Chapter nineteen: a new roommate

Finally she was gone. Amira hasn't lived in her parents' house for a day. This was a blessing for Patrick, who was carrying the rest of the furniture from her old room.

"I am glad that she moved out. Finally we have peace without Amira."

"Yes. Peace at last." said Alison watching him.

"Fortunately."

"But, where could she be?" Alison asked.

"Probably somewhere with her crazy Boyfriend."

"Don't call him like that."

"What? Both are totally crazy."

"Why do you think they are crazy?"

"Just take a look at them together. That answers all."

"That's just the way their relationship is."

"Yes. And thats what makes them crazy and sick."

"Just leave them be. They don't disturb us, so we wont."

"No no no. They are up to do something." Patrick was sure of it.

But the opposite was the case. Lincoln was lying on the bed reading comics with his best friend Clyde.

"Nice that we hang out again. I missed that." Clyde said.

"Yes. I gave all my attention to Amira."

"Who is Amira?"

"She is my Girlfriend. And she lives in the garage until she finds an Apartment."

"What? A girlfriend?" Clyde asked surprised and shocked.

"Long Story Clyde."

"Can I, can I see her?"

"Sure. I would like it if she knew my friends."

Lincoln and Clyde got up and went into the garage. When the two entered through the back door, they caught Amira smoking. Lincoln was first surprised, and then he raised his voice.

"No! No Smoking! You know it isn't healthy!"

"No?" Amira Said embarrassed while smoke left her mouth.

"You know exactly what!"

"Yes..."

"And why do you do it?"

"Because I want to smoke!"

"Throw it away!"

"Can I finish this one please?"

Lincoln gave Amira a Stern look.

"No?"

"Throw it away!"

Amira threw the cigarette out of the window in Mr grousse's garden. Amira looked at Lincoln, and then at Clyde.

"Who is this little guy?"

"Thats my Best friend clyde. Clyde, thats my Girlfriend Amira." Lincoln said.

Clyde whispered in Lincoln's ear.

"Uh Lincoln, you know she's too old for you?"

"Thats the same our parents thought. But they saw how much we need each other."

"Yeah. But she's way older."

"That won't stop us to be together."

"Yes. We stay together." Amira said.

"Okay okay. But I thought you are more into girls like Ronnie Anne."

"We are just close friends." Lincoln said.

"And it's good that way." Amira said.

"Well, don't let Ronnie Anne know this. Anyway I have to go now. Have a nice afternoon."

"Okay. Bye Clyde."

Clyde left the garage. Lincoln turned to Amira.

"Nice that you met Clyde."

"Yes. By the way, I have something for you."

Amira went to her purse and took out a chocolate muffin in a bakery bag. Amira gave this to Lincoln.

"For you love. I thought you would like that while I was Shopping today in the morning."

"Oh thank you Amira."

Lincoln happily finished the muffin and hugged Amira's waist. Amira answered this by wrapping her arms around his head. Lincoln looked at her.

"I'd like to do something with you that Lori did with her boyfriend."

"What exactly?" asked Amira.

"Dance."

"Nice idea."

Amira stood up without further words and took a red dress out of a suitcase. Then she disappeared into the bathroom. Lincoln went to his room and put on the beige long pants and the orange shirt that had a lot of buttons. And Last but not least, His Brown fedora hat. Lincoln walked back into the garage and saw Amira in the red strapless, knee-length dress. Lincoln's heart began to race.

"Wow. Really, really nice dress."

"Aww thank you. You look so very good."

"I feel very grown up right now."

"You look like a grown up."

Lincoln got a kiss from Amira and the two left. Lincoln led Amira to a well-known restaurant that Lincoln knew from before.

"Why did you choose this place?" Amira asked.

"That was the Restaurant where I Had a Double date with Ronnie Anne and my sister with her Boyfriend."

"I see."

"Oh my god."

"What?" Lincoln asked.

"Patrick."

Lincoln saw Patrick was in front of the restaurant. The two approached him. In front of the restaurant they stopped. Patrick looked at Lincoln and Amira.

"Why are you here?" Patrick asked.

"Why are you here? And why are you alone?" Amira asked.

"Not your business."

"Are you cheating in Alison?"

"Are you cheating on Alison?"

"No! She doesn't want to go out with her belly!"

"You should be with her and not let her be alone." Lincoln said.

"You don't tell me what I should do you white haired idiot!" Amira punched Patrick in the stomach the second he said that.

"Don't you ever tread my Boyfriend like this or I let you dig your own grave!"

"Yes I will never do it again." Patrick wimbered.

Amira took Lincoln's hand and the two went into the restaurant. A nice table against one wall was free and the two sat down.

"An actually nice place you chose." Amira said.

"Yes. But it would be perfect If Patrick wouldn't be around." Lincoln said.

"He needs to get a lesson! No one insults my Lincy."

