Doctor Who: two slaves and a time traveller
Summary: William just wants to sit back and admire art. It's a shame that art wants him dead and off he goes sent back in time dealing with a Queen and a servant.
Chapter 1 door to door salesman
The stone stood still.
Covering it's eyes with its hands the stone wasn't moving just how stone should be as still as a rock. Never moving. Never talking just standing still as if it was frozen in time. Just how it should be, thought William knowing nothing bad would happened with this piece of artwork or to this piece of artwork.
"Ah, work of art," muttered William.
"A stone statue. Really? In your living room."
William turned to look at his door and frowned at the man.
"And, who are you? A door to door salesman?"
"I'm the Doctor."
"A professor?"
"No, a Doctor."
It didn't explain the lab coat nor the top hat.
"I recommend not to having that thing in the household. It's bad, very bad."
"And, why's that's? There's nothing wrong with a bit of artwork hanging around the place."
"There is when it comes to that certain artwork." The Doctor warned. "It's bad luck. Very bad luck."
"Hmm. It's very fine and very well made. So, I don't see why it would be seen bad luck to have it."
"Bad luck to have it?" screech the Doctor. "Of course, it will be bad luck to have it. It's a moving object."
"And, what are you?"
"What do you mean?" asked the possible door to door sale man.
"Your occupation of course," said William as he stood on the heel of his feet looking proudly at his work of arts.
"If you must then I'm a Professor in all things paranormal and mythological."
"Ah, I see a fantasy author," said William.
"No, a real Professor in anything strange and wonderful and mysterious things happen I'm called to see what it is and why it moves," explains the Doctor.
"Hmm."
He turned around to face the man in a lab coat only to pause as he felt something shift behind him. He turned to face it and then noticed it must've been his imagination. For the statue was in perfect order and hasn't moved an inch at all, but he could've sworn to himself something was off about it. As if the stone had moved.
Maybe. Maybe. He glared.
"Did it just move?" wondered William.
"Of course it's moved," said the Doctor. "Quickly get out of there before it sends you back in time."
"In time? Now, I know you're a writer who've gone off your rocket," said William.
"I'm being serious. Just let me in and I can explain it to you." said the Doctor as he struggled to break into the house, but couldn't due to the lock.
"Hmm," hummed the man as he glared at the statue. Unknowing to him it moved an inch its eyes widen and opened its arms moved towards him. It's mouth opened showing its shape pointed fangs, but William hasn't noticed too busy staring into its eyes. "Maybe you're right."
"Let me in. Quickly Imani get the hammer we've got to smash it. Smash it I say. Wait? Where is Imani?" wondered the Doctor.
"Just hang on. Hang on. I'll let you in, but only because I truly do find something strange about this work of art. Maybe it's in the wrong position?" wonder William as he walked towards the door.
Every inch he took the stone statue moved towards him. Slowly and slowly he walked towards the door.
"On second thought I might call a friend especially since there are two unknown people outside my door."
William paused turned around and the next thing he knows he was pointed by a very cold finger and zapped he went.
Chapter 2 back in time he goes
"Welcome to the Moon Kingdom. How may I help you?" said an elderly woman as he woke up.
He got a strange feeling he was forgetting something, but what? Even he didn't know, either way he was thanking the elderly woman for a glass of nice cold water. Which was handle to him gently.
"Who are you?" he wondered out loud after clearing his throat and passing the glass to her.
"The Moirai," said the three women at once as they bowed their heads.
"Is that a family name or something?" he muttered to himself resting his awful headache.
"The Queen would like to see you." said the Moirai.
Of course she would. Who wouldn't? He was after all one of the most populous guys in town and very charming. And, then it dawned on him. He was being far too prideful in front of a Queen.
Wait?
Did he just say Queen?
"Good evening," she bowed and he fell out of bed causing a bit of a panic.
"Ah…"
He didn't remember a Queen being in town much less a monarchy.
"Welcome to the Moon Kingdom you'd be trialled for trespassing." said a woman holding a very large wooden shield.
He gulped down his fear at the sight of the shield the woman had her brown hair in a tight high up pony tail and a sword attached to her hip. This was not something he was looking forward to especially if it was his fault he was caught for trespassing.
