AMY POV
His mouth still had that metal band around it so his words would be eligible and I stare at his body as it lays on the floor. More tears fall from my eyes as I look over him and then I back to Sally, confused.
"I… I thought-"
"You thought we killed him?" she says and Cass laughs and pulls Sonic up and ties his handcuffs back up to the chains. "Why would we kill someone so important? That crazy." Sally says but then she laughs.
"But man was it worth seeing that look on your face. Haha, you were balling." Sally says and she stands up ruffles my hair as I look at her.
"Aww, poor princess thought she lost her friend." Sally says.
"Princess. I told you a promise is a promise! We are friends." Cass says and pats Sonic on the head. "Look I even cleaned him up for you."
Sonic face was a lot clearer because they healed him Sonic looked brand new. Like he wasn't even hurt at all. His green eyes shined powerfully like they always did and he his eyes were on mine the entire time he got in here.
"So, now we are friends." Sally says too and looks over to me. "Aren't we? I have fixed him after you asked and now, I hope both of you will be loyal and do the things we ask." She says.
"…What things…" I ask and Cass starts getting excited from me being curious.
Sally sits in front of me and I look at Sonic who was looking at Sally like he didn't trust her.
"SO much to talk about. Right Sonic?" she asks and Sonic looks at her like he wanted to kill snap her head off.
"For one. Don't you want to know how we knew you were here?" she asks and I listen carefully. "Or why we need you both here. Or where you are? Or where we came from? Cass having two abilities. Why had we tortured Sonic? Why we needed you here?" She says.
"I'm going to answer those all for you because I want my new friends to be comfortable in the events about to take place soon so too start off… We needed you here to give Sonic inspiration to take a test and open the spirit world." She says.
"Spirit world… what's that?" I ask.
"The spirit world is a place where immortals, supernatural entities exist. Besides from the physical world we are in now, that is inhabited by us people. It's a home for spirits and it is open for a couple of months actually." She says and looks at Sonic. "The spirit world used to be open to mankind. The entrance being here and then it being on the other side of the planet. But now we leave separate because mankind became evil and the spirits had to close it off. Only spirits can enter the spirit world."
"And Sonic just happens to inhibit a spirit himself." She says and I still feel confused about all this information.
"His spirit in him is pretty evil. Well compared to his mother and then her mother and so and so on but any spirit can leave and enter the spirit world which is why we need Sonic. We need him to open it so I can get a spirit. Spirits were used to fight off other evil spirits but then mankind starts using it to take over lands and to kill people so that's why we can't enter ourselves and we need the prince."
"We were able to go a couple of times but it wasn't that safe because you can get your spirit or soul trapped in it which means you if you go in you should take it seriously because you are risking your life. But Cass, was able to do it and… it might have knocked a couple of screws lose but he is in perfect shape." Sally says and Cass gives me a thumbs up.
"That's why Cass is such a strong good boy. Isn't that right Cass?" Sally says and Cass blushes.
"… So… Cass is possessed by a spirit?" I ask and Sally smiles.
"Wow, so smart! Yes, that's why he has some of the abilities he as. We granted a random spirit a body of a strong man and they took over the body. Erasing the old Cass and creating a new one."
"So… this guy isn't even himself. They probably forced him to do that" I think as I stare at the Fox who was smiling at the nice compliments.
"What are you going to do with the power once you get it?" I ask.
"Probably destroy all the kingdoms and have the world live in turmoil." She says and my eyes widen.
"Haha, I'm just kidding. Just to create my own kingdom and probably destroy the fire kingdom because why not?" she says and Sonic growls making her laugh.
"Whatever. They don't like you either, so I am doing you a favor." She says and I start thinking about the fire kingdom.
"So… how did you find us?" I ask her eyes lighten up.
"The best question. We were watching you after you killed Scourge. What a fight. Then you all went to the fire kingdom after, the princess was about to die and we were thinking about attacking you guys then but we lost him because Sonic took off quickly but so we looked around and then just guessed that you both made it to the kingdom so we travel back here and then when Cass was going on run to do something for me he said he spotted you being carried by some airbenders." She says and starts to smile.
"You guys both came right to us and we were just waiting for the right time for you to split up and we caught Sonic on the beach distracted. Stabbed him twice, brought him here, made him do the test, he failed it immediately so now we had to go get him some inspiration… which is you."
"Me…I-"
"Yes, you! We couldn't figure out who Sonic cared about the most but based from the you two fighting Scourge and then all the way now. I have guessed that Sonic cares about you a lot." Sally says.
