Sonic POV
"Okay… open up" Amelia says softly.
I slowly open my eyelids as they still hurt from being slice from earlier. I squint my eyes slowly allowing the light to touch and I wince.
"Take your time" Amelia says.
I steadily open my eyes and my vision is blurred. I blink a couple of times trying to adjust to the icy air. My vision comes to focus, and I gasp as I can see Amelia. The ice blade in torso is piercing through her roughly and she has a lot more bruises and cuts. Her tights have also been torn a bit.
I look to Amelia's eyes and she looks so weak. Like she is on edge of passing out.
"Amelia…I- "I stutter out now being able to think.
"I know it looks kind of bad…I'm not sure I am going to- "
"NO" I yell looking at her.
Her face goes to sad and she coughs a bit.
"I'll save you Amelia. I promised. Don't give up now, please. I refuse to have you die", I say.
"But Sonic… I feel really cold and scared" she says while a tear slips from her eye.
My heart thumps loudly and I slap the sides of my face hard.
"I have to save her… no matter what. I will turn the odds around. All I have to do is get her somewhere safe! But I am not super sure of where we are… I am going to have to get us out of here". I think.
I look at the blade pierced through her and I slowly move my hands to it. Amelia whimpers as she sees what I am about to do.
"Okay I am just going to melt it, okay? I have to get us out of here before his guards come so this has to be quick." I say.
"Okay" Amelia says weakly.
I create a small fire with my hands, and I place them around the ice not touching it. I shoot a fire to my hand and to the other, melting the ice down. The long piece of ice falls off. I look at her wound now and I notice that the ice went clean through so another shard of it is near her back.
"Okay this might hurt… you might even pass out because of the pain but I am going to lift you off the ice and burn your wounds together alright?" I say while touching her face.
"Passing out… okay, do it" Amelia says.
"You will be fine. I promise", I say and her eyes flicker to mine.
She nods and closes her eyes.
I breathe in and out slowly. I move my arms under her back already getting a painful reaction from her. I wait until she looks like she is ready.
"This will be fast" I say, and she nods.
I grip her body and I pull it up from the sharp blade. Amelia screams in pain causing my heart to drop and I put her back on the floor gently. I place my hands over her wound on her torso and I burn it making the blood stop from coming out. Amelia grunts in pain once more and then I quickly move my hands to her back, and I burn that wound as well.
I take my shirt off and I wrap it around her torso trying to contain her burns so they wouldn't get damaged or touched. I notice she isn't making noises anymore and I look over to her face. Her eyes are weakly looking forward at the sky.
"Hey Amelia… how do you feel" I say worriedly.
She simply just blinks.
"She seems super weak. I have to hurry"
I pick her up carefully putting bridal style. I gently move her broken arm on her stomach so it wouldn't move as much. I stand up and I will to edge to look at Scourge one more time.
His body lays there lifelessly. I stare at the hole I created through his chest.
"I am sorry about… your family" I say strongly.
Fire appears from under my feet blasting wildly in the cold room. I shoot myself up in the air heading to the tip of the high ceiling. I blast a hole in it, causing some ice pellets to fall to the ground below. I fly out of the hole and then sun touches me with its rays. The sky is light blue with a few clouds in the sky. I breathe in the fresh air and I look around to where we are.
We are in the back of the kingdom and the village we came from that was harassing me is ahead of us. I also see the forest we walked through.
"Going back to Asendel might be too far of a flight" I say out loud.
I look back down to Amelia and her eyes are closed.
I turn my eyes to back to the village, wondering if someone can heal her… but they probably would not do that because soon they will find out Scourges condition. I fly to the right of the ocean, going on the side of village. That side didn't have too many houses and people so us going over there would make sure we were not seen. I fly quietly as possible to the village and I hide behind a small store. I hold Amelia close to me as I watch a kid bounce a ball.
I squint my eyes and I notice it's the earth bending kid from earlier. He had changed clothes and his parents were also not around. Amelia coughs and makes the kid head look up. I move quickly away from the boy's glance.
