Hello there! Welcome my friends to the next chapter of Light Bringer Stories: The Witcher.
Hope your going to enjoy it as much as I had writing it and now on to the reviews.
dragon rose 11: Haha. I hope I can keep you interested throughout the story but where it's going... Cirifer (Ciri X Lucifer) Let's go! Actually when I began writing the first chapter, an encounter between Lucifer and Gaunter was one of the first things I started planning for this story.
girani4: Gone reduced to atoms. Okay bye.
James the apple: Now that is pretty funny that you didn't realize that. Yeah, I wanted to write something about Luci for a while now. Well hope you get entertained by the last chapter of Miraculous and hope to see you for the sequel as well.
Now story time.
A few months had passed since Ciri had sort of arrived at the Lux Penthouse. So far she could practice her powers and as Lucifer had assured her, there was no sign of the Wild Hunt. Aside from training she had been spending a lot of time with Lucifer, who seemed delighted in her presence as nearly every waking moment was devoted to having as much fun as possible and chasing whatever he desired at the moment.
She also has seen him preform more of his deals, but it wasn't just fulling some benign wishes and dreams he fulfilled. More than a few times, people had came up to request some sort of revenge. And if the revenge was justified, Lucifer was prepared and delighted to pay some evil unto evil.
It was one morning that Ciri stepped out of the guestroom which had pretty much become her own room. She went out of the hall and across the living room to where Lucifer's room was located. She stepped through the open arc only to see no sign of the handsome Devil, only a vacant bed with it's black silk sheets messily laying about.
"Lucifer?" Ciri said as she looked around to not find the man in his large walk-in closet filled with the finest clothes mostly in the colors white, purple, gold and black.
"Yes?"
Ciri turned around in the direction of the voice and all the blood rushing to her face as she beheld the sight standing at the piano in the middle of the living room. It was Lucifer, his usual combed hair now a messy bed head and he was butt naked.
"Oh my..." she said, averting her eyes from him, "Put some clothes on!"
"I was about to do that. But became parsed so I got something to drink." Lucifer said taking a sip from his drink, it takes a mere hair flip for him to style his hair back to it's back combed hair, "Then get some breakfast."
"...It's eleven o'clock." Ciri said still averting her gaze as she gestured to a nearby clock.
"Brunch then." Lucifer said with a shrug, "You wanna come with? Perhaps we can get some ice-cream from Andre. They have ice-cream were your from right?"
"Please put some clothes on." Ciri said with a slight plead in her voice.
"Why?" he said with a smirk placing his glass down on the piano as he approached her, "It's not like you hate it."
"Well I-I..." Ciri stuttered, her face heating up as blood rushed up, "I don't like it either."
"Oh come on." Lucifer said with a wink, "Maybe you and I could have some 'morning exercise'."
"When hell freezes over Lucifer." she told him.
"I can arrange that actually." he said with a laugh, "Come now. Don't say you wouldn't want a piece of this."
She couldn't help but take a quick peak at the handsome, lean, muscular form that is Lucifer Lux as he held his arms to the side to show off more of himself. As he slowly turn on the spot, she took in his flawless skin finding nothing put perfection. Her eyes trailed from his firm buttocks to his muscular back but what shocked her most what was on his upper back when she did found something.
"Lucifer..." Ciri said concerned.
"Yes?" he said smugly once he faced her again, "See something you like?" completely misreading the situation being confined he had enticed her.
"What happened to?" Ciri said, referring to the two large scar's on his upper back, between his shoulder blades which looked as if someone burned them into him. "My God..."
"Yes, I suppose it is his fault." Lucifer said sounding rather casual about his scars, "Well him and my brother."
"Your father, your family did that to you?" Ciri said, turning him around to get a closer look at the scars. But when she reached out Lucifer swiftly grabs her hand when she is about to touch the scar on his back.
"Don't." Lucifer said looking like he is on the verge of tears, "Please."
Ciri looked up into his amber eyes to see that this reaction was based solely on instinct and even he is surprised to do so.
"Right... I'll..." Lucifer said letting go of her, "I'll get dressed." and he quickly turned around and disappeared into walk-in closet.
Later that day, Ciri sitting in what Lucifer called a 'car' as he drove to the city of Paris on Earth-626. For the occasion, she was wearing a modernize take on her usual outfit, white dress shirt to go with her dark brown leather pants and tan boots
"Are we there yet?" Potato repeated from the back seat, "Are we there yet?"
"If you keep that up, you won't get there at all!" Lucifer said annoyed as he looked in his rearview mirror of his white Aston Martin DBS Superleggera as he was driving them towards a park, "As I was saying. There's one thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach... All the damn vampires."
