Franken-Mollie: Two Heads Aren't for Everyone

Ever since their lives had been saved by sewing them together, Molly and Ollie had enjoyed being in the same body. They did everything together, and got along perfectly well. Most of the guests at the McGee/Chen Haunted Home liked seeing their happy life, and loved it when they helped out.

However, recently, Darryl and June, their respective younger siblings, had begun to grow jealous of them. One day, they said so. All four of them were cleaning a room for a new guest.

"I don't know how you two do it." Darryl said.

"Do what?" Molly asked.

"Handle being stuck to each other all the time. Don't you get tired of each other?"

"No way! We have so much in common that it's like we were destined to be a two-headed monster!" Ollie said.

"Well, we could be one, too!" June told her brother.

"Yeah, how hard can it be?" Darryl added.

"We've had months to get used to it. You wouldn't last a week!" Molly said.

"How about a bet?" Darryl suggested. "June and I will ask Libby to make us a two-headed monster for one week, and if we get through it, you gotta do all our chores for the next one!"

"Fair enough." Ollie said. "But if you can't last, you have to be our personal servants for the same amount of time."

"Deal!" June said. They finished cleaning the room, and went to Libby's lab. They told her about the bet.

"Well, I can't exactly replicate the process I used for your siblings while you're still alive," she said, "but I have been working on something that can help making composite creatures a lot faster." She pulled the tarp off her newest invention. It was a large pod-shaped machine.

"Behold, my fusion chamber!" she said. "With it, you shall become a dicephalic monstrosity!"

"Cool!" Darryl said.

"Last chance to back out." Molly told him. Darryl just rolled his eyes, and took June's hand.

"You ready?" he asked her.

"Yep." she answered. They went into the fusion chamber, and Libby turned it on. Electricity crackled, lights flashed, and the young mad scientist laughed.

"PLAYING GOD IS AWESOME!" she cackled. After a few minutes, the machine cooled down, and the door opened.

Darryl and June stepped out of the chamber. They were now a half werewolf/half swamp creature with two heads. They looked themselves over.

"So weird!" June said. "We're now totally intermingled!" Just then there was a knock on the lab door.

"What's going on down there?" Sharon asked. She came in and saw what happened.

"Now both my kids are sharing bodies with the Chens? What's the meaning of this?" she demanded. They told her everything.

"So, you think you can be like your sister, huh?" Sharon asked Darryl. "You won't last a week."

"That's what I said!" Molly replied.

"We totally got this!" Darryl bragged. He took a step forward, but he and June fell onto their faces.

"Maybe we should give them some lessons on how to move first." Ollie said to Molly. She agreed, and they helped their younger siblings to their feet. After a few tips, Darryl and June got the hang of working as one. The bet was on!

Later that day, a troll checked into the hotel. Darryl and June were on luggage duty. They carried the troll's bags up to the third floor.

"Was it Room 306 it he's staying in?" Darryl asked.

"I'm sure it was 309." June answered. She stretched towards it, but Darryl tried to reach for 306's door.

"This one!" "No this one!" they argued, tugging back and forth. The troll grabbed his bags and room key.

"It's 308." he said, and went in.

"Okay, slight setback, but we can totally handle this." June said. They helped more guests with their bags, and surprisingly got on well.

Sharon had told the other parents about the bet, and she and Esther got a bit competitive.

"June will make Darryl crack before you know it!" Esther said.

"You don't know Darryl like I do. He's got some pretty tricky tactics!" Sharon bragged.

When both families sat down to dinner that night, Darryl wanted to use the wooden utensils. "Silver gives me a rash." he told June.

"I don't wanna experience that." she said, and agreed to use the wooden ones. Franken-Mollie were very impressed with how their younger siblings were getting along with each other.

"If they keep this up," Ollie said, "we'll be doing their chores as well as our own."

"Relax." Molly told her boyfriend. "They will get tired of being stuck together eventually." As the week went on, Darryl and June continued to struggle with body sharing.

When June wanted to take a swim, Darryl would hold on to a tree to keep them from moving. And when he tried to chase small animals, June would make them turn away at the last minute. Their arguments got more frequent, but they were determined to win the bet. Every time they started to fight, they corrected themselves.

However, it all came to a breaking point just one day before the bet was due to end. They were helping out in the hotel's restaurant, trying to serve all the customers. It was very busy, and they were running around to exhaustion.

"Excuse me, there's no fly in my soup!" a goblin complained.

"We'll get it, sir!" Darryl said.

"Where's my napkin?" asked a witch.

"Coming up." June told her. But more customers kept asking for stuff, and Darryl and June just couldn't keep up!

"WE CAN"T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" they yelled. Franken-Mollie came over.

"Not so easy after all, huh?" Molly said.

"You were right. We admit defeat.'' June sighed. They all went back to the lab, where Libby unfused the younger siblings.

The next day, Franken-Mollie were relaxing by the pool. Ollie snapped his fingers.

"More ice for our drink, please!" he said. Darryl put some cubes into the glass.

"Could we get another towel?" Molly asked June. The young swamp monster brought it over.

"We're sorry we thought we could be like you." June said. "We were just jealous of you two. You looked so happy, it made us feel left out."

"Hey, it's alright." Molly said. "Two heads aren't for everyone, but you're still our younger siblings, and we love you no matter how many bodies you've got." Feeling better, Darryl and June hugged their older siblings.