"Right Sonic?" Sally asked and Sonic just stares at her.
"So, here is the big choice. This one is for you. Cass take off the metal cover." Cass walks over and reaches behind head and takes off his metal cover and Sonic watches Cass carefully and angrily.
Sally stands up and walks over to Sonic and looks over his face.
"Prince-"
"No. You can't make me do a damn thing. I won't open shit for you to gain power do evil amongst the fire kingdom. I won't." Sonic says and watches her as she bends down.
"You won't. Are you sure?" she asks and Sonic leans in closer to her face and Sally doesn't move.
"The only thing I am sure about is killing both of you once I get out of these handcuffs."
Sonic response makes Sally scoff and then she moves closer to him.
"That's okay. I'll change your mind." She says and she looks at Cass.
"Cass. Take the princess." She says and Sonic eyes widen and Cass walks over to me and Sonic watches him. "Since Sonic won't agree, I want you to break a bone for every five minutes that pass."
Cass seems sad of the request and he starts to reach for my hand cuffs.
He un hooks it and I lean back but he grabs me with ease.
"Just let me know when you want to agree-"
"I'll do it!" he yells and I look at him.
Sonic looks at me and then back to them. "I'll do it. Put her down and-"
"And what?" Sally asks getting annoyed. "You are making this so difficult. Getting your friends hurt and now risking the life of the princess because you can't agree to something so simple!" Sally yells and Sonic continues to look at me.
"Are you going to take the test?" she yells and Sonic nods his head.
"Yes." He says sternly and Sally watches him.
"If you don't. We are doing her exactly like we did you. I'm tired of you wasting our time." Sally says and looks at Cass. "Put her back."
Sally says and I get hooked back on. Cass stands back and walks to the back as Sally looks at us.
"If you even fail the test we are hurting her. If you second guess the test we are hurting her and if you even show any resistance then we are hurting her. Do you understand?" she asks and Sonic nods his head.
"Great. Now Cass get Sonic-"
"Wait." I say and they look at me. "I'm still confused about this test. He won't get hurt will he? He will come back? And what happens after? Are you releasing us?"
"Princess of course we are releasing you guys. We just need Sonic, because he is the key to the spirit world. And he won't be hurt unless his passes. He could possible lose his spirit in there but that's based on he performance." She says and then she stands up.
"He is stll risking his life for me. Over and Over again. I'm the one who got him in this mess. Why is he still doing this."
"Now, then lets get started-"
"WAIT!" I yell. "Can… can I have a few minutes to talk to him?" I ask.
"For what? He is coming back-"
"Yeah but- I want to give him inspiration to finish the test… so he can be safe." I say and Sally exhales through her nose.
"Please… just a moment-"
"Fine. Cass come on. You both have ten minutes." She says.
"Ten… can we have more time-"
"I'll make it five then." She says and my eyes widen.
"Ten is fine." I reply back and she smiles and leaves with Cass.
I wait for the door to lock to look at Sonic and he looks at me. We both just look at each other, thinking about everything Sally said and how long they had been following us. It had been so long since we fought Scourge so hearing them know about that makes us think and look at each other.
My mind was so blank, so I look off and to the wall.
"So much is flowing in my mind."
SONIC POV
"Why didn't you run?" I ask and she turns her head back to look at me. "I was motioning to you to run. You knew I was, but you still wanted to protect me. Did it not look like a set-up of how they had me out there?" I ask and she doesn't say a word.
But I didn't care.
"I'm taking the test and they are going to let you go. You aren't to come back for me. Look for me. Anything. This is too dangerous just for you to stay here and try to protect me. I don't need it."
The room is quiet as she stares at me and she looks off and turn towards her.
"Amy, look at me-"
"Why!" She yells looking at me and her lip shakes. "I can't look at someone who is planning to risk their life for me! I never asked you to do that!" She yells and turns towards me . "You just thought I was going to let them take you in and hold you hostage?"
"Amy, there is nothing you can do! Nothing!" I yell back and tears come in her eyes. "I don't need you to protect me either! Your life is so much more important than mine. Have you even thought about what would happen if they were to kill you or even hurt you? The entire world is depending on you-"
"What about you! You are no different than I am. The fire kingdom needs you too!" she says.
"Amy, the fire kingdom has shunned me. I'm not wanted there. I don't have a kingdom like you do! I don't have that anymore! When are you going to realize that your life is the state of the world. You shouldn't have came here!"I say and I look away from her.
Amy stays quiet and looks ahead but then she turns back to me.
"So your life doesn't matter?" She asks and I shake my head.
"Not as much as yours." I say.
