The sounds of chaos had finally ended but the world had completely changed, there wasn't anything that hadn't been affected by the strange energies.
Some trees now have faces while others move on their own. Some animals speak like Humans, and some now walk on two legs and use weapons.
There are dragons, griffins, and all sorts of mythological creatures running rampant in the world and while the ruins of the old world still exist there aren't many of them left.
He can't help but sit down and look at the stars in the sky, it's been so long since you were able to see them.
At his side was the machine gun that he had picked up somewhere during the war, he didn't remember when he even picked it up. The last battle had been so chaotic that by the end of it, no one knew how they were even alive.
He can still feel the fingers of the Blood God's servants digging into his head, but he knows that it's impossible because the bombs that the army detonated managed to destroy the portals that connected Earth to that hellish place.
The warmth of the sun's light touches his skin and he can't help but laugh as he realizes that he somehow managed to fall asleep while sitting down.
He presses his hand on the ground and feels the sword that he was given by a soldier when the man knew that he wasn't going to make it. The sword had been forged by something that wasn't human, but he didn't know who or what it had made it.
"Hellow!" he yells to the other soldiers hoping that someone anyone could hear him, but no matter how hard he listens to his surroundings he can't hear anyone.
'Great." he says to himself, it's not the first time that he finds himself in a strange land. The war was fought in more than one world, so he isn't surprised to find that there isn't anyone near him.
He knows what to do, he just needs to find the portal that will take him home and then he can try to start over.
During the war soldiers from different worlds ended up being thrown from one world into another.
So everyone quickly learned that if they ended up in another world, they just needed to find a portal or a place where chaos was pouring into the world and jump into the tears in reality.
The sound of a bull roaring, but its voice is completely unnatural, it sounds like a person screaming madly, but at the same time, the voice has traces of a rabid animal mixed into it.
"Damm." he says to himself as he sees the minotaurs running towards him, he doesn't know how he even missed them, but he knows that he can't escape them by running away.
He quickly stands up aims his gun at the closest minotaur and opens fire.
The minotaurs don't stop charging and their numbers just keep growing, still, he continues to fire at them, but he is forced to abandon one target for another.
He is forced to roll away and fire at several of the monsters before he has to lower his gun and switch to the sword that is still tied to his side.
The sword glows slightly and he feels himself becoming lighter, the minotaurs seem to move in slow motion, but no matter how many of them he kills the sword doesn't stop being sharp.
He can't help but gasp for air as he looks at the corpses of the dead minotaurs.
The war had taught him that he has to collect all of the blood that he can before it goes to waste, he is going to use the magic of the blood god but that's only if he has to.
The backpack that he has been carrying during all of this is torn, but it still has several of the plastic bags that he quickly fills with the blood of the minotaurs.
He dips his hand into the skull of the largest of the minotaurs and remembers the fires that the enemies used against him and his fellow soldiers.
The minotaur's head screams in pain, he would have dropped it in terror, but he has seen this thing so many times that it does not affect him anymore.
He holds onto the head until it finally stops screaming, and then he lets it fall onto what remains of its body before he is forced to run away, as the fire quickly spreads.
He knows that the fire could spread but it's a risk that he is willing to take, just so he can destroy the blood in the area.
He can't help but smile as he runs away, because when the fire finally dies there won't be any skulls for the blood god to take.
He keeps on running not because he wants to, but because the fire is burning out of control, there are a lot more bodies in the area, so the fire is destroying all of them.
He can feel the ground beneath him shake as the creatures that live in this area run away from the growing flames.
He finally stops running when he can't feel the heat of the fire anymore and when the cries of the frightened animals finally vanish that's when he knows that it's safe to stop running.
He can feel his legs losing their strength, he hasn't eaten or drunk anything already, but he doesn't have any water or food, so he grabs handfuls of grass puts them into his mouth, and starts to chew.
"Hey mister, my mom says that it's bad to eat grass." he hears the voice of a child say to him.
He looks up and sees a small boy who can't be older than seven years old looking at him with eyes that still hold purity within them.
"How many times do I have to tell you not to leave." he sees the boy's mother pull the boy away but she stops moving when she notices him.
'Guards!" she shouts desperately as she carries the boy in her arms as she runs away.
he can see several men wearing leather armor running past the woman and he assumes that the one who kneels next to him is their leader.
"A soldier from the great war?" the man says as he looks at him with a confused expression.
"Water please." he manages to beg the soldier who quickly takes out his water bottle and puts it on his lips.
The water burns his thoughts and somehow it makes the aftertaste of the grass taste even worse.
"Thank you, can you tell me where the closest gate is, I need to get home." he says to the guard who just pats him on the back.
"My friend that's going to be a lot harder than you think." the guard says to him as he leads him to a nearby house.