"I'm sure there's been some kind of mistake. You see I'm not from here," gulped the man who for some reason couldn't remember his name. "I'm, I'm … well the funny thing is I don't remember my name."
The woman raised an eyebrow. "Be it as it may you are still here on new ground and there for count as new blood. In other words you will be tested for as your rights for a civilian."
"Rights for a civilian?" he mumbled nervously. "And, how in the heavens will that occur?"
"A duel and if you win then a court trial," she said.
"I'm either doomed or it's my lucky day. Now, since you clearly don't know my name. May I ask yours?"
He bowed to her trying his best to be polite but she seemed indifferent to his gestured.
"Very well you shall know your opponent. I am Athena."
Wonderful news, he silently mocked himself. He was going to be sentenced to death at this rate because one thing for sure he couldn't fight to save his life.
Chapter 3 the new servant in the trade
"This sword is a lot heavier then I thought it would be," said the man as he tried to lift that said sword.
"Put some back bone to it. You will have to if you want to make past a round," said the servant girl. As she popped into the ten. "I'm here to help you. I'll be your servant for today. I'm Imani."
He glanced over his shoulder to see a young teenager with short brown hair wearing a simple black tunic and trousers with black leather boots. There were dirt underneath her nails with a few dirt stains on her white hands. He raised an eyebrow wondering if he's heard that name before, for some strange reason he had a feeling he had heard that name before. If so, where was the strange fellow that was said to be with her?
"I supposed because I really don't know what to do with this kind of thing," he said as he held the strange metal gear in his hands.
"I believe you're holding up a helmet."
"A what to a who now?" he asked speechless.
"Not good. You really are not from here. Are you?"
"I'm really not. I'm from, um out of town… Yes, that's it out of town." he said still not remembering the most important detail his own name.
"You don't know who you are do you?" she asked.
"Nope," he admitted. "And, how do you know this?"
"Look there's something I need to tell you and there's something you shouldn't tell anyone else in this Kingdom especially to the Queen."
He paused and blinked his mind silently letting out a long ahhh to himself as he was baffled by the statement.
"You're a time traveller and so am I. We've traveled here from the early two thousands only to find ourselves in the eighteen century," she said polity.
"Eh?" he said stupidly.
"You're not from here." she whispered.
"I know that," he whispered back wondering why he was whispering at all.
"You're in a different location. You've traveller."
"I know that too. It's clear to me that I'm not from here. Look at the clothes I'm wearing, look at the speech pattern I have. Look at the way I act. Look at me and look at them and compare them I'm not like you nor like them I'm far from home. I'm completely lost, but I can't say that out loud because I'm expected to duel to the death for my rights and my freedom and for a fair trade during a court day. By the sounds of it against a Queen. A Queen," he said panicky. "So, yes I'm very doomed unless someone is my saving grace."
"Yes, but you're in a different time an actual different time period."
"As in instead of seeing tomorrow I went back to see yesterday?"
"Yes, time traveller. Yes, that is what you did because you were facing a weeping angel. A being of time and sometimes a being of death."
He pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Oh, the joys I'm lost."
"Put on his gear the duel expected within an hour," said Athena sternly as she walked past the tent.
"Come on I'll help." Imani said as she picked up the helmet. "I think I'm getting used to this job."
Chapter 4 Charon VS the time traveller
He tried to look for the supposedly Queen of the Kingdom, but couldn't find anyone and Athena marched forward.
"Where you're Queen?" he asked.
"She will arrive."
A woman in white appeared with long black hair she walked towards the stadium and sat on a golden throne with a blue cushion she smiled to the cowed and sat down. She nodded to her knight who drew out his sword the blade shorn in the light.
As for him. He held out his sword and almost dropped it tumbling down to the ground in the process. He picked himself up quickly though found himself being able to hold on the sword properly in his hands.
He was ready to do this.
Ready to fight.
Hopefully.
Maybe?
Either way he dashed forward at Charon.
He had hopes he will win this fight and so he swing his mighty sword and made his first moved. He was stop when a shield blocked his moved. Wood and metal collided and he was pushed back. Charon moved forward with her shield and attempted to wrack him, but he used his sword to block the attack. All it did was cause a large dint in the shield.
