SONIC
Heavy breathing echoed in my ear, and I blink my eyes open. My body ached and I move my arms, but they were stiff behind me.
"Arghh!" said the voice beside me and I turn my head.
"Silver?" I spoke and he turned his head painfully. I saw that his arms were bruised, and I remembered the condition he was in.
"Silver!" I tried to break out of my handcuffs to help him, but it was no use. "S-Silver, are you okay?"
"No!" he says, and I look around and see that the others were beside me but not speaking. I was beside Blaze and Knuckles and Rouge were on the other end. Tails was in front of me knocked out and so was Cream, Amy and Maria.
"Fuck!" I said and I noticed that we were outside. Hundreds of citizens were around us. Watching us and we were on a wooden stage.
Soon the crowd died down from their cheers and I turn my head to see… my dad. My dad was sitting on a throne and Cheyenne and Jet was by his side with a sword in his hand.
A guard came up and started to throw water on the others who weren't awake and soon they were waking up. I watched as they blinked their eyes and looked at their situation. Shocked, scared, and angry. Is all that I saw, and once eyes were pointed to Silver, that's when they started talking.
"Silver!"
"Holy Chaos! Silver!" Blaze yelled and jumped forward and I turned to see that they had beaten Silver more than we saw before.
"Where are we?!" Cream tried to move out and Knuckles shrugged hard at this chain and Amelia growled frustratingly.
"Sonic! Why didn't you wait!" She yelled and I shrunk.
"I don't know."
"T-This isn't the time to argue-" Silver coughed out blood and I stared at him with fear.
"Silver, where does it hurt?" Cream wandered and he leaned up gently and we could see a gash wound.
He was stabbed.
My eyes shook and I yanked my chains so hard that it scratched my wrists.
"Silver, breathe and sit straighter!" Amelia barked and he tried but he was in too much pain.
"Ahh!" Silver winced.
"Quiet." The kings voice boomed over us all and I started at my dad.
"You all. Terrorist from the water kingdom. Traders from the fire kingdom. Tried to attack us with this storm." The king said and then looked around at us. "Disgusting."
"That isn't true!" I yelled and they looked at me. "Just… Just let them go! I wanted to help you all because I thought you was being attacked by it! This isn't out doing!"
"Then why did it stop once the air bender was wounded?" The king asked and I watch Silver breathe heavily.
"I don't know. He isn't the one doing this!"
"Then who! You expect us to believe this from a Traitor like you!" the king stood up and then pointed at me.
"My own son! A phony!" He yelled and then Cheyenne grabbed the sword and started to walk closer. "We will harm every person until whoever is causing this vortex, stops it."
Cheyenne walks to us and my heart drops.
"No! Cheyenne! Listen to me!" I yelled and he stepped on the platform we were on.
"Who wants to go first?" Cheyenne asked, ignoring me and I flung out into him.
"Cheyenne, this isn't us. Listen to me!" I begged and he walked over to Cream who was looking him in the eye.
"Is it you-"
"NO!" Tails jumped out towards them. " GET AWAY FROM HER!"
"It must be-"
"CHEYENNE!" I yelled and he finally stopped. " YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ME! FOR ONCE! LISTEN TO ME-"
"Why should I?!" I looked at me painfully and bent down to my face, snatching my collar towards his. "You have betrayed us for the last time! We all have nothing to say to you! Nothing! "
"Betrayed?... I was trying to help-"
"No, you listen to me, Sonic!" Cheyenne cut me off and my face was starting warm up. " You bring in the Water Kingdom princess behind our backs and expected us to trust you afterwards? You know that her blood is the reason that your mom died?" His voiced echoed and I close my eyes in anger. "How did you expect anyone to be on your side-"
"I expected you to be! I expected you, to not try to kill me for wanting to break the ways of the fire kingdom. And my mother died for her own reasons! They were protecting their kingdom!" I yelled. "Cheyenne you really know nothing on wants to go on behind these walls… that's why I couldn't let you into mine!" I said and Cheyenne starred at my face after that, and I started to look at everyone listening.
"You all just don't know…We came to help! You… hurting everyone isn't going to make this go away! You know that! You have too! "
"How can I?!" My dad yelled and then he stood up.
