Sally could hear Lightning vomiting from the kitchen. He sounded horrible and that it would never end. But eventually, Lightning walked out. He looked so tired and honestly, he looked like crap. Sally tried smiling for him and asked, "How are you feeling, superstar?" Lightning sat down at the table before answering, "Like a load crap…" "Those were some strong new medications.." "Yeah…" "Did you take them all?" "Yeah, just like I was told to…." He rubbed his hands over his face. He was drained. "Well.." Sally added "Hopefully you will start feeling better and notice a good difference on them soon.." But she hated that the doctor just gave Lightning a bunch more meds. Lightning just sighed and laid his head onto the table. He looked so miserable.

Sally walked over and kissed is head before asking, "Are you hungry?" Lightning moaned a bit before muttering, "No… I still feel sick.." "Maybe you are coming down with something." Sally added. Lightning glanced at her then closed his eyes. Sally hated seeing him like this. He was so down and she truly believed he needed the medications at this point. He was always depressed and tired. "Lightning… Things will get better. You'll see, I promise." She tried to make him look at the bright side, but right now… Lightning just felt way too awful to see anything other than miserable exhaustion, puke, and a headache….

Lightning gunned it down Willy's Butte. Coming down the straight away and into turn one. Turn two, Lightning could feel the back end coming up him again. He hit the brake, sharp turn. Drifting around through turn two and into the straight away. Coming into the third turn. He slowed slightly sense the back end of the Bolt seem to be lighter and lifting slightly. He turned. Turning right to go left. "Crap!" He shouted as the car didn't make the turn. He hit the brakes and turned hard. The left side of the car lifting slightly! "FUCK!" He shouted as the car came close to the ledge! The car slammed onto the ground and he gunned it! Barely making a turn and missing the ledge by inches!

Dust flew behind Lightning as he gunned it out of turn four and then he hit the brakes as hard as he could! Slamming the race car to a stop! Dust flew as Lightning caught his breath. He lost control? He hadn't lost control like that in years! Was he losing it? Losing his talent? No way! Lightning took off the helmet and stepped out of the car. Taking a few breaths to calm down. It had just been so long sense he had a close one like that.

Lightning fell to his knees on the track. Dropping the helmet and letting it roll a ways a bit. He felt.. Hopeless. This was just effecting his racing. And the incident at the pool… Lightning was falling apart. The way he had been treating Sally… HIs marriage was falling apart with each week more and more. He felt heartbroken. He loved her so much that it was starting to hurt! He hated her, but he loved her more! Lightning looked up into the blue skies as his eyes teared up.

"Doc…. Please.. Help me…" The wind blew, but nothing. Of course. "I need a reason to stay at this point.." He mumbled. Lightning looked down at the dirt beneath him. He was.. At the point where he was giving up on him and Sally… He remembered the gift Sally had gotten him for Christmas. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the keychain frame. It was neat. Three photos in one. When you moved it back and fourth, the picture changed. The first picture was Lightning with the radiator springs gang, the next was Lightning, Bobby, and Cal and the last photo was an old photo of him and Sally.

Back when they were younger and happy. He sighed staring at it. He gripped the photo tightly. "No." He growled. Standing up. "I'm not giving up yet. I can save this." He swore to himself. "I can fix this. I'm Lightning McQueen for god's sake!" He coaxed himself up. He was absolutely determined to fix his marriage and make this work!!!……

Lightning sat on the exam table as the doctor went over some notes then looked at him and smiled, "Been gaining weight. Good. 125 now." "Great." Lightning replied. The doctor nodded and asked, "How are the medications doing?" "Good, I guess. I do feel a bit uh… Hazy… Sometimes." "Define Hazy for me." "Like.. I'm just existing and everything around me is silent. I feel numb sometimes…" admitted the racer. The doctor sighed before asking, "Still feeling depressed?" "I mean… I guess it's better." "Great. Let's just keep a routine here. Keep on taking the medications. The haziness should resolve once you have been on the medications for a while." "How long we talkin?" "A few months." Answered the doctor. Lightning frowned. The doctor noticed and asked, "Do you think it will affect your driving?" Lightning looked at her before answering, "No. no, of course not. I'll be fine, thanks." He said as he hopped off the table and headed to his garage.

