Chapter 27 - Quarter Final Over
Azlan and his wives were eating breakfast with Ash and his friends. Here Ash's mom and Professor Oak also came to cheer Ash on and see his live battle.
"Mom, he is Azlan Starwind, these are his wives Sabrina, Elysia and Freya. He has also participated in the Kanto League," Ash introduced Azlan's team to his mom, and his mom to Azlan.
"Nice to meet you, also best wishes to both of you for reaching the final," She gives her blessings.
"If you win this match you both are allowed to battle with six Pokemon in the next round," Samuel Oak informed.
"And I hope, you regularly changed your pajamas, and mmmppphhh," Ash puts his hands on his mom's mouth to stop from revealing his embarrassing situation.
"I am your mom, so you need to know, a mom duty is really tough," Delia explained, after their breakfast, everyone goes to the battlefield, for their upcoming match.
They all head into the elevator and as the doors begin to close a boy runs up, asking them to hold the elevator. He sees Pikachu and pets him on the head. Ash warns him that Pikachu might shock him, but to his surprise Pikachu is enjoying the experience.
Suddenly, the power goes out and the elevator stops! The boy tells them that he can get it running again, if Ash can use Pikachu for his Thundershock attack.
Ash agrees, and the boy opens the device and lets Pikachu use Thundershock on it. The lights in the elevator turn back on and the elevator begins to run again.
Professor Oak remarks he's glad they opened the door for him. He tells his name was Ritchie and Ash and Azlan introduce themselves. Azlan found, Ash and Ritchie are going to battle each other in the next match.
Finally Ash and Ritchie go to their battle together, at the same time Azlan also goes to his battle with some Johnny Storm guy named.
Azlan reached the stadium, he noticed Johnny was already on the green side present, he went to the red side.
"This is the battle of Top 32, the winner goes in the Top 16, this is a battle between Johnny Storm of Celadon City and our favorite trainer Azlan Starwind. This is the three vs three battle, once the opponent has no Pokemon left to battle, then they will lose the battle. Now, both trainers send your Pokemon," Referee announced.
"Hypno, take the stage," Azlan commanded, and Hypno, by levitating, came on the stage.
"Butterfree, battle for me," Johnny throws a Pokeball and Butterfree comes into the field. "Butterfree Sleep Powder," Johnny ordered, Butterfree releases the powder which went in Hypno and he falls asleep
"Wow, this is really amazing, someone defeated the Azlan's Pokemon, Hypno is eliminated, due to falling asleep. Trainer send your next Pokemon," Referee said while raising the flag toward Johnny side.
"Charizard, take the place," Azlan said, and Charizard flew on the stage.
"Butterfree, once again Sleep Powder," Johnny said and the Butterfree released the powder which went toward Charizard.
"Charizard, dodge it," Azlan commanded, and Charizard easily dodged it by flying. "Charizard, now Flamethrower." Charizard opened his mouth, and released the fire, which hit Butterfree, knocking it out.
"There everything is going amazing, Butterfree knocked out by the Charizard's attack and she is unable to battle, trainer sends your next Pokemon,'' Referee said while raising the flag with Azlan's side.
"Pikachu, ready for battle" Johnny said and his Pokemon jumped from his shoulder and went to the ground. "Pikachu, uses Thunderbolt," Pikachu releases a massive thunder on Charizard which is more effective on him, but he manages to stand.
"Charizard, use Air Slash," Azlan said, and Charizard uses her wings to create an attack of air in slash, which hits the Pikachu.
"Charizard, now take him in the sky, and use Seismic Toss," Azlan said and Charizard grabbed the Pikachu, as he went in the sky.
But before they flew in the sky. "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt," Johnny ordered, Pikachu cheeks start sparking and he releases massive thunder on the Charizard at the coming down.
Causing both of them to collide on the ground which hurt them, both of Pokemon's eyes are swirled. "Amazing, it's totally amazing, Charizard and Pikachu are unable to battle, both trainers send out their last Pokemon," Referee said and the crowd erupted in cheers.
"Charmander, take the battle distance," Johnny said and his Charmander came out for battle.
