Chapter fourteen: nine to one
Lynn Junior woke up in the morning. Around midnight she arrived home with her sisters. After fifty push-ups, she went to the bathroom, washed her hands, and went downstairs to the living room. All the sisters were there but Lincoln wasn't.
"Lincoln isn't up yet?"
Lynn asked.
"Probably he is still asleep." said Luna.
"Well, then I have to wake him up."
"Be gentle with him." said Lori.
Lynn ran up the stairs.
"Yeah, whatever."
Lynn entered Lincoln's room and stopped. Because she saw Lincoln sleeping next to a blond haired girl who hugged him in her sleep. Lynn blushed and ran into the living room.
"Lincoln has a Girlfriend!"
All the sisters except Lisa and Lily approached Lynn with insane speed. And everyone was asking the same question at the same time. "What did you say?"
"He is lying in His bed. And a Girl is hugging him."
Lori, Luna, Luan, Lynn and Lana went immediately Up the stairs, and looked trough a crack in the door. They scurried away again.
"Oh, my god." Lori said.
"She is real." said Lana.
"Of course she is real, I saw her once." Lori said.
"And im not insane. She is real!" said Lynn.
"Aww. Who thought that He has a Girlfriend?" Said Luna.
"Yeah, a pretty old one. She is 21 years old." Said Lori.
"Then she is just a friend." said Luna.
"Damn she looks young." said Lynn.
"Sorry, false alarm." said Luna.
"For my defense, it looked Like she is His Girlfriend." Lynn said.
"But she isn't. We let this how it is."
"Wait, we go again?" Luna asked.
"Yes. You wouldn't like it either If we spy in you and Sam."
The sisters went back downstairs into the living room. Meanwhile, Lincoln woke up. He looked around. Amira held him. He stroked her hair.
"Amira. Wake up."
Amira hugged him tighter.
"Don't. You let me look messy."
"Your hair is already messy."
"Do I still look pretty?"
"Yes of course."
"You know what I wanted to hear."
Lincoln hugged Amira back. He felt hungry at the same moment. He stood up.
"Do you want breakfast?"
Amira got up.
"Hell yes."
Both went down the stairs. Amira stopped when she saw the sisters in the living room.
"We are in the kitchen." said Lincoln.
Lincoln walked into the kitchen and Amira ran after him. In the kitchen, Lincoln began frying eggs and bacon.
Amira looked at him restlessly.
"Be carefull."
"I'll be carefull."
When he was done, he put the food on the plate and gave one to Amira. Amira ate. And she seemed to like it.
"Wow. That's good. I like it."
"Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I learned some basics from my dad."
"Why should I not like it? Its really good."
"What are you going to do today?"
"I don't know. Normaly im just listening to music the whole day, and during evening im live."
"Is this all you do? Every day?"
"Yes. Thats all. You know, i get enough Money from my live streaming, so i don't have to Go to work."
"Oh."
Meanwhile the doorbell rang. Leni opened the door and looked Alison in the face.
"Hi. You're the girl who looks like an older Lisa." said Leni.
"Alison. My name is Alison. Anyway, is Rita here?"
"Yes Mom is here. Come in."
Alison entered the Louds' house. Leni knocked on the door of Rita and Lynn Senior's room. Rita came out of the room tired.
"Oh. You Here?"
"Yes im here. We have a job again."
"Okay. Let me take a shower before we go."
Rita went up the stairs. Alison looked around. She caught the smell of bacon and eggs. She ran to the kitchen and saw Amira and Lincoln.
"What are you doing here?" Alison asked.
"I took care of him." said Amira.
"Since Yesterday? Did you slept here?" Alison asked.
"Yes. Problem with that?"
"No. It's okay."
Rita came down the stairs in five minutes.
"We can go." she said at the front door.
Alison went to her and she left the house with Rita. Amira got up too.
"I have to go too."
"Okay. I'll walk you to the door." said Lincoln.
He accompanied Amira to the door. She opened the door, turned around, and kissed Lincoln on the right cheek. Lincoln blushed and was highly confused. Amira left the house and closed the door. When Lincoln turned around, he saw his sisters staring at him wide-eyed, and with dropped jaws. Lincoln said nothing and ran upstairs.
"Did you see that?" asked Lori.
The sisters nodded.
"Was that real?" asked Lana.
