Chapter 3
POV Amy
I walk barefoot through the grassy forest while this fire boy follows me through it. I am being careful not to step on anything that could hurt me because I don't want to leave a trace that I was here. I step over rocks, sticks and rubble. Seems like the fire nation comes through here a lot based on the little degree I see on the ground. As I step over more sticks and rocks with my bare feet, I still feel the heat coming from the fire boy.
"Does he really have to do that", I thought in my head.
I turn around slightly too look at him just to observe him a bit. He is wearing a royal battle uniform fit for a fire royal and his feet are exposed to the ground as well as mine. He his deep blue hair and he has a muscular build. And the way he walks makes him seem like is unstoppable, every step he takes is powerful not afraid for is what to come.
My eyes rise back up to his emerald eyes looking back at and I look away trying to avoid any small talk.
"Heh, looks like you are curiously about me based on how you just looked at me", he said amusingly
Without looking back skillfully stepping over a rock that looked sharp I said "Well I was just wondering on why the prince of the fire kingdom wanted to help me escape my death wish and is now escorting me back to Asendel like nothing never happened and is not even trying to hurt me, even though we are arch enemies and your father has been trying so hard to take down the Asendel and al-"
"Well killing you wouldn't feel right, even though you killed one of my commanders", he said cutting me off while following my trail not trying to step on things.
I paused in my trail and turned around facing the prince. He stopped once he saw me stop and looked up at me with a nonchalant face.
"We did not kill one of your commanders, the citizens of Asendel would never create such a terrible name on ourselves from killing your kind. We only came to spy on you guys, that's all since your "daddy" hates us so much", I spat as I turned my heel, flipping my pink hair in process and continued on dodging the dangerous things that could harm my feet.
I heard him scoff as he started walking behind me again as well probably following my footsteps once again out of boredom.
"Well seeing that you and your friend that got away was caught I don't know who else would have killed our commander but if you want to continue to lie then go ahead by all means," he said causally and took another breath before I could yell at him, " and my "daddy" has never been wrong about your "water kingdom" so all this bickering you are spitting at me is redundant…especially after the war and your kingdom losing your-"
I had already stopped walking after he talked about the war and he ran into the back of me. He took steps back after touching me and I turned around. I looked him dead in his eyes with the most serious face I have ever had in my life.
He looked at with no expression as I was boiling inside.
I quickly water bended the water from plants around my hand creating an ice fist and with speed I swung at his head. He dodged the last second and backed up. He looked at me with no emotion still and that made me even angrier. I used more water from plants and creating an ice pillar to hit him right in the face. My pillar came at him and he ducked it and tumbled on the ground while getting back on his feet.
"You know you using the water from the plants is going to create evidence of where we went right?", he said
I didn't care. I got water from a whole tree and I wave it around my body and watched him stare at the water. He slowly looked back at me in the eyes and sighed.
"So you really want to fight while my men are coming to save me or do you want to continue to go back to your kingdom and then beat me up there if you want", he said looking back from where we came from and then looking back at me.
I was so sick of this guy and him talking to me like I was some kid, or he was so much greater than me.
"You think you know everything right huh? You think your dad knows the truth about everything, but he doesn't. Over the past years your father has been the one to make the Asendel look bad, like we just kill anyone in our path right. Like we are murders but aren't. We take in more than water benders, we take earth, healers, lighting benders and even fire benders who are tired of being mistreated from a king and crybaby for a fucking son!" I yelled at him.
He stared at me and said nothing. I dropped my arms causing the water I took from the tree to fall back down into the dry soil I took water from. I turned around for the last time walking a little quicker and not caring if he was following me or not but of course he was following me.
"I'm a crybaby huh", he murmured.
I wanted to really turn around and beat his ass, but I continued to walk forward, because the faster I get to the kingdom, the faster I can get from this sociopathic hot head.
Pov Sonic
Hm, she is getting mad about how I don't know about the water kingdom, but I am not sure how to ask without her trying to fight me. Whenever I become king, I do want there to be equality and to stop bickering. So, it can be how my mother didn't what..
I watch her feet as she walks through the forest, I look up from 30 mins of walking and I notice that the sky is now orange and it is taking a little longer to get to the water kingdom than usual.