Her sword came crashing down. Both swords crashed and both made a clang.
He didn't know what to do.
Didn't understand what he was doing, but adrenaline pumped through his body and he found himself standing on his own two feet and his sword clang and crashed against her. He found himself surprised by his own speed and shock by his own strength.
He wasn't too sure how long the battle lasted, but either way swords clang and crashed and only on occasion did the shield interfere. Blocking the sword from crashing against Charon fresh she tried to hit him with her own shield time and time again, but a few times he was was able to slash at the wood. He slashed and slashed and tore down the shield until Charon was left with just a sword.
They clang against each other the metal colliding, sparks flying off the swords and he kicked Charon to the side and pushed her to the ground. He held out his sword to her neck the cowed started to mumble and whisper along themselves as his weapon came slicing down and chopped off Charon head.
The Queen warrior was dead.
Chapter 4 A new Knight
"Oh, I see our new victor. Welcome new Champion. You have beaten one of our most bravest and noble knights of them all. Whatever name you've had in the past shall be removed. You shall be called Dionysus from this day on. Imani shall be your servant from now on, however failed to work for me you will lose your noble title. Understand stranger? You've been given this chance fail this chance and you shall return back to a slave."
"I understand my Queen."
He noticed something in the background. Something strange and not off this world waiting for him and lurking in the distance. It looked familiar. It looked as if it was something he had seen before. But what?
Had he seemed this stone thing before? Maybe, he frowned at it and blinked then it moved an inch. No, longer weeping it's hands we're covering it's mouth and it's eyes we're looking at him.
"Dionysus."
"My Queen?"
He wasn't too sure what else to address the woman in front of him other than My Queen. His town only had a mayor not a Queen or a King in its place.
"Oh, good you are paying attention. You shall be sleeping in Charon old chambers I expect Imani to clean the room out by lunch time. Either then that I expect to see you at dinner by noon. Understood?"
"Yes, My Queen. But can I ask one question?"
"Of course."
"Where am I?"
"You're in the Moon Kingdom on the Eastern Front," informed Calliope.
The Moon Kingdom.
The Moon Kingdom on the Eastern Front? He's never been to the Moon Kingdom and he's never heard of such a place. He has no idea where he is or what he's doing here other then fact he had travelled back in time. From what and what caused it? Dionysus didn't know. And, if he did he would've remembered by now.
"Thank you My Queen. I will not let you down."
"I'm sure you won't. Until then I want someone to burrow the dead." the Queen order as Imani lead Dionysus to the castle.
The pair didn't talk for a while and kept to themselves as the servant lead the knight away.
"I just killed a man for my freedom and a new name. Which means what?" he wondered.
"You're seen as a knight now not as a slave nor a servant. You have higher rank then I do and you get paid for your work unlike me."
"Do you at least get something for your hard effort?"
"If I'm good I get a small plate of food and I can stayed in my chambers." Imani said.
"Back in my time you get paid to do your job," said Dionysus.
"I know I was a lab assistant for a scientist. You?"
"Britain military," said Dionysus.
"Explains why you can handle blood."
"It would and it does. Never held a sword before or worn amour," said Dionysus.
"Interesting. Big man in green then?" Imani said with a smirk.
"In a sense," said Dionysus. "Do you know when I'll come back home?"
"I'm not sure. We will have to wait for the Doctor to come crashing through all of time," Imani said.
"Crashing through?"
"Yep, crashing through. He has this thing call a Time Machine and he hops on so many wild adventures causes chaos, saves a few people and then crashes through time and changes the past, current and future."
"A man like that wouldn't last long in the army."
"I don't think a man like him would last long in a group. He's a bit of a hermit," said Imani.
"Oh, the joys," said Dionysus. "A hermit character next thing you tell me he's a bit mad."
"He is a bit insane. Just a tad," said Imani as the pair walked up the stone steps.
"He must be if he came up with a time travel device. I say he has too much time on his hands to come up with such idea. Is that how I got here?" asked Dionysus.
"No, you were sent here by a creature called a weeping angel. It sends people back in time and uses its time energy to feed off its victims. In other words it kills you slowly and drains you dry."
