The last chapter until I go on a short break from writing and read some fanfics!
I actually like how this turned out so I hope you like it.
Anyways, I don't own Naruto, that would be inhumane if I owned a person and it would most likely send me to jail. . .
THE HYUGA DINNER
After the incident with Mebuki, Naruto pushed it out of his mind and decided to finally join the Hyuga family for the dinner that Hiashi invited him to when he saved Hinata.
'That's right, he did invite me didn't he' Naruto thought as he remembered the event.
'"Thank you, Naruto. You should come eat with us sometime when we're not busy to properly thank you. We also know what you did last winter for Hinata, and so it would also be an apology for the trouble we caused," Hiashi said with a serious face'
When Naruto decided to get ready he realized that his clothes wouldn't work for such a fancy place like the Hyuga house.
'Crap! I don't have any fancy clothes for the dinner! The Hyugas are super fancy so I have to find some good clothes!'
Naruto then quickly got into his normal outfit and ran to the clothing store with Haruto.
Somewhere in the streets of Konoha, there was a meeting.
"I heard he is going out today" someone said.
"I heard that same information, do we attack?" Another voice asked.
"No, boss wouldn't like that, we'll only attack if we see him" a familiar voice replied.
-Back with Naruto-
"Alright!" Naruto said as he entered the store; he was quickly kicked out, literally, "Don't ever come back!" The owner shouted.
As Naruto rubbed his butt he silently cursed at the owner, "what do I do now?" Naruto said out loud.
"Naruto, why don't you look to your left and up?" Haruto said from the top of Naruto's head.
As Naruto looked in the given direction he saw the Hokages office breaking above all the buildings.
Naruto quickly got the idea, "of course! The old man has got to have some fancy clothes!" Naruto said to himself with a grin, "Thanks Haruto!"
He then ran to see the old Hokage, when he got there he entered the office without knocking and saw Hiashi Hyuga there.
'WHY OF ALL TIMES!'
Hiashi had eyes radiating with power that was almost blinding, his outfit screamed fancy! He was the ideal man to go by and yet if Naruto looked at himaelf he was just a kid who still hasn't showered and has to look through trash to get clothes, Naruto is the complete opposite of fancy, let alone Hiashi fancy.
Hiashi and Hiruzen seemed to be talking however, "It is important that we also prepare, Stone is already preparing and yet we have not" Hiashi told Hiruzen as he listened carefully.
It seemed they stopped their conversation when they realized Naruto had entered.
Hiruzen seemed a bit surprised while Hiashi looked a bit shocked, however Hiashi quickly regained his demeanor, "ah Naruto, I am looking forward to our dinner together, but if you excuse me I must go" Hiashi said seriously.
Hiashi then walked out of the room, leaving Hiruzen with Naruto.
'How did we not notice him?!'
When Naruto looked at Hiruzen, he seemed to be deep in thought; he quickly put his attention on Naruto, "What can I do for you, Naruto?" The old man asked while he stretched.
Naruto was pretty sure he heard a pop coming from his joints but he went back to the task at hand, "so you know how I am going to eat dinner with the Hyuga's tonight right?" Naruto asked with a nervous smile.
The old Hokage nodded which popped his neck, "and do you not have a fancy outfit or something?" Hiruzen asked while rubbing his recently popped neck.
Naruto was shocked that Hiruzen knew straight away but even more shocked by his joints and bones popping, "y-yeah, do you have any clothes I can use?" Naruto asked.
The old Hokage sighed and looked down which caused another pop, "I'm afraid not my boy, I haven't had to use fancy clothes other than my Hokage outfit, and I'm sure you don't fit into it" Hiruzen said.
Naruto was a bit disappointed and a bit surprised by that fact, 'Wait so if I fit into it will I be able to wear it?'
Naruto then used the transformation Jutsu and became as tall as Hiruzen.
As the smoke cleared, it revealed a taller Naruto, "So will I be able to wear it now?" Naruto asked with a smirk.
Hiruzen deadpanned to the thought of Naruto wearing the Hokage outfit and gave a clear answer, "No." Hiruzen quickly said without changing any facial expressions or changing his tone of voice.
Naruto let go of the transformation and left the office.
'What a shame, I'm sure he'll be able to wear the Hokage outfit when he's older.'
Naruto was now even more nervous, 'What do I do now?!' he thought but then he remembered something, 'I have clan heirs as friends! Surely they'll give me something to wear!' Naruto thought as he ran out of the building.
He ran straight to his best friend's house first, the Inuzuka compound, hoping that Kiba will give him some clothes.
When he knocked on the door, Kiba's voice answered, "Who is it?" Kiba asked from behind the door.