"That sounds like you want to hurt him."

"Perhaps."

"If you do that then we two have a real problem!"

"Calm down."

The waiter came to the table.

"What'll it be?"

Lincoln and Amira looked at the menu.

"Water. And spaghetti carbonara." said Amira.

"For me, too, water and a steak with potato salad." said Lincoln.

"Come immediately."

The waiter disappeared. Behind Amira, Lincoln saw Patrick sitting at a table about ten meters away with a plate of fries and chicken nuggets. Amira recognized Lincoln's gaze and turned around.

"I can't wait for the moment he goes away." Amira said.

"Me too. But isn't He supposed to be here with Alison?"

"Remember her belly."

"Oh yes."

The waiter came with the food and the water, and the two of them began to eat. When they were almost done, a Spanish band started playing.

"Let's dance to this Amira." Lincoln said.

Lincoln took Amira's hand and they both hit the dance floor. The two began to hold each other and dance. The Spanish band played and the two began to dance the tango. Slowly. Then quickly. Then slowly again, they snapped apart, holding only one hand. When they were close again, Amira rotated Lincoln. Their dance ended with applause and after paying for the meal they left the restaurant.

"We should do that again Amira." Lincoln said.

"Sure. But not that soon. It should be something special." Amira answered.

"I understand." Amira looked around.

"As special as this."

Amira kissed Lincoln on the lips. The two went for a walk holding hands. The two walked hand in hand. Eventually they walked alongside the river, listening to the sound of their footsteps and the river.

"Amira?"

"Hmm?"

"Will you ever make up with Patrick?"

"No. Never."

"Why not?"

"Because it's him."

"That's all?"

"There is just way too much."

"Leave the past. I mean, it doesn't matter anymore."

"Maybe for you. Not for me."

"Stop it."

"Hmm…"

"Come on."

"Ugh! Fine!"

The two walked on. At the same time, Rita went to the house where Patrick lived. She rang the bell and waited. And then something unusual happened.

"Open the door." Alison yelled inside the house.

"Okay… Are you alright ?" Rita said.

"Not since six months. Come in already."

Rita opened the door and walked in. She walked into the living room and saw Alison lying on the couch. Rita sat down next to Alison by her head.

"Why are you alone? Where is Patrick?"

"He wanted to go out and have a date with me. I told him he should go alone. And so he did."

"Not a gentleman move."

"Do we have another babysitting job?"

"No. And that's good. I don't want to get outside." Alison said.

"Are you sure?"

Alison took out her phone and looked on the calendar app. She exhausted annoyed.

"Fuck me."

"We have a job?"

"Yes we have one."

"Who is it?"

"It's David."

"The obese one?"

"Yes."

"You have to go."

"Not with that belly."

"Come with me or I force you!"

"Fine!"

Amira and Lincoln entered the garage and jumped on their bed. Both layed on their back and looked at each other.

"That was beautiful, Amira." Lincoln said.

"Yes it was."

Lincoln got closer to Amira and they started cuddling."I'm so happy you are here." Lincoln said.

Amira stroked Lincoln's hair. Then the two kissed each other on the lips.

"Can we watch a movie together?"

"Of course Lincy."

They turned to the side and Amira opened Netflix on her phone. Then they started watching a Tom Hanks movie, the gate. Meanwhile, Rita and Alison rang the doorbell of the apartment where young David lived. Alison was wearing a beige coat covering her stomach.

"You don't have to hide your belly. David is also fat." Rita said.

Alison kicked at Rita's leg.

"Ouch! For what?"

"That was offensive." Alison said.

"For you or for David?"

"For both of us."

David's mother opened the door. She was carrying her purse and was in a hurry.

"Hi. Perfect that you are here. David felt good the last time you were here." David's mother said.

"That's good to hear. Are you in a hurry?" asked Rita.

"Yes. That's why I have to go now. I'll be back before midnight at the latest."

David's mother left. Rita and Alison walked into the apartment and closed the door.

"Where is David?" Rita asked.

"He is a gamer. Probably in his room and plays video games."

"Yes. You are right."

The two heard a noise that sounded like someone was in a bad situation.

"What's that?" Alison asked.

"I don't know. Where does it come from?"

Rita and Alison followed the sound and down the hall saw David trapped in an old pet door that led to the balcony.

"How... how?" Rita said confused.

"I've should have stayed in bed today." Alison said.

"I wanted to check something and ended up like that."

"Of course." Alison said annoyed.

Rita took David's hands and pulled him out. Rita moved him with the first try and looked at Alison. Then Rita pulled at David. Both on the ground and David lay on Rita.

"Don't expect me to help you to stand up." Alison said.

"He's not that heavy." Rita said sarcastically. She looked at David.

"Are you okay David?" Rita asked.

"Yes. Everything is fine." Both stood up.

"I hope this day turns out to be a good one." Alison said annoyed.