Lightning met up with Bobby at the 95 garage. Jesse was there with Sally too. Lightning walked up to Bobby and asked, "Ready for another great race?" Bobby snickered with, "Ready to beat your ass." Lightning rolled his eyes and asked, "Where's Cal?" Bobby shrugged, "Said he'd come out later." He answered. Jesse then butted in, "I think he and Meg went out earlier. Something with Strep." "Oh." Lightning muttered. Sally asking, "Everything okay? After the things Linda went through… I think that entire family has been more reserved." Suddenly a blonde woman, older appeared and walked right up to the 95 garage asking, "Where is the Weathers tent?" The friends stared at her a moment. Bobby saying, "Press got to wait their turn."

The woman snickered answering, "Oh no, I'm not press." With a snort in her laugh. "Um… Anyways, is Cal's station or whatever around here? Somewhere?" "Garage…." Corrected Lightning. The woman laugh snorted again. Bobby raised a brow and stared at her. She looked like she was 50 and trying to look 20.. Ew. The woman smiled, "I'm an old friend of Cal's is all. Really need to talk to him." Her voice even. It was so.. Drawn and southern. Bobby leaned over towards Lightning and whispered "Old doesn't even come close.." Jesse heard him and nudged him with her elbow. Cal and Meg then walked up and the woman turned around. When Cal saw her, his eyes went huge! His face turned pale and his heart rate up!

"Cal!" The old woman shouted with excitement. Meg gasped, covering her mouth. Cal faked a smile and said, "I'm sorry… Do I… Do I know you?…" The woman frowned a bit before answering, "I suppose not…" Cal looked at his friends then walked by the woman. Trying to ignore her. Lightning and Bobby glanced at each other with curiosity. Who the hell was this woman and why was Cal acting so funny suddenly? Bobby poked and said, "Hey, Cal! Introduce us to your friend!" With a smug smile.

Cal glanced at the woman before answering, "I-uh-She's nobody. Drop it. She knows better than to show up to the track." The old woman frowned and tried reaching for Cal as she whined, "Cal… I really need to talk to you.." Cal smacked her hand away and snapped, "Don't touch me!" The group of friends confused and shocked!!! Meg then muttered, "Cal…" Cal glanced at his wife then back to the older woman. Giving her a mean and nasty glare. The woman looked so pathetic. Almost as if she were trying ti get sympathy. Cal grabbed Meg by the hand and pulled her along with "Let's just go. See y'all at the race." Taking his wife away from this woman. The other friends watched them leave and when they looked back at the older woman. She was gone! Sally crossed her arms and muttered, "Well, that was weird."…

"And Lightning McQueen takes another win! Followed by Bobby Swift!"

Lightning and Bobby and one of the other racers enjoyed the spotlight for some time. But Cal took 25th position in the end. After the visit form the older lady and now this. Bobby and Lightning were a little concerned for their friend. So after the spotlight and pictures, the two of them headed to Cal's trailer. Lightning began to walk straight up to the front of the trailer but Bobby grabbed him and they hid behind the neighboring trailer. Bobby motioned for Lightning to be quiet and pointed. Cal was outside his trailer, talking to the old woman.

"Cal.. Listen.. I just need"-"No. No, I've already helped you out last time and all you did was spend that money on drugs." He snapped at the woman. The woman whined back with, "I didn't just spend money on drugs! I had to-Look, Walter kicked me out of the apartment and I need a place to stay. I could just stay with you.. Look, you won't even know I'm there, I'll"-"No! Last time you stayed with Meg and I, you stole stuff around the house! Who is Walter anyway!? No! Don't answer that! I'm done!" Cal started to walk into his trailer when the woman grabbed his arm and snapped, "You have to help me. We are family!" "Really!?" "We always gotta be there for each other, Cal.." she whined.