Naruto wasted no time and asked straight away, "Kiba! Do you have any clothes I can wear?"
As Kiba opened the door he seemed cautious, "you're wearing clothes, right?" Kiba asked before opening the door fully.
"Yeah I'm wearing clothes!" Naruto shouted at Kiba.
Kiba then opened the door fully, "come on in."
Naruto quickly went inside, "so do you have clothes I can wear? I'm going to have dinner with Hiashi and I don't have any good clothes" he said while tapping his foot.
Kiba's eyes widened when Naruto mentioned Hiashi, "oh You need fancy clothes" Kiba said as he got the picture.
Kiba seemed nervous after learning that fact," let me go ask my mom real quick" Kiba said with a nervous smile.
When Kiba came back he handed him a white shirt and a black tie, "this is all I'm allowed to give you, sorry Naruto" Kiba said in a sentimental tone.
Naruto didn't care if it was all he got, he was now closer to getting good clothes for the dinner!
Naruto took the clothes and quickly ran out, "thanks Kiba! I'll be sure to give these back!" Naruto shouted as he ran to the next house.
While running Haruto let out a bark, "are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Haruto asked
Naruto grew a small smirk as he answered, "We're going to get clothes from our friends and then we'll be sure to look fancy!" Naruto answered.
Haruto then laid back down, "I figured" Haruto said with a small sigh as he closed his eyes.
Naruto quickly ran to the next closest house which was Shikamaru, however there was a lost kid on the street crying.
Naruto quickly stopped to help by running over to the boy.
"Kid what's wrong?" Naruto asked as he slouched down to be at his height.
"Momma!"
Naruto quickly realized it, 'He must be lost then!'
Naruto then got up and looked around to see if there was any woman looking for a boy but there was no one, 'What do I do? I don't know how much time I have left for the dinner but I have to hurry!'
The sun was already a little more than halfway through the sky but poor little Naruto could never remember what way the sun came from.
He then slouched back down to the kid and put on his best smile.
"Hey kid, what does your momma look like? I'll help you find her" Naruto asked as he patted his head.
The kid hickupd and looked up at Naruto with tears still flowing down from his eyes.
"S-she looks *hic* l-like *hic* momma" the kid said.
'That tells me nothing...alright what do I do? Hmmm'
'I'll take him to Gramps!'
Naruto then picked up the boy, which caused him to stop crying for a bit so he took the chance and sprinted to the office.
The kid screamed all the way while flailing his arms which caused Naruto to get some looks and names called on him but he just couldn't care.
Naruto then entered the office and dropped off the kid, "I'ma leave him here, thanks!" Naruto said as he ran out the window and went back to running to Shikamaru's house
'This brat always gives me a headache'
'I have to hurry!' Naruto thought as he kept his grip on the shirt and tie.
"He's here" the familiar voice said into a communication device.
As Naruto was running he saw Konohamoru grinning as he faced him, 'Now what does he want?!' Naruto thought
"Hey Boss!" Konohamoru called out while waving his hand.
Naruto quickly took a turn and started taking a different direction but to his surprise there was a kid with glasses and snot dripping down his nose, along with that he is wearing the same blue scarf that Konohamoru wears.
"Boss! You have to stop!" The kid said while pushing up his glasses.
"Dammit!" Naruto grunted as he jumped onto the roof.
"Careful!" Haruto said as he held onto Naruto's hair.
When Naruto got on the roof, he saw a girl with bright orange hair in a weird haircut along with Konohamoru's scarf again.
'Who are these kids?!'
Naruto then made 10 shadow clones and they all ran in different directions, completely confusing the trio.
"Dammit!" The familiar voice said.
"Konohamoru, we'll get him next time" the girl with the orange hair said.
It turned out the voices were Konohamoru and his friends.
Naruto then kept on running to Shikamaru's house.
When he got there, he knocked 3 times quickly.
After a while, Shikamaru opened the door.
"Hey Na-" Shikamaru started as he was yawning.
"Do you have pants I can wear? Maybe even some shoes?" Naruto quickly asked
Shikamaru gave a black stare, "come in" Shikamaru said as he moved to give an opening.
Naruto quickly entered his house and was amazed by how big it was, "wow, nice house" Naruto said as he looked around, completely forgetting about why he was there.
"Hey focus!" Haruto said as he slapped Naruto's face with his tail.
"Ah, right!" Naruto shouted as he remembered, he then went back to look for Shikamaru but he was gone.
"Where'd he go?" Naruto asked as he looked around.
"He left already" Haruto replied.
After a while of waiting, Naruto grew impatient, 'Can Shikamaru take any longer?' Both Naruto and Haruto said at the same time.