I want to say something, but I feel like she is too stubborn to stop and take a break and just continue the next day.
"OW FUCK", the princess yells. She sits on the ground quickly while holding her foot in pain. I stop and look at her foot from afar and then I slowly walk up to her and kneel. She looks at me angrily and pushes me away from her.
"For the last time Sonic, I don't need your help", she said angrily. I take what she says, and I sit down in my spot where I was pushed. "At least we finally stopped", I thought in my head as I slowly look up to the sky noticing the orange in it was turning into pink.
I look back down as I hear her make a sharp inhale of air as she tries to pick out something in her foot. "I am so confused of why a little something is hurting your foot, isn't the water kin-
WHAM
I fall back after getting hit with god knows what. Suddenly I feel a body on me on mine, straddling me, so I couldn't move my legs. I open my eyes to see the princess on me, holding an ice stick in her hands in a threating position. I look at her confused, she was looking at me so angrily and I had done nothing to her.
"GO BACK TO YOUR KINGDOM NOW", she yelled at me
I looked at her confusingly wondering if she noticed that we have been walking hours and that it would be pointless for me to go back now.
"Listen princess I didn't mean to offend you in anyway okay, I am just trying to change the feelings in between the water and fire nations, okay? As I said that she threw her ice pick with so much force into a bush and grabbed me by the collar.
"You listen prince, I don't know what you are trying to gain here or what is your meaning of changing the feelings between us but that will never happen because all fire people do is burn bridges while us people are always trying to build them," she says while throwing me back to the ground.
After being yelled at I slowly leaned up and shook the dirt from my head after being yelled at by the princess. I cross my legs and look at my dirty feet. Another few mins pass, and she has been saying ow for the last 7 mins.
"I'm losing my mind sitting here" I sat and thought.
I look back over to her picking at her feet vigorously.
"She looked so focus into her foot, maybe I could help her, but she would probably just tell me to fuck off, but on the other hand the pink sky I just saw is now turning into a dark blue."
I give her 5 more minutes to say ow and then I stand up walk to her and sit in front of her taking her foot from her hand. She starts to pull foot back and I take a big sigh and say "Look I am just trying to help, you have being doing this for a while and I don't want it to get swollen by you playing with it so please just let me help".
She looks like she is about to say something but doesn't. She nods her head softly and I finally have control of her pricked foot. I examine her foot and notice she has a sharp splinter in it.
"Looks like it would get infected if we just brushed it off", I thought as I lifted her foot a little higher to look at it from a different angle.
"Okay this might hurt an ill' bit but I am going to get it out in 3 mins tops or maybe shorter than that if you cooperate" I said, and she simply nodded.
I take my finger and pinch at her foot a bit causing her to winch from time to time, but she would make sure that I do not see her face in pain. After some more picking I finally got the skin off and took the splinter out with ease. She was saying ow the whole time and probably doesn't even know that I got it out.
I examined her foot to make sure that was it and it caused me to see a scar leading up to her calf and past her knee. I secretly tilted her foot and looked at her leg. I felt her pull her leg back because she probably saw me looking at her knee, but I still held onto her foot.
I gently moved my free hand and touched her scar and traced a bit up her calf before getting a mouth full of her foot in my face.
"What are you doing", she yelled blushing madly.
I looked at her face after getting her foot in mine.
Ha, she is blushing.
She stood up fast after I did not say a thing. I simply stood up in front of her after wards towering her.
"How did you get the scar?" I asked while looking into her eyes.
She turned away from me while folding her arms and said
"None of your business",
"Psshhh, I just wanted to know, it looks like a lightning strike hit you or something based on the way it comes up like that", I said. I had been studying all types of powers shown on the face of the earth and I have seen multiple scars of lightning strikes in the fire kingdom since the lighting power is originally from our fire ancestors.
"Um, I… its really nothing okay" she said she rubbed her arms back and forth.
"Maybe we should find somewhere to stay it getting dark and cold", she said trying to change the subject and go back to her princess mode.
"Cold? Oh, right water people do get cold, here I'll add some heat for ya", I said.