"Leafeon, take on the stage," Azlan commanded, and Leafeon jumped on the battlefield.
"Charmander, use Flamethrower." Zippo releases fire from his mouth on the order of Johnny toward Leafeon.
"Leafeon dodge it and use Tackle," Leafeon's speed is good; she easily dodge it before hitting him.
"Charmander, use Iron Tail," Charmander's tail glowed and he hit the Leafeon, "Zippo, Flamethrower." Zippo released the fire on the Leafeon, which gave it more hurt.
"Leafeon, Leech Seed," Azlan commands, and the Leafeon fires a seed, which goes on the Charmander, and then from the seeds leaves and vines come out, which captures the Charmander.
It drains nearly all of the energy from the Charmander. "End with Tail Whip." Leafeon jumped towards the Charmander, and before he recovered, Leafeon attacked him with his tail hard, making him faint, with swirling in his eyes.
"It's an awesome battle, Charmander is unable to battle, since Johnny has lost all his Pokemon, Azlan claims the victory and goes in Top 16," Referee said, raising the flag toward Azlan, Leafeon jumped in Azlan's arm, Azlan patted her.
Azlan handshake to Johnny, "You do amazing battle buddy."
"Thanks, but still, I lost. Best of luck in your next match," Johnny congratulated him and left the stadium.
Azlan comes out of the Stadium and he finds that Ash is followed by his huge fan followers. Azlan commands Hypno to safely brings him out from between the fans.
"Ash, how is your battle?" Azlan asked.
"It was a tough battle, Ritchie was so good, but in the end, due to my Bulbasaur evolving into Wartortle, I won the battle," Ash replied, as while talking they went inside the Pokemon Centre to rest, and prepared for their next battle.
Inside Azlan's private room, Sabrina, Freya and Elysia were discussing the top 16 battle, since it was the 6 vs 6 battle, and he didn't want to use the Mewtwo, and except of Mewtwo, he has only 4 Pokemon, so they were in searching for a solution.
"Why not take my Dragonite and Sylveon, and after the battle return it to me," Elysia discussed.
"Or, you can also take my Espeon, Clefairy or Gardevoir," Freya gives him the option. Sabrina also offered her Alakazam.
After some discussion, Azlan decided to take Dragonite and Espeon.
Azlan was ready for the next battle, his wives wished him good luck when the announcer called him on the field. Azlan comes in the red side, and from the green side some guy comes.
"This is the battle between the Azlan Starwind and Jackson of Ecruteak Town, this is a full Pokemon battle, if one side of three Pokemon is defeated, we can take a break and change the field. If one side of all Pokemon is defeated, we can get our winner, substitution is allowed, now the battle begins," Referee declared.
"Azumarill, show your water power," Jackson said while throwing a Pokeball, revealing the Water Marill Pokemon.
"Win the battle," Azlan said and his Leafeon jumped on the stage.
"Leafeon, you have chosen the wrong Pokemon, Azumarill finished him with your Water Gun" Jackson said, Azumarill opened his mouth and released the water at bullet speed, it went toward Leafeon and successfully hit him.
It created water in the area making it unable to see to the audience what happened there. When the water disappears it shows Leafeon standing there without anything happening to him.
"Now it's my turn" Azlan said, "Leafeon, Leaf Blade," Leafeon gathered the leaves in blade shape, then he started rolling very fast and hit the Azumarill many times, when he stopped attacking, Azumarill fainted there.
"Azumarill is knocked out and Leafeon becomes the winner, green side trainer, send your next Pokemon," the Referee declared.
"It's really a good battle, I am making a mistake by thinking you are weak, but this time, I am not going easily," Jackson throws a Pokeball, revealing the Electric Magnet Pokemon. "Magneton, attack by Thunder Wave," he commanded. Magneton released the wave of thunder, toward Leafeon, but Leafeon easily dodged it.
"Leafeon, once again Leaf Blade" Azlan commanded. Leafeon started attacking Magneton by gathering the leaves very sharp like a sword, Magneton lost his energy.
