SONIC
The door closes and locks after Cass takes Amy back to the surface. Sally starts to go over the plan, but I was still in shock of what Amy just told me.
"I don't want to make the world better if you aren't there to help me. I can't do it all myself. I'm tired of looking like this strong princess when I'm weak. I… I need you! And you can't just promise to be with me after all of this and then break it when things start to get tough" Her voice runs through my head while I look at the last place she was at and my head turns to the area she was sitting in and where she told me all of that.
"She wants to be with me… I thought she… hated me." My eyes feel warm, and I look at the door. "Why now?... why would she tell me all this now? Is she only saying this, so I won't risk my life… or does she really want to be with me?"
My head throbs from her slamming her head against mine and that reminds me that she was serious with what she was saying.
"…She needs me so I can't give up here. Amy said the others need me too?.. I really thought they hated me. That's good to know… It feels nice." I smile slightly to myself and Sally snaps her fingers in front of my face, and she brings me back to the cell I was in.
"Prince? Are you even listening to me?" she asks, and I stare at her for a moment and then I fake yawn.
"Yeah, I'm just tired."
"I see. Well, Ten and Maria are going to be here in a moment, and we will leave once Cass comes back. " Sally leans closer to my face and pats my head.
"And we are letting the princess go, so don't try to get your hopes up thinking she can come back with all those friends. She won't be able to find you because we are changing locations completely." Sally says and I want to look shocked, but I hold it inside of my head not to give her any idea of Amy and our friends coming to save me.
"They are going to relocate me. Understandable. That's why they took Amy here so carelessly because this area doesn't even matter."
I just nod my head and the door unlocks and open and the Ten walks in and stares at me.
"Why did you heal him?" Ten asks and he walk closer to me.
"He has to be in perfect condition to pass the entry test. If he is tired, hungry, or even sick then that can throw his test trial off." Sally says and that gives me an idea.
Multiple ideas.
I yawn even bigger and blink my eyes heavily and Ten walks over to unhook my cuffs from the bar they were connected to and he helps me to my feet. I lean on the wall but Ten pulls me forward.
"Yo, can I at least lean on the wall. I haven't slept in the past 24 hours." I say tiredly and Ten rolls his eyes and moves the door and opens it.
"Being sleepy is the least of your worries." Ten implies but then Sally stops him.
'No, did you just hear what I said? If he is tired, then he has to get some sleep in." Sally says and I chuckle shrug his hand from my handcuffs.
"Yeah, listen to your leader." I say getting in his face and Ten stares into my eyes. "Follower."
I say to him and Ten doesn't crack a smile or look affected by what I said and then his eyes shift Sally.
"When we get to the new location, you can sleep for three hours or so, then you are taking the test." Sally says and she grabs my wrist, and we move out in the hallway and Ten follows behind.
"Finally, some nice treatment. Also, can you get your unbreakable, giant, follower stop hitting me. I'm Cleary defenseless." I mention and Ten shoves me on queue strolling past me and to Sally who repeats exactly what I said.
"Seems like I have authority. At least some because if something were to happen to me then they can't open the spirit world. I need to react how someone who is about to die would act. I need to stall them."
We paraded through the hallway and walk down a room with rocks on the ground and other gravel. My eyes gazed upon a small hole and I glanced forward for a second and a I grin to myself.
"OW- "My words are cut off from falling in the hole and then landing on the ground. I wince and roll on my back and Sally comes over just how I planned and pushes me up.
"What happened?"
"Ahh- I fell."
"Did you twist it?" Sally moves down and touches my ankle and as soon as she does, I jerk it back painfully and she watched me, and confusion rose on her face.
"Prince if it hurts then let me heal it." Sally suggests and I agree with her.
Sally leans down starts to heal my ankle but the stopped because she sensed that my ankle and ligaments in it was fine and then she touches it.
"Prince your ankle is fine- "
"OW!" I yelp out and Sally freaks out and heals my ankle anyway.
"Fuck, do you guys not fix the floors here? My ankle is burning." I say while closing my right eye in pain as she healed it.
"Sally, he is trying to waste time." Ten says and grabs me under my arm roughly and pulling me to my feet. " Walk."
Ten pushes me forward and I step on my hurt ankle and hit the ground on my chest, since my hands were still behind my back.
"Ten! Stop!" Sally says and turns me over and she frowns and looks back at the wolf. "You made him cut his face!"
I soon feel blood from the cut she was talking about and it runs over my eye and I close it to protect it. Sally places her hand on my face and I laugh in the inside because now Sally was on my side.
But for only little time.
"Ten! You are going to carry him all the way to the secret base! Do you understand? Stop hurting him and follow simple orders!"
Ten looked dumbstruck and he was about to repent against her order, but Sally was obviously the one in charge here.
"DO IT!" she yells and Ten does so.
Ten picks me up carefully this time and I get placed over his shoulder, not an exact comfortable position so I groan.
"After being thrown to the ground, the position isn't that comfortable."
Ten instead carries me bridal style instead and I relax in his arms and chuckle. "Thanks. So much better."
"What's with all the yelling." Maria asks and I see Cass skipping behind her and his eyes are thrilled to see me, and he bolts to us.
"Hey prince!" Cass says and I stare at him. "What? Why are you looked me like that? I peaceful just took the princess to safety and you still look like you want to kill me."
"You did cut his finger off." Maria says and then we start to walk as she leads the way.
"That was so long ago! Prince! Let it go- "
"I won't let anything go until you aren't breathing, and I am the cause of it." I spat back.
"That's a bit harsh. Ugh, you hate me and now I'm starting to think that the princess hates me too. Why does the world hate meeeeeeee?" Cass complains.
"Cass, shut up." Maria says and Cass groans.
I yawn heavily and Ten clenches my arm he was holding, and I grinned and get more comfortable for the long walk through the cave.
Maria stops and she closes the tunnel. She touched the wall and I start to here heavy, loud, sounds of the area we were just in fall apart and she turns around.
"The area has been destroyed. We can continue freely now." Maria says and I swallow and look ahead to the long tunnel provided for us. I could see at the end of it was another wall and then I look back to the closed off location.
"We are heading near their true area… What if she doesn't let me rest. I have to think something to stall them… I can't let this be it."
I start to feel eyes on me, and I look at Cass. Cass closer to me and Ten stops and moves around him.
"Cass, go away."