"Fuck… he almost saw us I thought" I think. I wait a couple of seconds and I slowly peak back. I notice the boy was gone and I look around in confusion. I take one step out and my foot touches someone else's.
"OW" the kid says loudly as he holds his foot.
My eyes widen at his as he talks very loudly.
He then looks up at me and then eyes Amelia who is possibly passed out from the pain.
I take one step back eyeing the kid.
"What happened to her" he questions while creating a rock stool to sit on.
"Should I speak… or maybe I should- "
"She looks pretty hurt" he says blankly.
"Ye-Yeah she is… uh, I am trying to find a way out of here without getting seen- "
"What happened to your chest" he says while pointing to my scar on my chest. I completely forget I don't have a shirt on, and I respond.
"I was hit by lightning while fighting. You were probably to young when the war happened but hey! You seem like a nice kid, you should- "
"Nah" says the kid.
He gets up and starts walking away.
"Hey! Wait" I whisper, and the kids stops looking me annoyingly.
"What, what, what. Aren't you the evil man my mommy talks about? I saw everyone throwing stuff at you and saying bad things. My mommy told me I am not old enough to say those things" he says.
"… uh. I have an idea! If I show you a trick will you show me how to get out of here?" I say quickly.
"A trick… what kind" he says while inching closer.
"You have to promise to show me how to get out of here" I say.
He thinks about it and then nods his head "yes".
"Okay… what's your favorite shape" I ask trying to make this go by quickly.
"Uhm… I think stars are cool!" he says.
"And what's your name?" I ask.
"Udio!"
"Okay Udio… watch your name come to life" I say.
"I hope I still have some energy left" I think
I get one knee and I gently set Amelia's legs on the ground while she rests on the inner thigh of my leg, keeping her upper body up. I move my hands and I create stars and his name with my fire bending. I feel my energy drain me, but I try my best to make his name look very cool so that we can get out of here.
I finish fire bending his name and stars around and I look up to his face. His faces are in amazement as he stares at his name that he has never seen before. I let it disappear and I stand back up with Amelia in my arms.
"WOAHH MR. BAD FIRE MAN! THAT WAS SO COOL!" he says loudly jumping up and down.
I shush him quickly trying not to cause any commotion and he becomes quiet and apologizes.
"So, Udio can you help me now?" I question.
"Yes! I will make it my sworn duty! Now follow me!" he says and then turns around.
I start following him and then Udio takes off with his earth bending creating a loud noise. My mouth drops as he takes off heading through random house's backyards and bushes. I start flying again with my feet and I follow the kid. The kid is going really fast and I follow in the process, so Amelia hair starts to fly everywhere.
Udio takes us through a dark alley way and then he shoots him up on a building. I follow in the process. He is standing the building pointing in front of him. I look to where he is pointing, and I see a deep forest.
"I have never been through here because my mom says I will leave the village and be in danger. So, I thought! Maybe your kingdom is this way! Or maybe not. Either way good luck!"
"Thanks, Udio… maybe the next time we meet is under different circumstances." I say looking at him.
I take off into the woods and I hear Udio call out to me.
"I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY SAY YOU ARE EVIL! YOU SEEM VERY NICE MR. BAD- I MEAN MR. FIRE- I MEAN PRINCE SONIC! UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN" he yells while waving his hand at me.
"He thinks I am nice" I think as I turn my head to nod at him and smile.
Amelia coughs weakly and I start to fly faster.
"Don't worry Amelia…I will protect you" I think as I inch closer to the woods.
I enter the woods and I fly and dodge the trees. Sunlight flickers on us as the leaves and branches cover the woods in a big shadow from the sun. Suddenly big alarm noises are going off causing me to stop. The noises echo so loud it causes Amelia eyes to open.
"What's going on" she says
"I am not sure, but I think it's alarm because they found out what happened to their leader- "
"Come on guys this way" says a voice in the forest.