With the fire boiling inside me I released heat not enough to harm her like earlier but enough so she could stay warm at least until we find a place.
I looked around the forest to see if I could find a place for us to stay. I look some more but when I turn around, I see the princess a lot closer than she has ever been to me. She folds her arms to try to stay warm and her teeth start to chatter.
"Oh, she is cold, maybe I'm not warm enough."
I generate a little more heat so she could stay warm and it seemed to work since her teeth were not chattering anymore.
"Thank you" she murmurs. I nod my head and take the first step into the darkness. I light a fire in my palm and walk through the forest searching for anything shelter related. The princess keeps close to me trying to stay warm as we walk.
Minutes later we come across a cave. Sighing in relief I point to the cave and the princess nods and follows me.
I look into the cave with the flame in my hand making sure no people were in here.
"Stay here I am going to go check it out", I said. She simply nodded again, and I turned away and walked in the cave. I looked around and found an old fire pit and lit it.
"Sweet", I thought while walking back over to the princess. She was shivering all over again and I looked up to the sky noticing that is about to rain.
"Well its safe and I started a fire inside so you can ge- ", she cut me off by running to the fire and trying to warm up.
I chuckle a bit and sit on the side of the fire and watch her warmup.
"Fuck, its cold" She says while trying to warm her fingers up. I look at the little fire trying to keep her warm and sigh. I take my armor off exposing my chest passing it too her. She slowly looks up and seems me offering my armor to her to stay warm. Then she looks at my chest for a second and then looks back up to me. She stares at the armor and looks back at me while shivering.
"Well do you want it?" It will keep you warm I think", I said. She looks at the armor inspecting it and shakes her head.
"Ne- ne -never will I ever wear fire kingdom armor", she says while chattering her teeth.
I look at her blankly and I drop my armor aside and shake my head. I turned my head to the rain that just started pouring down hard causing cold wind to come into the cave and blow the fire out.
Darkness.
"Oh, fuck no, no, no, no" says the princess as the fire goes out. I spew fire at the tip of my finger and shoot it at the fire pit and it goes out immediately because of the rain.
"Welp there goes that" I think but then I hear her chattering get so much more intensely as the cold wind wraps around us.
I breathe and say
"Just come into my arms and warm up then"
"Hu-hu-hu huh" says the princess.
Chapter 4
POV Amy
I stare at him through the small flame on his fingertip. The flame flickers over his body and his emotionless face as he makes a statement a princess could never follow.
"Your what?", I asked confused like I couldn't hear what he said but I obviously did, and I wanted to make sure the hypothermia was not fooling my brain.
"Just come into my arms and get warm" he says while extending his muscular arms.
"What if you try to take advantage of me", I spat at him. He simply shrugged and shook his head.
"If I wanted to do that, I probably would not be being taking you back to your kingdom", he said playfully. I look at him once again in the eyes as I'm about to yell at him until a gust of wind hits me like a brick. His flame disappears and I hear feet scarp on the floor and footsteps come close to me. I put my hands out in the dark in front of me to push him away, but I soon feel heat rise from my back again.
I feel his warm chest against my back as he tries to warm me up. He slowly and gently reaches for my hands and uses his heat to warm them up as well.
"That's really close" I said as I move my leg and I move my leg to get up, but it hits his that are spread out from behind me.
I stop moving not to feel any more of his body more than I already have in the last 2 minutes. Suddenly I feel his warm breath on my neck and he gently rest his head on my shoulder. I tense up as I notice he tries to relax too.
"Hey relax... I am not going to do anything to you okay, I just don't want you to turn into an icicle," he says softly. He holds my hands and rubs his warm thumbs back and forth on my knuckles.
"This position is weird… I don't really like being close to someone like this, I feel like my guard is way to down right now more than usually, but I have to survive to protect my kingdom and lead the people Asendel.
I relax my shoulders and exhales and say
"Um, I think I am going to lie down now for strength tomorrow", I stumble out.
"Okay lay into me so I can keep you warm" he says normally.
"Do what?!" I thought, and suddenly my human heater moves away and goes to the floor waiting for me to lay with him.