Dionysus winched. "That sounds a bit too close to rape to me."
"Raping your energy for life. Yeah, I supposed it would be," said Imani.
The pair walked down the narrowed hallway before they arrived at a red wooden door. She held her hand towards the door and unlock it, gesturing a hand to his chambers.
"This is your room," she said.
"Thank you," said Dionysus as he walked into his chambers.
Chapter 5 the witch hunt
Dionysus found himself welcomed at the dinner feast later that night he was a little unsure at first since he's never been to a meal so large. And, he was uncertain. Wondering about the catch of the matter and if there was any risk to his reward. Either way, he was here and he found himself here sitting among the Queen and her noble blood friends willing strong smelling ale and eating the best of chicken.
"Do you want to see our fool?" asked the Queen.
"Your fool?"
"Yes, you our fool. Our fool for he is such a baffling idiot," she let out a little drunk giggle.
"Ah?"
He looked to Imani for guidance but she shrugged her shoulders and nodded her head as will as gestured to the side.
Chains were heard ratting along the castle floor and Dionysus frowned.
"Will they are slaves," she said catching the part that slipped out of her mouth. "How else am I meant to treat them?"
"With respect?"
"What so, they can peck at me and throw me off the pecking order?" wonder Calliope. "Of course not. Unless of course you're not noble blood and most knights are noble blood."
"Are you suggesting I'm your human shield?" asked Dionysus with a frown as he narrowed his eyes in slight disgust.
"Of course not. But if force comes to push then yes. I will gladly use you as a human shield," she said with such delight.
His eyes turned back to the salve who was walking on his two legs and looking awfully pain and awfully numbly as he waddle about.
"Go on you fool. Dance for us," said Calliope throwing a gold coin at the servant feet.
The slave back away from the coin and moved slightly to the left the Queen let out a laugh and tossed another coin. He moved slightly to the right and tumble over the noble blood tried not to laugh as the Queen let out a giggling fit. Dionysus glared at the Queen and looked to the slave he gestured his hand to the right and the slave disappeared hopefully back home.
"Oh, how the tress wave. He's gone the fool is actually gone. How an earth did that happened?" Queen Calliope wondered out loud.
"I don't know my Queen it just sorted of happened."
"Sort of happened? Oh, heavens no. You know what this means my dear we have a witch on our hands," she clapped her hands. "Athena."
"My Lady," said Athena as she wonder towards them. Still dressed as a knight from head to toe.
"I want this which to be found at once Athena and bring he or she here and make sure a court will be trial. I do love how the slaves performed for me. So, off with the hunt."said Queen Calliope.
Knights around the table started to move and tucked in their chairs and hurried along, their red cape flowing around them as they dragged their cape on the floor.
"Slaves, get the horses ready."
The slaves didn't mention a word, they simply nodded their head and hurried off to the court yard.
"Now, new knight you are expected to join this which hunt of ours. Athena shall be your guide Dionysus. Good luck, young man."
"Thank you my Queen."
Now, Dionysus might have been good at battling, but he wasn't good at tracking much less finding a witch in the woods. Either way, he liked to think he had a bit of luck on his side so he march on with the other knights. He was already dressed in his knight amour and down he went through the narrowed hallway and down the stone steps. By the time he arrived a fine brown horse was waiting for him it neighed and seemed to be the most lively compared to the other horses. With a strong body it stood on its high legs and neigh again. The horse was told to clam and it stamped its hove into the ground before the slaves could catch the horses reigns.
The saddle was on and ready and all he needed to do was hop on the horse. He thanked the wind that he wouldn't look like a fool in front of the other men around him because he's had horse training before all thanks to the Britain military.
Hopping on the most lively horse he had ever seen much less rode on. Dionysus left the courtyard taking one good look at Calliope, whom was waiting just right outside the window of her castle.
The knights carried on their witch hunt. Dogs barked loudly and with such delight as they marched through the woodland.
"So, who do you think is the most finest of the pair?"
"I'm sorry, but who are you?"
"Knight Lancelot I've been serving the Queen for a while. You?"
"I'm the newbie," said Dionysus.
