"Now, before we go in," Mr. X cautioned the witch, "I warn you, the sight you're about to see ain't pretty."

Darius nodded, his eyes not leaving the door leading to the interrogation room. The witch and human were in the temporary headquarters of the FBI, getting ready to talk to one Odalia Golddagger.

Mr. X looked at the door and sighed. He took a moment to steady his nerves and then opened the door. Darius frowned when he saw the state of the ex-CEO.

Instead of her expensive and tailor-made outfits, Odalia was now wearing an orange prison jumpsuit. It wasn't the outfit that startled the witch; it was his former classmate's overall appearance. Odalia's once well-kept hair was now a mass, with loose strain hanging over her eyes and visible split ends.

There were large bags under the former CEO's eyes, and her skin had lost its healthy shine. Probably the most disturbing thing about Odalia was the deranged smile she gave Darius upon seeing him.

"Head Witch Darius," Odalia said in a sickly sweet voice. "To what do I owe the visit."

Darius cocked an eyebrow at this and looked at the human agent. X just sighed and gave him a "this a standard" look. The witch sighed and looked at the ex-businesswoman.

"I haven't gone by that title in months, Odalia," Darius said calmly.

The derangement in Odalia's smile seemed to grow tenfold as she stood. She tried to move, but her handcuffs were tied to the table. Still, she wasn't deterred as she continued to look at Darius with a deranged smile.

"Oh, no, no, no, no, no," Odalia said, erratically shaking her head. "Nothing has changed. You're still the head of the Abomination Coven, as my dear Mittens is still my perfect little daughter."

Darius nearly recoiled from Odalia's behavior and looked at X. The government agent sighed as he gestured to the door. The council member understood and followed X out, sparing a glance at the former CEO.

The agent led the witch to the observation room and then looked at Darius, his expression unreadable.

"You see now why I wanted you here?" X asked, clearly uncomfortable from their belief conversation with Odalia.

Darius nodded and then turned his attention to the witch in the other room. He frowned as he saw that Odalia had taken her seat and was looking at the door to the room in a relatively calm manner.

"...Yes, I do," Darius replied. "However, I wonder how much of it is just an act? Odalia had proven time and time again she's more clever than we suspected."

X nodded and looked through the window. The former CEO was now looking at her nails, inspecting something only she could see.

"That's why I wanted your input in this matter," X spoke seriously.

Darius sighed and looked at the human. "I don't think I will be much help," he replied. "I was never on good terms with the woman, even during our youth."

Darius had to use all his willpower to keep the disdain from his face as he remembered a particular time in his youth. He remembered after his parents had died, his boyfriend, Alador, wasn't there for him.

He would later learn that was because Odalia had the hack waiting on her hand and foot, all because she stumped her toe.

The former Coven Head shook his head to get rid of the old memories and look at X.

"...But, if there's one thing that hasn't changed about the woman, it's her ego," Darius said calmly.

"OWW," X replied, "Sounds like someone got a plan brewing."

Darius gave X a look that said it all. He then left the room, X following him. The two returned to the interrogation room, and Odalia's deranged smile returned.

"Why, hello again, you two," Odalia said in a sickly sweet tone. "I hope you had a good talk?"

Darius kept his face neutral as he walked up to the table and took a seat. Odalia kept smiling as the abomination witch looked her in the eyes.

"So, Odalia," Darius said calmly. "You think nothing has changed, right?"

Odalia didn't respond, though her smile seemed to grow more deranged.

"Well, I would like to tell you things are going great without your presence," Darius explained. "Did you know that your old company had moved away from weapon making?"

The right corner of Odalia's lip twitched ever so slightly, and Darius saw this.

"Why would that idiot move away from something he's good at?" Odalia asked, voice slightly strained.

"Because…" Darius said slowly, "That hack never wanted to make weapons. From the way it sounded, you twisted his arms until he began making weapons. But now he could make whatever he wants since he's no longer under your thumb."

"Well, good for him," Odalia replied, her voice becoming more strained.

Darius noticed the twitching in Odalia's lips was getting worse, and he nearly grinned.

"Then there's Amity," Darius continued, pride working its way into his voice. "With your influence gone, she's not only happy but also doing well in anything she wants. Yes, it seems she is doing fantastic without you in her life!"

Odalia suddenly screamed, making spell circles. The circle wasn't even completed before Odalia's magic fizzled out. Darius remained seated and watched as the former CEO looked at her hands, confused about why her magic wasn't working.

"You really don't think highly of anyone but yourself," Darius said flatly. "The demon realm gave anti-metal to Mister X. I figured that much would have been obvious. Now, I believe we're done here. Enjoy your sentence."

Darius stood up and walked out of the room with X as Odalia began to scream her head off.

"Darius! DARIUS! Don't walk away from me! Don't you know who I am? I'm Odalia Blight, and without me, my family is even more worthless than the Golddaggers! Do you hear me, Darius?"

Darius shook his head as he tuned out the mad woman's rant. X, however, frowned as he looked over his shoulder.

"Well, that happened?" he said awkwardly.

Darius let out a tired sigh and stopped. "...Yes. But we know that most of her behavior is mostly an act. But we can't deny that her mind is slipping."

X nodded and looked Darius in the eyes.

"But that leaves the question of what to do with her?" the USA agent wondered.

Darius looked at the door, sighed, and then back at X.

"For now, just keep her doing her community service and inform me of any changes in her behavior," the witch stated calmly.

X nodded, and the two made their way to the front of the building.