"Because why would we just come back!" I yelled and that stopped them from moving. "I… I wouldn't come back if I didn't care! That vortex is about to destroy the kingdom but here you think killing more people will save you! IT won't ! It never HAS!"
I scream and then I breathe heavily.
"Trust me-"
The vortex growls loudly, turning all the attention to it. The sky turned a dark grey and it chased away most of the light that was left. The sky thundered and soon then the vortex shot out red. The red was bright and shook the ground as it touched the ground, it shook and then everyone started to run out of the area.
"Head to the castle!" Cheyenne yelled and my eyes couldn't move away from the red coming from the sky.
My eyes moved to Cheyenne's, and he took small steps away.
"Cheyenne… please." I breathed out and he turned off and ran.
"Cheyenne please don't leave us here!" I yelled and then he stopped again.
The fear in his eyes reminded me of how close were when I was smaller, and he couldn't decide if he wanted to help me or not.
"Please, Cheyenne. I need you."
An explosion occurred on the ground and then I felt arms release and then I fell forward. I look and see Cheyenne cutting us all free and I rushed to Silver.
"Silver! Are you alright?" I asked and then Cream ran to him and turned him over.
"It's not too deep." Cream started healing him and then the red tinted world made me look back at Cheyenne was flying off.
"Cheyenne wait!" I watched Cheyenne fly off and I looked around as citizens scattered.
The wind was intense, and I remember that Silver was hurt but it was getting hard to see with the red falling out the sky.
My eyes went to the sky and then I saw my group gathering to help Silver up because it was getting worse outside.
"We have to go inside!"
I yelled and Amelia frowned at me.
"Sonic. This really isn't the time for a family reunion again! Look what they did to Silver!"
I bend down to Silver who was wincing in pain, and I touched the sides of his face. "Silver, I'm sorry. But we have to find cover so we can get you safe.
"I'd rather die than go in there!" Tails stated while the ground started to rumble.
"I agree!" Maria screamed in my ear.
"Let's head toward the school! It's the closest we got!" Knuckles grabbed Silver carefully and took the lead.
The sky growled and we took off towards shelter. The wind was humid and warm. The sky was a deep red and we flew past debris and rocks.
It felt as if the world was ending. Knuckles swoops in the side of the building and we did as well, and we followed him to the memorized basement in the school.
"Set him here!"
They laid him out on a table and Rouge and Amy joined Cream.
Silver was moaning in agony, and I rubbed my face stressfully as I watched them heal him.
"Silver! Keep your eyes open." Amy yelled and that made me walk closer.
"T-Trying." Silver gasped out and I moved in and held his head.
"Just try to breathe with me." I came in and I heard Amelia smack her tongue but ignore it.
Silver and I start breathing sync while he got healed and then the ground rumbles louder.
"I told you. I told all of you that the fire nation hasn't changed!" Tails yelled and we didn't move our heads, but we were listening.
"They hurt Silver… and he was only trying to help them." Tails added and he knocked some books over. "So now what Sonic? Is this how we all die because you wanted to help people who don't give a shit about you!"
I stayed quiet and breathed with Silver who opened his eyes when he heard that.
"SO NOW WHAT SONIC!"
The rumbling stopped and we all looked towards the window. The sky slowly went back to dark grey.
"It stopped." Blaze said and I looked at the window and back to Silver who was breathing on his own and calmer.
"We stopped the bleeding, and his arms are almost better." Cream said and I sighed thankfully and then let him go.
Suddenly I get yanked forward and slammed to the wall.
"TAILS!" knuckles yelled, and Tails gripped my shirt harder.
"This is all YOUR fault!"
"I didn't ask you to follow me!" I spoke back and flames flew from his mouth, and he bawled his fist back full of flames.
I push him off of me and he shot a blast of flames at me that I dodged .
"You expected us not too!? What were you even thinking!"
"Stop it!" Amelia yelled while healing Silver." This isn't the time to be arguing and being violent! We need to stay together. We aren't working as a team and at this rate, we might become enemies because we all aren't listening to each other!"
We were all silent.
Tails walked away and I looked back to Silver as they leaned him up and he held his side.
"Easy." Knuckles rubbed his back and Silver sighed.