"Ah, the one that was just knighted. Heard you could've lost your head."
"How did you get into the position?"
"Eh, I might've lied a few things. But that's beside the point." Lancelot didn't seem to like to talk about the topic to much as if it was a shameful past for him. "Now, back to my question. Who do you think is the most finest out of the women. Athena or our Queen?"
Dionysus found himself in between a rock and a hard place. He couldn't say anything bad about the Queen if he did he would lose his knight hood and his freedom as a person and be stuck as a slave. Then he took one good look at Lancelot. This knight seemed to be lying through his teeth. Who was he and why? He wanted to asked, but the hounds seemed to have found something and Dionysus hope it wasn't the body of the slave he found.
He did try after all. He tried very much so to get that slave out of there anything was better than being a fool, but then again he came from a different time where you don't go upsetting people for fun.
Before he could answer though a whistle was heard through the woodland an arrow came flying through the air.
"Get down." A knight ordered.
The horses neighed as the group took a turn to the left an and arrow hit the tree bark. That's when the group noticed something a cliff. It wasn't so high it was more of a high sloop, but nevertheless it was there and Dionysus had a bad feeling about this slop. A very bad feeling about this sloop.
"It's a trap.," he said.
Only Athena seemed to have gotten this message and their horses made a run for it. They got a few feet away before they stopped and turned, but Lancelot and the others hadn't moved an inch nor seemed to understand what the word meant because they stood their speechless until men were seen perking over them.
"Halt."yelled Dionysus as he drew out his sword.
"Men be ready," said the young blonde who looked too close to an actual Prince then anything else.
"We don't mean you any harm."
"We are only here for Merlin."
"Merlin?"asked Lancelot sounding as if he was an idiot. "Our fool?"
Even Athena knew the bad judgement of words Lancelot threw at the possible Prince.
"You dare talk to my friend that way?"splat the young Prince.
"Slaves do not befriend royal blood," said the knight.
"I'm sure if we take a moment we can clam down and talk about this. How, does that sound?"asked Dionysus.
"You act as if you want a peace treaty with us and let you won't answer my question. Where is my friend?"
"We're on a witch hunt," said Athena. "Our slave went missing and the Queen sent us out."
"His name?"demanded Arthur.
"We don't name our slaves like Camelot does."
"Then you have stolen a Camelot friend and not his foe. Because of this it will be your end."
The men jumped down the cliff with a battle cry and landed on the ground finding themselves in the mist of battle. Athena rushed towards them, but Dionysus got in the way.
"Come on. Let's go now before they get our head chops off."
"And, run like cowards."
"It's better than being dead. Beside I have a feeling this was a trap."
His horse neighed and puffed as the horse ran off into the distance with him on his back and Athena following along only Lancelot took noticed of the pair running away as he yelled out a furiously coward comment. Lancelot head though was soon chopped off, left rolling around on the ground going pale with his eyes wide opened and making a small popping sound as he had done so.
Chapter 5 listening to a hunch
"Who is this slave?"asked Dionysus.
"Nobody really knows. Nobody knows for sure if what Arthur says is true. For all we know he could be setting up a trap. A plan perfectly formed by his father to end Calliope range. But there had been stories of the pair. Still seen as a servant, but heavy protected by his master. Last foolish man that dare to end the slave life was stabbed to death by a pissed off Prince."
"Camelot nothing, but fiction from where I come from. It's a Kingdom lost to time."
"It's mostly stories here as will poet love to speak about the place it sounds dreamily almost a heaven."
"How so?"
"There's food for all there somehow. If you earn your weigh you get a plate off food with you if you don't then they banish you after you failed your chance to prove your worth," she said. "At least according to the stories."
"They're just stories they'd be hard to tell which is the truth and which is fiction when it comes to Camelot. Either way, the only problem we have now is finding the slave that vanished this morning and hope to the wind that the slave we had is the slave the Prince is looking for. And, let us hope we find it before he tears the Kingdom down because I don't think he is in the mood for a peace treaty."