"I wanted to ask the prince a question. WE have to pass the time somehow, right?" Cass says and then looks back at me.
"Are you and the princess dating? Since we are friends and all, I wouldn't want to still your girlfriend from you."
"No." I reply.
"Oh… That so she really is up for grabs! Maybe she was playing hard to get and she wants me to chase after her!" Cass turns away and envisions him being with Amelia, giving me an idea.
"The princess wouldn't like you nor date you. You are wasting your time." I say and Cass stops walking and I Ten passes him while my words leave hum frozen.
"Plus, as long as I am around, I don't think anyone is going to get as close as I have gotten. And especially you because you are not her type what's so ever- "
"You don't know that." Cass says and I laugh.
"I don't? You don't either obviously since you keep trying to get something that is way out of your league. But hey, try if you want. The first thing she is would try to do if you were to find her again, she would probably kill you." I speak.
"Please hush." Ten orders and I do so since my point was across.
"You are right. I have done some terrible things. Cass agrees and his eyes seem to remember all the filthy actions he has done in his life, but he still smiles afterwards. "But… I won't give up until I have her. Even if she hates me- "
"Psh! You really think you stand a chance?" I try to flip the conversation to stall sometime, and I think was working because he was staring to look infuriated.
"The princess will never like someone like you- "
Cass runs at Ten and grabs my shirt and Ten touches Cass shoulder and shoves him off and then slams him to the wall while Cass grabs my hair.
"YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!" Cass yells and then I wince but I laugh.
"She won't!" I yell.
"CASS! GET OFF!" Ten chants multiple times and even sometimes Cass slams Ten to the wall and my head would hit it as well but I laugh at Cass being so angry.
"MAKE HIM TAKE BACK WHAT HE SAID!" Cass yells at Ten and Ten punches Cass in the face and it doesn't bother him because Cass was holding on to me.
"SHE WILL L- "Cass stops talking and his grip releases from me as he shakes and takes unnatural steps back.
Cass then falls to his knees and groans in pain. Suddenly Cass head slams to the ground and then it gets lifted up and I watch in concern.
"Why is he acting like that?" I ponder until I see Sally waving her hand around. "Blood bending."
Sally face was in rage and she walked over to Cass who was bruised on his face slightly from smashing into the ground and Sally grabs his hair and looks at him in the eye.
"IS ANYONE HERE TAKING THE MISSION SERIOUSLY!?" The was silently with Cass breathing heavy and looking me still but his eyes would move off once Sally would walk in front of his view.
"IF I… EVER!" Sally blood bends Cass down the on to the floor and slides his face along the dry dirt and then she walks over and starts to kick him and beat him. Cass was making sounds of pain while being punished by her.
"IF I EVER SEE YOU DO THAT AGAIN! I'M KILLING YOU! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" Sally asks while grabbing his hair and he nods his head quickly and then she drops and continues to beat on him.
"What the fuck… that's her own team she is beating up."
Sally kicked him once more and then she released the blood bending and started to walk and so did Ten, stepping over Cass and Maria run in front to lead the way. I turn my head behind Ten to see Cass getting up slowly but holding his side and he rubs his head as well. Cass kept his eyes down and followed silently and I turn my head back to the long walk.
Everyone here is not okay. I have never seen a leader beat their own soldiers and then the soldiers still followed them. Nevertheless, I have to continue to use them to stall time."
"I don't see why you just get rid of him." Ten adds in.
"I agree. We all could have done this on our own. Axel is dragging us down."
Sally strolls in silence after the comments about kicking Cass out and that makes me laugh once more.
"I don't think I have ever seen a team want to take each other out. Usually, its everyone versus the enemy but seems like that's not the case here." I say and my voice echoes through the hall and we start to go down the steps, ignoring my statement but I knew I could trigger someone.
"So… seems like Sally might be using you all- "
"Can we knock him out? He said he was tired so let's shut him up for a couple of hours." Ten says.
"I think we should too." Maria says and then Sally turns around and looks at me.
"Fine. As long as he wakes up in a couple of hours." Sally says and they all stop.
"Shit."
Ten places me down on the ground and then he sends his two fingers to my collarbone and I instantly feel dizzy.
"Wha… what did you do?" I ask and the world moves like I am looking at it underwater. I lose balance and fall on my chest and then I feel someone grab my arm and my eyes open up lazily.
"Ever heard of chi blocking?" Ten asks and I shake my head side to side but then as I do that, I create a vortex of dizziness in my head. "I'll take that as a no but say goodbye to your bending ability for a moment and take a small nap.
I then feel fingers on the middle of my spine and my vision goes dark completely.

"Sonic?"

"Sonic, wake up"
My eyes open hesitantly, and I feel soft like feathers touch my ankles. My body felt like I couldn't move and the area I was in felt different but warm. I turn my head to look what was touching my ankles and I see a… orb. Or a globe? It was small but it was touching my ankles that I pulled away from it. The orb seemed to tilt up from me moving away from it and then an eyeball appeared.
A red eyeball that was watching me carefully. I was afraid to move but even when I tried, my arm wouldn't listen to me.
The orb slowly floats over my face, close to touching my nose and I swallow heavily from the red eyeball staring at me.
"Getting hurt while in spirit state can cost you greatly." It says and the sweet voice I heard before was staring to become darker.
"You aren't even using the power of the dark spirts and now you are going to be the fate of what happens to it." It says and then it slowly turns into a rectangle shape.
"What… the- "
The spirit grew five times its size in an instantly and black long tentacles flew from it. My eyes were moving quickly, and my finger barely moves since I was trying to get up, but I couldn't. It kept on growing and growing and soon my leg twitches from me trying to move it and it stops growing.
My chest started rise with its huge arm raising up. I close my eyes from the sounds of a big object moving so quickly.
"You and that mutant girl." The huge rectangle, floaty, one eyed monster says to me. "She will get you killed. Dead. Far beyond the world you walk in."
"Mutant girl?" I think and then the tenacle moves down and to my chest. It didn't look like it, was going to hurt but it was definitely going to touch me. I close my eyes and I feel a light touch making me open my eyes and then I start to feel fingers around my face.
"Sonic…" My mother's voice was so recognizable, and she seemed happy to see me. She pulled me in close and I look for that huge rectangle creature, but I saw no one but my mom.