Next thing they knew, Shikamaru was next to them and had some gray pants and black shoes.
"Here, I chose some that go well with anything since you didn't say what you needed them" Shikamaru said with a tired expression and a slight yawn at the end.
Naruto then realized he didn't tell him for what, "thanks Shikamaru, this will definitely help for the dinner" Naruto said as he rushed out of the house.
'I should take a shower for sure now' Naruto thought to himself.
"You stink" Haruto said blatantly.
"Take that back! you stink too! you think I wouldn't notice! YOU'RE ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD!" Naruto shouted at Haruto who just started blankly at the screaming blond.
"I'm just saying, it's really clear that you stink from up here, plus your hair is all stiff, you need a shower" Haruto replied as he lowered his head.
Naruto then quickly went back to the apartment and went into the shower while also giving Haruto a shower as well.
As they got out, Naruto put on his new clothes and went out to the Hyuga compound, after all he had spent most of the day looking for clothes.
When he got to the compound he knocked on the door and started worrying.
'What if I make them mad? What if I make a mess? What if they don't like Haruto?!' Naruto thought as Haruto popped out of Naruto's hair.
"your hair feels so much better now" Haruto exclaimed his red fur mixed with the blond color of Naruto's jaggy hair.
As the door opened, they saw Hiashi Hyuga looking as intimidating as ever.
"Naruto, please come in, it's our pleasure for what you have done for us" Hiashi said without changing facial expressions.
"He's scary" Haruto quietly barked.
They then went into the compound and took a seat at the table.
Hinata was staring down at the table with a flushed face but Naruto had grown used to it so he didn't question it. There was also a younger girl and a boy around their age. Both the girl and boy had stoic faces too.
'creepy' Both Naruto and Naruto thought.
"Now then Naruto, feel free to eat as much as you want, I'm sure all the running you did was tiring" Hiashi said.
Naruto was shocked that he knew that he was running all around the village
After a small moment of silence, Hiashi spoke up, "It was easy to spot you in your bright outfit, especially when you made those clones, I'm guessing it was to find your clothes? As I recall you didn't have any fancy clothing" Hiashi said, never changing his expression.
Even though it was true it still hurt Naruto that he said it so easily. It was like a direct shot to his pride.
"Thanks, you're right, I had to borrow these" Naruto said with a smile as he grabbed a plate with food.
The boy clicked his tongue in what seemed to be annoyance but Naruto didn't put much thought into it.
in order to make small talk, Naruto thought about a topic to talk about, "hey Hiashi, guess what?! I passed the Genin exams!" Naruto said proudly as he got out his Konoha headband and showed it iff
"Congratulations, Naruto. Your perseverance has paid off" Hiashi said, still looking stoic but Naruto could tell he was pleased.
"Naruto, I owe you a debt of gratitude for what you did for Hinata" Hiashi said as he looked at Hinata, in response Hinata lowered her head.
Naruto looked confused about the statement, "I told you it's fine, I was just trying to help" Naruto said with a smile in which the boy clicked his tongue again.
Naruto grew a tickmark but he held himself back from making a scene. Even Naruto could understand the situation he was in.
"In the name of the Hyuga, we are very grateful but I especially am extremely grateful, not as a clan head, but as a father, that Hinata has a person like you in her life, please take care of her in the future as well" Hiashi said but this time with his eyes reflecting hope and gratefulness.
Hinata turned as red as a tomato as she thought about the implications and fainted on the table, releasing a small thud sound in the air.
"..."
"Will she be alright?" Naruto asked
"She'll be fine" Hiashi said as he took a sip of his tea.
For the rest of the dinner it was mostly awkward but Naruto kept the conversation going.
At some point Hinata woke up and acted as if nothing happened but it was visible that she was embarrassed. She also had a red mark on her forehead from where the impact was.
Once the dinner was over, Naruto started to head back to the apartment until Hinata called out to him.
"Naruto! be safe. ." Hinata said quietly but loud enough for Naruto to hear.
Both Naruto and Haruto smiled and gave her a thumbs up, "you stay safe too, I could tell that you're going to be way stronger! I promise you that and I always keep my promises!" Naruto shouted confidentially.
Hinata blushed but again Naruto only smirked, he was just happy that he had friends and that she was one of them.

Yeah I liked this one, it had a nice feel to it, at least to me
In case you're wondering why Neji is acting that way even though Hinata wasn't kidnapped, that is because of some events afterwards which led to the same outcome of Hizashi being given to the Village Hidden in the Clouds.
I'll go more into detail for when a chapter needs the explanation, probably during the Chunin Exam.
Anyways, with this chapter out of the way, I will now read some fanfic
