After what felt like 278 days of walking, I see a black castle. "That's the Shadow Castle. Let's go in there and beat up the Shadow Emperor!" Tom says. There are several ghosts flying around the castle that will try to prevent us from getting in. Gatsby speaks: "I'll deal with those ghosts with my lightning." We walk to the front of the Shadow Castle, and the ghosts start attacking us. Gatsby fires lightning from his hands at the ghosts, destroying them. However, there is still a major problem: the castle's door is locked.

"This door looks very sturdy; I wouldn't be surprised if I can't get past it with my lightning," Gatsby says. Gatsby then shoots lightning at the door, and just as he predicted, it doesn't break. I have a plan though: "Let me try." I can probably draw a card that can be useful here. If I can get over the castle's wall and onto the other side, I'll be able to unlock the door for Tom and Gatsby. Either that, or I can just pull the antimatter card again and blow up the entire castle. I start drawing cards, and I get the three of spades, which is a card that reduces gravity's effect on me. I apply the card to myself, and my entire body feels lighter. I jump, and I ascend over the castle's wall, and I land safely on the other side. I unlock the castle door, and Gatsby and Tom come in. "Good job, Nick," Gatsby says. I start blushing a little, as Gatsby's compliment makes me feel positive emotions.

The inside of the Shadow Castle looks like it's a labyrinth; finding the Shadow Emperor is going to be a pain in the ass. I speak: "How the hell are we supposed to find the Shadow Emperor in here?" Tom grabs his Magic 8 Ball, and asks for directions. "Head straight, then take the first left. Turn right at the third door, and head up the stairs. Walk past the four torches on the wall, and go through the door. Jump into the trapdoor on the ground, and you will be in the throne room."

I reply: "That Magic 8 Ball seems to know a lot about the world. How does it work?" Tom responds: "I don't know the exact details on how it knows so much, but I do know some of its history. It was apparently created by a priest during the Salem Witch Trials, and it has been passed down through the Buchanan family for many generations."

Gatsby speaks: "The Magic 8 Ball isn't important right now. The sooner we defeat the Shadow Emperor, the sooner we can save the world." We all walk towards the path that the Magic 8 Ball suggested. We walk forward, and we turn left at the hallway. There are several doors on the right wall, and we walk through the third one. We walk up the nearby staircase, and we reach a room with several torches on the wall. Between the fourth and fifth one, there's a suspicious-looking part of the wall. We push it, and it reveals itself to be a hidden door. I notice a trapdoor on the ground, so I lift it up and look at the room below. There's a guy sitting on a throne, and he seems to notice us.

All three of us jump down at the same time. Tom speaks: "Shadow Emperor! We'll destroy you and save the world!" The Shadow Emperor stares at me. "Nick Carraway. You're the one who opened the portal between the Physical Realm and the Shadow Realm. I would like to thank you for your kindness to our kingdom. Our Shadow Forces will be taking over your world very soon." I get angry: "Eat shit, asshole."

I draw a card from Fifty-two Pickup. It's the nine of clubs, which creates rocks that I can throw. I send some decently-sized boulders in the direction of the Shadow Emperor. He gets out of his throne, and lifts it in front of him, using it as a shield to block the rocks. While the Shadow Emperor is distracted by my rocks, I notice Tom sneaking up behind him with Texcalibur. Tom swings it at him, but misses because Texcalibur is a complete piece of shit. "Tom, use a better weapon," I say. The Shadow Emperor throws his throne at me, and I don't have any time to dodge it. I draw a card, and I get the six of diamonds. Dammit, this card is useless; it's just a flashlight.

I point the six of diamonds at the throne as it is flying straight towards me at a high velocity, and the light from the card hits the throne, and nothing happens. Suddenly, I see some lightning hit the throne, exploding it before it can hit me. Gatsby destroyed the throne to protect me. "Nick, are you okay?" he asks. I start blushing, as his concern for my safety makes me feel happy.

I might as well try out some of my Necromancy spells to see if they're good. I have six bones, which is enough to summon either three skeleton crows, or a skeleton dog and a skeleton crow. Should I go with quantity, or quality? I decide to summon three skeleton crows. The bones from the book come out, and three skeleton crows appear in front of me. "Skeleton crows, I command you to attack that Shadow Emperor!" I shout. Suddenly, the crows start running up to the Shadow Emperor, and he easily kicks them away. "What the hell? Why are you running instead of flying?" I shout. One of the crows speaks: "Dude, we don't have feathers. How do you expect us to fly?" "You don't have vocal cords either! How the hell are you talking?!" Dammit, these summons are useless. I open the Necromancy book, and they return back into it. I'm not even going to try to waste my time to see if the skeleton dog is good.

While I was wasting time with Necromancy, Gatsby was charging his fists with lightning. He runs up to the Shadow Emperor. Gatsby punches towards him, and the Shadow Emperor grabs Gatsby's wrist, and throws him into the wall. Gatsby is on the floor, and it looks like his wrist is broken. The Shadow Emperor pulls out a sword, and starts running towards Gatsby. That asshole! I draw a card, and I get the five of clubs, which is the fireball card. I shoot a fireball towards the Shadow Emperor, and I get his attention, and he starts coming towards me. "Tom, go watch over Gatsby, and I'll deal with this douchebag!" I shout. Tom goes over to Gatsby and puts a band-aid on him.

I start reaching for another card, and the Shadow Emperor swings his sword at me. I draw the two of hearts, which increases my speed. I see his sword in slow-motion, and I dodge it easily by jumping over it. While airborne, I kick the Shadow Emperor in the face, but he didn't appear to take any damage from it. Is this guy invincible or something? He grabs my leg, and slams me into the ground. My body is in pain, and I can barely move.