I stop flying immediately and I jump in a tree branch. I notice a small pack of villagers from Scourge's kingdom run through the forest. They seem to be trying to escape or just get away. I am sure the news has gotten around quick about what has happened. I watch the people walk through the woods.
Amelia coughs rougher now causing her to cough up some blood.
I wipe the blood from her mouth.
"It hurts" she says weakly leaning closer to my chest.
"I know Amelia, I will get you somewhere I promise" I say back while warming my body up trying to calm her down.
I look back down and I notice the crowd is now more far in the forest. I fly up and out of the forests, staring at the river of green trees. I make sure to fly high enough for them not to hear my feet and I blast with a great speed. The noises of the siren start become faint echoes as I have been flying for an hour. I look down to Amelia as her eyes are closed. I soon head back into the forest and I land on the ground trying to see if anything is rememberable.
I start walking through the forest and I step on something.
"Rubble" I think as I stare at the black burnt debris.
"That means I am closer… but what side of the kingdom and is about to appear…"
I fly back out of the forest and I look around. I see the smallest grey figure in the distance.
I start flying near it, but I don't move as fast anymore.
"I must be running out of energy… not now body. I am almost there- "
I get cut off to the fire from my feet becoming weaker sending me back into the trees. I step on the ground and I try to use my feet again. Nothing comes out this time. I sigh and I start to walk quickly straight.
Amelia grumbles something and tries to move but her open quickly in pain as she grips at her arm.
"Hey just relax" I say and then her big blue eyes move to mine and then to the area we are in. She looks down to the ground and sees small pieces of debris.
"Wait… where are we going", she says.
'… My kingdom. I know that doesn't seem smart, but I thought maybe they could help you." I say.
"Sonic… they hate me. I don't think they will help me at all." She says looking worried.
"Well, I have a friend who specializes in health so I am just to hope that he can help you, but I am sure he will… maybe I haven't even talked to him in a long time, but I know him well. He will understand" I say walking a little faster.
"What about you though? What happens if someone finds out you are helping me".
"They have to find out soon. I want to continue to make the world equal for everyone".

Amelia smiles softly and lays her head back down to my chest while shutting her eyes.
I continue my journey to my kingdom walking quickly and jumping over thick branches and such. The sun has also moved since we have been walking for so now the sky is kind of orange. I check on Amelia every thirty minutes making sure she is okay. She just nods and sleeps in my arm which is concerning but I am trying to stay positive because I promised to help her. I trip over a stick causing me and Amelia to bounce a bit as I try to catch myself.
Amelia grimaces in pain as she opens her eyes.
"Amelia, I am so sorry- "I pause I feel something wet touch my fingers.
I look at my fingers and I notice that Amelia blood is bleeding again through my shirt I wrapped around her.
"What's wrong" Amelia asks weakly while looking at my concerned face.
'Uhh nothing. I just noticed that we are getting closer so just try to save your energy" I say quickly.
She nods softly and starts to breath slower. Her blue eyes soon shut and he her head falls back. My eyes widen as I notice she has passed out.
"Amelia..." I say while looking at her. She doesn't respond and I start to pick up my pace and run through the forest.
"Amelia! Hold on please!" I say to her and she still doesn't respond.
I curse in my head and I try to fire bend fire from my feet, but nothing comes out. I have used to much of my energy and now I can't get us back quick enough.
I stop and I lay Amelia down on the ground carefully. I take my shirt off of her torso and I lift her onto my back, then I grab my shirt and I tie it around us tightly so she is pressed onto my back so I can run.
I stand up and I move my arms from under her thighs. I take off through the forest faster. I use small blast of fire of every step I take since I can't fly in the air.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck" I think as I try to run quickly.
I run for twenty minutes I finally come across something I remember. A light brown stone path leading up to the back of my kingdom. I take a step out and then I stop suddenly as I see some of my fire kingdom citizens run through the forest chanting something. I rush back into the woods and I kneel as I watch them closely.