"You disconnected from us for a moment. When you were stabbed." She says she slowly places me back down and I want to open my mouth and say something, but I couldn't.
"They have you locked from the darkness, but I can bring you back. You just have to agree to something because you only get very few options and chances."
The rectangle comes back behind her and my eyes widen as I look at it and then she brings my face back to hers.
"You have to agree to use the darkness. If you don't then they will take it from you." My mom says and she presses her fingers on my lips and they come open.
"What… what is that?" I say and she smiles and pats my head.
"Vaatu, he is the oldest spirit of darkness and chaos. He was locked up for some time when you took that blade to the chest but now since you are awakened, he is back. You are the reason why we all still exist, Sonic. This…" she moves her hand backwards and a huge blue sky and with aqua clouds and a huge tree that had a huge hole in it. My eyes move to the side and I see that I was laying on the ground and the more I looked the more this strange world was starting to develop.
The clouds almost looked drawn how it was swirled in the sky and there was also a forest from the far. Beyond the forest was a huge light beam shinning from the top and to the ground and then I see two dark figures running across the land.
The wild beasts attack each other, tearing each other limb to limb. One gets thrown over my body and lands on the ground hard and then the other beast chases it, and they dash into the forest.
I slowly turn back to my mother who had a dark glow around her.
"This… is here because of me?"
"Yes, and now… we have to return it back to you so you can keep this world alive." My mom says and then she moves around me and leans my head up and I watch her touch me.
"R-Return what- "
The block spirit floats and turns skinner and then transforms into a huge noodle like figure and then it heads to my face and tries to go inside my mouth. My body finally moves and cover my mouth and turns over but then my mom turns me back to it.
"Sonic, relax"
"I DON'T WANT IT! Mom… I don't- "
"Sonic, we just want to help. You have to have some connection- "
"No. I don't need it. Wake me up!" I say and then my body goes limp once again.
"Relax, my son. It's all on you to save the darkness- "
"That thing is the reason why I black out?" I ask as I watch it stare at me and then it goes back to its rectangle shape and the entire room goes black and my head drops back to the floor. Its tentacles climb up my face and I keep my mouth closed since that's all I could do.
"Prince Sonic. You were born to be next wielder of the dark spirit world. Take it back and accept you gift." It says and its tentacles touch my nose and then one of its tentacles slips into my nostril.
"Argh- "I squeeze my eyes shut from the coolness soaring my body. The spirit goes through my nose and I feel spill to other spots of my body.
The last part of the tentacle comes through my nose and I start hyperinflating and my veins my body feels cold. The sharp pain I usually feels pounds my chest and I start to cough.
"Ahh… Ahh…What's happening to me…" I think and my heart pumps hard once and I my body raises up. I lay back down and my mouth gapes open and then my chest pounds again.
"Stop resisting!" he yells and the sharp pain hits me tenfold and I wince in pain and tears leak from my eyes. It felt like I was being electrocuted from inside out.
The pain stops and I blink heavily and close my eyes since the pain stopped.
"We are one again. And we won't let anyone stop us."
I jerk my eyes open, and I turn my head quickly. I look around my location. I was in a bed and my eyes still felt so heavy while I tried to figure out where I was.
"I'm in a bed?" I say softly and I cough and turn my head and I feel a soreness from my spine and neck.
I close my eyes and I almost fall asleep until I hear a door open in the room and my vison gets blurry while the person walks closer to me.
"You awake?" the voice says, and I blink my eyes and they don't open after that because of the lack of energy.
"Let's get you up." A finger touches my shoulder, and my heat slowly comes back, and my vision follows and fixates on Ten. "It's going to take a moment for you to be able to move and have energy. I'll be back."
Ten leaves me and my head floats and I close my eyes and breathe extremely slow. I fall asleep and soon I feel a shaking to my arm, making my eyes open wide.
"Good morning! You fell asleep again." Cass says and he was smiling a lot more than he was when he had gotten punished but seems like he completely forgot about that.
"Let's get you up." Cass reaches for me and I get up on the bed and scoot to the corner of it.
"Don't put your hands on me." I warn him and Cass laughs and throws the covers on the floor that I was under and he grabs my ankle.
"Cooperate- "
I send my foot across Cass's face and he stumbles and falls to the floor. He lands on his knee and then I grab the pillow and leap to his head. I slam on it on him and wrap my thighs hard around his torso as he tried to get me off of him. Cass kicks the bed, and it creates a loud noise while it tipped over and then he grips me back and rises. Cass throws me to the wall and my back hits the mirror I saw, cutting it and I let go of the pillow since he was still moving so powerfully.
Cass was smiling psychotically, and he gripped my neck and slammed my head to the back of the mirror. I kick him in his knee, and he slams me harder to the wall.
"I'm in charge here." He says and I chuckled while grabbing his hands and gripping them.
"You might be for now but anything you do to me won't change the fact that the princess will never accept you." I whispered and the once I blink my eyes go dark and the grip, I had on his hand loosens.
"He is anxious. Nothing more than a microscopic bug. Crush him, Sonic."
My strength increases and I return back to the cell before Cass could slam me against the wall again and I pry his hands off my neck headbutt him. Cass winces and stumbles his own feet and I grab him by his hair and slam his head into the iron door.
"TAKE THAT BACK!" He grabs my arms, and we wrestle while standing, breaking anything sight. Cass anger made me grin because he was so easily provoked.
We make it back near the broken glass and Cass grabs it quickly making my eyes widen as he aims it towards my eyes, and I grab his wrist while his forearm was crushing my neck.
"SHE WILL LOVE ME!" he says and slams me again and I cough out from the pressure on my throat.
The door opens and I knew it was one of his friends, but I don't make it known until I see Ten hands throw him off of me. Cass freaks out and swings his glass across Ten face and Ten took steps back after being sliced and he touches his face. Blood leaks down it and Cass stares at him and then Sally walked in.
Sally looks around at the damage, but her eyes go to mine first and I remember my plan.
"Waste time."
I cough harshly and hit then ground while holding my side. I groan out in pain and Sally gasps and walks to me.
"Are you alright?!" she says and tries to see if I was harmed and as she touched my neck that was being held down, I wince and cough even more.
"Prince- "
I cough louder and Sally turns around nippily. "Cass. What did I warn you?"