"Your life does matter-"
"Not enough for you to risk yours!" I say and I start getting angrier. "Remember when they kicked me from the palace, because I "hurt" you. They kicked me off because I suck as a person. They all think that and now you are here. Trying to save a pointless life by risking your own." I lean my head back and I stare at the door.
"You are wasting your time trying to save me. I'm going to go take this test to get you freed and if… if I don't return then you keep going to reach your goal for changing the world-"
"My goal…" she says softly and turns to me and I look at her.
Tears were coming out of her eyes and she looked pissed.
"That is our goal." She says and turns her arms to look at me. "We were doing this together… why are you talking like you are giving up. Like you won't be here to live tomorrow!"
Amy words shut me up and I want to look away.
"We are supposed to do this together! You hot headed idiot!" She says and jumps at me. "IF I COULD MOVE MY HANDS, I WOULD SLAP THE NONSENSE OUT OF YOUR MOUTH!"
"Together? You hate me-"
"Hate?! I have never hated you! I just think the things you do and say are so stupid that it makes me want to slap the shit out of you because you can't just have a clear head during these situations. You think risking your life is going to make me like you more or help the fate of the world? It isn't! You dumb shit!" Amy yells and breathes heavily.
"I need you!" Amy yells and I stare at her. "We all do! Tails, K-Knuckles, Blaze…" Amy stares to cry and shakes her head. "We all need you. You can't just… you can't just leave me. I need you more than all of them." She says and her tears are heavy and sad. "The fact that you want to leave me alone makes me so pissed. What am I here for? I thought I was here to get you back and continue to save the world just to find out that you don't even want to do it anymore!"
Amy turns away from me and shakes her head.
"Fucking idiot."
The room goes quiet and I turn away from her as we sit in quiet. Her words about me giving up made me think but all I could think about was getting her out of here.
"I'm going to get her out of here. If it's the last thing I do."
Amy sits up better and wipes her tears off with her shoulder and looks ahead.
"If you don't promise me to survive. I'm telling then I can fire bend. Maybe I have a spirit in me too. Two abilities from two different benders." She says and doesn't look at me.
"I'll make them take me instead of you. Since you refuse to try."
Amy saying makes my jaw drop this time I turn to her.
"What… what are you saying." I ask and she looks at me angrily.
"You know exactly what I am saying. I'm going to give up just like you. Throw myself into the fire. Since you don't care about making the world equal anymore then I won't either." Amy says and looks back at the door and leans back.
"… Amy. You can't."
"I am." She says simply and waits for the door to open.
"Stop, looking at the door." I say and she frowns and continues to look at it." Amy I'm serious. Don't tell them that. You need to get out of here-"
"Then don't give up!" She yells and I watch her. "You… you want to leave me here all alone? You think I can change the world all without you? You just trust these people trying to get you to enter a world we don't even understand, and they expect you to come out fine? Did you see Cass? He isn't normal so you don't need to go!" She yells.
"I have to keep you safe, Amy."
"You can't keep me safe if you are dead!" She yells and starts to cry again.
"Say you won't take the test to me and I won't say a word about my abilities. Promise me! "she tries to convince but I can't let her risk her life anymore for me.
"I can't… promise you that. I have to get you safe."
"Then shut up!" She yells and sits back down with tears in her eyes. "I'm telling them and I'm getting you out of here! Just watch!" Amy actions makes me scared for what she was going to do.
I try to think of some other to convince her but is was too late since
Cass walks back in. Cass looks over our faces and Amy sniffs her nose since she had been crying.
"Uh… is everything okay?" Cass comes in and asks and he looks at Amy more.
"Don't tell him. Please Amy don't."
"Princess?" Cass asks walking up to her and leaning getting on his knees. He touches her face to look at the tears coming out and then looks at her closer.
"You still look pretty as you cry but I'm confused why." He says and Amy lets him touch her face.
"Because the prince is an asshole." She says and I look at her become angry again.
"He is pretty rude. He called me so many things when I tied him up to bait you in. What's his problem." Cass says and then he blushes and grabs under her chin and makes her look at him.
Cass moves her hair back behind her ear and then looks at me as I watch him. Cass chuckles and touches her leg making her look at him quickly.
"You know I'm still up for that date right. We can go now. I came in here to tell you guys that you had more time but I thought you wouldn't want to spend all that time with him when you could be spending it with someone who doesn't make you angry or sad." He asks and then moves closer to her and his lips are right beside her ear while he looked at me"What do you say-"
"Cass, you shit. Get away from her!" I yell and Cass laughs.