"COME GUYS, IF THE FIRE SOILDERS WON'T GO FIND HIM THEN WE WILL" one person yells and the rest cheer back in response.
They fly off into the sky with their fire and head into the orange sky.
I look back down the path both ways to make sure no one else was coming and I took off on the on the other side of the pathway. I run through the trees, heading to the wall of my kingdom. I reach the wall and I remember the location from my childhood. After Cosmo's death, I came back to this area a lot because the whole in the wall is how Cosmo got in the kingdom in the first place. The hole had been here for years and I have yet to tell anyone about it because of moments like this.
I pull Amelia closer to me and I crawl into the hole in the wall. I stand up to be covered by more trees. This time I can move much quicker from all the times I had snuck out of the kingdom it was so easy for me to move around the trees.
"I'm not even sure where to take her so she can get help", I think as I move around the thick trees and grass.
Walking through the trees I notice an area that changed my life forever and I close my eyes as I walk through the big open area. My breath tenses as I move through the bushes trying not to remember what I did to my best friend that day. I open my eyes slowly and sigh as I quickly move past the green shrubs.
I come across stone stools and my eyes brighten as I turn around slowly. I see the old treehouse I use to play in with my friends. I walk up to the tree and I look at the old ladder. I climb it, praying that it won't break based on how old it is. I climb up the last step and I enter the treehouse.
I look forward and I see an old hammock, Knuckles, Tails and I use to lay in as we read stories or talked in. I smile softly and I unwrap Amelia from me and I ease her down onto it. I make sure not to move her arm. I wrap the shirt back over her torso to stop the bleeding some kind of way, but I am not sure how good my soaked shirt will help at this point.
I lay her down and I look at his face. It's very pale and she looks weak. I gently move her hair out of her face, and I kiss her forehead.
"I'll be back. I just have to find Tails and Knuckles so they can help you alright? Just stay strong for me…please". I say to Amelia.
I back up quickly watching her as long as I can before I disappeared to go find my friends.
My feet hit the ground in the grass, and I take off full speed now that I am not holding someone on my back. Adrenaline runs through my veins and I soon feel a sudden power of energy. I jump and fire flies from my feet and I shoot myself in the air.
"Yes!" I think as random power comes back to my body.
I look around and I spot my castle.
"Knuckles should be in there… Since I have left, I am sure he hasn't left the kingdom in so long".
I fly quickly to my castle, trying not to be seen. I land on the roof and I swiftly jump down on window seal on the back of the castle. I look through the window and I don't see anyone. I look down more and I slide to the next window below me. I squint through the window and no one is in that as well.
"Fuck… these people are really looking for me" I think as I lower myself to the back of castle, landing on the ground, in a bush. I look around and I see no guards around.
"Ahh, where would Knuckles be" I think as I look at the now purple sky.
I haven't even noticed how dark it has gotten.
I look back down from the sky and I stand up. I quickly run to the back doors of my kingdom, moving passed stone statues and flowers planted in the garden. I open the door softly and peak my head in and I see no one around. I quietly slide in my kingdom. I look around wondering if anything had changed since I have been gone. The carpet is still the same burgundy, it's nice and tidy but no one is walking around like usual, not even maids or guards. I walk down the hallway as my feet touches the carpet reminding me that I am home.
I come across the library and I see no one. Then I see the maid's quarters, no one. The kitchen, no one. The music room, no one.
"Fuck where is everyone" I say quietly.
My eyes move to some stairs and I think someone may be up there. I run quickly and quietly up the stairs. I look around carefully before fully stepping out. The castle is completely quiet. I turn my head to the right, and I can see my room from far away. Things are placed in front of it and causing me to get up and move involuntary. I come closer and I see that flowers, pictures, drawings, candles, small notes are place in front of it. One note is folded, and I bend down to pick it up. I open it and read it.
"Come home prince"
I smile softly and I place it down on the side.