"I am uncomfortable doing that", I say, and he scoffs and says
"Are really going to freeze to death because you scared of being close to me, look I said I don't bite I am just trying to keep you warm and in the fire kingdom handbook it says- "
"Fine" I say shyly as I cut him off and turn around lay on my side and I scooch up to him getting close to his bare chest. I curled up my legs to his chest and go super close to him. I slowly rest my hands on his chest to warm my palms.
"I hope he doesn't mind", I think as I place my full palm on this chest.
I get warm immediately and move hand over a little on accident, but I feel something on his chest.
"Is..is this a scar", I questioned in my head and felt down the scar to wear it trailed. I noticed what I was doing and moved my hand away fast.
"I-I-I'm sorry I didn't mean to touch you like that, I was just curious that was all", I say. I wait for him to speak and I hear a breath intake in the cold cave.
"I got when it when I was little, my mother was fighting a lighting squad coming to take me and she tried to save me but she got hit and I got hit a little on my chest from the blow", he says.
"He has a lighting mark scar just like me"
"Wow, did it hurt...do you remember it", I asked wanting to touch his scar again.
"Well it feels like fire running through your body cooking you inside out, a much greater fire than the stuff we can do", he says lowly.
I listen to his words I slowly reach down and feel on my leg for the lighting mark scar. I clear my voice to speak about mine but then I hear a light snoring. I stop reaching for the mark and move closer into his chest.
"It's still warm", I think, and I dose off into sleep.
NEXT MORNING
Pov amy
I feel a light tapping on my head as I open my eyes to a chest. I slowly rise up notice my leg is wrapped around the fire boy. I jerk myself away and look into his emerald eyes.
"Well it looks like you slept good princess," He says jokingly based from me jumped off of him with my leg was wrapped around is chest.
I blushed and stood up and marched outside to see how the weather is going to be on the way to back to Asendel. I step out and get blinded by the shining sun and the smell of wet grass from the rain from last night. I took two fresh steps into the wet grass and it instantly improved my mood. I water bended the wet grass into shoes that would circulate the rocks, sticks and anything else from touching my feet. I smile gladly at my temporary shoes.
"Can you make me some too," the prince asked coming from out of the cave with his armor back on.
I look at him and noticed he is grinning like a fool because he thinks he is so funny. He takes in my expressions and guesses correctly of what I was about to say.
"Anyway, how long until we get to your kingdom, I am starving", he says while rubbing his stomach. I ignore him and I walk up to a tree and I began to climb it.
"IF I climb this tree it might help me a lot on finding Asendel", I think to myself as I climb the tree quickly.
"Okay cool I'll just stay down here and look around for some signs", the fire boy yells. I shake my head and continue to climb the great oak tree. I get to the top and I smell the fresh air. The wind blows in my face causing my pink locks to shine in the sunlight.
"Mmm I hope it's a full moon tonight", I say aloud, and I look around for signs of Asendel. I turn my head and I see it in the distance in the east direction. I climb down carefully after seeing my location in where we were headed next.
I jump to the ground after the last branch and I don't see the fire boy around anymore. I look around and then I notice his footprints on the ground.
"Um, fireboy where did you go, I found the way back to asendel…" I say out aloud for him to hear me. I get no response, so I follow the footsteps I see on the ground that looks likes his feet. I walk north through the forest following his steps and they end at a pond. I water bend the water from the pond up in the air and then I place it back down after not seeing the blue haired fire boy.
"Wait where did he go", I thought. I walked a little more north until I heard rushing in the bushes.
I jump back from it and notice the same noise appeared behind me as well.
"Who is in there show yourself!", I say strongly.
"Certainly" a mysterious voice says
I move to the voice but it's all around me. I soon take steps back in confusion and I turn and start running to where I am coming from. I jump and swing from trees so whoever is trying to get me doesn't. Suddenly someone jumps from the bushes and tackles me in midair. We both crash into the dark green bushes.
I kick the person from me, and they strike back with a sword. I use the moisture from the wet ground to freeze his hand in place, right before they were about to swing at me. My ice shoots from the ground freezes his whole arm. Their hand is frozen solid with the sword and they punch at it trying to get their hand free. I look at the person trying to attack me, and they have a mask on. I rip the mask to find out that its…