"Jealous? Because she likes me more than she likes you right now. See Sonic, MAYBE if you wasn't so mean then the princess would like you too. " Cass says and I was sick of being in these hand cuffs and not able to hit one of these people.
Cass looks back to Amy and rubs her hair and stares at her dreamily. "Well, I have to go. Think about my date offer" Cass says and stands up slowly and looks at me and smirks. He shakes his head and leaves and our room goes silent again.
I don't move my eyes to look at her but I can still she was still upset based on how she wouldn't even look my way. I sigh and lean my head back because if I were to be taken then I at least wanted to end this off right.
"Everything that has been coming out my mouth lately has been pissing her off. I try to think… before I say this time."
"Amy… I'm sorry about what I said when we were talking… by the storage room. I was mad and… um. I didn't mean it. You know I didn't. I just wanted to fix our situation so we could talk again." I say and she still looks forward.
"Also… I'm not giving up on our dream to make this world better… I just want to entrust that in you because… I care about you and I want you to live. If anyone here deserves to live its you. And you know it. That's why I need you to go on without me… Please don't be stubborn and stay here to save me." I say calmer this time, but Amy continues to ignore me and look forward at the door.
"Shit… okay. I have to think of something to get her out of here."
I turn towards and her eyes start to water again as she looks at the door and tries to not make eye contact with me.
"… If… if I don't return then you have to go home and fix it yourself. You are a strong woman. I know you can do it." I say and a tear runs out of her face.
"But without you?" Amy asks and more tears come out as her mouth wrinkles.
"Yes. This conversation is harsh but Amy…you know you have to leave and finish this the plan. I took the test, practically and It took almost every ounce of chi out of me. Like it drained the life from me and I stopped it because I almost died. You cant do the test because you wont last one second so after I try to do the test… I'll…" I swallow heavily and shrug my shoulders.
"I'll sacrifice myself and you don't need to intervene. I'll do my best to try to survive but I don't think I can. " I say and sigh.
"Just go when they let you-"
"You don't want to be with me?" she asks and she finally looks at me.
"…I do… wait what are you asking?" I say and Amy starts looking even more sad.
"I'm asking if you want to be with me." She asks again and I look over her face.
"I'm not sure what you mean-"
Amy body moves closer to mine and her nose rubs against my face as she kisses me. I don't kiss her back as I watch her tears come out of her face up closely. I could taste some of the salt coming from her tears on her lips and she presses her lips on mine harder. She opens her eyes and leans back and looks at me.
"I'm asking if you want to be with me."
Her new question with a different meaning than I thought made me stop moving. Her eyes go back to my lips and she leans back to kiss me but this kiss is slower. Her chest moves to mine as she leans over the most she can and I slowly kiss her back. Moving closer to her so she wouldn't have to reach so far.
My brain freezes as I kiss her lips I haven't kissed in so long and I practically melt in it. I move closer to her and tilts her head and kisses me deeper. My hands move to touch her but they couldn't so I just kissed her the best I could in the uncomfortable position. Amy then sucks on my bottom lip and her tongue comes in my mouth and I push even more against her trying to copy her actions she was doing to me.
Air from her nose brushes against my upper lip and then she pulls back. I stay where I am and I look at her lips only since me and her haven't kissed in so long.
"I know I said… I couldn't forgive you." She whispers and tears slide out. "But… a world without you is something I can live in. I noticed that my heart was deeper for you when I heard you was kidnapped. I was so busy being mad at you for not telling me about Cosmo that I forgot about you are trying to be better… I should have taken the time to understand your reasoning of not telling us. I should have just…" Amy looks off and then her eyes come back to mine. "We could have just talked about it but I made it worse than that because I was just… I just liked you so much and to find out that you were hiding that from me, blew me way off because I thought we were on the same train. And now we still aren't because you want to l- leave me." Amy breaks down and coughs.
"You want to leave me in this world all alone to save me!"She yells and I stare at her face. "Fuck the world. When is the world ever going to give us a break to do what we want for once! Our entire lives were in turmoil from the earliest we could remember anything!" Amy breathes heavily her shiny blue leak sadness.
"I don't want to make the world better if you aren't there to help me. I can't do it all myself. I'm tired of looking like this strong princess when I'm weak. I… I need you! And you can't just promise to be with me after all of this and then break it when things start to get tough." Amy says.
"Why can't you promise to be with me after all this is over again. Overlooking this situation and everything else. Did you just lie to me?" Amy asks.
"…No. I… I want to be with you, if you want me too. I thought you hated me… or didn't want to be with me." I say and Amy looks at me like I am stupid.