"So we are not going to talk about..." Ciri said, gesturing to her back.
"Oh, about that..." Lucifer said suddenly slamming the breaks as he drifted the car into a open parking space, "Oh, look. We have arrived."
They walked into the park and the sound of singing is heard in the distance and indeed, there was the singing ice-cream vendor, the same man Lucifer had helped a few months ago. He walked over to him as the man sang, "My name is Andre! The sweetheart matchmaker! With one scoop or two, I'll find up for you with magical ice-cream flavors!"
"Mr. Lux!" Andre said happily shaking hands with the man, "Having a nice day out with the family?"
Lucifer did a double take as he and Ciri took a quick glance at each other. "No, no. Nothing of the sort." he said with a chuckle, "Cirilla is just a friend and Potato is... Potato."
"What he means?" she said as the man scooped up ice-cream for them, "Ciri, does singing ice-cream slav think you and Luci are Potato's roditeli?"
"Vanilla for his hair and orange like his amber eyes." Andre said, handing the ice-cream to Ciri, "Eat this, my dear, and your love will..."
"Um, No! I... There's been a mistake!" Ciri said quickly, stares at the ice-cream, "I'm not in love with anyone."
"Why of course you are, my little one." Andre said, "When there's love burning in one's heart, Andre knows it from the start. Enjoy your ice-cream."
"Amber eyes?" Lucifer said as Andre scooped up his ice-cream, "...Who could that possibly be? Who has amber eyes?"
"Coconut like her hair and green tea like her eyes." Andre said.
"This is suppose to show who I'm in love with?... I thought it would be something with chocolate." Lucifer said unconcerned, "Do I even know someone with ashen hair?"
"You both are very stupid." Potato said as she got her strawberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, "So who is Potato to be in love with? A thief?"
"There's love in your eyes!" the ice cream vendor said, "Andre can see it clear as day! This love is true!"
"Uhm... Right." Lucifer said getting a taste of his delicious frozen treat, "Still this is great ice-cream!" taking out his wallet to pay. Taking out a few bills from his wallet and handed them to Andre.
"But Mr. Lux." Andre said.
"Now now Andre. The deal was for me to get free ice-cream. Cirilla and Potato aren't included in that deal." Lucifer said as he always played his deals to the letter, "This should cover for the two of them." handing over enough money to cover the ice-cream.
The three sat down in a bench at the park, continued to talk and eat their ice-cream as they did some people spotting.
"Come on." Lucifer said, sitting back with his legs crossed, "It's not that difficult."
"I don't know Lucifer." Ciri said looking at her ice cream, "I have never driven anything other than a horse."
"Well if Ciri is driving us back home, I'm walking." Potato said jumping up from the bench, "See you two back at Morning Star." and like that she had disappeared.
"That's Potato for you." Ciri said, over the moths having gotten used to the strange child with her unusual and unexplained abilities.
"That she is." Lucifer said as he stood up, "Come, there is much of the city I can still show you."
Lucifer and Ciri walk up to the top of the Eiffel Tower, the duo enjoyed the view as the sun began to go down. They stood there, along with many other couples, watching the setting sun from the top of the tower.
Ciri shivered a little when she felt a cold wind swept over the top of the tower. She felt something being placed over he shoulders. It was Lucifer's blazer, which was a few sizes too big for her, but kept her warm enough.
"Thanks." Ciri said giving him a rare, genuine smile. And it was that moment that it started.
She turned to look at the city, "It's beautiful." as she leaned on the railing.
"Yeah... It is." Lucifer muttered but it wasn't the city he was looking at, "Cirilla... Are we friends?" joining her at the railing as well as he too looked at the city.
Ciri was caught off guard at the suddenness of the question and the sudden shift in Lucifer's usual casual and nonchalant mood. "Well..." she said looking from him back to the city, "I guess we are in a way."
"That's good to know." Lucifer said with a nod a small smile to himself, "I'm not really alone here."
"What is with you Lucifer?" she said looking at him, "Why are you suddenly so touchy feely?"
"Spending time with you, it made me think. Do you think I'm the Devil because I'm inherently evil, or just because dear old dad decided I was?" Lucifer said before waving it off, "That was unfair to ask of you. Let's go back to Morning Star, your driving."
Ciri is driving Lucifer's Austin Martin through the city back to Morning Star and despise being immortal, Lucifer is visibly distressed as Ciri constantly jerks and brakes the car.
"That's the brake!" Lucifer said as his head slammed against the glove compartment. With a groan he sat back up, "Let's try again. You ready?"