Obviously just trying to guilt the racer. Cal gently pushed her back and snarled, "Excuse me!? Where were you for my first cup!? How about when Linda was diagnosed with cancer!? Where were you when Meg and I lost our baby!?" "You had a baby?…" The woman asked in a gasp. Cal rubbed his eyes and was growing frustrated. "Just… What will it take to get you out of my life this time?…" He sounded mentally exhausted by this woman. The old woman sighed before answering, "Just a little. Just enough for a motel for a few weeks and some food." "You mean drugs." "What? No… I'm not doing that no more. Promise." Cal snickered. Not believing her. "I'll be right back." He walked into the trailer and came back out with a check.

Handing to the woman. "There. Should be enough…." He frowned. The woman smiled, "Thanks, baby." She turned to leave but stopped. Looking back at the racer. Cal looked so upset. He stared at the woman and pleaded, "Please… Don't kill yourself on something with the money I gave you.. Just… Try. Please. Try to do better. Not for me, but for yourself… Dad would"-"Your father is dead. Don't talk about him, Cal. What's gone is gone." The woman snapped. "Be best you forget about him completely." She added. Cal nodded with a frown. "Bye, Mom.." "Thanks." She replied. "Love you, sugar bear." Cal just stared at her. Watching her go. He sighed and went into his trailer. Closing the door quietly behind him.

Bobby and Lightning glanced at each other. Bobby shocked! "That's his Mom!?" He loudly whispered. The boys met her a while back.. But she looked worse. Rougher. Not even recognizable! Lightning felt bad. He knew Strep raised Cal, but never fully understood the reasoning. But his Mom was a mess. Coming and begging for money like that. She was messed up on stuff bad!…

Lightning and Bobby walked over to Cal's trailer. Bobby knocking. The door opened and Cal looked furious. But once he realized it was his friends, his expression changed. "Oh, it's you two." He mumbled. Bobby immediately asked, "Dude, you alright? I didn't realize that was your mom!" Cal's brows lowered as he replied, "Yeah, well… I don't want to talk about it." He tried closing the door, but Bobby stopped him. "What's going on? You really flunked todays race." He reminded. Cal glared at Bobby and snarled, "Thanks. Really makes me feel better."

Lightning finally butted in, "Look, we're just a bit worried. We know you only did that badly because you were stressed out." "Stressed?" Asked Cal. He faked a laugh before continuing, "I'm not stressed. I'm fine. Who cares if my Mom shows up every time she needs something. It's fine. I'm fine." Bobby raised a brow and asked, "Thought you didn't want to talk about it." Cal's brows lowered then he slammed the door in his friends' faces. Lightning and Bobby glanced at each other before going to their own trailers, garages themselves….

Lightning walked up to his trailer. Sally opened the door and greeted him, "How you doing, superstar?" Lightning snickered and smiled. Coming up to his wife and kissing her softly. Sally smiled as their lips parted. "That was nice." She whispered. Lightning smiled and asked, "You like that?.. in a deep and quiet voice. Sally nodded, placing her hands on his chest. Lightning leaned in to kiss her again, their lips gently touching before an "Excuse me…" Broke the moment up. Lightning andSally turned to see the older woman, Cal's mom. She cleared her throat and continued, "I know you are Cal's friend… Could you… Just tell me how he is doing? He won't talk to me…" Lightning hesitated. Not sure he should speak to her. "Um.." He muttered as he walked up to the woman. "Cal… Cal is doing alright. He's a great racer." "Yeah, I know…" that didn't seem to do it for her.

Lightning hesitated before continuing, "He's got a great wife. She's really supportive. Through everything they've been through, they find a way. He's a role model to a lot of racers here. Cal isn't known for jus his riches and his name around the track. He's known for his good character. He's helpful, he's kind, gives pretty good advice, forgiving, he's the guy that's there for you when no one else is. Cal is sort of a perfectionist at times too. Always aiming to be perfect. But not in a cocky way like Bobby and I do a lot of times. In a way that's just generally a better person. Always improving himself. You should be proud of him. He may say hurtful things, but he regrets it. I know he does… Cal can be emotional sometimes. Lets his heart hurt so others feel better. Cal always finds ways to look on the bright side though. He's funny in his own way and knows when to say no. Cal is a great guy. He's doing extremely well."