"I do! I just asked you three times and you keep on saying you won't be here for that!" Amy yells. "Ugh, this is what makes me want to slap you all the time!"
Amy turns away from me she cries and fumes at the same time.
"I guess that's why you are crying too." I say and Amy stops talking again.
"Amy… look at me." I say and she doesn't." Please…"
Amy turns to me and looks at me annoyed. I look at her lips and I lean to kiss her, but she turns her head and moves away from me.
"I'm not kissing anyone who doesn't want to be with me." Amy says."
"I do."
Amy blushes and turns to me slowly. I lean in and I kiss her cheek making her turn fully to me. We both look at our lips and we move back in together. Kissing Amy made me forget about how stressful life is and I was also happy that I could do this with someone who had my heart too. The way her lips felt on mine, made me wish my arms were freed to hug her every time we readjusted our lips to kiss again. Amy then pulled away from me and she looked over my face and more tears fell out. I try to move closer to her and she places her face on the side my face and I lean mine to hers.
Amy sniffs and then she clears her throat and looks at me.
"Promise me something…" Amy says and I wait for her to speak. "Promise to be with me after this."
AMY POV
"Promise me." I say again and Sonic seems unsure making me angry again. I slam my head against his and he winces and looks at me.
"Promise me you will be with me! Like you did before!" I yell and he observes my face as I cry and yell at him again.
"If you won't… I'll make you keep it. I'll tell them I have two abilities and that I can make it farther than you on the test. I'll do it and they will believe me. I'll get them too and then they will kick you out and you won't have a choice but to be with me!"
Sonic looks shocked and before he speaks again I talk before him. "PROMISE ME!"
Sonic eyes water as he looks at the door and then he comes back to me.
"Amy, if you get hurt, trying to protect me again. I can't live with myself after that-"
"Either way I came here to save you! You either do it the easy way or the hard way! I'm giving you a choice to pick how you want to see me save you."
Sonic nods his head and I feel at ease, but I still stare at him.
"You waste as much time as you can until I bring everyone here to help out. Ask them if you can rest up before you take the test so you can pass it or eat slowly and act like you are sick afterwards. Waste as much time as you can. Don't go into the test. Just waste time until I can get back."
Sonic hears that I am planning to bring the others and that stupid look comes back to his face making me want to beat his ass even more.
"Then afterwards we can stop these crazies and leave. Promise me that." I say and Sonic seems so worried.
"If you want to be with me, then you will. Don't sit here and lie to me when you don't have too. If you lie to me and take the test, then I will never forgive you." I say.
The door clicks and prepares to open making Sonic look at it and then at me.
"Promise me." I whisper and Sonic looks at me lips and then straightens back up as Sally comes in with Cass.
"Are we ready! I gave you guys more time to talk since I respect that but Sonic should be fully ready." Sally says walking up to him and Sonic watches her.
"You free her first and then I'll do it." Sonic says and Sally nods her head.
"I will. Cass will do it right now while we have a talk about the trial so you can pass it the first time." Sally says and Cass comes up to me and takes me off of the chains.
Sally starts to talk to Sonic about something but me and him both look at each other like we were talking with our eyes only. Trying to keep watch of each other the longest we could before I got taken out of the room and led out into the hallway. I watch the hallway and I look around the entire area. Memorizing anything I could to help me get back here. Cass stops walking and he pushes me against the wall and then he moves his body on my torso. He grabs my chin and raises as he looks at me and then rubs my arm softly.
I try to push him off but he just pushes me back harder making me look at his eyes that was close to mine.
"Cass, stop-"
Cass covers my mouth and he touches a door beside me that I couldn't see that because how dark it was and he opens it. He pushes me in forcefully and then closes the door. The room had one candle lit in the corner and Cass pushed me forward in room and then he turned to me and his red eyes was the only thing I could see in here.
"Princess…" Cass says and he runs his fingers through my hair. " I heard the conversation from you and the prince." He says and I slowly panic.
"You are going to come back here and try to get him?" Cass questions and I look off but Cass grips my face even harder making me wince."Right? You are going to try to get him back?
I don't speak at first but then… I remembered that I promised Sonic I will so the next words coming out of my mouth felt strong.
"We are. We are going to stop all of you. I won't let Sonic take the test." I say quickly and Cass laughs.
"You are going to try to kill us?" he asks.
"If you are putting an innocent life in danger for your own reasoning then I won't have any choice but to get violent."
