Chapter 32: Crossing The Sea To Mossdeep City! Exploring The Shoal Cave!
Michael and the girls exited Team Aqua's hideout and returned to the Pokemon Center in Lilycove City.
Weiss - "Well this just sucks. We were too late to slow down the submarine."
Michael - "It's not too late yet Weiss. There's still a chance to find Archie and stop him before he CAN awake Lady Kyogre."
Ruby - "But even if we reach Route 128, we'll still have to go underwater and somehow find the seafloor cavern."
Bea - "You do realize Michael can just use his aura sight to find it."
Pinkie - "That's true. But what about breathing underwater then?"
Michael - "I'll explain more on that when we reach Mossdeep City. This way I don't have to repeat myself for Twilight and those with her."
Rarity - "That's fair. We won't be doing any diving underwater till after Mossdeep City anyway."
Yang - "So what do we do for now?"
Michael - "Weiss. You, Roxanne, and your group will head over to the supermarket and restock our supplies so we have enough till Mossdeep City. I'll contact Steven and inform him about what happened with Maxie, as well as the current situation with Archie. As for everyone else, you all can relax for the time being."
While Weiss and Roxanne led their group over to the department store, Michael quickly contacted Steven.
Michael - "Hey Steven."
Steven - "Hello Michael. Any good news on your end?"
Michael - "Sadly no. We weren't able to fully stop Maxie."
Lance - "So that means Lord Groudon has been awaken then."
Leon - "What about Archie and Lady Kyogre?"
Michael - "Archie HAS taken Captain Stern's Submarine Explorer 1. And according to Captain Stern himself, his team found a seafloor cavern on Route 128. Both Archie, as well as myself, fully believe that cavern is where Lady Kyogre is sleeping right now. As for Archie, he and most of Team Aqua have left for the cavern in the submarine a few minutes ago."
Ame - "That doesn't leave us a lot of time yet."
Ina - "Ame's right. There's gotta be something that we can do."
Michael - "Sadly no, there isn't. Lady Kyogre awakening or not right now depends entirely on if the others and I can stop Archie in time or not."
Gura - "Michael's right. Let's have faith in him and the others for now."
Michael - "Thanks Gura."
Steven - "So what do we do in the off chance that Lady Kyogre IS awakened?"
Michael - "I want Steven, Lance, and Leon to come over and meet me at where the seafloor cavern's entrance is above water. Then you three are to escort Archie AND Maxie to Sootopolis City. Sure I couldn't stop them fully, but they BOTH need to see the error of their actions."
Lance - "I couldn't agree more."
Michael - "Also I don't mean to sound rude, but is Lord Groudon in Sootopolis City already?"
Ina - "He is."
Ina turned the screen, showing that Groudon was in the middle of Sootopolis City's giant lake.
Michael - "How long has he been there for now?"
Ame - "A good while now. He's just been silently waiting for his sister to awaken."
Michael then thought back to Groudon's message to him back at Mt. Chimney.
Groudon - "Please young Michael... Help me and my sister Kyogre..."
Michael - "Lord Groudon... Just what did you mean by that message...?"
Steven - "Ok then Michael. We'll wait for word on what happened to Lady Kyogre."
Michael - "Right. You all just be careful as well."
Michael then ended the call and led those of the party out of the Pokémon Center. Then they met up with the rest of the party near the beach.
Michael - "We good for now?"
Weiss - "Yes. Not sure how we're gonna deal with the seafloor cavern though."
Michael - "We'll figure that out when we reach that point."
Once they double-checked everything, the party quickly set off on Route 124, heading east towards Mossdeep City. After an uneventful trek across the open ocean, the party finally arrived in Mossdeep City.
Michael - "Finally arrived in Mossdeep City."
? - "Hey!"
Michael and the girls turned to see Twilight calling out to them. She then ran down the stairs onto the beach, being quickly followed by Kronii, Sabrina, and Sana. The first three girls then tackled Michael, knocking him down into the sand.
Michael - "Nice to see you four again."
Twilight - "Likewise Michael."
Kronii - "Surprised it took you all so long to get here."
Weiss - "About that..."
Michael and the others quickly explained the plight Hoenn was soon to face.
Sabrina - "That's not good."
Ruby - "No it's not."
Sana - "Wait. What about Gura, Ina, and Ame?"
Clair - "They've been informed already."
Kronii - "They have?"
Michael - "Yes. The three of them are with Steven, Lance, and Leon in Sootopolis City right now. Despite the fact that Maxie HAS awakened Lord Groudon, there's still a chance to stop Archie from doing the same with Lady Kyogre. But for now, I have to win Mossdeep City's gym badge first."
Twilight - "If you want to Michael, there's also a couple of Pokémon you can catch over in Shoal Cave to the north of here."
Michael - "Lead the way over to it then."
Twilight, Sabrina, Kronii, and Sana led their friends over to Shoal Cave.
Michael - "What time is it right now?"
Kronii - "It's around 2:30 pm right now."
Michael - "So then High Tide's gonna be around for another 30 minutes. Let's get moving and get as many Shoal Shells as we can here before it disappears."
While going around Shoal Cave during the last 30 minutes of High Tide, Michael caught a Spheal and sent him home. Then after getting around 2 dozen Shoal Shells, the party returned to the entrance of Shoal Cave and watched as High Tide receded and turned into Low Tide, thus opening up more of the cave itself.
Michael - "Ok girls. Just like before. But this time we're going for Shoal Salt."
Girls - "Right."
While looking around the expanded cave for Shoal Salt, Michael reached the deepest part of the cave, which was massively icy. Down there in Shoal Cave's deepest part, Michael caught a pair of Snorunt, one male and the other female.
Michael - "Yay. And that now means I'll have a Walrein, along with Glalie AND Froslass."
Ruby - "So that makes you what, five Pokémon closer to seeing them all in Hoenn?"
Michael - "That's right. And I also just sadly realized that I won't be catching them all here in Hoenn either."
Weiss - "Which ones are you gonna be missing?"
Michael - "Roselia and Chimecho."
Clair - "Oh right. The baby forms for those two are found in Sinnoh."
Michael - "Anyway. Let's get back to searching for Shoal Salt."
Soon the party continued with their search. After getting two dozen Shoal Salts as well, the party asked the elderly man inside the cave if he could make something out of the shells and salts for them. The Elderly man then quickly got to work, making a total of six Shell Bells for the party. Michael happily thanked the elderly man and took the Shell Bells, gently placing them in his backpack. Then the party quickly returned to the Pokémon Center in Mossdeep City since it was getting late and had dinner, followed by going to bed and getting ready for Michael's gym challenge tomorrow.