"He… he was mean to ME FIRST- "
Ten pushes two fingers in his neck and Cass falls to the ground and his eyes widen in fear. Intense panic and he starts to back up on the floor, scooting far back out into the hallway while Sally approached him.
"I won't do it again… I promise- "
Sally punches right across the face and Cass hits the ground with blood soaring out of his mouth. Cass winces again while she kicked him hard in the stomach and kept on going. I watch the scene and Cass continues to scream out in pain from being beaten and then Ten joins Sally. Ten found a piece of metal from the bed and starts to hit him aggressively. I swallow from the scene and Sally stood up while Ten grabbed Cass's bleeding face and pounded it once more.
"Prince… I am highly sorry. Does it still hurt?"
I was in shock at first from Cass being beaten from my lies, but I knew it would be worth the cost in the end.
"He beat me before I woke up. My entire body hurts from being hit." I recline and she picks me up. I stand up with her and groan in pain but then I stop as I watched Ten hit him once more while Cass was curled into a ball, trying to shield himself and Ten stormed in the room heatedly.
"That piece of shit cut my face! Sally! We should kill him now! This is the 40th time he has done this!" Ten yells and Sally watched Cass get on his knees and then she sighs and walks over to him.
Cass hears her footsteps and sits up, protecting his chest that had been hit.
"Sally… I'm sorry- "
Sally grabs his hair and bends down to his level. "Go do what I asked. And after you do so I want you to go to your room and never come out until I feel like seeing you again." Sally boasted. "If I see you. Prepare to perish."
"Yes… mam." Cass says and doesn't even look at her as she let go of his hair and started his way to go wherever she needed him to go.
Sally wipes the blood from her hand and then she comes back to me. She touches my face and sighs.
"Your neck is bruised. Let's get you healed." She says and she pulls some water from her pocket and that was contained in a small container and heals my neck. Ten watches closely and I close my eyes from the relief but then I open them once she stops, and she places me on the bed.
"Sorry about that. Are you hungry?" she asks, and I nod my head.
"Yes. Food would be greatly appreciated. I can't remember the last time I had a meal…" my words decreased and I fall weakly on the bed and Sally hands go under my body after and she gasps.
"Hey! Ten! Help!" She yells and Ten pushes me on the bed while I closed my eyes.
"Maybe I should act sick now. Pretending to be sick always helped for the better."
I raise my heat temperature up on my body and start breathing quickly to insinuate I was feeling ill. Sally seemed to notice while she placed her hand on my forehead to check for a fever.
"Um… I not exactly sure how to tell if fire bender as a fever or not." Sally wonders.
"By the looks of him, he might be lacking nutrition. I'll go get it." Ten says and walks out of the room and I am left with Sally.
I open my eyes gently to see watching me and then she water bends water me to my face and "cools" me down.
"Thanks…" I say weakly and she smiles and nods her head.
"I should be thanking you for finally accepting to a small favor for me." Sally remarks and I grinned softly.
"You aren't exactly giving me a choice."
"I did. You either do it or… I would have tortured the princess and I think you chose correctly. She is so dazzily, probably wouldn't last that long." Sally stated and that tickled me.
"The princess isn't as fragile as you think. I wouldn't underestimate her if I was you."
Sally stops and her sudden halt makes me open my eyes and she lean down to my face. Thrilled, ran through her face and she sat on the bed and tilted her head.
"Oh? And why not?" she asked and studied my face. "Is there something I should expect?"
"I've talked to much."
"Not sure. But I can tell you not to underestimate her- "
"You are saying that like I might see her again, Prince? I'm sure you would have never said that if I was."
"You do realize if I die trying to open the spirit world then possibly two kingdoms will be after you." I boasted and Sally pretends to be terrified and laughs.
"Oh no! Fire benders and tiny Asendel trying to attack me! After I get this power… it will be the other way around, Prince." She says and then she ends the conversation by arising from my bed and standing.
"And even so if I kill you, I might be a hero in their eyes! Have you thought of that? At first you were saying that they wouldn't care for and you had no one but now… seems like something has changed that around." Sally says and watches and waits for me to speak.
"What did the princess say to make you think like this? I'm curious now."
"I've really talked to much now."
Ten comes back in with a tray and something steaming on them. Sally cheerfully stood up and patted Ten arm. "Make sure he eats all of it. I also think his sickness went away while we were talking so Sonic, I expect to see a clean plate." Sally replied and she leaves the room and Ten places it on my bed.
"Eat." He says and he picks up a chair and sits down.
"Do you have to watch me eat? If you wanted to go on a date with me then ask." I say and Ten doesn't respond and observes me.
"Why is he watching me… They didn't watch me when I slept so- "
"Eat." He repeats and I pick up my spoon and I start to do so.
After eating, Ten grabs the tray and takes it out of the room and locks the door behind him.
I get up slowly and step over the glass and I look through the small window. All I could see was a wall and the hallway they were walking back and forth on. I grab the handle trying to open it, but it was locked.
"Maybe I can run out of here… They didn't cuff me so I could easily take something to blind them and escape."
The glass on the ground shimmered and I pick it up carefully and stare at the sharp end.
"I blind one of them and make a run for it… but what happens next? Maria is an earth bender and could find me easily. I don't know where I am, and I am sure they have this place figured out. Sally and her blood bending does no good against me. I'd need a water bender to even equal myself with her."
I place the glass back down and sit back on the bed.
"…Or if I give up. Then no one has to get hurt." I started to feel unpleasant, that my friends were risking their lives to save me. I have never shed any goodness on the world and for them to risk their lives to get me…frightened me.
I scoot back more in the bed and I smile.
"Amy still wants to be with me. Not even Amy but everyone. Maybe I can risk my life and have this last feeling of people caring about me- "
"SONIC!" Vaatu yells loudly and then entire room goes dark. "WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?! IF YOU RISK YOUR LIFE THEN THE DARK REALM WILL CEASE TO EXIST!"
"That doesn't sound bad either. Seems like it was true when all I carry is darkness around me- "
"Prince, get up and fight!" Vaatu says and he appears in front of me, and I start to get pissed.
"Why should I?"
Vaatu waited to speak, and he turned around raised his tentacle up. Soon a faint image of Amy pops up from the last time I saw her in the cell. She was crying and yelling at me which caused me to look around her face.
"You have to live for that cursed human. You want to be with her right?" Vaatu asks and the memory of her fades into the darkness.