"Yes that was real."
Rita and Alison walked down Franklin Avenue. They looked at the house.
"How do you think it will go today?" Alison asked.
"I hope quiet." said Rita.
The two found the address. It was a house with a white facade and a roof made of German slate. Rita rang the bell. A woman opened it. Latino looks, beautiful light brown skin, long brown wavy hair that hung over her shoulders. She was wearing a red sweater and blue jeans.
"Yes?"
"Hello, is this the 2976 Franklin Avenue?" Rita asked.
"If nothing else says on the house number then yes."
"Then we are right here." said Rita.
"Are you the friends of Constance?"
"I am her daughter." said Alison.
"I didn't know that Constance Had a daughter. Come in."
The three of them walked down the aisle.
"Josefina is very smart. Also very sleepy. So after she has eaten she always sleeps for an hour."
"That sounds cozy." said Rita.
They entered the living room. Josefina sat on the sofa. She was eight years old, had the same hairstyle as her mother, and wore a pink sweater with a red skirt. She tapped away on her cell phone. She looked up and looked at Alison and Rita.
"Are those the people you told me about?" asked Josefina.
"Exactly. I have to go. Behave yourself. Bye."
"Bye Mom."
The mother left. "What do we want to do? Watch TV? Or do you have a suggestion?" asked Josefina.
"I think TV is not a bad idea. Josefina turned on the TV. Rita and Alison sat next to her. A painting of a pirate appeared on the TV.
"'Are you ready kids?'
'Aye aye Captain!'
'I can't hear you!"
"Aye aye Captain!"
"Ohhh! Who live in a pineapple our the sea?'"
The three of them watched Spongebob Squarepants. It was funny because it was the episode Rock bottom where SpongeBob got stuck in the deep sea. Meanwhile, Amira was walking the streets. She was thinking.
"Went good. But... What is good to kiss him?"
She considered more.
"It was just on the cheek. So yes."
She entered her home. Patrick was sitting on the sofa in the living room, and next to him Klara Schröder-Smith. Amira's and Patrick's mother.
"You are home?" asked Amira.
Klara answered with an extreme Austrian accent.
"Yes. Since Yesterday."
"Mom, when Alison cant Feed that Baby, but it is hungry, what do I need to do?" Patrick asked.
"Then you make a bottle of baby food."
"What are you talking about?" Amira asked.
Klara replied, "Breastfeeding."
"I'm glad I don't have to do that."
"If you give me a grandchild, you have to do that too."
"Yes, I don't think so. I'm upstairs."
Amira went up the stairs to her room and got some fresh clothes. Then she went into the bathroom, locked the door, and let the bathtub fill up. Amira undressed and lay in the water. She taught one Foam soap in the bath water.
"Oh yeah. Perfect."
Lincoln lay in his bed. He thought of Amira. And that she had kissed him. He took the photobooth pictures and looked at them. It was the two photos where they suggested a kiss and the other where they were laughing. Lincoln hugged the two photos. He had found a really good friend. There was a knock on the door and Lori stepped inside.
"What do you want Lori?" asked Lincoln.
"I think you know what. What was going on between you and Amira." Lori asked.
"Lori, I don't know. But I am sure we are good friends."
"But she kissed you."
"That must be a cute way to say goodbye."
"Are you Sure Lincoln?"
"I don't think that we have fallen in love with each other."
"Are you sure Lincy?"
"Stop bothering me with that!"
"Okay okay. Im sorry."
Lori left Lincoln's room. Lincoln stayed where he was. After five minutes, Lori knocked again, and walked into Lincoln's room with Lily in her arms.
"I know, you want to be alone, but Lily wanted to see you. Can she stay?"
"Okay. Yes she can stay here." Lincoln said.
Lori carried Lily to Lincoln's bed, put her down and left the room. Lily crawled to Lincoln's head.
"Lincy." Lily said Happy.
"I'm so happy to see you Lily."
Lily giggled, and climbed over him to Lincoln's left side.
"I think I know why you want to be here."
Lily looked at him.
"Amira, right?"
Lily keeped looking at him.
Then she giggled again, and started to play with Lincoln's arm.
"Ah Lily. Be gentle."
Lily stopped playing. She looked again at Lincoln.
"Alright, i'll tell you. Me and Amira are Friends. We Had fun Yesterday, and that was it."
