Chapter 2
He stumbles back as my blow catches him off guard. The heat vanishes quickly causing me to gasp for warm jail cell air again. I weakly move to the jail cell bars and feeling for any kind of moister. I find the smallest, but I feel heat fly up my back. Suddenly the bars of the jail cell burn causing me to let go of the bars. I look around to see the mad blue haired hedgehog look at me like I just slapped his mom. Blood beings to drop from his mouth a little from my punch and he wipes it away and looks at his hand admiring his blood.
The heat intensifies causing me to fall to my knees and shield my face from the pressure.
"Wow, this is the first time someone has been able to actually hit me and catch me off guard", he said amusingly.
"Well if you want another one then come get one" I barked back.
"Okay" he says and steps to me with a quickness causing me to jerk my head up from the heat. He throws a punch at me with a power of flames behind that punch. I dodge his punch and widen my eyes of the force of his one punch. His fist slammed into the bar causing it to dent from the force.
"Oof why so scared...I'm trying to return a favor" he says with no emotion once again.
I paused for a second and look at him like he is crazy.
He grabs my leg catching me off guard and I kick my leg at his stomach to get him off of me, but he catches my leg. I try to free my legs from his grip, but he wouldn't let go. I swing fist at his head, and he dodges it. He smirks at my attempt of trying to hit him again. He suddenly opens his mouth and fire appears in it.
I stop moving. Fear makes me not able to move. He is about to burn me alive. No care in his eyes.
My friends.
My accomplishments.
My soon to be throne.
My dad…
Everything I that I am going to miss flashes through my mind.
I close my eyes and shield my face, preparing for the blow.
I hear him exhale even more and it gets more and more brighter.
Sonic POV
"The princess is really a lot shakier than they say in the reports, the way she just gave up when I was about to blast her with fire...I guess I'll stop here, it was fun while it lasted".
I shot my big fire ball from my mouth at the jail cell wall, busting a huge hole in the wall.
I decrease my heat and let her legs go. I bend down and start untying her shoes. I look back up to see her shaking like a she just came from a blizzard. I throw her shoes on the ground and reach up to bring her up, but her deep blue eyes were staring into mine.
"Wh-wh-why", she looked at me confused and shocked. She didn't even notice that I took her shoes off and she more wondering why her life was spared. I looked at her and offered her a hand. She just looked at it and back up on the floor to make space in between me and her.
"I took your shoes off so they will think you died", I asked acting stupid.
She jerked up fully away from me know and moved more to the hole in the wall.
She looked angry now and I don't know why.
"I am saying why did you save me! You were supposed to kill me and- "
"Look Princess Amelia, I don't think killing a princess looks good for a reputation of someone about to become the king" I said annoyingly.
"….King", she said softly as she looked me up and down once more and then her eyes jerked up to mine.
"Are you Prince Sonic of the fire kingdom", she said astonishingly
"Yeah I am" I said blankly "Okay so now let's go through this hole in the wall and get you back to your place" I said walking near her to look through the wall and seeing how long of a drop it will be.
"Hm just like 30 meters, that's okay"
I looked back at her about to ask her if she is ready to jump and she is still staring at me like she was still trying to understand what I just told her. I sigh and grab her arm and try to pull her close to me so I can pick her up and she pulls back away from me like I was going to kill her.
"I really don't have time for this" I thought with annoyance.
"Wait, are you trying to trick me and take over Asendel," she asked trying to regain her confidence back and sound like how she was sounding before I began to create my heat.
"No, if I wanted to do that I would have done that ages ago instead of putting the little princess in prison, so can we please go before my father comes back and kills you himself," I said as I look down the hall making sure the guards haven't appeared yet.
She looked at me and then my hand. She took once step and then another and soon her hand was in mine. I looked at her hand and noticed it wasn't as pretty as the other fire citizens women in the kingdom. Hers looked like she had been training for a while or something like that. She had a deep ring with a weird liquid in it and the outside of the ring has gold embroiders on it. I cocked my head to the side looking at the ring and then I saw words, but it was upside down from my angle, so I tried to move her hand around and she yanked it from me causing me to come back to real life.
"Okay are you done? Please stop acting like you have never seen a female hand before," she says but I cut her off by looking at her. She swallows hard and gives me her other hand without the ring and looks down at her feet probably wondering where her shoes went.
I turn around and look down the whole on the side of my castle.
"Okay this should be easy", I said. I let go of the princess's hand and take my shoes off with a quickness. I grab her hand and pull her close to me as I stand out of the cliff.
Surprisingly she isn't afraid of the heights, I thought to myself and I jumped out of the hole and shoot fire from feet causing me to fly in the air. I fly us all the way down to bottom of my castle and into some trees nearby to hide us. I set the princess down while still holding her hand and I move and look around to see if anyone was watching.
"Um, you don't have to hold my hand Prince Sonic", she whispers confidently.
"Well I'm holding your hand, so you won't double cross me or whatever is going through that water kingdom mind of yours", I whisper back.
She grabs me by the collar bringing her face close to mine and says
"Its Asendel and I don't give a firey fuck about you at this moment, I just want to get back to my kingdom to reassure them that I am alright and I don't need a fire boy to escort me back", she spats back pushing me while releasing my collar.
She turns back around to the crosswalk looking for a way out and I just stare at her amazed. I cock my head to the side, and I grab her chin making her look at me and now she has the same look as I have on my face.
She doesn't move her head away from grip and looks me dead in the eye not even scared and then slaps my hand off her face.
I was about to speak until the alarms of my fire kingdom starts going off and haywire.
"Fuck, we could have left before that went off", I said looking around at the now people running back and forth on the crosswalk we wanted to pass. I look to the princess and notice she isn't here. My eyes widen as I look to the other side of me and still not seeing her. I peak through the bushes and there she is in a tree ahead of me across the crosswalk.
"How did she- "
She looks down back at me motioning for me to come across the crosswalk that it was clear. I just look at her and look down both sides of the crosswalk and see that it is empty.
"How did she even get up there?" I thought in my head as I dashed over to the crosswalk into some more bushes. I looked up in the tree and noticed she wasn't there.
I looked around for her and didn't see her. I crept through more bushes until I saw the exit and didn't see any pink hair heading that way. In the glance of my eye I see an ice made ladder created on the side of one of the kingdoms walls.
"Is she really about to climb in blind daylight", I thought to myself. I hear my guards' feet coming from around the corner because a fire citizen has seen the ice made ladder.
"I got to stand up quick, so they don't catch her-,"
"Nice ladder right, ha this is why it's so easy to fool you fire people"
I turn around to see the princess and I wonder how she was able to do all of that in the amount of time I was looking for her.
"So now I think we should walk through the entrance because I'm pretty sure everyone is looking for you so that would be the best exit", she says while looking at my guards climb the ice ladder and search around the area. She looks at me wanting me to reply so we could advance.
"Right, okay", I said as I nod my head. Me and the princess crawl, duck, run and hide all the way to the entrance and we make our escape through the big gates. Before we head out as I am following the princess out, I hear a cry off to the distance. I was about to turn back, but I noticed the princess had taken off. I moved forward but then stop one more time. Wondering what that noise could be, but I continued on following the princess of the water kingdom.