"I think so."
"Then use the dark power within you. You can't stop here. I will give you ask much as you need to get out of this cell you are in and then you can save the dark realm and your minions again." Vaatu says.
"I'll try" The darkness vanished, and I am back in the cell.
"Okay… instead of me fighting them. I'll continue to follow Amy's plan. Hold off time for them all to get here."
I lay down under the bed and cover myself with a blanket and I close my eyes to pretend that I am asleep.
…
The door slams open, scaring me from my sleep, I wasn't trying to take, and I see Ten and Sally waiting at the entrance. Ten grabs me by the arm and pushes me forward near the exit and Sally waves her arm and smiles.
"What's with the roughness?" I question and I noticed that Sally had on different clothes.
"Spirit world time!" she says and Ten grabs my hands from behind and places handcuffs on them.
"But, im still exhausted, you have to-"
"Your friends are here." Ten says and I turn around to see his face if he was bluffing.
"Really?" I ask and Sally takes the lead and Ten pushes me, making me follow her.
"Yep. So, now you have to open up the spirit world quicker than usual. I hope you have the energy for it." Sally warns and I start to feel anxious from how fast we were walking.
"They are here… Amy… she really is here to save me." We enter a hallway passing a plant and we were moving hurriedly. I push back on Ten, knocking the plant over and Ten secures his grip on my arms and follows Sally who was observing my behavior.
"You think she can save you? Because she found the base? We are under the sea floor, there are over a hundred tunnels and pathways so she can't possibly make it on time."
"Under the ocean?" I ask and I try to stop and realize that I hadn't asked where I was and Ten shoves me forward.
"Yes, now come on." Sally says and before we head down some hallways, she turns to me and walks backwards. "You were right. Maybe I shouldn't have overestimated her. Oh well, it's not like we didn't plan for this to happen."
Sally turns around I soon hear earth and gravel moving above me and I look at the ceiling. It rumbles and pebbles fall on the ground from it, and I swallow heavily.
"Amy… Blaze… Tails… all of them are here to save me… what should I do to waste time… fight Ten? He would probably break my arm or use his chi blocking."
The hall gets darker, and my heart starts racing. Knowing that Amy was here and my friends. I had to see them again. I just had too. I wanted to know if it was true about them needing me. I want to see how we all can be after all of this.
We walk down a dark hallway and they both have two different was to go. To the right was light and to the left was darker. We tread towards the darker one and then we stop at room that was very clean and decorated.
It looked someone had cooked a huge meal and it was for a nice dinner with another person. The room had a clean piano and it smelt clean as well.
"…Cass isn't here." Sally says and sighs angrily and walks past us and I get pulled out of the room and we start to head to the light this time.
"Expected. That dumb ass. When this is all over, what are you going to do?" Ten asks and Sally stares ahead and until we get into the light room, she was about to respond but the steaming food sitting on the brown table nicely next cups that waiting to be filled.
"Hm. Let's head the other way. Quickly." Sally says and she runs over to a wall and pushes it, the wall moves open, revealing a secret passage and I get shoved into it since we were rushing all of the sudden.
"We are moving so fast…I… I have to do something… but what- "I accidentally slide down the slick stone steps and Ten loses his grasp from me as I tumble down. I crush my hands with my back while I fall.
"Ten! Catch him!" Sally yells as I fall faster since I was just rolling on my back and wrists.
The hallway started to become ice steps and I slide down in a spiral. Ten couldn't catch me from how fast I was falling and then an ice wall stops me from falling further.
I plop on my chest and puff in pain from falling and Sally picks me up.
"That hurt." I complain and Sally checks over me.
"Ten, let's not walk that fast down the steps, I can't waste any chi on him getting hurt if he actually opens the spirit world. I need to have all the energy I can get a spirit and come out."
"Yes, sorry." Ten helps me on my feet and I watch Sally melt the ice.
"She is saving her chi. That means she won't fight me if I were to try something. Also, if I were to get to get hurt then she would heal me, so I have the advantage"
As soon as the water melts, I throw my head back, hitting Ten in the face and I kick Sally down the stairs. I turn around and I take my first step but then an ice block slams into my chest. I hit the wall and then ice freezes me to the wall and slides me down it quickly. I close my eyes to the force and the ice releases, and I fall chest first again to the floor.
I turn my head to see that I am on the bottom of the stairs and I groan in pain. I rise to knees and a shadow covers over my body.
"Ten! You are supposed to be holding him! Not me!" Sally orders and Ten rubs his face and runs to me.
"Yes! Sorry!" Ten makes his way to me and I try to stand up faster but Ten grabs my wrists and I start trying to shrug my way from his grip.
"Prince, if you continue to resist. We will lock you right up again and go kill the people you think are going to save you. Cooperate." Ten says and I scoff.
"It's six against three. I am not afraid. But you should be." I say back and then I continue to resist. I wasn't about to go any further because the entire room was ice and rock, and I wasn't sure where we were going and how close we were getting to this 'spirit world'
"Afraid of what? That weak princess? I have nothing to worry about. But you… you are going to walk, or I'll just bring her head to you and give you all the inspiration to keep you walking." Ten says and then shoves me and I fall on the ground again.
"Think about it. They know nothing of this place. I do. All I would have to do is walk around with this sword and slice that head off while she isn't looking and then that glimmer of hope in your eyes will be filled with darkness." He threatens and I turn to him and he grabs both of my ankles and starts to walk down a hall with Sally leading.
"Let go!" I yell and I pull my leg back and he continues to walk.
"I can let go. But if I do, I'm going to go kill her." Ten says and he wasn't joking.
"He is right. I don't even know where I am and if I can get away from them- "
"That's a great idea actually." Sally stops walking and looks into my eyes.
"I warned her not to interfere... but I am sure if I kill her then that will stop you from resisting." Sally says and she reaches out to touch my hair, but I scoot back, getting away from her touch.
"Oh…" Sally looked disappointed from me moving away from her but then she smiles, and that smile was something I knew I should avoid seeing.
"He is done listening." She says and if her eyes could turn red with evil then I sure they would right now.
"Ten. Bring us both of the princess's head."
"…what- "
"Certainly." Ten let's go of my legs and walks off immediately. I turn around and he pulls the big blade from his back and the shine of the sharp blade makes me look at Sally.