The woman nodded and smiled, "Thanks. Maybe I'll see you boys around." Before she turned and left. Lightning sighed. He knew Cal was hurt seeing his Mother. It's one of those things Cal had to grow up with. Something Lightning never did thankfully…..

Lightning knocked on Cal's trailer. It was silent at first. So Lightning knocked again, 'knock, knock, knock'. The door opened and Cal sighed as he saw his friend. "What's up, McQueen?" He asked. Lightning placed his hands in his pockets before answering, "Just um… I'm here if you need to talk." "Thanks… I… I'm alright though. It's what she does. Comes to me every time she needs money." "That's messed up.." "Yeah.. Well.. Can't choose your parents, right?" Cal said with a snicker. Trying to lighten the mood. Lightning frowned. Staring at his friend. "Night, Lightnin." Cal said before closing the trailer door. Lightning sighed. Cal was upset and hurting tonight. Lightning knew the feeling. Maybe not the same reasons, but same feeling for sure…

Lightning walked into his trailer to find Sally sitting on the couch. He put on a smile for her. She quickly asked, "Is Cal okay?" Lightning sighed, "He will be." "Alright." Sally replied. Lightning then walked closer and sat down next to his wife. Smiling for real and asking, "Where were we?" Sally snickered and asked, "Think you will actually enjoy us?" "Yeah." He whispered, but his tone sounded unsure. The two leaned in slowly until their lips met. Closing their eyes and getting lost in each others lips. Inside each others mouths. It actually was going well at first. Their tongues rolled around in each other's mouths. Sally wrapped her arms around Lightning's neck as he grabbed her hips with his warm hands. Sally pulled her lips away and Lightning kissed her neck. Pulling her closer and into his lap. Sally crawled over him. Sitting in his lap as he kissed and sucked the skin of her neck. Sally gently lay her head back, enjoying the touch of his lips. Lightning licked up her throat, kissing under her jaw line before using his hand to pull her chin down and kissing her lips again.

A near silent growl escaped him as their tongues playfully entangled. Sally moaned into his mouth. She was very much enjoying this with her husband. Lightning's hands rubbed Sally's back up and down. Feeling her curves, her warmth and up her neck, his hands brushed against the back of her head. Using one of his hands, he gripped her blonde hair firmly. Holding her head in place as he pushed forward, kissing and making out more intensely. Sally moaned once more. Feeling his member grow beneath her against her area. Their lips smacked apart, both gasping for air a bit. Sally kissed Lightning behind his left ear. Sending a shiver down his spine in the most sexual way possible. She then pulled away from him. Standing up and removing her top first, then her bottoms. Lightning watched with gazing eyes. Watching his wife undress before him. Once she was fully nine, she straddled him again. The couple began making out again.

Lightning grabbed Sally's ass cheeks and squeezed them. Making out as he did. Sally moaned in a higher pitch. She was really turned on. He didn't have to feel to know, Lightning could tell just by her sounds. Lightning held Sally by her thighs and stood up, turning them around and gently laying her onto the couch. Never braking their kiss. Lightning lay her down then removed his shoes, sock, race suit. Sally stood and helped him, removing his tank top for him. Clothes flew to the floor and before they knew it, they were both completely in the nude. The couple gently lay over the couch. Sally laying down with Lighting above her. Making out gently, but intensely at the same time. Lightning grabbed Sally's breasts, then brushed her hair out of her face as he parted their lips. His member barely touching Sally's warm and wet area. Sally grabbed onto Lightning's shoulders as he gently pushed the tip in. She moaned and closed her eyes. Preparing for his full erection to enter her.