A motorcycles siren goes off behind them, painting them in blue lights and Lucifer looks in the rear view mirror to see that it is a police bike.
"What is that?" she said.
"It's a cop, something like a guard. Pull over the car." Lucifer said as he helped her drive to the side of the road, "Let me handle it." fixing his suit.
He opened the window before telling Ciri to turn off the engine as the cop walked up to the car window.
"Do you know why I pulled you over, ma'am?" the officer said, the question directed at Ciri.
"Well, obviously, you felt the need to exercise your limited powers and punish me for teaching my friend here to drive." Lucifer said, leaning forward so he could see the officer, "It's okay. I understand. I like to punish people too."
"License and registration." the officer said annoyed.
"Of course." Lucifer said nonchalant as he reached for his pocket, "Coming right up." as he took his wallet and began counting a few bills.
"Are you trying to bribe me, sir?" the officer said, raising his hand.
"Yes, of course." Lucifer said bluntly, holding out the stack of money but the officer looked perplexed, "Is that not enough? Take more. It's only money." taking out even more bills from his wallet.
"It's against the law, sir." the officer said.
"You people are funny about your laws, aren't you?" Lucifer said as he stared into the officer's eyes, "You break the law sometimes, don't you?"
The officer stares into his eyes, he stiffened a moment "Sometimes..." the officer said, getting a stupid, dreamy grin on his face, "I put my siren on and drive really fast for no reason at all, just because I can."
"Right? And why wouldn't you? It's fun!" Lucifer said with a grin, "It feels good to get away with something, doesn't it?"
"Yeah!" the officer said as he snapped out of it, looking shocked by what he said.
"It's okay, officer. People like to tell me things. Those deep, dark, naughty little desires that are on their mind. Must be something about this face." he said amused, holding out the stack of money, "You're tempted to keep that, aren't you? Well what are you waiting for, permission? Go on, take it, buy yourself something pretty. You deserve it."
With some hesitation, the officer reached out and took the money.
"But if you don't mind." Lucifer said, "We really must be on our way."
"Oh, yeah, of course." the officer said, holding up his hand, "Hey, have a nice day, sir, ma'am."
"You too officer." Lucifer said as he gestured for Ciri to turn on the engine, "You too."
"What was that?" Ciri said as her driving began to improve.
"Just a skill I have. I prefer to use my wit and charm over force." Lucifer said, sitting back into his seat, "Any thug can use force and doing so shows little creativity or imagination. I just love to prove that I'm the smartest guy in the room who doesn't even need his virtually limitless powers to beat his opponents."
"Crushing enemies with a handicap is definitely the hallmark of somebody as prideful as you." Ciri said with a smile as they returned to the road, "What is this about virtually limitless powers?"
"Well... I had virtually limitless power back in the days when I still had my wings." Lucifer said a bit nostalgic, "But even without them, I'm stronger, faster, durable and more magically inclined than the vast majority. And as I just demonstrated, my wit and charm are my most dangerous tools and weapons."
That evening, Lucifer and Ciri exited the elevator to the penthouse, revealing a table illuminated by candlelight with two dishes and some wine already prepared.
"Oh, what's this?" Lucifer said with a grin, "Dinner?"
"You are so weird sometimes." Ciri said shaking her head
"I've been called worse." Lucifer said, leading Ciri to a seat and pulling her seat out of her.
The two eat dinner together, talking about various things, with Lucifer making the occasional blunt comment, and stealing glances at Ciri.
"I have been wondering, Lucifer." she said curiously, "Why do you play the piano so much?"
"I like the music." Lucifer said with a shrug as he rested in his chair, "It helps me forget."
"Forget what?" Ciri said.
But a silence followed as Lucifer frowned as if really thinking about the question. After the short silence the Devil finally said, "I guess it worked!"
He chuckled a little at his own joke but was surprised him the most was that Ciri let out a giggle as well.
"Okay after that question." Ciri said, "I believe it was your turn to tell me something about yourself."
"Was it? Oh well, I guess I can tell you something." Lucifer said as he began to think of something that would amuse her, "How about... ah yes, that one time. It was during my adventure with Emily in Serkonos during her quest to reclaim her throne."
It happened on Earth-482, though it would be more appropriate to say universe as each 'Earth-' is it's own universe within a specific Arcmoani Network. But it so happens that planet Earth is the center of the Multiverse, which leads to the Omniverse which contains all the Multiverses.
It's a bit boring to explain.
Anyways, Earth-482, the island of Serkonos, located on the southernmost part of that version of Earth. It's known for its warm, temperate climate, and vast beaches.
