with Eddy still feeling a little dizzy.

"Now then…" Eddy's brother started to say as he cracked his knuckles to the kids around him.

That was when everyone could see a dark aura started to form around Eddy's brother, the whites of his eyes were all that they could see now, "Let's actually end this dumb charade, shall we?"

The dark shadow that had entered the man earlier this morning began to phase out of his body, morphing into a shadowy figure that was about the same height as Eddy's brother. The man he was possessing then collapsed on the ground behind the shadow, unconscious. Everyone could see the shadowy figure in front of them; it looked extremely different than anything they had ever seen before, even to Naomi. Its presence did not match the style of this world at all, not even the girl's world!

The shadow chuckled at the teens, "Surprised, are you not?" the figure asked in a very distorted male voice, "It's truly pathetic to see you all in this state, not knowing about what's going on…"

Eddy widened his eyes in terror and his whole body grew pale, almost making his eyes as big as dinner plates, 'I-It's the shadow from ALL my nightmares! He's the one that… T-That…!'

Suddenly, the door to the whale trailer slammed open, "GUYS!"

Everyone turned to see Lily and Amelia there at the front door of the trailer; they had just freed themselves, "Please, w-we need to get away from him!" Lily yelled at the teens there.

"Lily?!" Double D gasped in surprise.

"That guy isn't your brother, Eddy! Someone or something was controlling his body!" Amelia shouted to Eddy in desperation, "We gotta run! NOW!"

The shadowy figure began to howl in laughter, "Wow, you two got out of the ropes I bound you with faster than I expected! I'm very impressed!"

Lily and Amelia quickly ran over to the Eds and Naomi. Lily embraced Double D in a hug as soon as she got there, much to everyone's surprise (and to Marie's jealousy).

Amelia was by Eddy's side, "Eddy, you're hurt! Are you okay?!" she asked him, trying to fully get his attention by gripping his shoulders. Eddy seemed to be frozen in fear from something, whether it was from his older brother, the shadowy figure, or both. Amelia could not tell, "Eddy, you gotta talk to me!"

"I-I…" Eddy stuttered to himself. The grip Amelia had on his shoulders felt the same as in his nightmares; it was almost like everything he saw was playing out now, frame by frame!

The shadowy figure slowly began to walk over to the three Eds and girls, "Twenty-eight years… I've waited for this moment," the figure started to say to them, "For the chance to take care of you six, once and for all!"

The shadowy figure started to extend his arm out to Amelia, forming a small, shadowy blade shaped like a knife in his hand. The figure was going to strike her with it!

Eddy immediately noticed what the figure was doing; his heart almost stopped, "AMELIA!" he suddenly cried as he pulled her into a hug, facing his back to the shadow to shield Amelia. This came as a complete shock to everyone there, especially to Amelia.

Before anyone could comment on Eddy or about the shadowy figure approaching them, everyone heard the loud sound of a honking horn from a city bus. They turned to see a bus barreling toward them before parking in front of the Eds and the girls while also running over the shadowy figure, making him dissipate from sight like a mist of some kind, "Oh, god DAMMIT!" They heard the shadow shout in anger before fully evaporating. The city bus had run over the shadow, making him disappear.

The door of the bus began to open as Jonny 2x4 came jumping out of the bus with Plank. They were both dressed as Captain Melonhead and Splinter the Wonderwood.

His arrival was very much a tonal whiplash from what was happening a few seconds ago.

"Fear not, citizens! Captain Melonhead has arrived!" Jonny said to everyone, striking a heroic pose with Plank as he did.

"… Wow, Jonny actually helped for once?" Jimmy questioned with amazement.

"Who saw that coming?" Sarah stated nonchalantly.

Jonny looked to the Eds with a glare, not knowing any of the context that just happened a moment ago, "Your days are numbered, Scammers!"

Jonny was about to jump over the Eds to attack them before being stopped by Rolf, who grabbed him by his feet from the air before he got to them, "Hold your horses, Melon-Boy-Jonny!" Rolf started to say before grabbing the back of his shirt collar after letting go of his feet, "The Ed-Boys have been pardoned!"

"… HUH?!" Kevin, Sarah, and Jimmy yelled out at what Rolf said, "What the heck, Rolf!" Kevin barked at him in anger, "No they haven't!"

Kevin felt a hand very lightly slap the back of his head, "Kev, that's enough!" Nazz started to shout a little, gesturing to the Eds and the girls; she could see that some of them were shaking in terror or frozen in shock from what just happened, even Eddy tried to shield Amelia from whatever was about to happen, "Reel it in a little, dude. It's pretty clear that something weird's going on here that we don't know about."

"B-But—!"

"We'll try to think about a punishment for the Eds later, okay?" Nazz continued to say, "I get it, we were all angry then, including myself because of my appearance now. But let's ALL chill out for a short moment."

Kevin made a small growl before looking at the Eds again, along with the girls beside them (mostly Amelia), giving a heated sigh of defeat to calm himself down. Nazz was right, any sort of yelling right now is not going to make things better.

Carter finally came running over to his sister and her friends, seeing that the immediate danger had passed, "Nami, what just happened?!" he asked Naomi.

"I think we can help explain that for you."

Everyone suddenly jumped at the new voice, looking towards the direction of the beach to see who spoke. What they saw stunned everyone there.

There were six older teens in their presence, three boys and three girls; all around the ages of 16, 17, and 18. All six of them looked extremely different from how this world looked, and even vastly different from how the girl's world looked. They were all wearing various pieces of armor and clothing that looked like they belonged to a fantasy era, even having different weapons in sheathes that were on their sides! Naomi, Lily, and Amelia could see that Lynn was also standing alongside them like she had guided the six new teens to them.

The girls could immediately tell what kind of world these six teens were from; if the three of them lived in the real world, and the Eds lived HERE in this cartoon world… "W-What do you MEAN there's a third world that's just a fantasy anime?!"

Everyone turned to Naomi with many of them looking at her in sheer confusion at what she blurted out.

"Don't worry about that right now," stated the older teen who looked to be the oldest and the leader. He looked around for a second, "Let's walk towards the beach nearby, where other people won't hear our conversation. Come on."

Author's Note (January 13th, 2024): OH SHIIIT! Now the plot has become FULL isekai. This explains why the girls were transported and why the white doors appeared; MAGIC! I'm just embracing the cringe at this point, sorry!

I also noticed a character get hit by a vehicle in this chapter as I'm revealing this story to be like this. Hilarious.

By the way, the 'anime' world isn't based on any sort of actual anime. It's just an "original" and random fantasy world that plays a role in why this is all happening. These six teens from that world are also important, by the way. I'll say their names and write down what they look like next chapter. Stay tuned to see what that purpose is!