"Now, Razor Leaf," he commanded, Leafeon used his both hands and then sharp leaves with blades edged in X shape flowing toward Magneton and hit him. Magneton falls on the ground, and his eyes are swirled. "It shows the Magneton is unable to battle, winner is Leafeon, green trainer send your next Pokemon" Referee announced.
AUDIENCE SEAT
"Leafeon is good, she easily defeated the two Pokemon," Sabrina comments.
"Yes, Azlan has used Leafeon in most of the battle," Freya agreed.
"It looks like he didn't even need to use our Pokemon, which we have given him," Elysia also agreed.
BACK TO BATTLE
"Wow you are very tough, but still, I will fight with my full energy," Jackson said, throwing a Pokeball, revealing the Fire Pokemon Magmar. "Magmar, begin by Flamethrower," he commanded. Magmar releases the fire on the Leafeon and successfully hits him.
"Now, Fire Blast" Magmar releases a ball of energy filled with fire toward Leafeon, it also hits the Leafeon successfully and the ball is also blasted it gives heavy damage to Leafeon.
"Now, final attack, Earthquake,'' Jackson commanded. Magmar gives a very hard jump to his body on the battlefield, and crashes the surface. Leafeon falls on the ground because his balance is not stable and he faints.
"Leafeon is unable to battle and the winner is Magmar, red side send your next Pokemon,"' Referee declared.
AUDIENCE SEAT
"Wow, it shows Jackson turned the battle with his Meganium, may Azlan win this battle," Someone announced.
"What the fuck this, Azlan easily win this battle, because he has five Pokemon left," Freya shouted in anger.
"We know Azlan easily wins this, but they do not know whether he wins this battle or not," Elysia explained and calmed Freya.
BACK TO BATTLE
"I didn't take you seriously, it is my mistake, Lucario took the stage," Azlan commanded, and the Fox Aura Pokemon jumped on the stage.
"Magmar, once again Flamethrower," Jackson ordered, Magmar once more released the fire from his mouth towards Lucario..
"Lucario, save yourself with Aura Shield, and then use Aura Spheres," Azlan ordered. Lucario quickly created the Aura Shield, making the Flamethrower ineffective, then he gathered the massive energy in his hand, and threw it on the Magmar.
Magmar fainted from this attack. "Magmar is unable to battle, winner is Lucario, since green trainer lost his three Pokemon, we are taking a five minute break," The Referee declared.
AUDIENCE SEAT
"Wow, this tournament is very interesting, we can meet after the break," Announcer announced.
"No one can defeat Azlan," Freya said. "Yep let's go to the restroom," Sabrina said, and three of them went towards Azlan's locker room.
After the five minute break, the Announcer announced, "Trainers, please report on the field, the battle will now begin."
Azlan and Jackson came on their side, the crowd cheered and roared. "If you both are ready, then we can continue the battle," Referee asked, both nodded. "Now, the battle will begin," He declared.
"Now, I'm showing you, who is the real loser, Nidoqueen, take the battle place and defeat them," Jackson said, while throwing his Pokeball, revealing the Lover Pokemon.
"Lucario, defeat it on your own," Azlan commanded, and Lucario jumped on the stage.
"Nidoqueen attack with Rock Throw," Jackson commanded. Nidoqueen start attacking by throwing rock on Lucario. But Lucario easily dodged it, then he jumped and started kicking the Nidoqueen. After some kicking, Lucario knocked out the Nidoqueen by Aura Sphere.
"This is a quick battle, and Nidoqueen is unable to battle, the winner is Lucario, green side trainer sends your next Pokemon," The Referee declared.
AUDIENCE SEAT
"This boy needs punishment for saying our Azlan is a loser," Freya said. "He already got punished by a quick defeat," Sabrina answered.
BACK TO BATTLE
"You have won this battle, but this one is my win," Jackson said while throwing a Pokeball that revealed the Fire Racing Pokemon.
"Lucario, once again end the battle with your own," Azlan commands.
Lucario also didn't waste any time, he jumped and started kicking the Arcanine, while his leg was releasing the fire. He didn't give any time to Arcanine to recover and gathered the Aura in his hands, then he fired the Aura Sphere on the Arcanine.