Cass chuckles and then he moves his face to my neck and kisses it making me push him off of me and then he grabs my arms and turns me around so my face was pressed against the wall and moves himself on my back slowly. His hand touches my hip and my thigh and I try to push him off of me but he was a firm grip on the my wrists.
"Everything you say and do its so attractive. Such a strong woman." Cass whispers out and moves his nose into my hair. "Fighting for what you believe in until you can't fight anymore. That's so exciting… Just one date. That's all I ask, princess."
"A date." I say and he turns me around and his stupid sadistic smile is on his face, but I run with his charade.
"I'll give you a date. But you don't tell Sally I am coming back so I can sneak in here and we can go on one. Just you and me." I say and Cass blushes.
"But you have to promise me not tell."
Cass looks over my proposition and he starts laughing and blushing and then he moves off of me.
"I promise! So, what we doing for our first date!" he asks.
"Well, since you treated Sonic so bad I want to return the favor. Since that's how we treat each other so I'm going to beat you until you until you can't walk or when it hurts to breathe." I say and I knew that would make him even more excited.
"… You want to kill me?" he asks and I think about how much pain Sonic went through to keep all of us safe.
"Yes. And when I come back that's exactly what I am going to do." I say so I push him off me once again and I turn around.
"So, take me to the surface." I say and Cass stays slient and then he grabs my wrists and we start moving again.
He takes me out of the room and as we walk through many halls and rooms. I still watch the area closely to see where this test would be taken. Nothing looked out of the ordinary or extraterrestrial as we walked out and I look back at the building to see that it was even underground as we walk up steps. The place Sonic was under the sea floor.
We walk through an ice tunnel and we go to a familiar platform that Sonic was on and Cass closed the tunnel so no water would get in. We float up and Cass stays as quiet as he ever has been, and we come up to the surface. He takes my hand cuffs and my chi roams around my body.
"Can't wait to see you when you come back." Cass says and I turn around to look at his dark face as I walk away.
"Likewise."
I turn my back on him and I listen to him sink away back under the ocean.
I walk down the ice path and but my walk was a quick one. I worried one since I had to find my friends, explain what is happening, and then create a plan to save Sonic.
"Hello!" I yell on the beach and I hear no one.
I start running towards the palace since it had been so long that maybe they went back and I yell again to see if anyone could hear me.
"HELLO! GUYS!"
No one answers and I charge up the palace to see that the mist was way thicker than last time.
"The mist is thick. So the news must have gotten back."
I walk through it and I run up the entrance to see no one in town so I yell out again.
"Hello?" I yell and no responds back again so I charge to the building where Tikal lived and I try to open the door. The door wouldn't open and I climb the building to look through the window.
"No one-"
"I'm fine!" yells a voice from the town and I hop down to go near it.
"Axel, you aren't! Let us heal you so we can go look for Amelia properly." Cream says and I walk out to see Axel in banadges and limping.
"We don't have time!" Axel says and Cream still runs after him.
"Hey!" I yell and they stop and look at me.
Axel's arm was bandaged up and he looked relived and ran towards me.
"Amelia!" he says and hugs me. " Are you okay?"
"Y-yes I'm fine. Your arm." I say and I touch and he winces."You need to get healed. We… we have to go save Sonic." I say and he looks at me shock.
"Where is everyone. Our group." I ask and Axel doesn't respond so I look at Cream.
"Cream, where is everyone."
"The escape room, underground. Healing and resting." She says.
"Healing? Is everyone okay?" I ask and she nods.
"Yes, but everyone is wounded, Rouge is healing too so if you could come help then we can go find Sonic again." Cream says.
"Okay. Bring me to them." I say urgently and Cream starts walking and I follow her.
Axel comes with too quietly until he jogs up to my side.
"…Where is he?' Axel asks and that question makes me walk even faster.
"Held hostage… but I'll explain everything once we get to everyone." I say and Axel stays quietly once we head in the forest and Cream opens a hidden door in the bushes that leads to the underground.
Cream practically runs down the steps and we do too and we walk down a hallway and then pass a big room with the citizens of the town in it. Everyone looked fine and unharmed as they sat in the room and talked. We walk past it carefully not to startle the new people who came to their town and then we walk all the way to the back of the hallway.
We neared a door and Cream opened and I saw the rest of friends sitting in silence with bandages on. The room was small with the walls being grey and the floor was green. A part of the floor had a dip in it and I notice a bathroom was also in the room.
"Everyone who is injured walk into the sunken part of the floor." I say loudly and everyone jerks up and watches me walk to the bathroom
"Princess?..." Knuckles says and he looks back at the door and stands up. "Where is Sonic-"
"I'll explain later! Just do as I say, please."