Lily smiled. She seemed to be happy about this.
"It looks like you are Happy."
Lily nodded.
"Here. We Made some Photos Yesterday."
Lincoln showed Lily the photos. Lily was happy. Meanwhile, Alison and Josefina drew. Josefina drew a bird flying among the clouds. Alison drew a very realistic, colorless drawing of a lily of the valley. Rita watched the two and drank coffee. Josefina held out her drawing to Alison.
"Here. Do you like it?"
"It is very nice."
Rita also looked at Josefina's drawing.
"Yes. It looks beautifull. You are a good artist." Josefina looked at Alison's drawing.
"That's amazing. Which flower is this?"
"Lily of the Valley."
"Why do you Draw the Lily of the Valley?"
"Thats because Rita's little daughter is called Lily. This drawing is for her. And I like nature."
Rita took a sip of coffee. Then she looked at Alison's drawing.
"It looks amazing, even without color. We did not much together with Lily in the last time. But im glad to see that you are still that close to her."
"I don't want to lose her. I mean, she is a baby, but she is my friend."
Josefina took another sheet of paper and, like Alison, began to draw the Lily of the valley. The drawing ended well, but not as well as Alison's.
"You are a really good artist." said Alison.
"And I like your drawing style." said Rita.
"Thanks."
Josefina yawned.
"Time for a nap."
Josefina got up and went to her room. Alison and Rita continued to sit at the table. Shortly thereafter, Josefina's mother returned home.
"Well, did you deal with her?" she asked.
"We didn't had to handle her. She's very pleasant."
"Yeah, I got luck with her."
"Yeah. She is for sure a wonderful daughter."
"We drew. Do you want to see it?"
"Yes, of course."
Alison showed Josefina's mother the drawings.
"Pretty good."
"Yes. Josefina has talent. By the way, right after we drew, she went for a nap. How long does she take for that?" Alison asked.
"Half an hour. Three times a day."
"Why so often?" Rita asked.
"I don't know. She needs that."
"Well, that's not a bad thing."
"Exactly. You did a good job."
"Thank you."
Josefina's mother gave them both fifty dollars each. Alison and Rita said goodbye and went to the Louds' house. Amira got out of the bathtub and dried off. She put on a gray T- Shirt and blue jeans on. Then she went to her room, turned on her PC and opened the streaming software. Then she clicked on start. The live stream chat was filled with messages.
"Hello everyone," said Amira.
More and more messages were coming in chat.
She read one "What are you gonna do tonight?"
"I don't know, today I was thinking we could play War Thunder. But now im not in the mood."
At that moment, Patrick entered Amira's room.
"Amira, have you seen my phone?"
"I don't have time."
"I know. But I'm looking for my phone, and I wanted to ask you how things went with Lincoln."
Amira muted her microphone, and a picture popped up that said, "Please stand by," with trumpet music playing along the way.
"What did you ask? "
"Uh, how did it go with Lincoln. Thats what I asked."
"Why? Why do you ask?"
"You didn't yell at me. You didn't tell me I have to Go sleep in the Garden. You didn't make me feel bad. You are in a good mood."
"I can make you feel bad."
Amira raised her fist.
"I believe that. But what was going on. You are in a good mood. I didn't even know this was possible."
"Yes that was possible."
"Is it because of Lincoln?"
"Yes, its because of Lincoln. He gives me a good feeling."
"He gives you a good feeling?"
"I guess so."
"I'm happy that you found a friend."
"Yeah yeah, now get out."
Patrick left Amira's room and closed the door. Amira turned to the live stream, reactivated the webcam, and switched the microphone back on.
"So, I'm back."
Amira read a message in the live chat.
"Minecraft?"
"Nah, Not Minecraft. You know what, lets play again some world of Warships."
A few seconds later she saw another message in the chat.
"Viribus Unitis?"
"Exactly. Austrian-Hungarian Battleship. My all-time favourite."
Rita and Alison arrive at the Louds' house. They entered and saw the Loud sisters in the living room.
"We are back." said Rita.
"Hi Mom." said the sisters.
"Hi everyone." said Alison
She got no answer.
"Girls."
The sisters looked at Rita.
"What?" Lola asked.
"She said hi."
"Yeah. Hi." Lola said in a derogatory tone.
"Please normal Lola."