"Wait- "
"Wait?" Sally questions and looks confused. "I told you Sonic that if you start resisting then I will kill the princess. You realize that anything coming out my mouth isn't a joke. I'm not joking with you." She says and I lean up.
"She isn't kidding… Ten is going to sneak up on her and kill Amy. I'd be the cause of her dying- "
"Okay!" I say and I stand up myself and Sally watches me arise.
"You are right… I forgot. I'll do it. Just show me the way." I say and Sally looks at me scoffs.
"You made up your mind. You aren't doing the test. So, I'll kill the princess and then you won't have fight left in you after that- "
"I said I'll do it!" I yell and Sally still doesn't move. "Tell Ten to come back!"
"No." Sally says, and she sits on the ground and waits for Ten to come back.
"Sally!" She ignores me this time and I look down to the hall to see Ten disappearing and I fall to my knees and then her eyes look at me. I press my head to the icy floor and close my eyes tightly.
"I'll do it. I promise. I won't resist. I'll even walk on my own to wherever we have to go. I can do it." I bow to her and the silence from her makes me worry.
"How will I know you won't betray me?" Sally says and I raise my head up fast.
"I've never bowed to someone in my life until now. I'd never do that, but since I know that you are more serious than I thought. I will do it. You have my word." I say and Sally looks over me like she could see any lie in thoughts, but I wasn't lying.
I didn't want anyone. No one else in danger because of me.
Sally reaches out slowly and this time I let her touch my hair and then she smiles.
"Fine." She says and stands back up and I get up with her, keeping my promise.
"Ten! Come back! Our prince wants to behave now!" Sally says smiling at me, and I try to contain the anger of being held captive and then Ten comes back and reaches for my arms but then Sally stops him.
"Oh no! The prince doesn't need an escort! He promised me that he would walk himself to the spirit world entrance! Right, prince?" she asks, and I nod my head and look forward.
"Great!" Let's get a move on." Sally starts to walk and even Ten passes me, leaving me alone.
"They aren't bothered with me leaving. They know I won't leave now."
I gulp and the heat I was repressing to not show that I was angry was fully showing and Sally starts to laugh while we walk down a hallway that was covered in ice and rock.
"Wow, it's so great when your friends act right. I healed Sonic so many times and he even spit in my face too and yet… I haven't done a single bad thing to him. He should be grateful because usually I beat the living shit out of my prisoners and make their lives a living hell when they break my trust so much but Sonic… he is a special friend to me, but he just ran his last chance with me. I won't be so nice next time." Sally says and I stare at the back of her head while we start to walk down more stairs and then enter a bigger hallway.
"He is taken you for granted." Ten applies on and I squeeze my fists and more heat starts to boil within me.
"Maybe you are right…" Sally says, and she stops and swings her leg back and an ice block slams into my side and I fall on the floor.
"That was for stalling time." She says and I growl and then while I get up, she makes the ice slicker and I fall on my knees. I listen to footsteps appear and soon I see feet in front me and I look up.
"SMACK!"
"And that's what I should have done when you spit in my face."
Sally hand went across my face and I faced the wall and stared at it angrily. Furious. If I could, I would hurt this woman in an instant, but I couldn't. I had to calm down the fiery rage, the thirst for blood I wanted from all four of these strangers keeping me down here, the voice in my head telling me to break each and every finger that caused my face to fill warm from the smacking impact.
But I won't. I had to protect her. I needed too.
Sally laughs and heat blasts from me and I slam my head to the wall, trying to calm myself down and Sally laughs even more and continues to walk, and I stand up and follow.
My heart was pounding ferociously, and I close my eyes to calm myself down but when I opened them it was dark.
"Of course." I think while I walked, and I could still see the back of Sally's head.
"What a bitch." My mother says and walks beside me, and I lock my eyes on Sally who looked way too pleased. Whenever you get the chance. Don't hesitate- "
"What do you think I am going to do?" I say to my mom and scowl. "I can't do much. If I attack her or them then that wolf is going to kill the princess- "
"LET HIM DO IT!" Vaatu says.
"The princess is the ONLY reason why you haven't fought them! She is always the reason of something with you fire benders! Have you learned nothing from her being the reason why your mother is gone!"
I don't respond because I had no care about Vaatu or my mother.
All I wanted was to ensure the safety of Amy.
The darkness floats away and the walking time became longer. We had been walking for so long and it was getting chilly every step. Sally and Ten stopped talking but Sally smile never dropped, and she would look over her shoulder to me to make sure I was still following. I started to remember the walk from the first time I was here and then we get to a huge door. The ceiling vibrated and Sally stops and looks up but then she opens the door.
"Let's- "
The ceiling shakes even more and the ground vibrates too. Sally walks in first and I walk next and Ten closes the door behind us.
Like last time there was this huge beam of light that was soaring through the ceiling. The light turned light blue once I entered again and started to spiral. We were also in a huge ice dome room the beam touched the ground lightly, brushing against the ice floor while we approached it. The room was so big, that it would take us about three minutes to get to the light.
"IT's happy to see you. "Sally says while we stand in place and then she grins at me.
"Make sure you give it your all so you can possibly save your friends who are putting themselves in danger." Sally starts to walk again, and my first step wobbled and then the others came naturally.
The beam flashed and wind pushed against us while we approached it. I start to see the small orbs fly past me again and once moves in front of my face, making me stop and Sally notices quickly and frowns at me.
"Sorry." I say and move past he is glowing orb that started at me. It came back and floated in front of my face, moving with me and then it took off towards the ceiling and I watch it go. It went so fast and phased the wall. I closed my eyes as I walk and then I open it and look at the thick beam of light.
"Prince!" Vaatu says and immediately I was back to the darkness and I watch them float in front of me.
"IF you enter the spirit world like this, I won't be able to supply you with chi or support! It might even lock me away if they see who is trying to open it. You can't!"
"Vaatu… I don't have a choice. Amy will- "
"Like I said before you can't save her if you are dead!" Vaatu reminds me but I look away from only for him to fly back in my face.
"You can't do this- "
"Why not!" I yell." Even if I die then you and my evil mother will be put away! You already caused too much!"
"You foolish boy! I have helped you through so much! You know how many times I fazed you out of your conscious so you wouldn't have to remember some of the people you killed!" Vaatu argues and if my hands weren't wrapped behind my back then I would have hit him too.
