Choo Kar Mere Maan Ko S1 E101
Alternative Ending (How It Should Have Been)
Mishka Bashing, Suraj Bashing.
"None of you understand!" shouted Suraj, enraged. "The Great Mother Labanya Sengupta isn't great at all! She lied to me for years, kept me in the dark about my own daughter! I can't be here anymore, I won't be here anymore. In fact, it will be me who leaves this house."
Deepa couldn't take his wallowing any longer. "Shut up, you ridiculous idiot. We're shooting a drama? You're the real drama fanatic here. Why are you making such a big deal out of nothing?"
"Nothing?!" shouted Suraj. Deepa was too angered to care. "Yes! If you remember, it was MY baby daughter that was stolen by your mother. If anything, I should be the one shouting. You were given a child by your mother. Why are you screaming if I was the one who should be screaming?!"
"And how is this a good reason to abuse your parents like this? Shut up and sit down if you're going to act like a child, Suraj." Deepa sneered. "You're so ridiculous. It's always something new with you. A new day, a new accusation. Is it fun? Hurting your family like this? Pathetic," Deepa scolded. "Roopa and Sona are more mature than you! You disloyal man!"
Suraj, being a complete nutcase by this point, kept repeating himself. He was simply allergic to logic. "You two probably planned it all. Stop lying, Deepa."
Deepa was fed up. "Always saying the same thing. Okay, if you love medical science, don't you? Then, take a paternity test for Roopa and Sona. You are the father of my children, Suraj!"
The whole room was shocked. "Deepa?" asked Pratik in confusion. "Are you sure?" asked Urmi and Joy.
But Deepa was furious and stared into her gullibe husband's eyes. "Yes. Since he wants to slander my name so much, let's prove it once and for all."
"For the record, I have never slept with Kabir. He is a married man, and the idea is so ridiculous it is laughable. Tell me, Suraj. Why do you think I did so?"
"Of course you did!" shouted Suraj, crazy as always. (I really hate that guy!)
"I didn't. You see, the truth is, it was Mishka who told you that. Like always, that woman is always lying about my conduct. And you always believe her. Why? Don't you think it's strange how she is always there at all hours day and night to tell you things she "discovered" about me? Hm?"
Suraj responded weakly, "She's just my best friend! Of course she does that because she cares about me!"
Deepa replied. "So it's fine for you to have a female best friend, but you instantly get angry if I say hello to Kabir? Me, who has never given you any reason to doubt?"
"Our relationship isn't like that!"
"So you say. See, Roopa, Sona - this is why your father won't accept you. He's already found a new wife!" Deepa revealed.
The room was shocked. "Brother, you and Mishka? Gross! Is this true?!" shouted Joy.
Suraj was filled with anger. "No, no, no! I am not in a relationship with that woman!"
"Yet you spend day and night together, you meet in her house, and most importantly: You let her slander your wife, your daughters, your mother and your father. Think about it. Did your pain start before or after speaking with Mishka? How many times does she give you 'advice' or insults about your family? And you don't care."
Suraj said nothing. Deepa took a deep breath and said: "To be honest Suraj, the only reason I'm still married to you is for the kids. If we were to talk about love, in my heart, it's all dried up."
Suraj jumped for joy. "Aha! Because of Kabir! I was right! You cheated on me!"
Deeps gave him an unimpressed stare. "No, because of you. You're a loser. You have a horrible victim mentality, and you don't care about the children. Two minutes ago, you belittled them by saying you have no one. You're just...a complete embarrassment."
Urmi piped in, "Honestly. I'm actually embarrassed to have loved you before. You're just too easy to fool."
Every day, you show your angry face to your family, terrorizing them. They all jump into the air to placate you. Who are you? A King? No, you're just a spoiled idiotic boy." The vitriol was clear in Deepa's words.
"You have made me endure so much pain. You lied to me before we married. You said you would protect me, that my years of endurance would be over. The moment we got married, you became my biggest opponent. All because of your stupidity!" Deepa shouted.
"Suraj, why don't you understand? Your best friend Mishka Sen...is in love with you!"
Time stood still for Suraj. Mishka? In love with him?
"Nonsense," he brushed her concern off. "You are so good at lying."
"She is not just in love with you, she is obsessed. That woman has attempted to hurt me so many times. I don't care about her attacks on myself. But when she hurts my children or your family, she has crossed a line and I won't forgive her!"
"So why don't we do both. Suraj, I'm being so honest here. I have no love for you. It's not because of Kabir, or because your family or whatever excuse your twisted mind makes. It's because of your disgusting attitude towards me. I want to never see you again for the rest of my life. I will take Roopa and Sona out of this house and raise them elsewhere. And I want you to go away from this house. Your misunderstandings have ruined their lives. You hate them, right? So leave!" Deepa roared.
Suraj couldn't take this insult. He grabbed her and shouted, "I am Suraj Sengupta! Who are you to tell me this?"
Deepa shouted back, "Your wife! When you married me, I gained the same rights as you. Don't test me, Suraj!"
A silence brewed. Then, Deepa said: "Suraj, I'm tired of this farce. If you want the truth about your daughters, take the paternity test. Take it 10, 30, 50 times. As many times as it takes for your little mind to comprehend the truth. And if you want to know if Mishka loves you, tell her you divorced me in front of everyone, that you realized she was the love of your life, and the children were carded away to an orphanage. Tell her that," Deepa muttered resolutely, "and then you will see the way her face will light up with joy. Look at her eyes; the way they only look at you. Then you will understand what I'm talking about."
Deepa took her children, left for the door before turning towards them all: "And when you figure out the truth, no matter how regretful you become, just know: Suraj Sengupta, we will never go back to how we used to be. From today on, you and I are strangers!"
Deepa left with two crying children. Labanya rushed to Suraj and said, "What are you doing?! She's serious about this! If you don't stop her, she really will..."
"Leave this family and Suraj for good." Urmi finished. "You cruel, stupid man, how could you do this to us?! Why does Deepa have to suffer?! She's suffered for 7 years, all because of an idiotic doctor like you! Loser! Scumbag! Wicked person!" Urmi hurled insult after insult.
Suraj fell into a deep sadness. His heart knew the truth; he loved Deepa and the kids. But he refused to acknowledge this, because he was afraid that Mishka was right. He stood up.
"As a last favor to my wife, I will do what she said. I wil be right anyway." he said as he exited the room, heading for the Hospital. Before he did, Anuja stopped him. "No."
"No?!" the rest repeated.
"No, you can't." Anuja said. "Suraj, these experiments need secrecy. We won't interfere in your quest for truth," she began, "as long as you never tell Mishka about it. You can't tell her, you can't show her, and you must get a servant to conduct these tests for you. You can hire somebody we don't know for optimal percentage of success. But if Mishka sees you sniffing around, she will use her words, her money, and her ambition to marry you to sway the results in her favor."
"Aunt, Mishka won't do that," he argued vaguely.
"She will. But do the test, and go to Mishka's house like Deepa said. The truth will reveal itself in time."
This time around, the extremely gullible Suraj Sengupta had no way of twisting the truth.
Mishka's execution date was drawing near.