Lightning pulled out and then a little more in. Letting Sally naturally lube him before completely entering inside his wife. Sally moaned loudly, almost yelping as she felt his pelvis hit her's. Lightning leaned in and let his lips make contact with hers before beginning a gentle rhythm. Making out as he fucked her, no made love. They were making love this round for sure. The gentle and daringness of his rhythm and the soft murmurs of Sally's voice. Their tongues intertwined as he continued. IN and out, in and out. Feeling himself growing closer and closer to his end. Lightning picked up the pace, naturally, instinctively. Sally forced their lips apart to gasp, turning her head yo the side, Lightning kissed the side of her temple. Continuing his thrusts. Sally's breasts bounced with his rhythm. Both enjoying each other's bodies at this moment. Lightning reached between them, playing with Sally's clit in a gentle circle as she had always pleased. Saly's body jolted a bit time to time.

He slowed his rhythm once more as he made sure to Gert her close to her climx. Sally grabbed Lightning's biceps. Her fingernails digging into his skin. "Lightning… Slower.." She pleaded in a breathless way. Lightning did as ordered. HIs circles slowed, Sally's orgasm growing until she finally squirmed in a way that ket him know it was beginning. Once that, he shoved in deep, sending Sally over the edge! Her body forced into orgasm! Sally moaned loudly, almost a yelping scream really. Lightning's rhythm was fast and hard. He had to brace himself with both his hands to balance as he thrusted in and out, in and out until he yanked himself out of her and came all over her area and her pelvis. Both panted a moment. Gazing into each other's eyes. Lightning leaned down and kissed Sally on the forehead then on her soft lips. They both needed that, both worn afterwards though. Lightning kissed his wife once more before ending the moment completely for the night…..

Lightning and Cal were neck in neck round the third turn! It was going to be close! The two came down the fourth turn and into the straight away! Back and fourth. It was either one's race! But Lightning gunned it, cutting Cal off right before the checkered flag mark! Lightning taking first, Cal second, Bobby third in the next race!

The boys walked together that night though the parking area of the trailers. Bobby was all hyped up after a great race! "WOOH! That was a good one, guys!" He exclaimed! Cal snickered seeing how ramped up Bobby was. Rather funny. Lightning nodded in agreement. Cal then asked, "Where's Sally? She had been coming to most of the races this season?" Bobby then added, "You didn't fuck up again? Did you?" Lightning glared at Bobby before answering that, "Well, no. I didn't. Mostly because I'm not taking your advice." Bobby just rolled his eyes before Lightning continued to explain, "She was sick. Didn't feel good. SO she stayed back home." "Oh." Bobby muttered. Cal then sighed, "Hope she gets better soon., We miss her out here. Meg loves having her around." Cal let be noted. Lightning nodded with, "Yeah, I love having her come along to." "How are things going, anyway?" Cal asked gently. Knowing Lighting and Sally recently, not good.

Lightning shrugged, "Alright. I mean.. We have good times and bad." "Working through it?" Bobby asked, "Because we are all routin' for you two." He added. Lightning smiled, "Thanks, guys. Yeah, I think so. Finally had sex that was actually good." Lighting said with such relief. Bobby snickered and nudged his friend, "Thank me later." Lightning rolled his eyes. Ignoring that. Cal then advised, "Be careful though. You made a lot of mistakes with her lately… Just think before you act. And keep away from that guy's advice.." Looking directly at Bobby. Bobby stopped in his steps and asked, "You talking' bout me? I give great advice! You two just don't get the woman's body like I do." He tried bragging, but Cal and Lightning just glared at their fellow racer….

Sally sat on the exam table. Waiting for the doctor to come in. When she did she sighed. Sally stared directly at the doctor with what could be described as worried and hungry eyes. The woman closed the door, sat down and began with the bad news….