"Because of you! I'm not listening to shit you say! Fuck off!" I speak.
"Sonic you little- "
"HEY! ORB!" says a voice behind me and stop. The voice sounded so familiar that I start at the darkness and I see an orb… but this one was brighter than the rest I have ever seen.
"HEY!" it says again, and the voice reminded me of someone… but I wasn't sure…"
"That girl- "
"Girl?" I question Vaatu's anger, and he notices that he said something out loud.
"Nothing." Vaatu says and he fades and so does the darkness.
I noticed I stopped and Ten pushes me forward.
"Stop daydreaming." He says and I walk more but then I look back at the ceiling. "And turn your head back. They aren't coming for you any time soon- "
The ground vibrates more intensely, and we all stop and stumble from the shaking. This didn't happen last time and the rumbling continued, and I look around for the reasoning. Ice falls onto the ground slamming into it hard.
"What's happening?" Ten asks and Sally looked confused as well and then a louder vibrating was coming from the far corner of the room and the room falls silent once more and I look around carefully and so does Sally. Ten stops and withdraws his sword confusing me and I stand in place.
Again, the wall vibrated loudly, and it cracks, like something was piercing the outside of the ice dome and then a drill with a rock like machine comes out of it quickly. It slides out and with some type of force keeping it on the wall it starts to drive on the ice dome.
"What on earth..." Sally says, and I watch the machine drive quickly through the wall and then my heart stops once I see blonde hair and blue eyes.
"SONIC!" Tails yells and I freeze.
"T... Tails?" I say out loud softly and he gets back in the machine and continues to drive it on the wall.
"How did they get down here." Sally says and she looked so pissed.
"Not sure. I'll take care of it." Ten says but then the roof of it opens Rouge appears.
"Rouge..."
"GET IN!" She yells and my muscles and legs don't move because I wasn't sure what was going on.
"They came here to save me... "
Rouge ice bends thick blocks from the wall and launches it my way and I stumble out the way not to get hit but I wasn't sure if I should run or stay out.
Rouge creates an ice slope, and I am sure that's me to run on but Ten takes advantage of it and runs on the ice created they was connected to the drilling, mobile machine. Blaze then appears and so does Knuckles, and they shoot big blast of fire, catching Ten off guard and he jumps off the ramp and then hit a sharp turn they speed up even faster. The machine starts to rise up to the top of the dome going extremely fast and then it makes to the other side and drives on the ground.
All I do is watch the machine drive towards me and then Tails head pops out again.
"SONIC! HOP IN!"
Tails orders make me, and Sally look at each other and continue to stand still.
"You live... I'll promise to kill her." Sally says and I stare at her and then the fast machine heading near me and then I look back.
"I'd like to see you try." I say lastly and Sally gives me a huge frown and I feel a hand on my shirt, and I get pulled hard and it gets dark.
My head hits a leg and the object I was in was shaking and making a lot of noise.
"AIRBENDERS FLOOR IT!" Tails yells and I notice that I was in the machine I saw, and Shadow and Silver were here too.
"All of them are here. Just like Amy said they would be."
"ALRIGHT!" they say at the same time and the force of the wind accelerating the machine makes me slide to the back of the machine with everyone else.
"MARIA!"
"O-On it!" The drill starts to move quickly, and the ice wall opens, revealing the rock walling and we drill into it and then it closes behind us. The drill was taking us deep into the earth and soon we spot, and everyone was breathing heavy. Mostly from possibly seeing me. It was dark and felt some reach out and touch my face.
"S-sonic... is that really you..." I hear Tails say and all the fire benders light a flame, and everyone gasps.
"Y-yeah it's me- "
"SONIC!" Knuckles was the first to tackle to the floor and then mostly everyone joined in hugging me. Even Silver.
"OH, MY GOODNESS!" Blaze weeps and I felt her arms rub against.
"wait is he okay?" Cream asks and then Maria earth bends us to an empty tunnel for more light and everyone moves back to see me.
I look at everyone's face and I never thought I would see them again. From the last we left off in the forest until now... I thought they hated me, but they are smiling at me and their eyes were filled with tears. Shadow approaches me first and breaks my handcuffs in half and my heat runs fast and fills the machine. Knuckles notices and covers his face and pulls me into a softer hug and everyone started to tear up too.
"Sonic... I'm so sorry. You are in this mess because me. I- I shouldn't have kicked you out. They said you were beaten and tortured and I thought that was going to be our last conversation in Lera... I'm sorry." Knuckles says sadly and I hug him back.
"It's okay- "
"I apologize as well." Shadow says and he steps up.
"We were all wrong for kicking you out. Sorry."
Everyone looks worried and pained
I am sure they looked at my clothes and saw tears and some bruises, but they didn't know they I was fine. Great actually because it gets like they really cared for me.
"I... I didn't expect you all to come save me." I say in shock and what I said made everyone look even more Guilty and Blaze starts to cry softly.
"We were starting to think it was too late!" Blaze cries and I crawl over to her and bring her in a hug.
"It's all our fault! We knew we could have been more patient with you! I'm just so glad you are okay and that time at the forest wasn't the last!" Blaze wails and now even Shadow wasn't looking at me anymore.
"everyone. It's okay. Thanks for saving me. I'm not even mad about... being kicked out. I understand your reasonings, but I am confused that you all came to get me. I thought I was disliked."
"No, sonic. You are our friend." Rouge says and everyone agrees with her.
"Really? I ask and they're ensure me by rubbing my hair and hugging me a lot and I crack a smile from Cream hugging me tightly.
"Friends. Me. Having friends."
"We are glad you are okay. Looks like we came right on time." Silver says and I was about to agree with him until I noticed that everyone head light blue arrows on their foreheads.
"What's with the paint?" I ask randomly and they seemed to forget that was even on their faces.
"It's air bending symbol. Expressing the warrior inside the airbenders." Blaze says and Silver thanks her for that.
"I see…" I look at Maria and wondered why she was helping us.
"She was just helping Sally…. What happened to her. She is also very beat up and- "
Maria stands up quickly, scaring everyone and they all stand because they thought she was going to try something, and she turns around quickly.
"The… the princess is in trouble and your other friend." She says and I stare at her in shock.
"Trouble…" I say and Tails leaps up.
"Where are they!" he asks but then Blaze grabs his shoulder and points at Maria.