"DAMMIT" I hear from my room causing me to snap out of my trance.
I walk up to the door and I press my ear on it. I hear someone in there throwing down papers as it hits the floor. A sigh also follows that, and I hear the papers get picked up from the floor. I remove my ear from my door, and I grab the handle opening it slowly so it wouldn't make a noise. I peak my head in and I see Knuckles picking up papers from the floor.
My eyes brighten and I slowly ease myself into my room. He hasn't notice I walked on in because of how he was picking up the papers angrily.
"Sonic where the fuck are you…" He says while shaking his head.
I slowly close the door and I lock it. I stare at him as he picks up the papers.
"Should I just say something…" I think as I take a small step closer.
"No… he would just yell and flip out causing everyone to rush into my room"
I take another step and this time the floor creaks causing him to stop picking up his papers. He doesn't move and I don't either as the floor has blown my cover. Knuckles swings his arm back with a slicing blast of fire, it comes at me causing me to duck and he turns around with a quickness. I place my hand over his mouth, and I cover hand over his eyes as well. He then grunts and places his hand on back and pulls me close to him.
We both lose balance and we fall into my closet. He slams me on my back on the floor and brings his fist back. I remove my hand from his eyes and my eyes meets his now gold ones. His eyes widen causing me to shush him instantly.
He moves my hand from his mouth and yells
"SONI- "I cover his mouth again.
"Please shut the fuck Knuckles please" I say but Knuckles starts to freak out.
He grabs my hand away from his mouth again and starts talking loudly.
"OH MY GOD SONIC"
"Knuckles please be- "
He pulls me in for a big hug causing me not being able to breathe.
"Knu...ckles…your… crushin… me-"
He lets me go and I take a big breath of air.
"SONIC WHERE HAVE BEEN… WE THOUGHT YOU WERE KIDDNAPPED BY THE PRINCES-
"KNUCKLES LISTEN" I whisper harshly.
"Wha-what happened to you" he says while looking at my face.
"I will tell you everything later, but I need you to help me" I say and he gets off of me eyeing my body.
"Later? Dude, I have been looking for you everywhere… everyone has… we thought… I thought I lost- "Knuckles stops talking as tears wind up in his eyes.
I look at his pained face and I guilt starts to fill my mind.
"Knuckles I'm sorry I- "
"Sonic. We promised to tell each other everything. After Cosmo, you promised me. We made a promise Sonic", he says while now standing up and backing away from me.
"I know we Knuckles but I had to think fast… how was I going to save…"
I remember Amelia is waiting for me and I stand up with a quickness passing Knuckles. I open my window and then I look back at Knuckles.
"I need your help Knuckles, I really do" I say looking into his gold eyes and then they turn back to purple.
"My help… Sonic, you lied to me and now you want my- "
"Knuckles please! If we don't hurry Amelia is not going to make it" I say pleading him to drop this for now so we can help her.
"…who" he says as his eyes start to become dark.
"No, Knuckles it isn't like that- "
"What in the fuck are you doing with the water kingdom princess", he says stepping closer to me.
"Knuckles, I will explain later- "
"NO SONIC, YOU TELL ME WHAT THE FUCK YOU HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE YOU NEVER WANT TO TELL ME SHIT ANYMORE" he says looking at me angrily.
I walk up to him angry as well and I grab his shirt.
"Knuckles… please just come help me save her! I promise to tell you everything after we help her"
He slaps my hands off his shirt and a blast of heat comes from him.
"Oh, so now you want to start making fucking promises and shit that you can't keep! What if you are lying Sonic! What if you are trying to trick me, huh? What it seems like is that you left your entire kingdom to go follow some water girl that had us thinking she kidnapped you or you betrayed the kingdom! Do you know how much bullshit I have had to go through? Everyone was putting me on blast! Wondering how I didn't know you were going to be kidnapped or even if you started working with the water kingdom! I am your first in command Sonic! Your First! WE PROMISED TO TELL EACH OTHER EVERYTHING AND YOU LEFT ME WITH NOTHING THAT DAY! NOTHING! AND NOW YOU EXPECT ME TO FOLLOW YOU INTO SOME BULLSHIT THAT YOU STILL HAVEN'T TOLD ME ABOUT!" he yells at me while pointing a finger in my face.
