Monday I finish up my last summer school class social studies. Before heading out to my biweekly appointment with Dr. Likhtbaum, I go up to Mr. Neck. I think about Rachel last Friday and step up to him. Me: Excuse me Sir? Mr. Neck: How can I help you Sordino? Me: I'm just wondering what happened to the exchange students. I know that they left for the trip to France three weeks ago, but only one girl came back last Friday. Mr. Neck: All the exchange students went back to their home countries. Me: Really? So soon? Mr. Neck: Yeah, an exchange student is only here for the duration of the school year. Once the summer trip for international club ends, the exchange students have to go back directly to their home countries. It's better logistically as they are already at an airport at the end of the trip. Me: Ok, thanks. Mr. Neck: Don't mention it. I head for Dr. Likhtbaum's office.