It perfectly hits the Arcanine, it creates a small explosion, when the smoke has faded, it shows Arcanine fall on the ground with his eyes swirling. "Arcanine is unable to battle, the winner is Lucario, green side trainer sends your next Pokemon," The Referee declared.
AUDIENCE SEAT
"Just one win left, and then Azlan will win this battle," Freya comments.
"Yep, he will easily win this battle," Sabrina agreed.
BACK TO BATTLE
"It's time for my starter Pokemon," Jackson said while tossing the Pokeball, revealing the Kanto Water Starter's last evolution.
"Then, let's battle with my starter, Lucario came back. Charizard takes the stage," Azlan commands, Lucario jumps back on the side of Azlan, while Charizard flies on the Arena.
"Blastoise, use Rapid Sun," Jackson commanded. Blastoise releases the rays of sun toward Charizard, but he easily deflects it.
"Charizard, use Dragon Rage," Azlan commanded, Charizard engulfed in red energy, and attacked on Blastoise. "Now, end by Seismic Toss," Charizard grabs the Blastoise, Blastoise tries to get out by Bite but he is unsuccessful.
Charizard goes upward and after some height, he comes downward with spinning. When he is near to ground, he throws the Blastoise toward ground, causing Blastoise to collide in ground with speed and knock out.
"Blastoise is unable to battle, since he is green side trainer last Pokemon, winner is Azlan Ketchum, and he goes in top 8 successfully claiming his place in the Quarter Final," Referee announced.
After giving some autographs to his new fans, Azlan came back to the hotel, which allowed for the trainers of the Quarter Finalist and some of their relatives.
After two days, all of the Quarter Finalists had decided, Ash Ketchum had also won his battle, and he successfully entered the Quarter Finalist.
"So, who is your opponent," Azlan asked Ash.
"Don't know more about her, she is named Leaf Green, and all of the tournaments she has used a single Pokemon to advance till now," Ash replied, "What's about your?"
"She is Assunta, she is also a tough opponent," Azlan answered.
"Good Night," Ash said, and went towards his room, Azlan also returned back to his room.
Next day, many people came to see the Quarter Finalists. Azlan reached the Arena, on his opposite side, Assunta had already arrived.
"This battle is for the trainer to reach the top four, this is between our favorite trainer Azlan Starwind and Assunta from Saffron City. This is a 6 on 6 battle, substitution is allowed. When one side loses three Pokemon, we will take a break. When one side loses all his Pokemon, the winner passes to Top 4, trainers send your Pokemon," Referee explained.
"You are the kid who easily wins many battles, but it is different, because I am not going easy. Rhydon, battle dance," Assunta shouted, while throwing her Pokeball, from it the Rock and Ground Pokemon came into the battlefield.
"Charizard, its battle time," Azlan said, and the orange fire lizard came on the battlefield against Rhydon.
"Rhydon, Earthquake." Rhydon started rumbling the ground, which caused the whole ground to shake in fear.
"Charizard, up to the sky," Charizard flies in the sky making the Earthquake move ineffective. "Now, Fire Spin," Azlan ordered, Charizard released the fire in spinning, which captured Rhydon in a circle, and slowly slowly went toward him.
"Rhydon, Dig," Assunta said and Rhydon dug in the ground to ignore the fire.
"Charizard, Flamethrower on hole," Charizard released the massive fire in the hole, making the underground feel with heat, after some time Rhydon came out and fainted.
"Rhydon is unable to battle, trainer sends your next Pokemon," Referee said and raised the flag toward Azlan.
"You have defeated my one Pokemon, but I have five left, Venomoth takes the place," Assunta throws a Pokeball and it's revealed the poison bug.
Azlan recalled his Charizard, "Leafeon, ready for battle," the grass evolution Eevee went to Arena. "Leafeon, use Razor Leaf!" Leafeon fired leaf projectiles at the Venomoth.
"Psybeam," Venomoth's eyes glowed blue before it shot a beam of psychic energy on the incoming leaves, the Psybeam got through and it made contact with Leafeon.
"Get close." Leafeon didn't hesitate to rush toward Venomoth.
"Venomoth, use Confusion!" Venomoth's eyes glowed blue again.