Everyone starts freaking out and I look around carefully and forgot that the entire reason how I was saved is because Amy told them.
"Wait… she isn't here. Where is she?"
I searched for any color of pink hair and, but I saw none and Blaze shoves past me and storms up to Maria
"Wait! Just a second ago, you were so afraid to see your stupid leader after told you multiple times to "drive!" "drill!" But now you want to really try and help us?" Blaze questions angrily and Silver steps in.
"Even if she is lying, we can't waste any time. If the princess and Axel really are in trouble, then we don't want to second guess our chances. "Silver says and Blaze scoffs and glares at Maria.
"What can you see?" Rouge asks and everyone walks closer to hear her response, but once Maria even focused for a moment she jumped in fear and faced a random direction towards the wall inside the machine.
"We…We have to…." Maria looked worried, like she was sensing other things happening and I stand up and turn her around.
"What? Where are they? Show us the direction." I say and Maria nods her head and then runs to the front and instantly starts the drill, everyone takes their seats and I rush to the front with Tails, and he notices that was standing.
"Sonic, you may want to sit down." Tails suggests and I kneel on the floor and hold to the Tails seat.
"I'm fine. Let's go." I say and Silver and Shadow supply the machine with accelerating and we start drilling through the tunnels again. We go fast but this wasn't quick enough. Everyone second that passes puts Amy and Axel more at risk and I had to get to them. We had too.
"PUT IN EVERYONE YOU HAVE TO GO EVEN FASTER!"
I yell at them and Maria sweat beads down her face and Silver squints his eyes as he uses more air and Shadow copies him.
We start to zoom, and the machine shakes roughly while we plow through earth and Maria head picks up and I stand and wobble.
"Uhm- "
"What?!" I ask and she freaks out and continues to go but her drilling wasn't as fast from before.
"We are close but I'm afraid we won't make it in time. I think one of them got stabbed I'm not sure- "
"That's fine. Keep going!" I yell and Maria focuses again and then we drill even faster.
"Stabbed. I have to be ready for anything."
My leg shakes in anticipation and we start blasting through some thick rock and then it felt something was pulling me forward. My head started to feel lighter and once I blinked it's like I could see her. The princess. She was nearby and I could feel that.
"Argh! This rock is tougher than expected!" Maria grunts and I look around for the latch Tails was peaking from and then I felt that energy pull again.
"Why am I able to sense her. I know it's her. She is so close."
"Ah! It's Cass! He has lightning!" Maria says and that startles us, and I push the latch off, and Maria kicks it into overdrive and so does the airbenders.
"HOW CLOSE ARE WE?"
"SIX SECONDS!" Maria yells and I count to myself as I start to see a small stream of light. It rubs against my face and I could see her. Standing in fear of Cass. Axel was there too but on the ground. The first flash of light I saw caused me to stop thinking. I jump out the front and I shield my face and blast through the rock.
"BOOM"
I fly through the wall and see Cass pointing at the princess and rage floats in me. The area already turned dark, and I grasp his hand that was cracking with lightning and stand in front of him. Cass eyes shook in fear but then he started to smile while I gripped his hand. The lightning went away, and I bent his wrist back making him drop that disgusting smirk and he had but he still seemed so happy to see me.
"Destroy him, Sonic." Vaatu says to me and I move my leg behind me, and a big blast of fire comes from the bottom of it and swing it right at Cass, connecting to his side and he flies to the wall.
My eyes were locked on Cass while I marched over to him. I could see nothing else nor hear but Cass breathing heavily in pain, while he laid on his side away from me. I stand next to him and Cass notices my shadow and turns slowly to see me. I stomp my foot into his face and blood splashes on the ground.
I kneel down and move him back so I could see his smiling face and I send a very long needed punch right into his jaw. I kept going. Every punch made me even angrier, and I felt power source through my body like I could do this for months.
A tooth flies out his mouth and the face I was punching started to make a different noise from all the blood and the bruising I was creating.
"Die. Die. Die. Die" I think as I punch him so hard that he seems to lose consciousness and I continued to pummel his face.
"That's it! Use this power you were supposed to use all this time!" Vaatu yells in satisfaction and I was feeling to because this son of a bitch tried to hurt all my friends and he also tortured me multiple times. I wasn't going to waste this opportunity.
My punches come slower but harder and I grab his shirt and lift him from the ground and his head flops back and I see his red eye move and grind my teeth and hit him even worse.
"He will regret ever toying with me! I'll knock out every tooth that I have too to make him even come close to what I had been through down here! I was am in control. My body is full of rage and I need to let him feel every bit of that!" I hit him again and bring my arm back.
"He hurt all my friends and is still putting them in danger… I can't let him do that ever again!" I punch him once more and Cass actually grunts in pain and I bring my arm back again.
"I… I'll kill him- "
My face starts to feel warm and then I look up and see light. A soft light that touched my face causes me to stop and stare at it. The presences were the same stream of light I saw before. And even when I was nearing the spirit world. It was touching me, and I watch it carefully as another hand touched my face.
"Hey… it's okay." The darkness floats away and pink hair is revealed to me and I look over her face quickly.
A tear falls off her lips as she smiles at me and then she looks back and touches my hand and I look at her ungrasping the tight grip I had around Cass and then I follow her hand back up to my face and she brings my eyes to hers.
"It's okay, Sonic." Amy says as she looks around my face and I just couldn't take my eyes from her. Her tear falls from her face and she slowly wraps her arms around me. Her soft hair touched my nose and I feel her chest taking quick gasp of air from crying and she started to rub my back.
"You are okay…" Amy says softly, and she hugs me tighter. "I'm so glad… you look completely fine. I thought we were too late, and I wasn't going to see you again. But you are safe."
Amy leans back and this time I look around her face and I notice some blood had been running down the side of her face and she had a bad cut on her ear, but she seemed fine too.
"She saved me…"
"Thanks for keeping your promise." Amy says and I slowly nod my head but then this time, I bring her back into my chest. Realizing everything.
What is this way I was feeling? I felt freedom from disturbance and stress for the first time in years once, Amy and the others came to save me, and this feeling of protection was the first time I had ever felt it. I was glad that I stuck through the plan with dragging down time. I was elated to see my friends afterwards and all their sacrifices to save me and now… Amy… the girl I still have feelings for deeply, just kissed me on my cheek after I hugged her again and reassured me that everything was going to be okay.