Lightning returned home for a few days before the next race. He walked in to find Sally looking rough! She was on the couch, in sweats, blanket, her face red and puffy and eyes looking more exhausted then when he use to train with Doc tired! Lighting sat on the chair across and asked, "How are you feeling?.." Sally looked at him. Dam she looked bad. Her hair in a messy bun, water next to her that seemed to be barely touched or freshly refilled, tissued. "You look horrible." He said with a. chuckled. As if that would help. Idiot. He sighed as Sally covered her head with the blanket. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Do I need to take you to the doctor?" Sally uncovered her head and snarled, "No1" Lightning's eyes widened. Oh fuck she was in a mood, he thought. Sally's brows lowered as she continued, "Why are you home later? You should had been home this morning." "It's.. Like twelve…" Lightning pointed out. "Probably sleeping around." Sally growled. Lightning stood up and snapped, "Look, I know you don't feel good, but don't start causing me of cheating because you want to be bitchy!" "Excuse me!?" "I said acting bitchy, didn't call you a bitch." Lightning quickly pointed out. Sally turned away and muttered, "Whatever…" Lightning stared at her a moment. Dam. What the hell was wrong with her?

"Sal.." He called. Sally sniffled before snapping again, "Just go on. I've got a headache." "Okay… I'm.. Sorry.." He said with caution. Dam. He quietly walked out to the kitchen to get himself a drink. Fuck. She was extremely tired and obviously not feeling good. "Want me to grab some food for you?" He asked from across the room. Sally glared at him from across the house and shouted, "I SAID I HAVE A HEADACHE! SHUT UP!" Lightning just stood in the kitchen in silence. Not going to say another word to her right now. Kind of scared to, but this was more than being sick. Sally had been sick before. Badly sick and never acted like this. Lightning walked back in and sat down. Staring at her. Sally stared back. Glaring and asked, "What?" SO sharply. Lightning shook his head, "Nothing.." He muttered. Scared of his wife.

Then Sally asked, "Are you ever gong to grow up and give me a baby?" She was rude with it to. Lightning sighed, rubbing his eyes before whining, "I thought we had moved past this…" "And retire? You can't race forever!" Lightning only whined more, "Why we got to do this now? We've been good.. Things were getting better?" "Were they? Or did you just finally get your dam dick wet?" "ALRIGHT!" Lightning snapped and stood up. "What the hell is with you!? Are these the hormones!? Is this what coming off the fertility shit does?! Because I can't do this!?" "Well the door is right there! Why not walk out like you always do!?" Sally yelled. Lighting just shouted back, "WHAT!? I just got here and you start railing me with this crap! You don't want me to yell back at you, stop being a bitch!?" Sally gasped! Lighting only made it worse with, "Yeah, I said it! You are a bitch right now!" "FUCK YOU!" "YEAH, you did and guess what!? It wasn't that great!" "What the fuck!" "I'm sorry! I didn't mean it! I just.. You are pissing me off with this dam attitude!" "I'm sorry!" "Yeah!.." Lightning yelled back.

Then it fell silent. Lightning sighed and sat back down before asking, "What is going on?" Sally hesitated before answering, "Nothing.. It doesn't matter anymore.." "It obviously does. Did the doctor tell you something? Something bad?" "No.." "Sal.." "I said no!" She snapped! Lighting had enough and stood up, "Fine. I'm going out for a drink." Walking towards the door. He just had to though. Whatever was going on, Sally was not going to tell him anyway and right now he was pissed, tired, and needed to relax! "You better come home and be ready to talk about knocking me up!" Sally shouted as he left. Lightning could not believe her! He thought they had moved past this. Obviously the doctor told her something that was wanting her to get a move on the baby thing. This was bad. Lightning did not want this, but.. He guess he'd do whatever it took to keep the peace anymore, because he was not drugging Sally again and he was to exhausted to keep hiding anything from her like before. Fuck it. He'd do whatever she wanted at this point he guessed….

Lightning sat inside his vette at Willy's butte. Drinking his fourth can down. He stared at his anti depressants and anxiety medication. The labels a bit blurry but he was reading them. He finally tossed the meds in the back of the car. Drinking as he stared out at the dirt track in the night. He beat the steering wheel hard, BAM! Spilling some of the alcohol all over his lap. He glanced down and sighed. Drinking more before tossing the cab into the back of the car too. The rest of its contents into the seats and floor.