"Heh… the stories of how gruesome the fire kingdom is are true." He grunted out. "I get why Sonic wanted to save them though."
"Well, I don't!" Maria said and rolled her eyes.
"It's… it is his kingdom." Blaze said and then shook her head. " No matter how bad it gets here. Sonic always cared about his people."
"That's true." I say and stress filled my face. "I promised to myself I would change the fire kingdom. So, I apologize for running off… I blanked when I saw it move toward the kingdom."
Some nodded their head to my comment while others just listened.
A light rumbling occurred again, and my ears perk up.
"I'm not even sure what I am sensing right now." Maria said as she touched the ground. "I can't even sense it. It's like…fog?"
"We should go check it out… and possibly get back to the kingdom." Rouge finished healing Silver who was way out of it.
I'll carry Silver until he gets his senses back." Knuckles placed Silver on his back and then we all follow out the basement.
"…Where did the building go?" Knuckles said and his eyes widen as he walked more out.
I ran out to see what he meant and then I looked towards the wall. A huge crater had been put in the wall. Destroying a huge chunk of it and the kingdom. I turned my head to see how far the damage was and luckily… it only destroyed the outskirts of the kingdom, but a lot of the land was ruined.
"Oh my god." Cream said and I turn back towards where the vortex was, and it was a massive hole. A crater.
"What exactly is going on here?" Knuckles said.
I stare closer and I start to see spirit energy in the sky. The energy flowed gently around the sky and from the crater and Amelia turned towards us.
"Something isn't right." Amelia said with panic, and she threw her bag off, and I started to look around in fright as she was preparing for something.
"What… spirit energy?' Silver leaned up.
"I see it too…"
"I…" Amelia eyes squint and then she started to walk slowly.
"I think I can sense Sally?"
"What?!" We all asked in unison.
"W-who?" Maria stuttered and Amelia starred ahead.
"I think…. I can't see because of all the energy but… I can feel it." Amelia was starting to walk towards it.
"Let's go- "
"No!" Maria yelled and she started to back away. "Spirit energy. Sensing Sally. If it's her, then she will kill me!"
"Maria, we won't let that happen. We never have." Amelia walked and held her hand.
"We do it together." I say, trying to gain the trust of the group again since I blacked out earlier.
"Right." Blaze says and she looks at Silver hanging onto Knuckles. "But first, we should get Silver back to safety.
"I'm fine. We don't have time for a rescue mission. If that's Sally and she created that crater, then we have a lot more to focus on. I'm fine now." Silver stood on his own but still looked weak.
"Are you sure?" Knuckles asks and Silver nodded and started the lead.
We all followed, and I heard Tails sigh fearfully and I turned my head to his. I walk backwards and he eyes me, and I grab his hand. "It's alright. Nothing will happen to you while I'm around."
"… I know."
We walked on the destroyed ground and rubble and went through the hole in the wall. Orbs and whisps of spirit energy was passing my face as we made ourselves closer to the crater. Our steps became more cautiously, and I looked over to Maria to see her fearful face as I am sure she was sensing way more than we could.
"I sense people." Maria whispered and we pause.
"In the hole?"
"Yes- "
Red ooze plopped out of the crater and Amelia took a step back first. The red ooze formed into a hand and slowly was morphing into a person. Another hand came out of the crater but shaped slightly different than the first. More and more people were crawling out of the crater.
They slowly stood and then the red ooze dripped from their bodies slowly, fading into the air and bodies of people were shown. Different people that came from a crater form the sky. None of this was making sense.
20 peoples turned into 50 really fast we started to walk backwards, not knowing what to expect. Soon the last person to crawl out stopped as they stood and faced the kingdom, not once looking at us that were already looking at them and then the ground rumbled. The pebbles on the ground bounced on the surface and a stream of red ooze shot in the sky and plopped in front of Ameillia. Amelia moved back as the puddle formed into another person but… this is the only person that looked familiar.
His red fur was cleaned from the ooze and his arms were stronger than before. Instead of the grey eyes he used to have… they were red as the ooze.
"Axel." Amelia eyes watered and then Axel raised his arm slowly and I saw faint spirit energy flicking from his fingertips.
"Fall."