"Solarbeam." Leafeon gather the energy of sun and fired it onto Venomoth before it was able to use Confusion. "Now, Razor Leaf," Leafeon released the Projectile leaf which perfectly hit the Venomoth and knocked him out.
"Venomoth is unable to battle, winner is Leafeon, trainer sends your next Pokemon," Referee declared and raised the flag toward Azlan.
"You are going very fast, I need to stop you, Fearow flies for battle," Assunta said and released the angry flying bird.
Azlan recalled his Leafeon "Hypno, take the position," A Pokemon with a Pendulum in his hands jumped on the stage.
"Hypno, use Disable!" Azlan instructed. Hypno's eyes began to glow light blue, and suddenly, Fearow's body became outlined in a light blue glow. It immediately appeared to be unable to move.
"Now, Hypno! Hit it with a Thunder Punch!" Azlan yelled. Hypno swiftly flew up to Fearow and then struck it in the back with a fist cloaked in sparkling yellow electricity. Fearow screamed out in pain and was sent hurtling down toward the ground, where it crashed into the earth and fainted.
"Fearow is unable to battle, winner is Hypno, since Green side lost her three Pokemon, we are taking a small break," Referee declared raising the flag toward Azlan.
Azlan reached his locker's room, his wives followed him inside. "Wow, dear you are truly doing great," Sabrina praised.
"Yes, now only 3 Pokemon left to win," Freya nodded.
"After it will be the Semi Final, then the Finals," Elysia replied, after calculating the rest of the Pokemon battle is left. After some talking and resting, the break was over, and Azlan returned back to the Arena.
"Now, please send your Pokemon," The Referee announced. "Alakazam, take the Place," Assunta said after throwing her Pokeball, and the meditate fox came there.
"Lucario, ready for battle," Azlan said and the Aura Fox jumped on the stage. "Lucario, use Blaze Kick," Lucario was ready to use his kicks, but before he was released.
Assaunta commanded, "Alakazam, use Psychic." Alakazam stopped Lucario with his Psychic. "Now, Thunder Punch" Alakazam hands glow with Thunder, he comes toward Lucario to hit him.
"Dodged it, by jumping in the air and unleashed your Aura Sphere." Lucario jumped before he was hit by Thunder Punch, and he released the blue ball which hit Alakazam and he collapsed to the ground.
Alakazam got up, but he was tired, "End with Force Palm." Lucario created a shocked wave in his hands, and sent it straight to Alakazam who was not able to dodge the attack, and fell flat on the ground with his eyes swirled.
"Alakazam is unable to battle, the winner is Tauros, trainers please send your next Pokemon," The Referee declared.
"Machoke, come on the ground," Assaunta said while throwing the Pokeball which shows the fighter Pokemon. "It's time for revenge. Machoke, Karate Chop," Assaunta said and Machoke went toward Lucario to hit him by making his hand like chop.
"When he comes near, then you use Low Kick," Azlan said, Lucario waited for the coming of Machoke. When Machoke reached near Lucario and was ready to hit him, at the same time Lucario attacked Machoke's leg, or continued attacking him. Machoke falls on the ground and his heavy size also gives him heavy damage.
"Machoke, stand up and use Cross Chop" Machoke attacked his forehead to Lucario, and Lucario collapsed on the ground. But he then again stood up.
"Lucario, attack by Drain Punch," Azlan said and Lucario sent a punch, which perfectly hit Machoke, draining most of his energy. "End by Close Combat," Azlan ordered and Lucario went in front of Machoke and continued hitting in speed. When he stops the hitting, Machoke is knocked out.
"Machoke is unable to battle, winner is Lucario, trainer please send your last Pokemon," The Referee announced and raised the flag on Azlan's side.
"It's my last hope. The first time I met someone who was truly strong, Venusaur took the place," the flower taking Pokemon came out in the battle field from Assaunta's Pokeball.
Azlan recalled his Lucario, "Pikachu, I choose you!" Elysia gave her Pikachu to him, which reached the arena and was ready to battle as electricity surrounded him.