I walk in the bathroom and I turn the water on. Warm water comes out and then I walk out and I bend the water into the sunken area that had a table in it but Cream pulls it out so more of them can fit in there.
I finish and I notice everyone is still looking confused and shocked and I pick up Blaze under her arms and I help her walk into the water since her leg was bandaged.
"Wait… what about Sonic." She says and I have her sit down on the edge to heal her leg.
"I'll explain as soon as everyone gets in." I say and I noticed no one had moved since they looked sad and that makes me angrier." GET IN!"
My choice of tone makes them stand and hurry into the homemade bathtub I created.
"Make sure the water is covering where you need to be healed at. If it's a head injury, then let me know." I say and I notice that Silver had a slight cut on his face so I walk over to him and I sit behind him and I start healing his forehead.
I also dip my feet in the water and I start healing them all with the water. Cream joins me as well and heals everyone.
I look over everyone and they look sad and worried as we sit in silence. I look away from them and at the bright green glow coming from the water.
"Silver, told us of how he was beaten and held hostage on the ice." Knuckles looking at me while we healed his torso. "And if he didn't come back… if he isn't with you then what does that mean." Knuckles asks and I look at everyone.
Tikal enter the room before I can talk and she smiles at me and watches the healing bath party happen before her eyes but she continues to look around for someone that was missing.
"The prince?" she asks.
"He is still being held hostage." I say and everyone sighs and looks worried.
"Fuck!" Blaze says and she stares at her leg.
"It's all my fault." Knuckles says and balls his fist up while looking at his bandages. "I told him to leave. He is like that because of me and now he is being held captive by some strong ass people because I made him leave."
"We all did, Knuckles." Rouge says moving closer to him but Knuckles suddenly stays quiet.
"We all pushed him away." Rouge says sadly, probably thinking about how beat up he looked.
" But, we are going to go back for him! "Blaze asks and looks at me. "Right? We can't just leave him!"
"Even if we want to get him back look at what those weapon wielders did to us." Shadow says and winces a bit in pain since he was being healed. "By themselves they took us all down. Me and that crazy blonde chick was fighting for so long and she kept on getting the advantage over me. I probably touched her once and she got a couple of good hits on me but-"
"You want to give up?" Silver asks and for the first time he is just as annoyed.
"I'm not saying that, I'm looking at us-"
"You didn't see, Sonic, Shadow." Silver says leaning up from me healing his head and I scoot closer. "Sonic, is a lot worse than us! He couldn't even open his eye because of how swollen it was. They are torturing him!"
Shadow backs down and Silver leans back and shakes head. "Sonic, was right in front of me and I couldn't even grab him… I couldn't-"
"That fox guy was strong Silver. We all tried to take him on so don't beat yourself up about it." Cream says.
"I'm strong too!" Silver says and then sinks more into the water. "Well, I thought I was because if I were then I should be able to save one friend."
The room goes silent and Tikal sits down and looks at us.
"Can you tell us how Sonic is doing?" Tails asks and Tikal looks at him. "I'm not sure if that's possible but… anything would be helpful."
"I'm sure the princess can." Tikal says and everyone remembers that I was hidden for a moment and turns to me.
"Princess, please tell us." Tails says and everyone starts to ask me as well and finish healing Silver's face and I get the water to heal with my entire body like Cream was doing.
"I… I don't know where to start." I say softly.
Seeing everyone talk and act way different than they did made me nervous. I wouldn't want to bring them into to battle to get more wounded than they were, but they all cared about Sonic. I wasn't sure what to say or do at this moment as they all waited for me to explain what was going to happen if we don't go back for Sonic.
"You all look so timid. I am not sure I- "
"Princess, you have to tell them." Tikal says and I look at her. "There is no later time to tell them and the right people to tell is the group before you."
My eyes move from her and I look at everyone waiting for me to speak.
"Okay… just to start off. Sonic, is healed." I say and they don't move or speak because they knew since he wasn't here that more was going on. "You all heard that they were looking for me. They were looking for me to convince Sonic to… to do something he wouldn't do if asked. They threatened my life to get Sonic to promise to follow through with their orders and that's why I returned without him because he wouldn't risk me getting hurt or you guys because the person who is in charge of all of this threated you all as well." I stop speaking for a moment and then I come back.
"The entire group we fought today had been following us since we fought Scourge. I don't know if they are affiliated with them or not but it doesn't matter because now they have Sonic and they are using him to open the spirit world."
"Spirit world?" Blaze questions.