It was one afternoon that Emily and I were walking through the capital of the island, Karnaca. It was earlier that day that she had received a letter from Wyman, the happiness it brought her made me feel something I was completely unfamiliar with at the time.
"So... what did this..." Lucifer said, sounding a bit miffed, "Whyman's had to say?"
"It's Wyman." Emily corrected him.
"Yes, what did your boyfriend... Or girlfriend?" Lucifer said with a raised eyebrow, "I honestly have no idea what gender..."
"Me and Wyman?" Emily said amused, "Feeling jealous, are you?"
"Me jealous?" Lucifer said with a humorless laugh, "I do not get jealous, my dear. I'm the one who inspires passion in others."
Despite my best efforts I couldn't ignore the slight pain in my chest, in all the years of my existence, I had never once been jealous. After all what did the Devil have to be jealous about?
"If you say so." Emily said shaking her head as she quickly ran towards a gathering mass of people which I somehow missed.
On top of a sixth story building was the shape of a man. Emily moved through the crowd, her need to help others took over before she realized that she had left the well dressed male behind.
"Maybe he'll forgive me." Emily muttered.
"Oh God there's another one!"
Emily follows the citizen's arm as it pointed to the ledge, who she sees standing on the ledge nearly made her stomach do flips.
"Hey Emily!" Lucifer yelled as he waved at her, "You need your roots done!" he moved towards the man standing on the ledge, and stood beside him.
"I've made up my mind." the man said, "You can't stop me."
"What?" Lucifer said unconcerned, "Oh no, I'm not here to stop you, if you wanna jump go for it."
"Is this some sort of reverse psychology?" the man said slightly confused.
"No, quite serious." Lucifer said gesturing to the ledge, "Go for it."
"Alright..." he said, taking a step forward off the ledge, "Here goes." but Lucifer arm suddenly halts his march.
"I do have one question before you pop off." Lucifer said, "See, I'm trying to understand jealousy, it's a new concept to me and you Karl are the perfect person to explain it to me."
"What are you?" Karl said confused, "How do you even know my name..."
Karl suddenly screams as Lucifer grabs him by the collar of his shirt and dangles him off the ledge. "Manners Karl, manners!" Lucifer said, "We were just talking."
"Fine, fine!" Karl said, "I'll talk!"
"Really?" Lucifer said slightly mocking, "Cause I could just..." he suddenly releases the grip on Karl's shirt, he screams once again before pulling him back again.
"Oh God..." Karl said terrified, "Oh God..."
"Yeah, save your breath. When it comes to this sort of thing he can be sort of judgy." Lucifer said dryly as he gave a quick glance to the sky above before turning to the man next to him, "Right back to the matter at hand. Now digging into your past a bit, you were so jealous that your girlfriend left you for another man that you shot him. Help me understand why you did it."
"What're you talking about?" Karl said confused, "I'm jumping because he's dead."
"Don't lie to me Karl." Lucifer warned him.
"I'm not lying, I-I'm jumping because he's dead..." Karl said as tears began to leak out of his eyes, "We were in love, and I just..." the rest was incoherent as he dissolves into a puddle of sobs and groans.
"Oh, I just realized. You're not jealous at all." Lucifer said slightly disgusted, "You're just sad... pathetic really."
"Aren't you supposed to tell me I've got a lot to live for?" Karl said.
"I wish I could Karl, but your life seems really bleak." Lucifer said crossing his arms in front of his chest, "Ironically there's nowhere to go but up." as he began to think himself
"Yeah..." Karl said taking Lucifer out of his thought as he leans away from the ledge, "Yeah, you know what maybe the worst is behind me... I think I'd like to go in now."
"I wasn't offering." Lucifer said gesturing to the window, "But sure go right on ahead."
Karl walks past Lucifer while he peers over the ledge, and gives the crowd two thumbs up. They cheer for him as he made his way down the stairs, and back to Emily who just shook her head.
"Cheer up." Lucifer said, "You act as if I killed a puppy."
Back in the present, the Devil and the princess had finished their dinner as Lucifer told that story. The two found themselves sitting on the sofa across from one another, the wine glasses they used stood on the coffee table as Lucifer had removed his white blazer.
"How bout we play a game?" Ciri said slightly intoxicated.
"I think you've had too much wine Cirilla." Lucifer said, looking at the now empty wine bottle, "Though if you want how about a game of gwent..."
Ciri smiles at Lucifer, red tints lined her cheeks, "Please... I'm going to ask you questions." she said, "And you have to answer me."
"Fine." Lucifer said giving in, "That doesn't sound hard."
"Truthfully."