I take in all he says and take a breath.
"Knuckles… I'm sorry. I am. I know I am asking you a lot of something you know nothing about but that's why I came to you… I know you would help me out with something like this. That's why I am asking Knuckles. I know our trust is a little shaky right now, but I swear knuckles" I say as I place my hand on his shoulder.
"I promise to you that I am not lying. I really need your help to save her"
He looks at me in betrayal and then shrugs my hand off his shoulder.
"…fine. Since this girl is so much important than the kingdom you left behind. I will come."
The comment he makes strikes through my heart and I open the window.
"I left her at the treehouse since that is probably the only place for her to be this moment" I say climbing out of the window and jumping on the roof.
"Wait where" Knuckles asks following me.
"The treehouse- "
"TAILS IS AT THE TREEHOUSE" Knuckles says looking at me with his eyes widened.
I stare at him in shock trying to comprehend what he just said. Knuckles starts to take off toward the trees deep in the kingdom.
"He was already there…" I think as I stand up slowly walking to the direction where Knuckles went.
My eyes widen as I start to fly as I think of something else.
"Did he… did he see me kiss Amelia's forehead? No... there is no way he was in there… I didn't even hear or see anyone. I haven't even had the chance to tell him about the whole situation! If he was there and saw, then… Cosmo. What if he…"
My vison goes dark and all I can see is the trees. I feel darkness drain the life from the small amount of energy I had causing me to fall from the sky, snapping me back into reality.
"AHHH KNUCKLES WAIT" I say as I plummet to the ground.
He turns around quickly and catches me before I hit the ground.
"Shesh, whatever you have been doing must be one hell of a adventure.
He says while taking off to the forest in the now night sky.
"Yeah… you don't know the half of it" I say.
We fly over houses and I look down at them. The neighborhood is empty and the only thing lighting up the little neighborhood is the lights and a couple of lightening bugs flying around. I turn my attention back to the dark forest and we enter it swiftly. Branches reach out to touch us but I duck my head so they wouldn't hit me. Knuckles lands near the stone stools and I hop from his back and I head up the tree quickly. I hear Knuckles right behind me. I push the door open and I see Tails kneeled down near her body.
I stand on the tree house floor and I stare at Tails back as his hands move towards Amelia's body. I open my mouth to speak but I can't.
I haven't really talked to Tails ever since that day. I tried to talk to him, but he constantly shut me down and out of his life. If I were to speak to him now it would not feel right. Knuckles steps beside me trying to see what he was doing to Amelia.
"Uh, Tails" Knuckles says now walking closer to him but super close.
"Yeah?" He says while moving his hands in a weird motion.
"Uhm… what are you- "
"I am doing exactly what Sonic wanted us to do" He turns around with blood on his hands a medical sewing tool.
His eyes look at Knuckles and then to mine. I try to read his emotions, trying to see how much he saw but he is acting so calm right now it's confusing.
"Isn't that right Sonic? You said to the Princess that you were going to go get your friends so we can save her, right?" Says Tails.
"Shit… so he did see me kiss her forehead" I think.
"Uhm, yeah that's right… I just didn't know you were in here" I say walking closer to see what he was doing to Amelia.
Amelia wound was now halfway sewn together, and her arm had been put in thick bandages. Her face also had creams and band-aids here and there.
"Yeah, I came here thinking maybe you left some note stating why you left and well." He turns back around to Amelia and chuckles a bit.
"I got my answer for sure" Tails says while going back to sewing Amelia.
My heart thumps loudly as I am not sure what he means by that.