"Yes, I don't know if what she says is true but before we get into that-"
"The spirit world." Shadow says and he stands up and water falls off his body. "How do they know about that?" Shadow asks and looks at Tikal.
"Do you know the spirit world?" I ask and Shadow rubs his forehead sighs.
"Yes. Tikal… Tikal has a sprit that makes her see the future. "Shadow says and Tikal smiles.
"That's correct and if they want to use Sonic to get into the spirit world that means they know he has a sprit." Tikal says and I nod my head.
"Yes, they said he had a evil spirit but it wouldn't matter because as long as they can get in and get their leader "Sally" to get one then that's all they want and then they would set him free but Sonic told me he almost died trying to go in. That's why we have to go and get him back before the test is took." I say.
"Sorry, can you explain this spirit world and about Sonic having a dark spirit." Blaze asks.
"Right. Apparently, from Sonic being passed down from the fire kingdom royalty they said from them being so evil, that Sonic must have the spirit now so if you have a spirit you can open the spirit world."
"What is the spirit world though? I'm confused." Cream asks and Blaze stands up.
"It doesn't matter what it is. If Sonic can't do it then we have to go back and stop them. We can't just sit up here while Sonic is risking his life for ours." Blaze says.
Everyone agrees and then looks at me once more, waiting for any more information.
"As soon as we are done healing, we should go. I'll be ready to go anywhere." Knuckles says.
"Us, too." Rouge says." Asendel has your back to bring back, Sonic. He is our friend too." Rouge says and the fire benders seem to take that into consideration.
"Plus, if we all go together then there is no way we can't save him." Tails says and gets up since he was done healing. "We can make a plan. A better one since they caught us off guard and we weren't expecting them to appear."
"That's right. And Amy went down and saw their headquarters so we can do it." Cream says and then everyone looks at me.
"So, what's the plan?" Axel asks and the room gets quiet.
Tikal turns her head to me and I look at Shadow to see he is still being healed and I look at Silver who was being helaed as well.
"Silver and Shadow." I say and they look at me slowly.
I clench my hand on my lap and I sigh. "I just want apologize for… putting your home in danger. Before I even say a plan I noticed that the mist got way thicker and the location you had to put your people at to keep them safe. Which leads to what I am about to say next." I say and sit up straighter. "You don't have to join us. I know you all care about your people and your home so much so if you want to stay and protect them, then I get it. You both got hurt trying to find Sonic and on top of that there were people fighting recklessly near your home. Hopefully, they didn't see it or who knows how much they had seen, that's why I am saying what I am because I already have done so much to you all and your home so if you don't want to join us then you don't have too."
Everyone looks at the air benders, hoping that they would join us but understanding if they didn't.
"Shadow already got hurt and Silver was unconscious for a moment. If they were to seriously get hurt then how would they be able to protect their land-"
"We are friends, aren't we?" Shadow says unexpectedly and I look at him like I didn't recognized him. "If I let you all go alone then you would probably just get yourselves killed."
"…You would help us save, Sonic? What about your palace?" I ask and Silver stands up and turns around to me with a smile.
"It's our fault too that he left the palace and Sonic is a friend. You guys are too. Plus, if these guys live in the ocean and are doing dangerous activities near our palace then it's our job to protect Lera." Silver says and I start smile.
"Hell yeah!" Knuckles says standing up and smacking Silver on the back making him stumble." If we are all together and have a plan, we can get Sonic back by midnight."
"And beat all of their assess." Blaze says jumping and getting excited.
Everyone starts saying encouraging sayings and stands up out of the water and I stop healing it since everyone seemed back to normal. It almost brings a smile to my face to see so many different people from different places and different stories trying to save someone completely opposite from them as well.
The first true equality I am seeing in my face.
"Princess." Tikal says moving closer to me and I turn to her. "You have nothing to worry about. You have a good team of friends and I'm sure you know that as well. Influence them the best you can to save Sonic and the world."
"Right." I agree with her and then I step out of the water and stand firmly on the floor, getting their attention.
"Everyone. I just want to say before we make the plan to save Sonic is that talking to these people doesn't work. I already tested to see how they would take begging and pleading and they don't care. So that means we have to do more than say. What you do has far greater impact than what you say and we won't have any words for them but force and power." I say and they nod their heads. "We are going to be hitting them hard. They gave us no mercy and they deserve nothing back."
I think about Sonic waiting for us and waterbend the water back to the bathroom and into the tub and I stretch my arms. I exhale calmly and open my eyes as my mind feels on fire.
"Now, I have a plan. I need a big piece of paper and something to write with. We are going to save the prince of the fire kingdom."