The Shadow Emperor lifts his sword, as he gets ready to decapitate me. Shit! I need to draw a good card, or I'll end up getting killed by this butthead! I draw the ten of clubs, which is a card that creates an explosion. I throw it at the ceiling above the Shadow Emperor, and it explodes. Some large chunks of the ceiling collapse, and they hit both of us, putting me into even more pain. The debris from the ceiling pins me down, and I can't get up. Why the hell did I think that was a good idea? However, it seems to have worked, as the ceiling has also collapsed on the Shadow Emperor, burying him under some rubble.

Suddenly, the Shadow Emperor bursts out from under the debris, and he walks up to me again. "Nick, why did you think blowing up the ceiling was a good idea?" he asks. I respond: "To be honest, I have no idea."

The Shadow Emperor then lifts his sword over me again, getting ready to stab it through my skull. Dammit! I won't have enough time to reach for another card! Suddenly, the Shadow Emperor starts saying some pointless monologue, which I don't pay attention to because it sounds boring. Suddenly, I see Tom jump up to the Shadow Emperor, striking him directly with one of the blades from Texcalibur, cutting his left arm off. He then kicks the Shadow Emperor in the chest, knocking him a few feet away. Tom pushes the rubble off of me, and I get up.

Suddenly, the Shadow Emperor's severed arm floats up, and it grabs Tom by the neck and pins him to the wall. My body is still in pain. I see the Shadow Emperor running towards me with his sword, and I start reaching for a card. Suddenly, I feel his sword penetrate me through the stomach before I can draw the card. He lifts me up with his sword, and I'm still reaching for a card. I cough, and I feel some blood coming out of my mouth. "Nick, it's all over now." I draw the king of diamonds, which is the second-most-useful card in the whole deck. "The Shadow Realm will succeed." This one makes me draw the best possible card for the current scenario that I'm in. "Your world is coming to an end. Die." I draw the next card, and I get the king of clubs, which creates a solar flare.

I use the card, and a large blast of solar energy comes out of it, directly hitting the Shadow Emperor. The energy from the solar flare is so strong, that its light energy completely eradicates the entire Shadow Castle, and some of the surrounding terrain. Since it's a light-based attack, it seems to work best against entities in the Shadow Realm. I look towards Tom and Gatsby, and they appear to be unharmed from my solar flare, which is good, as I wouldn't want to accidentally kill my boyfriend. The Shadow Emperor looks severely weakened, and he is lying on the ground in front of me. I pull his sword out of my stomach, and I start walking towards him.

I start drawing for some healing cards, and I get one on my second try. I heal my wound, and I continue walking towards the Shadow Emperor. The Shadow Emperor speaks: "Alright, you have defeated me." I hold the sword up to the Shadow Emperor, as I get ready to finish him. "Nick, there's something that I'd like for you to know… If you kill me and reset the Shadow Realm…" I start swinging the sword towards him. "Gatsby will be sealed in here again." Suddenly, I stop the sword immediately before it comes into contact with him.

"What?! That's complete bullshit! You just don't want me to kill you so you can win! Screw you, asshole!" I get the sword ready again. Suddenly, Tom speaks: "Nick, it's true… I learned this from my Magic 8 Ball before coming here. I didn't want to tell you because you probably wouldn't want to restart the Shadow Realm with me."

I drop the sword, and I quickly run up to where Gatsby is, and I start hugging him, and I'm crying. Gatsby speaks: "Nick, it's okay. I already had my chance to live and meet you. Sometimes, you'll just have to accept death. Just finish the Shadow Emperor, and restore the world to normal." I start screaming: "No! Gatsby! I Love you! I don't care what happens to the world! I just want to be with you forever! I'd sacrifice the whole world to be with you again!" More tears start cascading down my face.

Gatsby speaks: "Nick, I'd be disappointed in you if you chose to destroy the whole world just for me. I understand how you feel, but you just have to consider everything else… Please, just kill the Shadow Emperor. Do it for me." I get up, and I start walking towards the Shadow Emperor again. My body is shaking, and I am uncontrollably crying. I pull out my flaming sword that I got from Myrtle, and I hold it up to the Shadow Emperor's chest. The Shadow Emperor speaks: "You're making the right decision, Nick. You have defeated me in a fair fight. Just finish me quickly; I want to see my Shadow Castle again." I hesitate. Gatsby speaks: "Don't worry, Nick. I'll always love you, even beyond death." I start screaming in pain, and I shove the flaming sword through the Shadow Emperor's chest, and he dies.

I notice everything around me fading away, except for Tom and me. Gatsby walks up to me as he's fading away. "Nick, you made the right choice. I'm proud of you." Gatsby then grabs the back of my head, and pulls me closer. He then kisses me on the lips, and I kiss him back. Several tears are still running down my face, and I feel some of them run off onto Gatsby's face. He releases the kiss. He pulls the Necromancy book out of my pocket, and rips out the pages that contained the revival spell, and then he shoves the book back into my pocket. "Goodbye, Nick Carraway. I love you. Make sure you live your best life, and maybe we'll meet each other again. Just don't die too soon."

Suddenly, Tom and I are ejected out of the Shadow Realm, and we return to the real world near Gatsby's mansion. I stand motionless, and my body is in severe emotional pain. Tom speaks: "Nick, it's okay… I'll—" "SHUT UP!" I run back to my car, and I start driving back to Nebraska. Dammit… I never thought I'd have to lose Gatsby for a second time…