"Is he talking about the kiss on the forehead… I didn't even call her Princess Amelia in his presence, so I know he knows something is up- "
"Wow, Sonic is completely quiet. What's going through your mind because we know when you go quiet like that when you are hiding something." Tails putting his sewing kit away and reach for bandages,
Knuckles eyes moves to mine in confusion, and I look at him.
"I was just thinking about how I didn't see you… and why you are helping me out since- I mean we haven't talked forever so I at least wanted to ease you in on the situation- "
"Wow more lies "Tails says wrapping the bandages around Amelia tightly.
"Tails- "
Tails tightens the bandages around Amelia roughly causing her to squint her eyes in pain and grunt a bit. I move quickly and I grabs Tail's shoulder pulling him away from her. He roughly pushes my hand from his shoulder and walks close up to my face until we are one inch apart.
A blast of heat slowly fills the room as I stare into Tails eyes, not afraid of anything he is trying to pull. Tails slowly starts to laugh and looks at Knuckles. He points a finger at me and then walks to Knuckles.
"You know he is hiding something right? He wouldn't have acted like he just did if I hurt a water bender" He says and looks back at me.
Knuckles looks at me slowly and then shakes his head.
"Okay, look we will get to the bottom of this later. For some reason Sonic said Princess Amelia needs help so we should offer that for her at least- "
Tails starts to laugh loudly holding his stomach at Knuckles comment.
"Oh, so we are helping out water benders now?! Wow! Where was this years ago-?
"Tails! Drop it for now!" Knuckles yells at Tails.
Tails scoffs and walks back to Amelia, but I stand in his way causing him to look at me in annoyance.
"I am just trying to help- "
"No, you are done. Tell me what needs to be done from here on out" I spat back.
Tails heat comes back causing me to step back closer to Amelia protecting her.
"This is the dumbest shit ever. Once again Sonic you make no fucking sense and Knuckles is taking your side like the follower he is and is not seeing how this is against everything the fire kingdom is about! Here you are protecting a water bender. NO, NOT EVEN A WATER BENDER BUT THE PRINCESS OF THE WATER KINGDOM. Oh, but right. Since Sonic is a prince, he gets to do whatever he wants and never gets punished for it!" he says, and his fire heat calms down.
"You know what. I don't give a fuck anymore. All Amelia needs is a warm bed until her blood comes back. After that she can heal her arm, her bruised ribs and her scars." He says and walks passed Knuckles without looking at him and opening the treehouse door.
"Fuck you guys" he says lastly and descends from the ladder after slamming the door from the treehouse.
Knuckles looks away from the door and makes his ways to my eyes. I slowly look away from him and I look back at Amelia who is breathing slowly. I gently crouch down to her and I pick her up carefully trying not to wake her. I look at Knuckles and his eyes are hurt but he shakes his head.
"Hey… let me take her to your room… you need to tell the kingdom you are back so everyone can be at peace again." He says holding out his arms.
"What do I even say what happened to me" I say looking at her face.
"I'm not sure man… but I do know that we have to keep her hidden for now" he says.
I nod my head in agreement and I hand him to her. He holds her and I open the door for both of them to climb out of. Knuckles climbs down carefully, and I follow them out as well closing the door behind me. We touch the ground and we take a couple of steps until he stops.
"Sonic" he says and turns around to me with a serious face.
"Yeah". I say, possibly knowing where he was going with this.
Knuckles looks down to Amelia's face and then looks at me.
"Do you…have feelings for her" he says looking me.
I stare at him for a second and then Amelia pink hair flows in the wind as the moonlight touches it gently. Every moment from the time I looked at Amelia's hands made me realize how much effort I put into a person. More than I ever have before in my life. Every time I look at her, I feel like I just have to protect her and make her laugh so I can get to see that smile and blush at least once every day. I clench my fist and I look back up to him.
"…Yeah" I say softly.
Knuckles smiles softly and turns around.
"Well at least I know I can trust you again if you could tell me that… we will talk about this later tomorrow. Just try to get some sleep. Stop thinking about this situation for a moment. Just come back so your people can calm down and your dad can be at ease."