Lola turned around, and spoke with a high pitched tone.
"Hi."
"Nevermind. Where are Lincoln and Lily?"
"They are together in his room." Leni Said.
Rita walked Alison upstairs and knocked on Lincoln's door. When they opened the door, they saw Lincoln and Lily sitting on the floor, throwing a blue ball at each other. On Lincoln's bed was his cell phone, which was streaming a live stream. It was Amira's live stream.
"Hello. Having fun together?" asked Rita.
"Yes. We Play for three hours now and we didn't get bored."
"That's great."
Then they heard Amira yelling from the cell phone.
"That can't be true. And again! Such a fucking detonation, that can't be true! The second detonation today I'm freaking out!"
"What the? What is going on with your phone." Rita asked.
"I watched a bit Amira's live stream. She plays a ship game, and always explodes." Lincoln said.
"Deonation." said Lily.
"Or like Lily Said, detonation."
"Can I see that?"
Rita asked. Lincoln took His Phone and gave it to Rita.
"Why is she so upset?"
"She played and her ships exploded a lot. Thats why Lily knows this new Word."
"She is very... Loud."
She seems to be in a good mood. Normaly she is pretty Loud and angry." Alison said.
"So, now I Put Juliet-Charlie on my Shikishima, so it wont detonate."
Amira said on the live stream.
"De'onation." Lily said happily.
Lynn Senior shouted from the kitchen.
"Looks like there's lasagna" said Rita
"Okay. Then I'll go Mal." Alison said.
"Oh no, you can stay with us."
"Oh? Okay. I'll text my mom again."
She pulled out her cell phone and typed out a message.
"It's okay with her."
"Wonderful."
The four walked into the dining room and sat next to the other Louds.
"Could I have some water?" Alison asked.
The nurses ignored her.
"Could I have some water?" Alison asked.
Rita grumbled, and gave Alison the water.
"Why are you avoiding me?"
"We stop doing that if you stop stealing our mom." Lola said.
"Why the hell do you think that."
"Because you are more together with our mom then she is with us." Luan Said.
"And we dont like that." Lori said.
"And thats why we dont like you." Luna said.
"Oh girls. Do you have to make a Problem?" Rita said.
"We make a Problem?" Leni asked.
"Leni, remember." Lori said.
"Oh yes. We agreed that Alison is the problem."
"I teach her to be a mother. This needs time."
"But you are a mother. Our mother. We need you too. Besides, Alison has a mother." Lori Said.
"I am the best to teach her this."
"Please. Give Alison a chance." Lincoln said.
"We do, If she goes!" Lola said.
"And I figured Out that Mrs. Constance Jugde is a better teacher." Lisa said.
Rita jumped up angrily. The whole table shook.
"Excuse me!?" Rita yelled.
Lily got scared and pulled herself together.
"I think I heard you wrong!"
Now Lily started to cry. Alison got up angrily and walked out of the dining room. Then they heard the front door slam.
"Now see what you did!"
"We're sorry that Lily is crying," Lana said.
"However, we have successfully reached our goal." Lisa said.
Lori stood up and went to Lily and picked her up. Then she began to rock her, and stroking her cheek. Alison walked the streets cursing. She cursed everything and everyone. Then she reached her home, and as she entered she saw her parents dancing together. When Constance and Richard saw Alison, Constance said something most delightful.
"Forget the divorce! We'll stay married!"
Alison shrieked and hugged her parents. Then they broke the hug.
"But why? I thought dad would leave you If you drink again."
"Yes, but now you are pregnant, and its the most stupid thing to rip our family apart. Besides, we forgot how much we love each other. You showed is this."
"That's great. Thats great."
"Is something wrong sweety?"
"The Kids from Rita don't like me because she spends so much time with me. Then Rita got angry and yelled. And that reminded me of your fights. And how you two yelled at each other."
"Thats Bad. But give her daughters and Rita some time for them, and then try to get along with them."
"You are probably right. I think its normal that they feel like this."
Alison hugged her parents again, then went upstairs to her room. She lay down on her bed and pulled up her sweater. her belly was now exposed. She put her hand on it and stroked her stomach.
"I promise I will be the best mother to you. No matter what it takes. You are my child. The most precious thing I have."
Alison hugged her own stomach and waist. She was fully aware that she loved this child unconditionally.