"Venusaur, use Body Slam, but watch out for Pikachu's speed!" Assaunta ordered and Venusaur charged swiftly, possibly the swiftest a Venusaur ever charged, toward Pikachu.
The crowd was astounded by Venusaur's speed. Azlan, however, just kept his smile on his face. "Fast, but not fast enough. Dodge and use Iron Tail, Pikachu!" As Venusaur jumped, Pikachu disappeared and reappeared behind Venusaur, his tail glowing. There was a bone-shattering Slam as Pikachu slammed Venusaur with his tail. It was thrown to the other side of the arena.
Assaunta saw that Venusaur barely stood, she was losing all hope until she looked up and saw the sun and all its rays. She then thought of an idea. "Venusaur!" Venusaur, who had stopped struggling to get up but was still awake, looked at Assaunta "Look at the sun up there." Venusaur then looked at the sun. "Ya thinking' what I'm thinking?" Venusaur smirked along with Assaunta and nodded its head. "All right then. This is it. If this doesn't work, it's over. Venusaur, Solarbeam!"
The crowd gasped at the Venusaur available to battle. Yet they saw the power for themselves. This Solarbeam attack was far bigger and faster than any other Solarbeam attack seen. It was so white and bright that everyone had to close their eyes.
Except Azlan, that is. He still had that smile on his face. "I'm gonna win, he he! Now, Thunder! Thunder like you've never Thundered before!" Pikachu sent out an unprecedented number of volts at the Solarbeam head on. The resulting impact was a BOOM sound so loud that windows shook miles away. When the dust cleared, the Thunder was still going and the Solarbeam was nowhere to be seen.
Assaunta knew that it was over. A crisp, blackened Venusaur was left. The referee waved the green flag, announcing the new result. "Venusaur is unable to battle. Winner is Pikachu and Azlan Starwind, now he goes to the semi final," The crowd rose up from their seats and clapped after seeing the amazing battle. "You've seen it here, folks, live, around the world! The trainer Azlan Starwind didn't not lose any Pokemon."
"Congratulations, Azlan. You have surpassed me in strength, it is proof that you are really amazing, best of luck for the next round," Assunta congratulates him.
"You are also amazing, if I do not change my Pokemon, maybe I haved lose to you," Both shake each other's hand and Azlan gets out from the stadium, then he noticed Ash's sad face, as he was coming out from his battlefield.
"What happened?" Azlan asked.
"My opponent, Leaf Green, used a single Pokemon, Heatran, to defeat me," Ash replied.
"It's ok, it's ok. That's life, you can't win every single time," Azlan consoled him.
"I know, I can't win every time, but she just used a single Pokemon to defeat me," Ash said, tears falling from his eyes, his dream of becoming the Pokemon Master was broken in the Quarter Final.
"Which Pokemon did she use?" Azlan asked.
"Heatran," Ash answered, then Azlan took out his Pokedex and searched for Heatran's information. Pokedex shows a reddish-brown, quadrupedal Pokémon. It is dotted with orange and gray spots, and it has metal bangles locked on its legs. Its four claws on each of its feet are in a cross formation.
Pokedex, starts giving the information, "Heatran is a fierce guardian. It is a Legendary Fire and Steel dual type Pokemon. Without the power of the Magma Stone, Heatran would rampage and cause the volcanic crater where it dwells to erupt. Heatran's claws allow it to dig deep into walls, and its feet allow it to stick to a surface, so it can hang and climb from walls and ceilings."
"According to legends, Heatran was said to have been created from the magma hidden beneath Mount Coronet. The body of Heatran is said to hold many unsolved mysteries. Heatran has the ability to form a shield around itself in order to protect itself from harm."
"Heatran has a gray underside, and its face is covered by an iron mask, with red-orange eyes uncovered. Its eyes seem to remain open even when it is asleep. Whenever it is seen with its mouth open, an orange glow emanates from inside it. Boiling magma-like blood circulates through its body. While its body is rugged steel, certain parts of it are partially melted, due to Heatran's own intense body heat."
After getting Heatran's information, Azlan easily convinces and consoles Ash, by saying, Heatran was a Legendary Pokemon, and Legend can do anything.