"Right. Okay. Thanks again Knuckles" I say as I watch Knuckles nod his head taking off into the sky with Amelia.
I sigh as I go the other way heading to the front of the kingdom. The energy in my body is on empty I think as I yawn flying over grass and trees. I fly towards a pathway to my kingdom and I land on the stone. I walk slowly to the gates and I move my eyes up to the sky.
"I am going back home finally. Things are going to be so different from here on out and I have yet to think about that. I have soon to become king and then on top of that I have to tell my father about Amelia one day. Damn, even Cheyenne will have to know about this which is probably going to cause him to give me an earful. Sigh I know these next few days are going to tough somehow but… I know I am ready because now I am fighting for someone… Amelia." I think as I place my hands behind my head walking closer to the gates, waiting for the guards to see me.
"And Tails… I have fucked up again. I am sure Tails knows I have a thing for her. He isn't dumb so I don't know why I was trying to hide it. It was obvious but he still didn't tell Knuckles and why? I thought he hated me. That he would do anything for me to feel some kind of uncomfortableness, but he doesn't make any actions to make me think he does. Maybe he does hate me though… I can't blame him. I look so stupid having feelings for Amelia knowing that I killed another water bender that-… I am so stupid. Tails doesn't deserve this and all I keep giving him is bad shit every time. Fuck... I don't know how I am going to try to fix things with him. But I know I have too. He saved her. Even after all the bullshit I put him through. He still did it..."
I hear yelling causing me to look down from the sky and at the the walls of my kingdom.
"IT'S HIM. OPEN THE GATES THE PRINCE HAS RETURNED" yelled a guard.
Alarms start going off and the gates open. Some guards rush to the entrance of the door and watch me in amazement. Some female guards gasp and they drop their weapons onto the floor. I remove my arms from the back of my head, and I pass the guards as they let me in.
"Sorry for the scare" I say bowing.
I look up to see tears in their eyes causing me to feel even worse for making them feel this way. I soon here more voices and a crowd of my citizens start to yell and walk closer to me. Some fly with their feet while others just runs to the gates. I get fully surround by them and they start touching me, kissing my hands and hugging me if I get close enough.
"Prince Sonic we are so glad you are back" A older man yells patting me on the back.
"Prince Sonic! We thought you were gone forever" A teen girl says while trying to reach out and touch my shoulder.
"PLEASE EVERYONE MAKE ROOM" Says a recognizable strong voice in the crowd. Everyone moves back and Jet appears before me.
I wave at him at him and he smirks. I take a step and then I feel my knee buckle and I fall to the floor. Everyone gasps and Jet runs to me picking me up and throwing my arm over his shoulder.
"No, no I am fine- "I say as I try to stand up and I fall back down immediately.
"It's alright Prince Sonic. We have you now" he says.
"Everyone please makes room! Prince Sonic needs urgent care right now! So, if you all could return to your homes this would make things a bit easier for the Prince to get the care, he needs" he yells, and everyone backs up far.
Jet and other guards start to escort me to the castle. I look at my citizens and they at me worriedly.
"It's okay guys… I just over did it. I will come back out tomorrow reassuring you that I am well. But for now, go home and rest." I say tiredly.
Some of them nod and turn away going back to their homes while others follow behind us while keeping a distance.
We finally make it to the kingdom, and I see Cheyenne at the steps of the entrance. He runs down them and grabs my body pulling it in for a hug.
"Oh my god… Sonic… We thought we lost you… Oh my god"
Cheyenne pulls me back trying to get a look at my face.
I look at Cheyenne's and his eyes are full of tears.
I pull him in for a hug and he hugs me back as well.
"Sorry… for the scare" I say.
"Welcome back… Prince Sonic" says a voice at the entrance of the castle.
I look up to see a blue hedgehog look at me in pure happiness.
"Thanks Dad" I say back.