"It might've been the slave that faded away. The people we got from there came from Camelot route last I heard Lancelot mocked him for being a healer, saying no slave has that kind of mind set. I'm starting to think that slave wasn't mad nor sick in the mind. I'm thinking he is the Merlin, Camelot is looking for. But whatever shall we do?"she asked and Dionysus wasn't sure as he sat on his horse and hummed to himself, thinking about this interested problem.
Of course, Dionysus knows the stories as will. Despite coming from a different time. Camelot was known and well known for many things, but most importantly it was known for its magic. Otherwise known as their fool. The Golden era of Camelot is what they called it living with the most powerful of wizards of all times, he was no warlock he wasn't there for war couldn't handle war much less the sight of blood. People called him a weak point in Camelot plan and tried to kidnapped him because of it, but most couldn't get past the knights much less the guards.
And, then came the perfect Queen for Camelot King and everything turned for the worst at least that was the original stories of his era. The King feel for a Gwen and a storm blew something fierce when a Merlin was taken and kidnapped soon after, by a different Queen. He glanced over Athena way and wonder to himself if he was here in this time era. In this position. If this was the right era where everything good turned bad, like a perfect plum turning rotten.
Whom was the Queen? He wondered to himself. Then it dawned on him as he put two and two together. The Queen was Calliope and beside Lancelot was always said to be Gwen knight more then Arthur's. Which meant that slave he was looking for was Merlin, indeed.
"He was Merlin," said Dionysus.
"Merlin," said Athena. "Merlin the fool?"
"No, Merlin the friend at this rate."
"Merlin the friend? A slave being friends with royal blood? A Prince will go that low?"
"A King, will go that low." Dionysus correctly.
"A King? The man a King, he only looks twenty at the very least nineteen."
"Wed as well."
"Wed," Athena said in unbelievable doubt.
"Yes, wed. Wed to a Queen by the name of Guinevere who is said to sit on the throne as we speak. But her intentions is uncleared."
"Her intentions?"asked Athena.
"She has taken over the throne with her possible favourite Knight being apart of the charge that took place on that route to kidnapping the famous Merlin. Lancelot doesn't work with Arthur. He works with his Queen," said Dionysus.
"So, they have a mole. Is this true?"
"If it is then it would explain why the King wants our heads. Or, at the very least explain why he is looking for a slave. Unless, maybe the slave is used as a tracking com."
"A lure so, to speak," said Athena.
"Yes, in a sense bait."
"So, hunting men is his game and telling fantasy stories about his people is how he brings more slaves to him."
"It might be that way."
"Halt!"
The two horses came to a stop at the word.
"Who goes there?"
"Dionysus. Knight from the east and Athena knight of the east."
"Calliope men?"
"Indeed. Who is talking?"
"The one you saved."
To his surprised it was a young man in his teens dressed in red standing in the distance his hair black and his eyes blue.
"You're Arthur slave?"wonder Dionysus.
"I used to be. Why do you ask?"wonder the new comer.
"He's out looking for you killed our men in the process."
"I'm sorry for your lost. But there isn't much I can do about it. Arthur used to be a great Prince before he became King and married a Gwen. Now, the whole kingdom is following apart."
Then he heard it something modern and something blue it came out of nowhere sounding as if someone was stepping on the breaks, far too much. He wonder what it was and what it was doing, before suddenly something magical and blue appeared. A box.
And, then a man appeared dressed in a white coat and a top hat on his head he opened up the door and if he peeked inside he would noticed the strange man box was bigger on the inside then it was on the out. And, beside him was Imani as the man holds out his hand and Arthur men were heard rushing through the woodland the man said the magical words Dionysus had been waiting for.
"Come with me if you want to live," said the man.
"Come on. The both of you," said Dionysus.
"What? With him?"
"Yes, with him. You're Merlin right?"
"I haven't earned that name," said the slave.
"You have to me. You used your own magic to clean yourself up. So, now use it to escape. Come on."
"Alright. I'll will come, but only because I have nothing here to do."
"Same with you Athena," said Dionysus.
"But my Queen," she said.
"Will have your head chopped off if you return and you will lose your name."
"Very well."
And, somehow the man. Imani, Merlin, Athena, Dionysus and the horses all could fit inside the magical blue box and so the box was off again sending the young King mad in the process. For that was the last sight he saw.