Lightning about threw up on himself but managed to keep it down. Lightning turned the car on and back up a bit before pulling out and back onto the street. Swirling in and out of lanes. Swerving off the road a little. He let go of the wheel and grabbed another can. "Lucky number five." He joked to himself aloud. The car coming off the road, headlights coming at him, Lightning jerked the car into the correct lane just in time as the passing car honked at him. Lightning turned on music to mute out the outside sounds. Drinking as he drove the car down the street swirling everywhere.

Lightning's car made horrible sounds as he didn't shift it properly. Grinding and snarling back at him. Lightning drank as he drove. Driving horribly. Suddenly, he saw the flashing red and blue lights behind him. He groaned and tossed the can of alcohol out of the window before shifting the car and hitting the gas! The car grinding but routes as it picked up speed. The officer behind him gunning it right along with him! Sirens blaring as he chased Lightning down the main strip. People stared at the blue that went by.

Lightning gunned it and turned right at the statute if Stanley. Tossing his last alcohol at the statue, "Have one on me Stanley!" He shouted as he passed. The cop stayed right on his tail as Lightning swayed back and fourth all over the road. Swerving into the dirt, music blaring. Lightning swerved a little more. Grinding the car badly as he didn't shift properly. Until finally the car stopped going and made a horrible clicking sound over and over. The car rolled to a slow stop. The cop parked right behind him, getting out and pointing the gun straight at the driver window. "Get out of the and put your hands in the air!" He shouted. Two more sirens were heard in the background and growing nearer.

Lightning opened the door. Stumbling out of the car. The two other cops pulled up. Lightning stumbled closer to the officer with the gun. Smiling, "Look… Officer, baby…" then he noticed the gun. Everything stopped. The sounds around became muffled. His heart rate slow and loud in his head.

BADUM…

"Put your hands up!" Shouted the cop. But it was like it was under water.

BADUM…

People screaming all around…

BADUM…

The blood on his own hands when he looked down..

Lightning swallowed. Almost choking on himself.

"Get on the ground!" The officer shouted. But Lightning was frozen and didn't hear that at all. "Get on the ground, now!"

The race track.. The people… Crowded.. The feeling of impending doom..

"Sorry." Lightning quickly apologized.

The man in the trench coat replied, "No, no. It is okay. Can you autograph this for me?" The man asked as he handed Lightning a magazine.

"McQueen!" Sheriff's voice shouted in a muffled way.

Lightning glanced down at his hands… Covered in blood..

"No, no. You misunderstand. Not that." he then placed a hand on Lightning's left shoulder, pulling Lightning in close

Lightning's breathing became labored. As if he couldn't get enough air. His eyes widened. Panic surging though him! The feeling of the man's breath in his ear..

"Put that thing down!" Sheriff yelled from under the water it seemed.. so faint.

and whispering into Lightning's ear, "I am sorry for this."

Sheriff ran and shoved the gun down from the officers hand when it went off at the ground! BANG! Lightning grabbed his ears with panic and suddenly he was shoved to the ground by the third officer!, handcuffs being placed around his wrist. Sheriff ran up and helped Lightning up with the officer. Grabbing Lightning's face, forcing the racer to look directly at him. "McQueen!.. It's okay!.." Sheriff reassured. Lightning's breathing was fast and heavy. Sheriff nodded and again, "You're okay. We are home, son! Breathe! We're back home. Radiator Springs. It's alright. It's me, Sheriff." Lightning nodded. His breathing slowed. Returning to a closer normal rate. Sheriff nodded once more before patting Lightning on the back, sighing with relief and stepping back. "Put him in the back." He instructed the other officer. The door closed behind the racer. Sheriff worried. How was he going to explain this to Sally? Lightning lay his head on the cool window of the cop car and sighed. He was tired and felt sick. Worse… Sally was going to be pissed…..