"I don't lie Cirilla." he said, "Lucifer's code."
"Make it a deal." Ciri said leaning forward, "You don't break deals, so make it one so you have to tell me the truth."
Ciri puts out her hand out, Lucifer looks at it before he let out a sigh and shakes it. Lucifer's glass of wine is set to the side replacing it with a glass of whiskey almost filled to the brim.
"You first." Ciri said gesturing to him, "Who are you really?"
"I already told you Cirilla." Lucifer said with a slight annoyed tone, "I'm the Devil."
"I'm still not entirely sure what that it." Ciri said.
"Where do I begin? The grandest fall in the history of all time?" Lucifer said sounding slightly miffed, "Or perhaps the far more agonizing punishment that followed? To be blamed for every morsel of evil that humanity's endured, every atrocity in my name?"
He takes a gulp from the whiskey, reducing the glass to half of its original content.
"You're not a bad person Lucifer." Ciri said.
"Cirilla." Lucifer said, "I'm the Devil."
"Yes, and from what I've learned from you these past few months is that whatever you are, you aren't evil." Ciri said with an assuring tone, "You punish evil, help people reach their desires, that's who you are."
Lucifer downed the rest of his glass, and refilled it soon after, feeling touched by what she said about him.
"Right, my turn..." he said thinking of a question, "Why in the Worlds are you here with me risking liver failure instead of doing literally anything else?"
Ciri doesn't answer, she instead fills up her glass and begins to drink more and more wine. To his surprise she grabbed the bottle of whiskey from behind Lucifer and began to chug it vigorously.
"Am I an idiot? I care just to get hurt? Because of my Elder Blood? Why me?" Ciri said, "After everything I've been through, why am I the one to get hurt?"
Lucifer drapes an arm around her, and pets her on the head, "No, you're not an idiot..." Lucifer said soothingly, "You're just a kind person, who puts others before herself... It's a horrible irony that my father invented."
Ciri is silent and just sobs on his shoulder, Lucifer just sits there and just waits until she calmed herself down enough. Ciri raised her head, locking eyes with Lucifer, her face red because of the alcohol she'd ingested.
"What is it you want?" Lucifer said.
"I don't know..." Ciri said shaking her head, "I'm not sure about that even myself..."
"Cirilla, look at me." Lucifer said, making her look up as he softly stroked her face looking deeply into her eyes, "Tell me, what is it that you truly desire?"
Ciri stares into his eyes, she stiffened for a moment before she said, "I-I do not want to be alone again. I do not want to be frightened. I do not want to lose everything again. I do not want to lose Geralt or Yennefer... I do not want..."
Without warning Ciri closes the gap between them, their lips are about to collide in a sudden flare of intimacy, yet Lucifer cups Ciri's cheek and stopped her.
"What's happening?" she said slightly confused.
"I believe..." Lucifer said, confused himself, "I'm saying no..."
"What?" Ciri said confused, "Why're you saying no? Is it because of..." she gestured to the side of her face where her scare was located.
"No, it has nothing to do about that scar." Lucifer said, before softly whispering before realizing what is wrong, "Do you... are you ashamed of it?"
She turned her gaze away from him as if answering his question. She felt her hair being gently moved aside as his soft fingers cherished the skin on her face where her scar was as if it was the most precious and delicate thing in the world.
A warm sensation flowed from him to her, she looked up to see Lucifer smile at her. Not the amused, smug or arrogant grin graced his handsome features. She had gotten used to those. No, this was a gentle smile, one she thought would fit an angel, even if he was a fallen one.
"Well you shouldn't be ashamed of it. It only adds to the fierceness that compliments your beauty. And if it didn't, I'm pretty enough for the both of us." Lucifer said his usual smugness shining through even though he sounded so gentle, "But while I'd usually jump at the chance to fulfill my carnal desire, for some reason... I can't."
Ciri sighs, and pushes herself off of Lucifer. "What am I doing?" she asked herself, "Why am I here drunk, and throwing myself at you?"
"Believe me, my dear. It happens to the best of us." Lucifer said with a smile, "Let's just sit here, and talk okay?"
He was still recovering since he himself didn't really know he could bring himself to reject a drunken Ciri kissing him, and possibly go all the way. This was going to be a long night, Lucifer didn't seem to mind however as it was Ciri that was sitting next to him.
That's the chapter, hope you enjoyed.
Many thanks to everyone who read, reviews, favorites or follows this, you beauties.
Just a small author note, the Emily from the flashback is Emily Kaldwin from the Dishonored games, specifically her Dishonored II incarnation.
I hope you will join me next time. Still need to think of a sign of queote.
